okay this is the final thread to discover whether pures are good are not and we want to ALL sides to the argument. Before we get started we need to know what a pure is:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pure: A character who trains attack and strength very high while leaving defence low and keeping range and mage also very high. They usually pk alot and stake as well. They are designed to have an advantage over everyone THEIR combat level.

PK pures are only good for pking. I don't like them.

 

 

 

They usually only focus on training attack and strength. They hardly do any of the noncombat skills. But they train hard for it, and i respect that. But I still don't like them :P

pures are hybrid made, not runescape made. its ruined evrything, even though it can be cool for some things, but stupid for alot more things :XD: :anxious:

Once I fought with this lvl 74 1def pure. Though he had 94 magic and ice barraged me all the time. All what it takes was two dragon dagger specials to KO him.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pures stink, tanks all the way.

A pure on f2p can have fun, but a pure on p2p is very limited. By example, I have a friend whos a ranger pure. He would like to do monkey madness, but he can't because he has no prayer lvl. He would like to teleport, but he can't because his magic lvl is very low. He wants to do slayer, but he cannot afford a ton of addy or mith arrows, and he can't melee very well. All his skills are very low, and he always needs to ask help when he needs to do everyday life things like making duel rings to teleport, or smithing knifes, he just can't do it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On short term, I think it's interesting. From lvl 3 to 70, by example. But beyond that, you need to screw your pure stats in order to advance in the game, life doesn't end at 99 str.

well people like me make pures because my main has over 170mil exp and i still train him but sometimes i play on my pure as well cos its different

personally i think they are a waste of time and there should be a rule to only have one account...not sure how effective that would be...

personally i hate pures.

I personally like tank rangers. Shadow barrage them, then rapid fire them. They cant touch you, you make them die. Whats better?

Pures think they know everything..i hate them.

I still don't like pures.

I get accused of being a pure ALL the time, just because i decided to alch my yew longs. I've only been pking a few times which was a long time ago, and i hate the way they've ruined the wildy, it's not fun anymore. Especially when they abuse you for saving your own skin at the duel arena or wild. It's pathetic. Some are ok, but they're very up their own butts :lol: and arrogant.

in most cases when i have done this they just go "haha,noob you wish!"

I am the proud owner of two pures, and my main. One of them is a tank ranger (85 Range, 81 HP, 80 Def, 84 Cb ftw), the other is a hybird (52cb). :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is true that pures own anything their combat lvl, and yes - most of them are *arrogant idiots*, thinking that just because someone has a lower combat lvl than their main that they are automatically a 'noob'. I try my best to help people on my adventures on my pure. :

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

THE VERDICT: Pures are here to stay, so long as they have an advantage over 'main' stats. Most, I'd say 99% have broken at least one rule - Drop Trading. :notalk:

I have been pure/pking since the first few months of classic, i can honestly say pures, their attidude, has much differed since then and they do disgrace the name pure whenever they act like such, but to no avail does it really matter how they act, its if they make their money.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Runecrafters make money by runecrafting, merchants by merchanting, herblists by potion making(herblore), Pures, pkers of any sort by murder pking.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

So pking is just another way to make money, either fast or very slowly, now some may think pking is a very simlpe non-complex thing to do, but there your wrong again:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For instance one before they go and pk need proper armour(this costs money)proper food(money), pots(money), rings(money), time and investment on a stat(requires money for food/arrows/runes). Now when you add all that together you get a -profit. Pkers have to pk something at the end of their supply or during their supply to make a +profit or to get out of the money they spent and gain some money. 4/5s of the time you lose money.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now someone as smart and said "How can i make more money from pking, give me an edge and such." I'm sure whoever this person was probably didn't have the direct stats of pures today but maybe soemthing roughly like 35-60def, 70str 50att....something like that, and then through years of rs the players developed "pure stats", this led to topics like this and such ignoring why they were made like this.

Thats what someone did, they thought on their own, manipulated game stats to give them an edge on someone else, leading towards they win.

Pking pure: Uses prayer(well almost all)

 

 

 

melee: 60att usually until 80-90str, then gets 70att, keeping def at 1.

 

 

 

Magic: def maybe put up to 20.....trains magic to high.

 

 

 

Range: range to high.

 

 

 

Tank: Range+40def.

 

 

 

Rune pure:def 45 with melee pure stats.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Staking pure: No prayer

 

 

 

Usually gets 60att, 90+str and then gets whip at 95str for maximum effiency.

 

 

 

Range: usually would get def past 80 range for more % of winning,

 

 

 

Magic: high magic, binds and attacks opponents.

Pures are not a good thing, nor are they a bad thing, they are neutral for they are a part of runescape.

Pures are good. But I don't like them/hate them. There are too many off them these days. Therefore I made my char into the opposite :P
