Last thing today was barrow trip... and nothing actually dropped. Sad :/ But that was first trip I did w/o using even one dose of prayer potion :D Also used about 100 death runes, and drop was 256 d' runes. So I lost no cash on that trip.

I've been told a few times I'm lucky for my high stats(they aren't high but still) and I always ask them how it's lucky and they're speechless. The only place luck is in RS is in drops. I do seem quite lucky in terms of drops though(yay dharoks helm from barrows). Even though I don't do any bosses due to obvious low stats I'm sure luck is the same concept there. If you want to post your luck or beleifs about it in a comment I'll be more then happy to read it. Now I must go to fletch a few thousand more bows fore 70 fletching. With that I conclude.

So this morning saw the trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife park, an hour's road trip there and an hour back. Me being me, I awoke at 6:30 thinking we'd leave nice and early, before having to wait until 11:30 till the engine started and we had set off. Spent the journey with my headphones in pretending I was an awesome singer in my own little mind wowing the crowds...sad I know but it gives me some joy <3: . Pulling into the car park, we were greeted with a first view of the recurring theme of our day; disappointment. Driving along at 12:30 or so, people were already coming away from the park driving past us. Either it was shut, or they'd gotten up early/hadn't stayed for long. Fortunately, the latter was to be true and we parked up in what seemed like a building site. It had only been open for a year, and they were building a large lion enclosure next to the car park. Having stepped over many bricks and badly done paving, we entered the park.

£30. For three people, 2 adult and one student, £30. It wouldn't have been that bad, if the park wasn't a complete farm! We were offered half price on our next return, and reluctantly accepted...from what we'd seen so far, I doubt we'd be coming back any time soon. So, we took our tickets and walked into the park, to be met by a pair of girl's pink nickers on the wooden post. I didn't ask, gulped and continued on. Now, usually I wouldn't say judge a book by it's cover...however this was an exception. I would describe it as a petting zoo without the petting :P . We first stepped into the cafe to grab some Lunch, which was actually rather impressive for the state of the rest of it. Having nommed our way to being willing to give the park a second chance from our first impressions, we made our way to the first enclosure. Now, normally cows don't really wow me, but this was different. I mean, cows...WHO OPENS A ZOO AND HAS A COW PEN AS THEIR FIRST ENCLOSURE?! Quickly walking on, unattracted by the methane machines, we found the first "exotic" animals, the meerkat pen. There were about 5 or 6 in the colony, and being able to lean on the wooden enclosure and see them right by your feet on the other side was rather enjoyable. We came right in time to miss the talk, and waited for the crowd to disperse by paying the linking enclosure some attention. "Racoon Dogs" the sign read, and when I saw the animals, they were indeed a weird breed of racoon dog. I had never seen such a specimen before in my life, and doubt I will ever again, however this was one of the more enjoyable sights of the day. Once the crowd had dispersed from the meerkat area, we spent some time watching the meerkats go about their work, digging for no apparent reason and having 2 of the meerkats on Sentry Duty, I wondered why in a year the meerkats hadn't realised there were no predators coming any time soon. The next enclosure told me why.

Now, I apologise if I offend anyone reading if they've had a nasty chicken mishap before, but the closure across from the meerkats was incredibly laughable. Before me, a wooden fence, mesh gate and a third metal wall divided me from the dangerous chickens I could see inside. I mean...without even mentioning chickens as an attraction in a "zoo", I find it ridiculous how I could practically pick up a meerkat and put it in my pocket, then be totally kept out of bounds of the evil chickens. Either the meerkats were scared, or in disbelief it seemed. We then proceeded down a long path, with enclosures surrounding us. In them, yet more farm animals. A pond with geese, ducks and some pidgeons (I still can't work out if they were part of the attraction since it was so bad), some goats and a donkey enclosure were on show. I spent some time with a Donkey that looked about as depressed as I did at the zoo, whom I called Graham. After ten minutes or so, A man came with his children to the donkey enclosure, looked at the other donkey and said "That is not my Donkey", then proceded to walk on. Erm...?

