adam12343210
well i was thinking that if there were no highscores there might not be as much pressure in rs to train. every1 is always so worried about thier skills that they rly miss out on the fun things in rs. just a thought chat is ON...hyt me!^dragonwizerd was the frist one to listen to my sig^^
spikerkid
No, I love the highscores. What's the point of playing unless you can see your rank. Less pressure = No fun Most pressure = More fun Hehe 1st post  Quit RuneScape :)
Dork
For alot of people trying to get higher on the scores is fun, myself included. Without the high scores alot of people would lose interest in the game. No one's making you try to get a high rank, if you personally don't want to, don't. o.O Sig And Avatar by Tripsis - 99 Slayer Blog - My Pyramid Plunder GuideOwner of Fire Cape since 28-09-2005 - 426th to 99 Strength
shadow_Fox99
A thought maybe... But the fact is, the high scores are what drive people to strive for their high skills. The number one spot in runescape. A dream to some, reality to others. We all want it. First place Winner of Nick 6464 F2P custom contest.

trunksrs
I think they should give you an option to not appear in the highscores. Maybe just replace your name with "hidden" for a placeholder. What's wrong with having your name in the high scores? Be proud! A reflection is just a distorted reality held by glass and your mind.
icedearth06
Highscores are great, its what made me thrive to get most my skills on there cause my runeweb sig looked stupid with all these -- in most skills. Also its fun to see if some people are liars! :P More Tip.it Friends Needed! Feel Free To Add Me\m/ Tip.it's Biggest Metalhead.

SaidinWoT
If not for the highscores, there would be little driving force between huge levels. For skills with really slow experience gains, I always motivate myself by rank instead of by level, as ranks come far faster than levels. 00 Quanta
no............ I love the highscores so I can see what rank I am, so everybody can see what ranks other people are and what their stats are. Its also a good way for me to compete with other people(even if they or I don't know them) so I can get my stats up to be better than them in skill
willysp
i dont really care much for the highscores, i liked the original ones better where it showed who was the best player on each server :P with how it is right now, i dont even think it should be called highscores, a highscore is something to be proud and hard earned, the highscores for RS have what? 30k people per skill? Just my thoughts anyway :P My WoW character, gnome warlock Saldomar

dutchdreams
I think hiding the highscores would be bad. They serve a purpose, as mentioned before, it's an incentive for people to (keep) play(ing). For me personally, it's a nice way to see what I should be leveling to keep me in the top 400 overall ;) The highscores also come in handy to check a person's 'credentials' (for a lack of better word). Say someone is selling un-id herbs, claiming to have a certain herblore level. Check his claimed herblore level against the highscores and you get an idea of what kind of person you're dealing with. I would rather have an option to hide combat level outside of the PvP areas in the game (duel arena, wilderness and the like, your combat level has to be shown always), but for a totaly different reason. oddfaery2
without high scores, there would be no competitive spirit involved in raising levels. It takes a LOT of self-determination in order to get a 99 for yourself, but takes very little to get a 99 for ranks. On top of that, without the high scores, a player could claim to have any level they want, and they would, which would lead to a LOT of trust trade scams, as well as make having a high level in a skill meaningless, since there's no way to check the veracity of your claim. jessy87
really shows a mark on how well youve advanced your account in the past day month year... whatever. look @ me im ranked 3300+ ive been 2999- a few times...of course if i could hold a rank under the top 3k id make me feel amazing but let me tell you those people who are not top in the top 3k players sure let you know they want to be... i get lvls up id say respectibly fast...and i barely maintained a hold on the 3200 area for like 3months. when hunting comes out tho, i hope to beable to lvl it amazingly and get my rank from the 3400ish area it is now to top 3k but holding that position is hard. and really this makes competition good for me in the game and keeps me going. that and getting higher combat. my goals probably 1 month after hunting is released is 75-80 hunting and 92 firemaking(half way to 99)

Umega
I've been thinking about this to, I've been worried about my lower level skills dropping down to the 100.000 rank. My mining is the lowest ranked, I want to get it up, but mining is soooo boring. :wall: There would be less stress to train my skills for me, which will give me a more relaxed playing expierence. I know what some of you might say "Don't check the highscores then", but I always have a feeling to always check how "badly" I'm doing. :? No longer playing Runescape, I caught the WoW bug. Sumpta
The highscores drive me. Maybe that's sad, but it's true. At first it was a goal to have all stats ranked. Then I wanted to be top 500.000, next top 200.000 etc etc. I like the thought of there being only xxxx people who are better in the skill/total then I am :D. However, a rank 1 is not something I strive for. I'm not that crazy...
