Runescape: Now on addictinggames

As some of you may know, runescape is now playable on the popular flash game website, "addictinggames.com." The last time runescape was put onto a flash site (miniclip), the amount of under 13 kids playing the game skyrocketed. What do you think will happen with the community now that it's available on addictinggames?

same thing really. but ppl who know miniclip know addictinggames so there will be those newbies there but few of them.

Well, if kids register with their true details, they will only have access to quick chat, unless they're over 12. :thumbsup:

More people will whine and complain that there are too many kids in the game and addictinggames product will join the line of X Products, such as miniclip products, rs2 products, pc products, and products in your grocer's freezer.

Very little, the whole "miniclip ruined rs" arguement is pretty flawed tbh. I dont think miniclip did that much to the game really, i know people who joined in that wave of players and there just as fine as the rest of us.

Unless this site is for really young kids (dunno whether it is or not) the average age of an Rs gamer shouldnt change, nor should the average maturity.

It is a good move for Jagex, although at the end of the summer holidays it seems strange they wouldn't advertise at the beginning.

I think it will bring a fair number of players into the game....maybe 25% will stay longer than a few months. Even though miniclip brought many noobs ( not just newbs ) it also brought alot of good, genuine people. Hopefully addictinggames' fan base is a little more mature... -.- we can only hope

i swear i saw runescape on addicting games like before or shortly after i started this character. probably what reminded me i should play this again.

Then you don't remember when it happened. The community wasn't bad before miniclip, then Jagex put RuneScape on miniclip, and I turned off my public chat.

I highly disagree, I joined from mini-clip and I really didn't see much of an immature player-group. Most players were rather helpful back then. I feel that it was later on, as the game actually got much bigger, that this immature player-group began too become much more evident. They were always there, just not as noticeable.

Okay well this is what i mean, The community hasnt gone to rat [cabbage] just because of miniclip, and i do remember when it happened. There was alot of talk of how the people from miniclip were ruining the game and people just started believing it was true, really though theres no evidence.

When people tell you people are acting immature all of a sudden you start noticing it more, when really it was there all along you just werent noticing it. Even if there was an influx of immature people from miniclip they would have quit or probaly gotten more mature by now.

You are correct, runescape has been on addicting games for a long time!

RuneScape has been on AddictingGames and Funny-Games.Biz for a very long time...

And recently Kongregate.

Its just advertising... Every good company does it.

I saw it there like a week after I started playing back in August '04... this isn't anything new

Runescape has been on a big marketing drive for awhile now, its not the first nor will it be the last gaming portal affiliated with.

It wont make much of a noticeable difference. But I'm sure I've seen it there before tho. :roll:

Kids never do that... Even if a few of them do, they'll find out they can only use QC so they'll go back and register a new account with false information.

From my experience addicting games is where high school students go to play video games during school because they are bored out of their minds. that would make advertising now a good move, seeing as those who are forced to play addicting games during the school year probly play other games on their xboxes or playstations.

Sadly this is how i found the game nearly three years ago... there is nothing new about this popping up

I think everyone is over reacting a bit. Sure, there might be a 1000 more immature kiddies in the game, but does that mean the whole of the community is going to go sour and start using 1337 Speak and the like?

Slightly Off Topic: I know someone who plays RuneScape, and are the same age as myself (14), yet they type like a 10 year old. I am sure that it is the case with many other teenagers that they are too lazy to type properly.