So, having assumed he became delusional from the high price of the low quality attraction, I walked into what I thought would be very exciting; the Wallaby Walkabout. It did what it said on the tin, offered visitors a chance to walk in the Wallaby enclosure and get up close and personal with the Aussie immigrants. So you can imagine my disappointment when we were told to stick to the path, and the Wallaby's came nowhere near. Disappointed, I left and headed into Lemur Wood. I do have to say, this was an excellent experience. In Berlin Zoo, i'd seen a similar thing, a chance to walk about with Lemurs and have them very close to you, and this is what I got. Infact, a Lemur came up to my leg and even gave me a hug! If anything good can be salvaged from this trip, it was a Lemur hug <3: . Anyway, I spent most of my time in there, watching them climb the trees and scare children out of their knickers (which explained my first encounter). Anyhow; I met some more animals that didn't really wow me, like pigs and some Horses. Other animals included Wild Dogs (Who were getting it on), Camels (Who were at the very back, unnoticed), Eagles (Who were chained down, unable to fly ;_;) and Zebras. Having spent only 2 hours around the attraction, we packed up and headed for the exit. However, we stumbled across an "Animal Talk" show, which we stopped to watch. That was really enjoyable, i've never touched a snake before...and there was a cute pair of Ferrets named Frankie and Benny <3: .

So, today's trip? Not as good as I expected, however was fun taking the mickey out of it all the time with my family and seeing some of the nicer things x) . Fresh air and Road trips ftw <3.

Thought I would start a blog, and what a day to start on...April Fools.

I'm not quite sure what to write about here so I'll talk about some sites I saw today that had good April fool jokes, one of which being the runescape site.

Now I don't play runescape any more, but I thought that I may as well check it out today to see what Jagex had done for their attempt at fooling everyone. In all honesty it did make me laugh, mainly because i can imagine quite a few of the players on runescape nowadays falling for that. A Jagex/Runescape theme park? XD They have also put quite a lot of detail and effort into their map :P "Thats right, at the end of 2010, we will formally be opening our doors and portculli, allowing you all to come and meet your favourite personalities, experience the thrills of living in RuneScape, and even sample its varieties of cheese." I can see kids who play runescape, who clearly aren't over 13, falling for this quite easily :P

My second site to show would be a classic, and that site is Google. Google boasted about their latest creation...a beta version of an animal translator xD.

This is my first entry in my tip.it blog so, it might be long.

I've been playing Runescape on and off for years; I joined 2-3 months after they introduced RS2 and free-to-play people could still play Classic. I regrettably never got around to playing Classic. I don't remember the year or what my very first account's name was, I just remember making my second account a few short weeks later; Muffin Daddy. I'm a girl, but this was a nickname that my (ex)girlfriend gave me, due to my love of Muffins and "Muffin Moma" sounded awkward to us.

I played a lot on Muffin Daddy, mostly because I had friends that played that I met in a Yahoo chat room (back when you could have user submitted chats), they kept me motivated to play. The more I played on free to play, the more frustrated I became with the lack of content available for f2p people. So, I asked my friends what I could do; they suggested that I either buy members, try pk'ing or quit. Only one of those was even possible for me and that was to try pk'ing. I went with one of my friends out in the wild and accidentally hit him while trying to walk, getting skulled. We walked around until we found some other players collecting planks and I went in for my first kill. I killed him and didn't get a whole lot, just addy plate legs and some planks.

We ran to the bank and restocked on food and went back out, this time, a higher level friend of the person I just killed stalked us until we were deeper into the wild, acting like he just wanted to go kill other people with us. Eventually, he started hitting my friend and he tele'd out and pm'd me to do the same, I lagged while trying to do Varrock teleport (because I was still on dial-up) and died, losing everything I owned of significant value (full rune). I just stared at my screen as I saw my bare character standing in Lumbridge. As the shock wore off, I just became completely ticked off with Runescape and thus, I took my first break away from it and started playing other games.

Time went by and I found myself back on runescape, fishing and cooking lobs on Karamja to make up enough money to get full rune again. This was before Grand Exchange so, if you wanted to sell anything, you had to stand around and spam what you were selling. I eventually got the money together and got back into the swing of playing regularly, not stepping foot into the wild ever again. I played so much that I got burnt out on playing and went back to playing other games.

It was in that period of time that my (at the time) girlfriend and I broke up, I was devastated and I think I was playing Flyff at the time. I was bored with Flyff though so, decided to play RS once again, but I couldn't play on Muffin Daddy anymore, the name was tainted and the only thing I could do, at the time, was make a new account and start fresh.

