Well, in the wake of the big treasure trail update, i noticed that Jagex has added a whole new dimension to the wildy: Prayer pures. How? The new vestments; true they aren't too great, but prayer will last almost forever in those things.

 

 

 

If you don't agree with me, i can see why, because they'd be too weak to kill anything; so, taking that into account, they have opened the doors to prayer hybrids. (normal pures, to the extent of my knowledge, don't train prayer).

Smite ftw?

not really... prayer isn't THAT helpful in the wildy... and there's always smite.

i was going for mostly a strength-prayer hybrid, because the crozier gives a +32 strength bonus, so you still minimize your combat level. Maybe not a pker, but it would smash against NPC's at pest control and stuff.

If anything it means prayer is more effective and you can have lower prayer. With this armour you may be able to have 31 prayer and not constantly run out when smited. Very interesting possibilities....

As far as I know, ring of recoil hits back when you get hit. If you pray protect you won't get hit, while if you don't pray, you'll get owned immediately, seeing that you have only 10hp.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The new items are simply an additional incentive to train prayer for those who don't (eg. pures)

this one is hard.... you could train defence only to get up your defence, without getting your combat too high...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

the important here is to keep the combat very very low, since the higher levels would hit high...

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

if you would keep it on 10 hp... then always! be ready to use protect from mage if possible, as this would be the biggest problem of a prayer pure, since even very low levels could one - hit you.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

another problem i see with this, is that people would recognise that it is a prayer pure, and if they just don't attack them, they will not die neighter..

Prayer pures would just be using too much money and wouldn't actually be that effective compared to a range/mage pure

He has a point. Though it would be VERY Helpful, wouldn't you think its a bit.. well... EXPENSIVE? I doubt people have that much cash they're willing to risk.

I once saw a level 11 in f2p, weilding an iron mace and wearing full monk. I asked him for his prayer level. He turned on protect from melee. That is a monster right there...

It wouldn't work anyway since recoil ring hits back only if the opponent does the damage, not if you do it to yourself.. : and you can get hit if you are pray protecting.. players can hit through protect prayers.

im not sure, cause i havent checked the stats on the rest of the stuff, but the guthix mitre i got from a lvl 2 clue gave +5 prayer, while the proselyte helm only gave +4

dang; i checked it up; in total proselyte (helm, plate, legs) gives 18 prayer bonus; but vestments (mitre,robe top, robe bottom) gives 13. but then again, stoles give a 10 prayer bonus.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

*another interesting thing: I've heard that magic secatuers are usable as weapons that deal damage according to your farming level. if that's true, then you can also have a farming pure.. mwahahah!!
