Is Jagex Over Cooking Runescape?

We are not paying Jagex every month for them to just not give good updates! We deserve better updates, not some lame quest or pointless skill (hunting)...

If runescape were all free, we would not need constant updates because we are lucky with what they give. But the point though is that we DO pay every month, and we deserve good quality for our money. If jagex has to only have one update a month but an actually GOOD one, then that is great :) If they think that giving a crappy update every week is fine (quantity over quality), then I will take my money elsewhere... :shame:

You seem to care much about bank space. When finishing a quest, just drop the so-called "useless" items. If you need them back you can always get them back from the NPC's involved in the quest.

Hunter; I personally don't like the skill, but some find it great. (chinchompas are great for ranged/cash)

BA; I personally don't like this either, but some find it great too.

Quests; In all MMORPG-games there are quests. They are in my opinion the most valuable part of these games.

You know what I've found? The only players that complain about updates being "pointless" are the ones who have done everything else there is to do in RS. Personally, I would prefer that TB@JT held off on updates for a couple months so I can get caught up on the content that's already out there. Take a look at my stats. The only one that's nearly maxed out (meaning all features use-able) is hunting. I have 123 QP, meaning I've done, at most, 1/2 of the quests. I'm not complaining about updates because I usually pay no attention to them and continue with what I'm doing. I feel fairly certain that most mid-lvl players are thinking along the same lines that I am.

I would prefer that they think through their updates before releasing them, though (Hunter not being an example of mis-execution - it fills in a bunch of gaps and gives us "gadgets" to utilize).

perfect grammar is one thing, typing like a drugged monkey and enjoying it is another

I gotta agree with you in some ways. The higher levels barely get any updates that are useful and thus some part of the reason why some of my friends leave. B.A. seems confusing to me, but some people seem to like the fighter torso, even though it's only 1 reward. After you have it, there's no point in going back except for fun and such. The quests are getting on my nerves and the pointless items yet again aimed at mostly low-mid levels that most of us will barely every use. The only thing I can remember off the top of my head a quest item recently that is useful is the helm from fremmy isles. Otherwise they release about 2 quests a month that is full of junk. I only do them to keep my cape which I prefer over obby even though quest isn't as good looking, but less money, same stats, and plus a emote. Hunter isn't too bad, it's about the same as con and maybe less useful. I find the chinchompas that you catch can give nice range exp at pc, [bleep]ed vamps that are kinda cool and easy to get, and I can't think of anything else atm. I agree they should have planned it more.

I can't really be complaining since this is the only online game I have played for so long and still enjoy it. I have played other games and it's all crap. This is a great game, but improvements are always better. Nothing is perfect, but try for the best.

You can't, shouldn't and is not fair to compare rs2 to rs1...they were completely seperate..in rs1, things were there, but no one had ever seen or even had some items, so there was a whole thing of intrigue, but rs2 has grown into something else.

ANyway, i feel too like a lot of the updates seemed slightly empty. But, what can we do....we need some tifers to grow up and work for jagex :P

I think instead of "High detail" or "low detail" we should be able to choose between:

Rare

Medium rare

Normal

Well done

Hunting is a great skill! You can make money with chinchompas and its fun to train.

I am a quest addict, but these new ones just plain suck, I only do them so I can keep wearing my quest cape. B.A. is okay for me, but I'd rather have a castlewars update. Hunting I have no complaints at all about.

Quests coming out every month are for the people with quest capes, they still have to give them a challange and can't keep them and just let them be done with quests in all. Some of the stupid quests are made so that the people with capes are like "WTF" but if they want theyre cape still they'll have to do it.

I agree with the starter of this thread, we need quality over quantity in the updates. I would prefer one or two EXCELLENT updates per month as opposed to the number of AVERAGE updates we get now.

We need some more challenging quests. What I mean is quests that really make you think, rather that just running around getting this and that. More quests like RFD would also be good.

As for the high-level "whingers", I think that they have a point. Once you reach around 80-85 in most skills you get no extra "abilities" for training the skill. The only exception to this is Smithing, where you get extra abilities right up to lev 99 - other skills should be like this.

Hunting - A skill that should never have been released:

This skill brings nothing to the game and was abandoned as soon as the novelty wore off, leaving us with a bank full of useless items. Really Jagex what was the thinking behind this one? This skill was rushed and should have never made it into development.

Why is it that hunter was near the bottom of the list in the poll of what skill needs an update?

well i was dissapointed with that poll, i'd hoped it would be at the top of thne ones that need an update so i would have somethning to do with my 99 hunt.

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...

I'm really starting to get sick of these whiners. :wall:

dont read the threads then....