It was in this period that I'd make a new account and try to out-do Muffin's skill levels, I'd always play and play until I got bored, take a break again and come back and create yet another new account. As it stands, I have 16 Runescape Accounts because of this.

In October, 2009, I made the account that I currently am playing on, to make videos for Youtube, demonstrating how fast you could level your skills in just a month. I never had any intentions of playing the account longer than 1 month, but due to the popularity of the vlog series, I decided to play on! It was because of my subscribers that I finally, after so many years of f2p, decided to get members for the first time. I was bombarded with new information, new skills, new equipment, new everything. I had to try doing everything and I did.

Around January, I did take a break from Runescape, my membership was due to run out and I had a trip to The Netherlands that I had to get ready for. I was going to meet my girlfriend for the first time, on our 1 year anniversary and Valentine's Day.

Soon as I got back from my trip, I was bored and decided to pick back up where I left off on Runescape, I got members again and trained some skills randomly and it dawned on me, seeing so many people running around with skill capes on that had been playing far less time than I have. I have no 99's... I have nothing to show for the time and effort that I've put into this game.

I've become determined to get a 99, I'm going for one of the easier ones, but in my eyes, it's still something worth working hard for.

99 Fletching, here I come.

Hello World, I couldnt think of a better opener than what was already here. Anyway, Im bogging again, finally I hope this time I will keep it up for a bit more than a week; that is, as long as Jagex keep updating Runescape. Otherwise I have nothing to talk about I can tell you that todays blog will NOT include the easter event.

Ok, my first topic of the day is the fairly recent update named Fish flingers, it was a lucky coincidence that at the time I was working on 85 fishing (which I still havent yet achieved). I really expected the community to be revved up about this new distraction and diversion, I certainly was. Needless to say, the usual outpour of rants and the flame wars that follow swamped the forums just minutes after the update; before anyone could actually get any idea of the update or what it had to offer.

I was quite a skeptic about the Pro-jagex community and a few of their views, that was however until this update pushed me (slightly) in their direction. I understood beforehand that nearly every update is proceeded by rants and various obscenities being posted across many webpages, but I never considered its utter pointlessness.

So with me working hard (afking), fishing monks; I decided to check out the experience points on offer for completing a (I will call it) game of Fish Flingers. I knew that the rewards (a tackle box or some free fish) wouldnt reach the value (or anywhere near as I found out) that of fishing trawler, so rewards were away from the point.

I unearthed one of my biggest frustrations early on; the sheer difficulty of getting into a game on time (or at least worrying about it) made going any distance from the fishing guild an impossibility, so instead I wasted over an hour fishing tuna and swordfish waiting for the Master Fishers or whatever they were called to appear Which they never did (or at least, I wasnt there to see them).

Although, the counter argument could be that no D+D is easy to get to, and that this is probably the easiest D+D to get to; with the requirement of spending some time in the fishing guild (which is no bad thing for a fisher). Anyway; the game its self (Im sure you have tried already, so Ill summarise) is easy to grasp if you ask a few questions.

After playing the first ever game of it; the mass confusion entertained and annoyed me at the same time But what I seriously appreciated were the people who readily offered their setups (most 100% effective). This is the complete opposite to what I call Virtual-Capitilism and it makes me smile; a community, whether online or off should always work together and to see this in Runescape is somewhat rare.

Basicly, if you really havent played the game before you need to get a set up that works 100% effectively with the type of fish you are catching. Certain areas (a beach or a dock prehaps) have exclusivity to certain fish (cod for example). Your aim is to get the right bait, the right hook, the right rod and the right weights. This can be achieved through trial and error, but sometimes you only have to wait for people to tell you.

The game on the whole isnt what you would call fun, but neither is it hard work So it would definitely appeal to either the Afking community or the grind till you drop community. One major upside (I believe) is that it brings a lot of people together, so it could I suppose be used as regular clan events or just something different to do. Ive noticed recently that Jagex are making alternative ways to train (Xp rates remain about the same, maybe lower), through mini games or D+Ds like this Its a great addition to the game, but there are those who dont believe in it, if thats you feel free to comment below!

Todays clan event (one I actually attended) was barrows; sadly, Ork (our GMT event guy Pwnage Name) his internet died Right before the easter holidays as well. More on the event, for the first time today I actually tried out using a black salamander. I must say, if you were planning to use the slayer dart, this is far more cost-effective and hits probably more than the dart.

