Will there be a RuneScape 3? We have RunScape Classic and RuneScape 2, why not a RuneScape 3? What do you think - will there be one? If so, what do you hope it will be like? Or not, then why do you think jagex wouldn't make one?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My imput - I say their will be a runescape 3. I hope it has better graphics, emotions, chat options and citys, monsters, quest, and other things. Also have a in-game Clan Central to have like clan wars and whatnot. That'd be awesome.

I believe Jagex will make another game, but in no way, shape, or form will it be like RuneScape. It will NOT be called RuneScape 3. And it will be totally different. (Maybe a Sci-Fi set-up).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you look on Jagex's website, they say they are looking for people with animating experience in the field of "Sci-Fi." So they are planning something completely different.

One single game updating can just go so far....maybe they wont name it rs3 but it might be like a whole new one if they make some HUGE updates.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If it's been confirmed that there will be no rs3, then simply discuss what you would of liked to see if they were planning on making a RS3.

They seem to be committed to improving their current system they use, so I dont think it would happen. They are already making large profits and generally you dont change what works.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The only way I would think a new version would come out would be something like wow where you buy the product at a store. Thats really the only way to improve graphics etc greatly.

i don't think they will, they lost around half the players they had when they made rs2, so i don't think they want to lose around 500k people.. thats just what i think though. they will probably end up making a game nothing like rs like that one guy said, because there really isn't anything else rs can be added.. it's 3d now, and they couldn't really add anymore emot to everything in the game or else it'll be slower than me running on my hands..

Oh please... RS2 has only been running 3 years and most of you weren't even playing when RS2 came out, why even bother asking for "RS3"

1. Runescape is one of the most well known mmo's out there. It is absolutly MASSIVE, and last time i checked it had over 15 million players. They compeat in a compleatly different way, and with a compleatly different claber of game than WoW.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jagex knows they cant beet WoW. They also know they don't have to. The fact that most MMO's are relativly unknown plays hugely into their hands. They can keep their price lower than WoW's, thus giveing them some degree of attraction, and yet they don't have to wory that MMo's with lower prices will beat them out, because few people know about them.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2. Lets asume that I'm compleatly wrong and Jagex does need to compeat with WoW. They don't need better graphics NEARLY as bad as they need better gameplay. Graphics are compleatly secondary.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know some people like Graphics more but lets use this as an example. lets say both WoW and RS cost $10. WoW has the same graphics as its always had, but it has RS style gameplay. Where as RS has the same graphics its always had, but has a WoW style gameplay. Which are you going to pick, WoW or RS. Anyone how has played wow will take it over RS anyday

I've played WoW and i think it sucks, I hate WoW. RS is way better in my opinion.

Like i said, they may not call it rs3, but in a few years Runescape will be completely different in graphics ect than it is today.

id love their to be like 70 different sets of armor available in RS3 that are practical... sadly, word of warcraft is probably better but with runescape its like so simple, personally id call runescape the pong of gaming community and WOW pacman. definately 2 different games but still very expandable. im sure some people here have played shooting games such as halo2 gears of war lost planet 007 goldeneye what else? imagine if runescape was like that with alot of things, particularly range comes to my mind actually having to aim considerablly to even attempt to hit the target, but damn that would be hard to play and stuff.

Seeing as they just added German beta, it doesn't look like RS2 will die any time soon

Yeah, they will not make a third runescape. They can (and are) improving RS2. I wouldn't want to play another rs, making that a third one. I would feel all my time in RS2 would be useless, because everyone exept a few players would go to RS3, and you're almost forced to play RS3 too. We'll see what happen.

rs3 will need to be on cd or dvd... they cant put 1gb online without a fee...

you never know...they may make a RS3 with all stats, names, items ect transferable to the new graphic updated version. So like I said -

I say cooler attacks with sword. Like on Lord of the Rings they got all those awesome atttacks. And also better magic, like spells so you can heal yourself and others in wildy....things like that.

I don't want JAGeX to make a RS3 anyway. We just converted to RS2 (not exactly recently, but it will be a too short of life for RS2 for everyone to convert to RS3.)

It'd be cool if they released a cd, that contained the better spec version of RS. You have the Java based high and low detail, and the actual super high detail, or whatever you want to call it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It would still, however, require an internet connection, and you would still interact in every way with the other characters.

Aww man....

I can think of a better way to begin an RS3: Use of the JNLP Java Program Protocol. (I'm just waiting for my dad to back up this PC and upgrade the java before I dig into that stuff!) I have seen many lesser-known full-free RPGs doing this. Would give full room for really going all-out with something like this.