Because ignoring them will make them go away <.<

Also to the people talking about RFD - It was a special anniversary quest, the 100th I think? As such it was a special treat from Jagex - not a regular thing - we cant expect a new Barrows gloves/Barrows armour/Whip every month; the whole game would just fall to pieces from a lack of balance.

Finally to the guy saying "We are not paying Jagex every month for them to just not give good updates" - darn right you aren't; you are choosing to pay Jagex for runescape membership - tell me where in the terms and conditions it promises amazing updates every time. People need to grow up and be less self serving; ask for these updates sure - just please don't demand and expect them, and definitely don't throw the toys out of the pram when you don't get them.

Basically, I dont agree. Yes, some updates have seemed a bit pointless, and some updates are looooong overdue (Varrock Graphics, Banking System Overhaul, Clans) but basically Jagex are trying their very best do balance things out. Don't forget, there is only about 200 of them, catering for what, over a million people?

I think you should think how they feel, when they have put the last 6 years of their lives into this game, and some of their oldest players start having a go about updates they don't even care for.

A final note, when the B'chest Anchor was nerfed and then fixed, Andrew made a post on the forums about it, and he wasn't happy. He basically had a go at everyone who was saying Jagex were losing it etc, and said if they didn't like it they weren't welcome on Runescape.

The post was edited out by Paul about a day after, but you see the point.

The point is that Jagex rarely seems to release decent updates anymore. They used to release great ones, but now they seem to favor quantity over quality. You may be fine with lackluster updates week after week, but some people, like me, expect better from Jagex. We have faith in them, and know that they can make this game great once again. \'

I don't care.

Let Jagex do what they please with their game.

But, I have enjoyed some of the updates.

Hunter is awesome simply for the hammy hand grenades. 99 range in 2-3 weeks is sexy.

BA was okay. The fighter torso made me happy.

Some quests are nice. Although, the only one that I can recall tha made me happy when it was released was RFD.

I think we need to lighten up on Jagex when it comes to CS. Sure, it may be rediculous, but I'm sure they're trying to find a way to fix it.

I mostly agree. Jagex use to bring out updates for everyone. Barrows, it was an update for mid to high level players(lets say 85-126). The Whip that has to be one of Jagex best updates the only problem with that is you can't train strength properly with it, but still a great update. Anchients, like omg Jagex makes something only people with high level mage and lots of money to spend. Fremmy trials, Pritty good update, the reward not so great but the stuff you can get after, great update. The tz-haar/onyx update, I've only seen about 3 players under 95 combat with a fire cape.

Dragon armour, I'm pritty sure all the lvl 100+s where using rune before the dragon update(Not entirely sure but I think it was before barrows, whip and that stuff).

Those are all the good/great updates. Heres the useless ones.

Olaf's quest. junk reward

Tower of life. Fun quest I personally don't like items that don't even stack in your bank and are pritty useless(aka, lunch box things great idea jagex, not)

Hunter, HOW USELESS!!!! even if your lvl 3-40 it's useless. How is an imp in a magic box that ONLY takes 2 items to the bank. Yea I'm reely gunna put 2 of 100,000 coins in the bank.

Dragon 2h. Yea it might have 96+ str or w/e but how slow is it!?!?! and it's a 2h.

Death to the doreshuun. WHAT A USELESS REWARD!!!! even for a level 40 it's a useless reward.

Cross bows. This has to be one of the most useless and dumbest updates ever.

The new treasure trail stuff(not including 3rd age or blessed dhides). HOW USELESS um yea jagex I"m going to use a glory(t) just because it looks better. WHY DON'T YOU JUST UPDATE THE NORMAL AMMYS!!! THEY LOOK TERIBLE!!!!

Now I'm not winging and whining about the updates jagex brings out. I mean you still need to keep your low levels happy right? But it's been ages since we've had a good update that's usefull for the lvl 85-126s. All the time they would've spent on hunter, they could've made a use for birds eggs. They could've made more ___ X or ____ all(____ means like drop and stuff they don't have those options for). All the time they spent on the new treasure trails they could've added a new dragon item(aka dragon pl8, dragon full helm, dragon kite, dragon boots, dragon war hammer, dragon claws ect.)

When you make an account you need to say your at least 13. All these new updates are for people maybe 8 and a half-12 and a half.

Jagex gets all these posts of suggestions that are actuly well thought through, go well with the RuneScape story line, would make RuneScape a better game to play and are actuly good ideas. But jagex chooses to ignore them. I wonder how many of the Jagex staff actuly do play RuneScape on a personal account. I wonder how many of the Jagex staff actuly read the suggestions forum threads. Most likely about 1 8th of the staff do.