I cant say Im the biggest fan of barrows; the effort of buying and selling potions, food and runes just annoys me I guess I was lucky that one of our clan members had a spare 600 or so harralander tar to sell me. It only cost me 50k or so, so compared to 600 slayer darts, I think you can see the price reduction already!

While there I was wondering if this mini game or activity as they are now called needed updating; compared to the likes of stealing creation (a far more modern and number coordinated mini game) this activity belonged to runescape classic. Yet isnt the point I wonder that mini games are supposed to be fun? I understand the excitement of finally reaching your loot, knowing that a barrows item isnt as rare as they are made out to be

So, no major update needed in my opinion A few tweaks here and there prehaps. I know they added a list of who you have killed recently and thats a step in the right direction, I just think maybe a loot chance % so people can finally find out whether killing all those dungeon rats (whatever they are called) was worth it. But maybe that takes away the fun, I dunno.

My fav thing to do is play RS and my fav word is Noodles

Well a long time ago I started playing this good game we all call 'scape, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself playing solo for awhile. I decided to try out clan wars one day and low and behold I found myself immersed in the world of clanning. For the past years since that moment I've been in and out of a few clans, prefering to stay loyal and honourbound to those I was tied to, and have succeeded in becoming a very good clanner and have improved my logical mind and my tactical vision even further (although I'm not sure what use they will play in the years to come.)

For these past years, nothing has ever been wrong with my life, I've been well-able to balance 'scaping and lifing and have maintained very good grades in school, 90% and higher averages to be precise. Recently however, my grades have taken a slip. I went on vacation and came back to find myself with 65%'s in Chemistry and Biology, and a 70% in math. My dreams of going to medical school (McMasters hopfully<3) flew before my eyes when I saw that, and I resolved that this needs to change.

I guess this story isn't just mine, many of you out there are probably suffering similar 'conditions' and are having grades slip, or losing your social lives. My question is where to draw the line, I am not quitting, but merely retiring for clanning for the weeks it takes me to improve my marks, because in the end, getting into Medical School will almost guarantee my life goes well down the road, the good game of 'scape won't, and while I'll still be playing for awhile, my marks will deffinitely be the priority from now on.

Started reading The Running Man by Stephen King. I've seen a few movies with that kind of futuristic scenario, and it's pretty scary. It got me thinking-- Could something like that actually happen?

Well!! I've decided to return to my 76 Fishing Goal, as of now I'm about 130k from 76 and just achieved 75!! :thumbsup:

It's getting a bi late so I'll reach 76 perhaps tomorrow depending on homework :thumbdown: I know I have a few projects due Friday and a Book report soon so not sure. :sad:

Hoping that after 76 Fishing that'll give me the option to read a book or surf the web while bringing in a bit of cash. Plus, Fishing pays off tremendously in the long run...espacially with the spectacular Cape and lovely Emote. <3:

For the future I hope to alternate between mostly Sharks and Monkfish until 90 Fishing then between Rocktail (have heard wonderful things about these), Shark, and Monkfish for great money and great xp! This should pay off with a 100M+ profit at the end of 99 in the not very near at all future. :P Maybe I'll shoot for 99 on a serious scale towards Summer Vacation.

Well, It's getting late and I've got boring school yet again tomorrow. Good night for now!! :D

After a crazy week or two, I now have time to play RS. So I go to my local slayer master to get a task, and for the 4th time in a row now I have gotten Basilisks. I don't have anything against them, but i would have liked something new. Well onto more importent things, on double xp weekend I jumped from 38 construction to 65 for the cost of 750k and my weekend. So exciting to think of all the things I can now blow my savings on in the name of impressing all 4 people who will be visting my house! well there are a few things I do need, but to put them in i'm going to have to pull the whole trainwreck apart and make it user friendly... thank god. As a bonus on double xp weekend I also got my herblore and summoning above 40 so now I have no skills under level 40. So all in all i think it was a good use of my time and energy. Today I got to 1400 total levels and the ability to get into the warriors guild so I might try that later. don't know if I'll try for the defenders or not, but I think the games in there sound fun. On a sadder note I have another quest I have added to my will never help a friend with that list, it joins such names as Ernest the Chicken and many others, One Small Favor is so distructive to my psyche that I am never going to mention it again, but I have to do it. I should note for everyone out there that I did Ernest the Chicken without a quest guild :ohnoes: . Well back to RS and my slayer task, Cheers!

