Bubsa
I give blood, a big reason why is that other people who have done so have saved my life before, so I feel it's only right to help them back. Plus, I'm blood type B negative, which is quite rare apparently. I really hate the sight of the needle drawing blood, but it's easy, just look away or shut your eyes. I also find by not watching the needle get in I don't get as nervous and it doesn't hurt as much. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. issy2
I certainly will when I'm old enough. I'm also getting a donor card - if I die suddenly in a car accident or something, about 16 people my age could benefit from my death. I'd much rather let someone have my organs and give them another wholesome chance at live them be buried in some titchy claustrophobic coffin six feet in some strange unfamiliar place surrounded by dead people and a church. (No offence to anyone) But, yeah... back on topic... I'm pretty sure I will give blood when I'm old enough. Scared of the needle hurting though... :uhh:
hiimben
I might donate blood when I can. I don't know exactly the commonness of O- blood is but it's what I've got :P So yeah, I probably will :D

Mistymaple
I really want to when I'm old enough. I think that's its an awesome idea. And there are so many statistics about the amount of people whose lives are saved due to people giving blood. My problem is that I'm not heavy enough... my mum couldn't give blood at 17 cos of the same problem, and I've inherited her small genes. I'm so small that if they took blood out of me I'd die or shrivel up :? When I'm older and fatter (teehee) I'll definately give blood. And in the mean time, someone who wouldn't will have to do it for me *looks around* Thanks Choas for the Avatar and Petry for the sig (You know who you are) :)Optimistic Elder in Runescape's only cult, The Order of Cabbage. knives669
I would if I could, but i'm not 17 yet. Do you have to know what blood type you are or can they test for that? My mum's told me before but I always think she's making it up No. You don't have to know your blood type. I don't know mine. Apparently, they're going to tell me within the next few days. :P I really hate the sight of the needle drawing blood, but it's easy, just look away or shut your eyes. I also find by not watching the needle get in I don't get as nervous and it doesn't hurt as much. I really hate that too. So, I just close my eyes and look away as well. And take a few deep breaths. ^_^

Besides, its over by the time you feel it if you don't look :)

insane
Knives, as far as I know, if you give blood and black out after, at least in Ontario, they're not allowed to use the blood you gave :P

Tigra00
Passing out is pretty normal if you haven't eaten or are dehydrated, sooo.. I donated plasma a while back and got light-headed for a minute, but didn't pass out. Was no big deal really. I've donated blood a couple times and went to donate plasma just for the money :P, it was dreadfully boring, however, and left a scar on my arm, so I said screw that. =; The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Markup
I have respect for you, have a....cabbage : If I were to describe how badly I hate needles then I would be sure to use every single swear word. But that sucks passing out. I was meant to have a blood test, because i'm on a medication. I never had it, I was sitting in the chair, then just had a nervous break down If I got past the fear of hypothermic syringes then I would definately give blood. Maybe I will get over it when i'm older. ~MAK
MPM
*Pulls out his doner card* It says that I've donated 10 units of blood (plus a couple that weren't recorded) I always have fun... Have had blood squirt into my face from someone not knowing what they were doing (small rolling veins). I've had chunks of skin go into the tubing and make me stop, and I've had both my arms poked in one day to get it done. Add in the fact that I hate needles as well :| I don't know why I go, It's just necessary I guess. This reminds me, I need to go in. I think it's about time. ~M
SuziAngel
I gave my 10th pint in November : Giving blood isn't the most comfortable experience, but I wouldn't say that it's painful. I just tend to keep talking and not look at what they're doing with the needle. I'm often surprised when it has been inserted without my realising.
