white capes...

this isnt really a rant i just wanted to hear your opinions

why does runescape insist on having legends the only white cape (besides the 99 capes, but they arent totally white either). mabye at the begining it distinguished people who completed legends, but now it means nothing in ways of respect.

they released those new god capes which are white... until wait.. they put brown trim! yes brown trim.. and we all know that looks very good.... :-s. they obviously didnt make them plain white for a reason.

white capes go with almost every armor, and with white gloves and boots they look excellent, so why shouldnt we have mutiple plain white capes?

any theories?

When they released wilderness team capes, they apparently received a lot of complaints that the legends cape was no longer distinguished (as there was a white wilderness team cape variety at the time). They quickly changed the color, and I have a feeling they don't wish to repeat that again.

Sorry, But Why Don't you just wear your Legends Cape if you like White So much...?

Seriously though, They Don't want to taint the Legends Cape "Legacy".

And i respect that. I sticked (conjugation?) to my legends cape (instead of getting an obby one) until they released the achievement capes, to have some quest recognition.

I actually totally agree on this one, there is 1 white cape and that's Legends. But I don't understand why there is a color cape in 2 shapes, the wilderness look, and the plan-straight look. That cape doens't exist for players, but the Legends Guild's entrance gaurds have a plan-straight cape wich is white.

Also there is only one black cape, wich looks good too. That's the fremmenik cape. So I'd say make a normal-plain-white cape and a wilderness style black one, and a lot of people will be happy. :D Because it's not fair some people can't wear a white cape  :)

Also, a little thing I've noticed, Melak (sp?) in Canfis' pub, and the old reward guy in Castle Wars both sometimes have a BLACK Legends cape on, and sometimes a white legends cape on. Anyone else seen that?

Obsidian Cape

Zamorak God Cape

That just threw that argument out the door.

Either way, the Legend's Cape was a symbol of accomplishment, and Jagex probably intends to keep it that way for people who still feel it is.

And on top of the solid black deal, I think he also meant that it is the only black cape in the torn style of the legends cape.

You know what i think?

The author hasn't done Legends and can't do it yet but he needs a white cape to make him look cool on his trimmed rune.

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either

a fool or a coward.

Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law

is both.

For a wounded man shall say to his assailant:

"If I live, I will kill you, If I Die, you are forgiven."

Such is the Rule of Honor.

Why would someone with a legends cape complain anyway :S

because completing legends shows you've done stepped up in the game. i respect everyone who wears one and have worked for mine. Bringing out another easy to get white cape would cheese me off as i had to work for mine. The cape is unique legends and should stay that way

Who cares?

Honestly, what difference does it make? I'll still get 99 cooking by new year. There will be nubs in rs. We will still be in Iraq. White capes make no difference, even in rs. If you fell so inclined to get a white cape, ledgends quest would take all of 3 hours. Whop-de-fricking-doo.

Once upon a time...

There were but three capes in the world (of runescape). Red capes bought at the varrock clothes store, black capes obtained from killing highway men, and the fabled blue capes worn by the greatest of adventurers who'd earned the right to enter the champions guild!

But time went by, the champions guild lost its respect as the requirements to get in were getting easier. More capes were added and you could even dye your own.

The Legends quest and guild were a return to the theme of the old champions guild. Legends is representative of accomplishment, that you've built your skills and tackled some of the tougher quests.

You know you're looking at a legend when you see the white cape. It's about pride, and for some of us-a bit of nostalgia too.