Quick update. First of all, I managed to reach 86 Mining and 220k xp yesterday. That equates to around 4 hours of mining. If I were to keep this pace up then I would reach 99 Mining over the next 37 days. Unfortunately, I have a short attention span and can lose patience very easily, so no promises.

Today, I plan on...you got it...more Mining. Before I go out though I want to do the circus and penguin hunt D&Ds. I hate doing these. Maybe it's because Distrations and Diversions does not sound like something a guy who has ADD like me should be doing. I keep putting them off (that sounds like more like me) because I don't really want to do them, and before I know it a week has gone by and they have reset. They are irritating to do, but the rewards are just good enough not to pass up.

I used to do Evil Trees and Shooting Star ones as well, till I began to realize it was more of a pain to wait and find these things than worth it. But apparently all of you love them lots, because Jagex keeps releasing more and more and more D&Ds. How much time do we waste with these things? I have never done the Familiarisation; the reward sounded like junk and the game sounded boring. I don't know anybody who does do this D&D, but I'm sure somebody out there does. I still haven't completed the first statue in the museum in Shattered Heart either. It isn't something I go out of my way to find, but only something I work on if I happen to come across the strange rocks. I might have to wait 30 weeks to hear from other players who manage to complete their statue in their house to see if it's really worth it.

That reminds me though. Before I do anything I need to finish editing this week's Times articles. I've been distracted from my duties this week. So that's: edit the Times, Distract and Divert, and get 87 Mining. Time to pop my Ritalin and get to work.

Well...I've lost membership for awhile on my main account, Iz Bud and am stuck with no bank space, expensive items, etc., so I've decided to try my hand at an F2P Pure that I've heard a lot of good things about...A Range/2H'er!!

After doing a lot of research on many types of F2P Pures and the techniques of PKing and Training, I've come to the conclusion of a Range/2H'er. So from now on I'll be playing mainly on iPK UnNoobs. I hope that this experience turns out to be a great one!!

Ready for the Experience Weekend

Taking a good look at that...30.2M. What I had bought were some of the seconds, all of the shards, and some of the Summoning reagents. That's it. I didn't directly spend a single GP on any of those herbs; proof that MTK pays big dividends.

(Not listed: The sharks involved getting Bunyips, nor the counts of the charms.)

All told, this stack of stuff in normal times would get me about:

333,857,5 exp in Herblore (+2 levels),

281,456 exp in Summoning (+2 levels),

105,000 exp in Runecrafting, (+2 levels),

No less than 35,820 exp in Crafting, (+0 levels)

and un-computable amounts of experience in Magic/Agility/Thieving.

It's not nearly as insane as you think - it's not likely I can get those values in an hour (with the exception of Crafting - that's probably dead easy), so the experience rate I get, while substantially high, isn't going to go nuts on the world.

A Formal Proof for Unique/Rare RuneScape Names

(The proof to end all debate about rare names)

For those that have seen logic notation before, or know set notation, this should come as a bit of a laugh to you.

What does it state?

Basically, we create a universe denoted by the script U of all the usernames that exist in RuneScape. Then, we state as a given fact that your name is in that universe.

We create another variable n to represent universal and existential quantifiers to demonstrate the proof (your name only occurs once, remember?).

The proof reads, starting from the 'upside-down' A:

"For all n (in the set U), there exists one and only one x (in the set U) such that x is not equal to n."

Quod Erat Demonsratum (and thus, is proven).

For those that are actually doing proof-based logic or First-Order Predicate Calculus, please let me know what mistakes I've made at 5:30 in the morning.

Okay, I realize my goof - the "there exists" should be in front of the "for all", so it would read like this:

"There exists one and only one x (in the set U) such that, for all n (in the set U), x is not equal to n."

A little output from a script I wrote to extract my stats from the high scores. I want to do a comparison of these at the end of the weekend.

So I Got To lvl 17 Hunter :) Which brought me an 800k proffit.. I'm thinking of staying at polar kebbits till lvl 27 then ill make a 1.7mil.

Also i got 40 Magic today.. Only 10lvl's to go to for my goal.. i Only need magic for camy teleport :)

i love the idea of experience weekend and this is the time ill get my def to level 70 :P

Well, for anyone who actually bothers to read this when I update, here it goes.

Firstly, I've stopped RCing due to a lack of motivation, the 500k ess is still in my bank, as a way of keeping money.

