13/11/06 - Player gallery and more Bank space

This week, the gods of RuneScape take a wee bit of a breather as the scribes and artists bring you their finest work. So what have Reldo, Postie Pete, the Makeover Mage and the Bank of RuneScape been up to?

First up, straight off the presses come the next batch of Area Guides. This time the researchers have been wandering westwards and brought back tales of Kandarin, Karamja and the Void Knights.

Postie Pete, of course, has had a hand (or a chin) in this update as well, bringing together some remarkable art by adventurers, heroes, scoundrels and curs from across the length and breadth of RuneScape. There are some amazing pieces in there, so you'd best put on your cleanest looking-at-artwork suit to visit the Player Gallery.

Reldo has also sent one of King Roald's finest portrait painters to the Makeover Mage to capture some art for the Wallpapers section. It turns out the Mage has been busy updating some creatures, and we can now present you with the artists' work - keep an eye out for these updated NPCs in the future. The sheep are gloriously fluffy; the imps look as mischievous as they behave; the spiders are as terrifying as Evil Dave's Basement of DOOM.

The Bank of RuneScape has used all the revenue they gained from some very clever investments, and have added twenty-four more slots to all members' accounts!

Diango's Halloween problems have also sorted themselves out, so you'll no longer be able to go into the workshop to defeat ghosts. If you've already got your rewards from there, though, Diango will be happy to give them back if you lose them.

We've also made the following changes and bug fixes:

* Rune pouches don't give you a message when you drop them. Instead, they just empty and fall on the floor.

* Switching from any other weapon to a staff properly remembers your combat style.

* Yew and magic trees in farming patches regrow properly when you chop them.

* You can now take enchanted secateurs to Entrana when you go on a balloon trip there.

* In Trouble Brewing, you can't drop torches on the floor. This is to stop players dropping them for members of the opposing team, and spoiling their own team's fun.

bleahz.. releasing the extra 24 bank spaces without new items is just plain mean. they leave us the whole week to fill it with more items, and when hunting comes, we'll go 'OMg, nO! no space for new items!'

I was hoping hunting this week, but oh well. Guess I'll have another week to speculate and fill my bank with items that might or might not have anything to do with the skill :anxious: I really wish Jagex would at least tell us what existing items will be used. Y'know, give us an opportunity to prepare ourselves.

BTW favorite artwork is Miles and me hands down. Definatly shows how pathetic it is to have to interrupt fighting a fire breathing dragon to tell a [developmentally delayed] what somthing is (I mean if he dosn't know that's a fish his IQ has to be like 40). Also glad Jagex decided to change the pouch warning thing back. Was a little sick of the whining.

I like they guy fighting a blue dragon while niles pops up. Also the pic of the guy wearing dragon armour looks awesome.

No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug.

More bank space.... always a good thing!

I know it's not a major update, but bear in mind that they're release an entirely new skill in a couple of weeks. Same thing happened when Construction was released... it was a slow month until the skill release.

Yes, those blue-dragon-niles and the Dragon armour are nice. The blue dragon thing is funny because Niles is a weird random, some weirdo who doesn't know some of the most obvious stuff. And the dragon armour because somone put a lot of time making it. Good job to both. :D

And next week will the sheeps, imps and spiders be updated. And free bank space for the win, always a nice thing. :D

Good to see that Jagex are concentrating on releasing the Hunter skill, rather than working on lots of updates at the same time. I'm grateful for the extra bankspace, too. 8-)

The player gallery looks great, some real artists out there

The above quote is yet another sign of the apocalypse. Someone actually complained about getting more bank space.

This update couldn't have come at a better time for me- I just filled up my bank and was trying to find ways to organize and make room.

Then again, the update just helps me procrastinate till hunting comes out

I'm surprised some people thought that we were going to get hunting this week, I quote the bts for this...

It's November! This month we bring you an exciting batch of updates, firstly featuring a ballooning quest, new wallpapers, more area guides, additional bank space and a new gallery page. Following those releases, prepare yourself for... the Hunter skill! Finally this month we will bring you a quest where you can use all your new-found hunter abilities, plus we give another batch of beasts the makeover treatment...

Now, if you read this then it makes it pretty clear that the updates for this month should come roughly in this order...

1. "firstly featuring a ballooning quest"

2. "new wallpapers, more area guides, additional bank space and a new gallery page"

3. "Following those releases, prepare yourself for... the Hunter skill!"

4. "Finally this month we will bring you a quest where you can use all your new-found hunter abilities, plus we give another batch of beasts the makeover treatment"

Since before todays update we did not have the bankspace, area guides or player's gallery, we couldn't have gotten hunting since it says that it is to be released after these.

Although they could surprise us and give it to us later in the week, I think it would be safe to assume that we're getting it next week.
