As each day goes on, a rare probably goes, someone dies foolishly, and then the blue p hat vanishes. I was wondering, since as jagex arent going to make tradeble christmas events, aka rares now, wont all of the rares just go one day?

I'm sure its possible. But most people with items of that calibur aren't that careless

Well, the market will definitely grow smaller with time, which means bigger prices. But I doubt all rares will go away.

worst comes to worst maybe alot of the people with rares would "quit" and come back a few weeks/months later....making everyone think that they were banned or something but no i HIGHLY doubt all the rares with price tags like those will be going away anytime soon

unless some guy decides to buy everything and then quits and drops them all, I doubt it

2. Accidental alching

 

 

 

3. Deliberate destruction of item (there are people who do this in an attempt to get rid of them altogether)

I don't think rares will die out. One is some people back in 2001 made about 1,000 copies or something. Only way then can probally get rid of them is dropping them in 50 wilderness and wait til they disappear or alch them. Either way, no. Yes it is possible but you will need rougly 20 years at best.

Yeha eventually I'll lose my yellow phat. I'd say I'm quite silly with it. Ranging blues, dropping it for pics, camping at abyssal demons... etc.

easter eggs and pumpkins will become more rare as time goes by. People often foolishly eat them.

Mine collects dust in my bank... i get tired of people annoying me for cash or to see it in a trade...

Actually, people found a way to duplicate items a while back, and the secret leaked out eventually. Jagex offered lifetime membership or something to the person who told them how to do it, and the person who did got banned.

I believe the #1 reason they are diminishing is because of the amount of players quitting. When people work hard to get one then finally get it, they feel like "Wow ok now what?"...

Rares wont last much longer because more and more people are buying them to keep rather than to sell on. Some people make goals specifically to buy rares to keep, rather than use them as investments or mechant 'items.' Hence their not going to last much longer.

It's impossible. Not everyone would be willing to sell theirs, for any price. Some just like phats and rares that much.