Anyway, as to why I've lost my motivation.

As I posted as a comment on Xecer's Blog (he tells me to say he is awesome, or he will hurt kittens, so people, to protect the kittens, Xecer is awesome), I was able to spend some time with my girlfriend. Yeah, bit of a distance between us, but she is worth it.

I'll sum up the few days.

Sunday 14th: I arrived to the town in which she resides, spent a few hours with her.

Monday 15th: Went around the shops in her town, along with spending some time with her in the hotel room. The Forbidden Planet there sucked, first time I've ever been in one and the ground floor is full of Twilight [cabbage], and to make it worse, they didn't have the Ghost in the Shell manga. I think this is the day when I bought Blood: The Last Vampire and the Underworld Trilogy, also finished the book she gave me (Patient Zero)

Tuesday 16th: Pretty much the same as the day before, nothing notable, but I did only go down to spend time with her. Ate in a Chinese restaurant, it's different from what I'm used to, so I couldn't eat much, bought the Watchmen graphic novel and Battle Royale.

Wednesday 17th: This day, we saw The Wolfman, was absolute pish, but I liked being with her.

Thursday 18th: The day I had to leave, she met me earlier than she had on other days, since I was leaving around 3pm.

That's about it for my trip.

Books

Patient Zero, Jonathan Maberry - It's about zombies, what more could you want? It basically follows a few days surrounding the events of terrorism and their "zombie" virus. Though, they are actually called "Walkers" in this. It's actually a good read, if you can get past it switching between the current events through the eyes of the terrorists/the main character and the events that lead up to it, from the terrorists' side.

Watchmen, Alan Moore - I'd seen the film first, but this completely wins over it in all ways possible, I'd definitely recommend reading this if you haven't already.

Battle Royale, Koushun Takami - I haven't seen the film in its entirety, however, it's always intrigued me. The novel is, as you'd expect, a good read, and definitely worth the time it takes to read.

Movies

I have to say, this sucked, I wouldn't reccomend it to anyone. Apparently someone in my class at college also saw it, he said it sucked too. Don't know whether I went first or not, but I was away from college, so I saw it with my girlfriend.

Next came Blood: The Last Vampire (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0806027/

This film appealed to me the first time I heard about it, just by the time I could actually buy it in stores, it was impossible to find, I luckily came across it a few weeks ago, and I have to say, I enjoyed it. It was lacking a bit, but was overall, enjoyable for the (roughly) 90 minutes.

After that, it was Underworld (2003) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0320691/

Never actually bothered with this series of films before, but all 3 for £20, and a reccomendation from my girlfriend compelled me to buy it. Again, was planning on getting it months ago, but I was underage, and I rarely go up town. A good movie overall.

Next, it was Underworld: Evolution (2006) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0401855/

Really can't add more than what I said about Underworld.

And just today, I went to the cinema to see The Crazies (2010) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455407/

I can't really judge this compared to the 1973 version, as I haven't seen that yet, I'll probably pick it up at some point. Overall, I enjoyed this film, the tension was done well, though after a few times, you started to expect things to happen, yet at one point I can honestly say I didn't see something coming when it did, perhaps I should have. Possibly seeing this again on Thursday with a mate, assuming nothing comes up, it is definitely a film I think enough of to view again in the cinema, it could possibly be one of my favourite movies.

I'm still got a few to watch, starting with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0834001/

I've got to watch this prequel to the previous films, just because I don't like watching something without seeing the whole series, if it is a series of films.

Next, I'll be watching Dead Snow (2009) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278340/

Its got zombies. I don't need any other reason. Was on offer on blu-ray at 2 for £25.

And the last of my recent purchases, 30 Days of Night (2007) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0389722/

I was having trouble deciding on a second film to choose (part of the previously mentioned offer) when I saw this in there. I was mildly interested in this film a year or two ago, but never watched it, so it's the reason why I chose it over some other choices. (Hot Fuzz for one, which I've previously seen.)

I have to say, I'm quite enjoying being 18 now and being able to purchase the films I'm interested in when I see them, could have tried it before (like I accidentally did with Watchmen, thought it was a 15 for some reason) but I disliked the thought of being caught out and asked for I.D, which of course, I wouldn't be able to produce, however, I make sure to carry I.D. with me now.

I want to talk about the difference between science and experience for a bit, and how it applies to something like Runescape.

