x_giva
If you've ever been down by the lumbridge general store, you'd be quickly able to tell that something is wrong. There are at least 80k willow logs in there, and 10k yews. Where do these come from? Macroers.. I have a problem here. on one hand, there's a good load of logs there to be bought cheaply. But on the other hand, these logs came from rulebreakers. My question is: do you care at all if your items are coming from an illegal source? My answer:yes. ahh... the good old days, when 30 attack got you on the high-scores....... An orthodox Jew and proud of it!
Uula
I trained fm 75-90 there, to me it just felt funny how they stock up 10k+ every day. Can't care too much, they will still cut even if you don't buy them. Just report them and keep fming.
Pandaman115
I could really care less about macroers, as they don't affect me, or anything I do, really, and they actually HELP me, with the way Uular stated. But on the other hand, these logs came from rulebreakers. My question is: do you care at all if your items are coming from an illegal source? If a player stops buying these logs from the general store, will the macroers get any less money? Will the macroers get any less XP? Are players buying from the general store in any way affecting the behavior of these autoers? Of course not. The logs will eventually burn away, one every 20-30 seconds or so, whether or not players buy from the General Store. If the player's behavior was in any way rewarding the autoers/macroers, I could see how there would be a problem. But the former has ZERO effect on the latter. It's not like you can put pressure on the owners of the General Store and force them into bankruptcy or something for not doing a thorough background check on their suppliers, LOL. Feel free to not buy in protest, but know full well that there is no correlation between your buying/not buying and the autoers profiting/not profiting. Elphinstone
It's quite simple to grasp really. Unlike real life, we are not only going through a middleman and not taking items directly from the source, which WOULD be unethical, we are going through a computer middleman, which in no way checks to see who sells the logs and doesn't give the seller any profit when you buy the logs. You also can't seperate the logs that were cut by real players from the autoers, so boycotting won't get you anywhere, especially in a game as uncaring as RS. If you really want to make a difference, then go on reporting those autoers and go on buying the logs and doing your own thing. Unlike real life, it's a game, and it will eventually resolve itself. icecube
Eh... I don't care. After they sell them to the general store, I consider them the property of the lovely shop keepers. : So I can happily go along and buy my oaks for construction, and willows for firemaking. PS: Are there really yews there? I thought people only sold oak and willows to NPCs.
game_guy02
Those are autoer logs? Why do I never know these things. Where do these people cut at?
HatshepsutLecter
I don't really care all that much. I always get all of my raw materials myself so I would not be one of the people buying the logs from the store in the first place. Why buy something that I can cut myself? If I was one of those people I would not really mind that much. Me not buying the logs is not going to stop all of the autoers from selling their logs there in the first place. And there could be some logs in there from real people. It is not like the store can distinguish between logs that a person gets and logs that an autoer gets. skeroh
theres a bunch of willows, but not yews. yews would be nice  and i don't really care. it helps me with fm, but i usually wc my own logs, and it also helps other people. it just doesn't help the highscores when the macroers rake in millions of xp. Retired from runescape. I will be on every now and then though. :)
aznmidget448
In general, I avoid buying things. I use skills to get the raw material to level up other skills. The macroers are a nuisance and I just report them as I see them (after trying to talk to them as proof they are macroers : ) I wouldn't mind buying logs from the general store seeing as they would cost less and the macroers will keep selling them no matter what. Only if there was a way to get rid of the macroers.
Randomnameless
I really don't care if they go though the shop keepers. IF i buy directly form the autoer, then i will feel bad. But i don't
Eyrelex
It's not like not buying them will stop the autoers, might as well take advantage of a good opportunity to level firemaking, even though I haven't actually ever done this. And it's not because of the "ethical" problem i'd just rather cut them myself and level wc and fm at the same time. Just report them when you see them that should help take away from your guilt  Check out my Pocket Slot idea!

Krokomaster
I verily despire macroers... however, I wouldn't care if my items came from illegal source, since I think the reason why these are a plague to RuneScape if that they fill Runescape with characters who don't deserve their skill levels... and fill the pockets of their owners with undeserved money. Noob.Lets get some things straight, RC pking is BAD, therefore you deserve to get FLAMED. Bad kills, they are defenseless people. It's like attacking a woodcutter for a yew log...
