    Preseason is a [bleep]..

Soo.. Preseason for football started last week for us young ones. I went in with the expectation of light drills, you know, handballs, a little kicking, talking of tactics.

Boy was I wrong. I've been running/swimming over 20km a day. That's a lot for somebody still recovering from surgery on both feet and left pec/lat/rotator cuffs. It's another 3 weeks until I can do decent weights, which means another 3 weeks of insane cardio.

The Runescape side of things has been pretty quiet. I've just been far too tired after training, teaching my classes at the gym and doing all my housework . I'm hoping to force myself into finishing off a quest each day until I get to 270.

Oh well, I'm off to go swim again!

This is my new blog of weirdness. Look through it and have fun!

As the title says, I officially love the Melbourne Cup now. Because of it, I get five days of not going to school! Melbourne Cup ftw! I've got the uncontrollable urge to do a victory dance so I will have to end this blog post.

    GrindScape!

I should really be doing my homework. Instead, I'm sitting around reading people argue about economics and whether the RuneScape economy is going down the tubes, and wishing that my homework was about economics rather than science.

Of course, if it was economics, I'd probably find a topic about the science or lack thereof in Runescape and be wishing that my homework was science... funny how that works.

Speaking of wanting what you don't have and Runescape, I've noticed something in my fellow players. A lot of the loudest (not necessarily the majority) seem to believe that the world should revolve around them, the world owes them, the world should be at their beck and call, etcetera. They whine and mope and complain because the world isn't molding itself to fit their every desire. And DAMN, is it annoying. Now, I will admit that I have partaken in this behavior myself on occasion, but it's immature and the only thing you should get for it is a solid whack with a clue-by-four.

However, complaining, when backed up by some sane arguments, is OK in moderation. I'm not sure it should even be called complaining... but I can't think of what it should be called, either. Complaining for the sake of complaining, on the other hand, is again 'worthy' of a smack with a clue-by-four. Heads up, curmudgeons: you'll get tuned out eventually. If you really want things to change, make some suggestions as to how things could get better. Don't just stand there and complain, DO SOMETHING!

This has been Lielac, who still hasn't finished her homework.

    When life and Runescape collide

So yay, another blog place huh?

Hopefully I'll do a better job of updating this one then my others but I seriously wouldnt count on it. This blog will basicly be about the changes in rs and how an Oldbie(been playing nearly 9 years at this point) is forced to adapt playing methodology.

I'll start off by saying, in the begining days i didnt have my own computer, but I played every chance I got at school or a Library or whatever. These days I have my own computer and all that good stuff that I always wanted, including a highspeed connection. But just like the nerd in that hitchcock movie, I had my own twisted fate thrown at me. Now I'm basicly too busy to play. I have a way too many prior commitments with school and volunteering and all of my side projects going on at the same time.

Because of all the work and meetings and all that stuff that I have to do, I've gotten to the poitn where I have to capitalize on all the time I DO get to play. Recently its gotten so bad I can do little more then log in, and do one of the "click and leave" skills like fishing or woodcutting. Click the related task and have my avatar swing away while I'm working on A project. Once i notice the characters animation stop i click again. Rinse and repeat. Some times it goes on for so long that I log out. yeah.. its not really playing I know.

The benifit to this is that, with the resources I collect doing this, I can use it when I actually HAVE time to pay attention to the screen. its good for stocking up materials to skill with as well. But with the recent massive hike of materials skilling has come to a halt for me as well. So I basicly am just waiting around until i can finaly get back to slayer... joy

    An adult player's view

Some of you may remember me from a guest article that I wrote for the TipIt Times. I am an adult player of Runescape and when I say adult I mean I am 34. I have played for about 4 years now but I am not a hardcore player so I am not a maxed stat, boss hunting, PvPer. :) I play casually: sometimes I skill, sometimes I quest and sometimes I just log on to cut wood for MTK.

When I wrote for the Times, I wrote about why I play RS and why I keep coming back to it. I've burnt out on plenty of other games but even if I take a break here I always seem to come back. I like to log in and see what's new even if I'm not going to play today and I usually try to read the Times here on Tip.It each week.

So, I have to wonder what is up with the Times this week? I hate to be harsh, especially since all of the feedback I got was so nice, but I just don't get it. We start out with this article which compares Jagex's development of Runescape to the British government and the American Revolution. Seriously? To compare the player base of RS to the founding fathers of the United States is both a huge insult to some very important historical men and a tremendous amount of ego on the part of the author. This also casts Jagex as the evil British tyrant and suggests the players need to revolt! I just have to shake my head. I know there will always be people who disagree with the way the game is run and the changes that are made. However, this just seems over the top. When I initially saw the title, I thought it might be a good article about ways to give constructive feedback to Jagex or to encourage players to be more responsible. I was extremely surprised by the actual content. Why are we trying to encourage bad behavior? Does anyone think this will actually cause positive change to the game?

The second article was certainly not controversial, but lost me somewhere along the way because I couldn't find a point. I felt like someone had learned a new word and really really really wanted to use it. Microcosm. Whoo hooo. At least half the audience won't know what it means because it is not contextually explained and the rest is going to wonder why it was necessary to break out a five dollar word for a fifty cent article. I think everyone knows there are layers of communities within RS. We interact with our circle of close friends, our clan, and whatnot. This is just like real life and forming these types of groups is part of the point of multi-player games. If the point of the article was simply to explain that there are microcosms in RS, then I guess the obvious was accomplished. If somewhere in that epic article was a point about a benefit or why the writer likes them then I still find it kind of pointless. It might make a wonderful basis for a college sociology paper, but I don't think it was really relevant to the people here who are already a part of these structures. Cataloging them seems unnecessary.

