What country do you believe (with facts) is the most politically and economically stable country to live in? and why?

I think Finland is but I have NO idea why. I'm actually looking it up now.

What do you think?

I think Sweden is up there right now.

Our level of social security coupled with the technological growth suits me perfect. We should be afraid in the future of a stagnating working-field, people being too afraid to switch jobs because of it being too hard to find one, and it not being a good choice leaving the one you have. For many reasons.

And this leaves companies wanting to start up and do something new and creative without people interested in getting out there. This could partly be solved by an immigrating workforce, but there are problems integrating them atm. Or rather "Swedes" have a problem being integrated with.

Not saying I'll work here forever, but it sure as hell was a very nice place getting started in life.

Antarctica & USA 8-)

The only real problem in Antarctica is that gigantic ozone layer hole over it and not alot of countries recognize it as a sovereign nation.

USA for reasons I think anyone can figure out.

The USA is probably the best place to live in the world.

Notice how almost noone said they wouldn't want to live in the USA on that "Places you'd never live in because" thread? The people who did said they wouldn't live here because there are fat people...As if there aren't in every country.

The USA is probably best overall, but for places of beauty and stuff, it'd probably be Netherlands/Finland/Tropical places...Stuff like that.

Personally, if I won the lottery and could pick anywhere to live, I'd probably live in Colorado or something.

Ireland, personally. Beautiful land. I'd live in Dunharrow as my ancestor was the Count about 600 years ago.

Best overall? Poverty? Education? Health?

And I may be wrong (it is a pretty common belief in my area, so that may be why I believe it), but I think USA has a higher obese/capita rank than most other countries. It could be a sign of wealth, I give you that, but to me it's a sign of bad culture and bad education, as it comes from McDonalds and the like.

FFS, less than 5% of the population is clinically obese. Yes, we are an overweight nation, but so is almost any other modernized nation! I am sick and tired of this rumor.

Obese means over 150 pounds overweight (only counting fat, not muscle). These are people who can't wear pants from normal stores, can't walk, can't fit through doors, and are physically handicapped. They are essentially RARE.

We might have a higher obesity rate than other nations, but it's not high AT ALL. You could go 6 months without seeing a single obese person.

The USA has very bad education, Belgium has the best.

The USA is very fat to put it bluntly, Finland is the least after the 70's epidemic.

The USA has bad welfare, Norway has the best and most effective.

The USA has a bad democracy or shall I say Plutocracy, Finland has the best.

The USA is actually behind in technological advances, Finland rates first.

Barihawk, in Michigan you can't go a day without seeing more than 12. In Colorado you could go for weeks. It's widely and unevenly dispersed.

Actually, on paper the US education system kicks the pants out of Europe. Our students have much more time to decide what they want to be. I have my flaws with the apprentice system, but that's another matter.

Lets remember theres 300Million people in America, it has some harsh climates and every country in the world hates them. How difficult do you really think it is with that amount of people and that amount of diversity?

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

With a very biased opinion, I'd say Australia. This place rocks. Plenty of opportunity and simply stunning geographically. All social systems are above average and bordering on excellent (I haven't studied, this is just from personal experience). The only problem is the school-girl attitude our two rival political parties have. They could do better and progress is halted somewhat because of thier childish bickering. Other than that, Aus rocks your socks. Oh and we rule at sport and beer drinking. :P

Come on you nationality-confused anti-American! Just because it isn't the "best" in the world doesn't mean it's "bad". It's certainly isn't below average. We know, Viktor, that you practically sleep with Norway, Finland, Sweden, and sometimes all of European countries, but that does not mean the rest of the world sucks. Yes, I know we aren't all fanatics of the USA, but they deserve some respect.

I hate America, I hate our government, I hate a lot about it, but I would say it is a good place to live, depending on which state, I've lived in Kansas my whole life, and its said that the particular town I live in is a great place to raise a family, I can't disagree, the place is timid as hell, but I believe I've had a good uprising here, the schools are fairly good, many of the teachers I've had are great(Except for a few that probably didn't belong near children, but I'm not going to go there), its an over all great place to live if your looking to have a family, though I don't doubt there are better places, I may have learned a lot of the world around me, but I've never actually experienced it, thus there are more than likely better places to go.
