me personally, my friend showed me miniclip and i was checkin out games on there and saw "runescape, be yourself" started an account named ganon, nope, couldnt do that, i needed an easy name to remember so i lookd at the options they had and noticed ganon95, seems an easy name to remember eh? i play for 3 days and forget my password, i create a new account named ganon something something i dont remember what it was, the next day i remember my password for ganon95 and here i am today

my friends were talkin about it in art class during the day we took finals, and they kept saying lobsters and santa and all that and im like... uh what? and i was like alex, show me what to do! and here i do today.

I don't remember who showed me it the first time. I quit soon after I started. I don't even think I played for a month. Later, my friend re-introduced me to it. It took me a little while to clue it that this was the game I previously quit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

First time playing was right before the bank was upgraded to hold things other than gold. I remember that very vividly, as I always wanted more inventory space because you had to carry everything with you. I stopped soon after the wilderness was released.

This girl i knew from school showed me. She gave me her life savings (25gp) and we killed cows for like 3 days straight. Then she got all popular and left. Needless to say im still here :P

Some friends from school introduced me to it way back in Runescape Classic. However by a bazzar twist of fate that happened to be the same day I got my Gamecube. So instead of playing RS I played that for a while, forgot my password and abandoned the game. I then made this account some time later when RS2 was out. Unfortunatly all my old friends regretably have quite RS (for Maple Story no less... eeew :-X )

I found it back when it was #1 on Miniclip one day, then made my account and got hooked :mrgreen:

miniclip. I'm soooooo glad too - i don't think i would've lasted long with f2p's banner ads to start out with. Miniclip had (maybe still has) it's own layout/format which is much better imho for starting out.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also, I had all chats off for the first 3 months of play. Best move I ever made -- I enjoy the game immensely since I was never put off by taunts/gripes from f2p players. I turned it on (only by accident to buy a rune kiteshield off of these forums!)

one of my friends who were at my house were playing it, I thought it was just a simple flash game at a glance but I noticed that it was an actual java mmorpg, he showed me and his other friend and i thought it had a childish community and a boring combat system (he was lvl 13 at the time, but with a balanced skill level, and his lvl 40 cousins played it too). then his other friend made an account, since they were playing it almost every day at my house (and with his other friend too) i created my account and still out of about 10 people i knew who played rs, only 1 didn't quit and is about lvl 80 right now :thumbsup:

One of my friends at school wouldn't shut up about how great RS was (seriously, a teacher asked him a question and he replied with "Runescape's awesome"), so I played to prove him wrong. Boy, did I prove him wrong. :^o

I first knew of RuneScape in 2003, but I thought you had to download it to play and it looked uniteresting. Around Christmas 2004, my friend showed me it. I went to create an account, typed in "Celt" and found out it was taken. :-( I chose to add some numbers at the end; picked 23 - my favorite number. Then I chose a 4-letter password, (PMG!!!) and Celt23 was born.

A longtime friend whom I knew from playing Neopets(I was 13 at the time), , I hated the game from the start. About a month or so later, I gave it another try and I was hooked on it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This was in 2001-ish, the guy doesn't play anymore, he's still a good friend, though.

i saw my friend playing rsc in library like 5 years ago =)

lol i was bored one day cause i just had moved to another country :( . I was watching tv (there was nothing good coming) and i remembered that i played rs many years ago 8-) . So i went on it and now im hooked up with it.

My brothers old best friend showed it to me. I still remember how big I thought the map was and always asking people to take me to different places. I lost my first account to that 'your password is blocked if you type it' thing, I was so sad because I just got full mithril that day I made this account soon after.

my friend introduced it to me as i love rpg's. and she thought id enjoy playing it too. which i thoughly do :D