I suppose now that I have spent my time excessively criticizing other writers, I should expect to get some in return. That's fine. I certainly deserve it. I just hope that the quality of articles starts improving again. Things have been rather dull lately.

    Daily lives in RS

Well.. not exactly true in Canifis.. rather the underground tunnel where you head for the Abyss part..

I continued to explore the leveling of Range through bloodvelds.. I realised more than half the time, I am the only one there.. I know not if its due to the Agility or Quest requirements that restricted others..

Anyhow, I am still seeing if I can get a half decent XP rates at those bloodvelds.. and I must say things are improving..

Managed to scrapped around 40k in an hour.. after learning of a better spot to safely range those crawlers.. while picking up my knives and coins..

Shall confirm the rates after I stay there abit longer.. but I am running out of knives.. :(

Counts as one of your five-a-day...

First entry on these shiney new boards. Big thanks to everyone who spent their time getting this sorted. =D>

Anyway, i'm currently at Uni, living the student life and enjoying it. Staying in a Uni flat with 3 other people and they're all preetty cool.

I'd like to update more on what i've been up to but, to be honest, the past few weeks have all kinda blurred into one (well, the nights at least. Been seeing a lot of Mister 5am lately ;) ). Just generic student stuff, classes during the day, somewhere with alcohol at night.

Also, gigs. Been to a load recently. No-one really big, just local/friends bands. Still a good night out though.

A journal of my goals and achievements throughout the game

Gained another level in Summoning today, bringing it up to Level 50. That used up most of my good charms, so it's back to slayer training to try to gain a few more. Current assignment is 176 Bloodvelds, not sure if they are a good source of charms, but they won't be hard to kill.

Really want to get back into farming and raise that up the rest of the way, but I can't seem to get a good rhythm going again like i used to. Farming was one of my favorite skills, well as long as I had something to alch. I would run a circuit of planting and end up in Catherby. Plant there and then alch till all were grown. But as I'm not alching anything, I hate getting into something like a slayer assignment and then feeling rushed to either finish to harvest/replant or pause the assignment to do it.

But that just brings me back to my main problem. I can't get focused on one skill to do any serious training without skipping off to a different one. But slowly I'll raise them all up.

A lovely day in London today, the sun is shining, birds are tweeting, squirrels scavenging, traffic booming! Gah, It was literally chocoblock today, we went to our local supermarket today which is about a 15 minute drive , on the way back traffic overflowed and what used to be a 15 minute drive back home became a two hour drive home. It was that bad. Oh well. lol

These A levels are litterally killing me, so much homework :( HELP.

How will i manage two years.. I DONT KNOW :( XD

    :D

When I woke up, I found out Bandos was starting to rise again, so I bought a plate for around mid. I left for college after that. After classes, there was a free sushi thing, so me and a couple friends went and ate tons of free sushi  Pretty fun day at school. I also had a math exam, which I am pretty sure I got 100% on. When I got home I did a bit of fishing, and got 80. That's one more 80 down, just like 14 to go  I also finished my slayer task of bloodvelds, getting me 89 strength and 122 combat. In the middle of the task, I was laying on my bed with my laptop. My cat irl started to meow, then jumped up on my bed and dropped a mouse on my arm. I had to log off really quick and try to catch the mouse to... get rid of it, but it got away and ran under my bed  I moved my bed and couldn't find it, but I have faith that puss will get it sooner or later. Then I got a task of abberrants, switched that cause I didn't feel like doing it, and got spiritual mages. Woohoo! I did about half the task so far, I will finish it tomorrow. I've got one boot drop so far. See you tomorrow!

EDIT: my cat caught the mouse!

    Who knows?

Hmm...day two. Today was a fun day. I have a four day weekend from school and took the time to catch up on forums that I didn't have time for during the week. Which led to a bit of drama in OT...oops. :-#

Runescape...clearing the bank...sold Giant Snail shells in Dorgesh'kaan. Made Tiara's with Silver. Cut Yews (got to test out my shiny new Lumberjack) and made Sacred Oil to burn Shades. Free [prize] if you guess what minigame I got those from.

    Nothing else noteworthy.

    Have a problem with that?

A Blog on Supa's Everyday Life.

You want another Blog post? OH REALLY? Oh Fine.

Well, what have I been doing, Not playing Runescape. That's for sure. (But don't tell anyone that).

Well, I've been working on a animation, which I don't have screens for yet. But it's progressing nicely, Just doing the animating now, and then have to do the voice work (Fun stuff voice work </sarcasm>).

A side project I've been working on is a Flash Game, you know, those annoying ones that are so much fun to play =P I can happily say I do have some screens for you that I can show you. Most Concept Art More Than Anything, but still.

So the game. Well the concept is that all the color has been sucked from the world by a evil corporation.

    Background1.jpg

(Here you can see in the beginnings of this grayscale background, which shows what the overall feel of the game will be)

The Protagonist is a experiment which was created by a good corporation who was experimenting on the color drain, and created him.

    PlayerRunningwithRAYMG.jpg

(Here you can see Version 1 of the player running with a weapon)

The Protagonist must run around and shoot all the evil people (Those details are still being worked out, But I have done the weapons, so I'm happy.)

    Weapons.jpg

(Going Left-to-right: RayMG, RayKatana. Bottom: RayLay)

Yeah, It's not that best, but it's still a work in progress.

So here's a call, If anyone wants to work on the game with me, fill free to contact me. Atm, looking for someone who is good at Actionscript (2.0 or 3.0), and someone who can make music. (I can AS, but I'm not amazing.)

Anyway, that's what's been going on in the flash department, apart from that, just being doing school I guess.

    Well, Catch you later!!