Experience is universally applied--no matter what situation you're in. Experience comes simply from doing something. For example, I am experienced with using a computer in a variety of different ways. Consequently, I tend to navigate through file systems and the web much faster than people who aren't as comfortable with it. Experience is easy to get--at stays with you through you lifetime.

Science isn't the same thing--but the two are related. Science is factual. The main difference between science and experience is that science is transferable. Science is communal in nature. Science has a few different stages to it: Hypothesis, Experiment, Data, and Theory. Theory is the best way to communicate, because it is easy to remember and yields a lot of information. When you can put it into an equation format, and your equation yields results effectively identical to what is observed, the theory is sound and can be used. In "doing" science, you gain experience, and experience improves the quality of the science.

In Runescape, there is a lot of experience. You're even given a score for it (XP). The problem with experience is that it is non-transferable, and anything you gained with it will stay with your character, and will be lost when you stop playing. Consequently, there is almost no complete science in Runescape. Tip.it has some of it in their beastary. Beastary is a gem of knowledge in Runescape--and really only lacks estimates for drop probabilities (which would require an immense amount of science and investment). Players with experience can make better hypothesis than those without--and usually can provide invaluable input into experimental design.

What we lack in Runescape is experiment, data and theory. No body seems interested in simply writing down how much they hit for, on average--or how much they gain per hour. This is strange to me, since every other MMO I've played has not been lacking in experiment, data, or theory. Every other MMO has begun providing a Damage-per-second statistic in your character sheet--something that evolved entirely out of game theory. Anyone who plays knows that there are many more important things involved in combat than Damage Per Second--but it's become the holy grail of combat metrics and capability because it is useful. Nobody could tell me what the average DPS of a combat level 100 with an abyssal whip is, because no one has bothered to record their data.

What we lose in not doing science on an MMO is a clear path for improvement. Experience knows only what is, but usually has very little insight into what could be. Data and theory can give us some hint of that. Knowing that the highest DPS available in Runescape is 15 damage per second would give us a clear understanding what going from 8.3 DPS to 8.7 DPS means. This would make our knowledge of the game transferable, and would make Runescape more fun to play for everyone.

Lastly, it'd give the developers a good idea of what values could be tweaked to make the game more exciting. If we knew what effects disease had on our DPS, or the average difference between earth and fire spells when fighting metal dragons, then we could give a clear indicator for an "upgraded" form of a monster for Jagex to develop. Making our observations known would enable Jagex to clearly know what kinds of spells we want, and what kinds of enemies and items would make the game more interesting.

So, like I said, Science is communal, and everyone benefits from it.

Well, this morning I garnered my very first Fire Cape. :smile: Interestingly, I didn't have trouble staying calm after dying to the mighty Jad five times before this. Losing to him a couple times yesterday put me in an odd spot last night, though--I kept dreaming about prayer switching. And you know what? I was much better at it when I woke up! Must be one of those things which is 90% mental... Got 85 Ranged in the process.

Also achieved 90 Slayer, so looking forward to trying out the Dark Beast, although I'm hoping for more of the Wyrms right now. Three desert tasks and still no focus sight... It'll come. Getting 90 Slayer also brought me 93 Strength and 94 HP with 92 Defense soon to follow.

Also made my first extreme range and magic pots. Boosting to 106 Ranged from 85 is very nice. :smile:

Still got to work up the desire to train Hunter to 80 so then I can get Construction to 80... <_<

EDIT: Found out a little while ago that my Fire Cape has been nerfed to some extent with the Ice Strykewyrm changes coming next week. What's picked my day up now is the fact that I just got a Focus sight from a Desert Wyrm task. "It looks like it'll help my aim..."

Well, didn't accomplish much today.

I'm getting close to leveling 4 skills, about to hit 90 woodcutting(one of my goals for February), cleaned out MTK today for a little more in supporting funds.

Probably not going to get to play much tomorrow either, work will keep me busy through most of the evening.

I'm considering working towards 99 Woodcutting, but I'm not certain yet.

Either way, I'm hanging on to my trusty D Hatchet. :D

I recently decided i might star blogging again :)

I used to do it about 3 quarters of a year ago, but got bored of RS and quit. It was never relaly a popular blog or big, but i guess i liked seeing how i progressed :)

But anyway, since that break ive started playing rs again (as you could probably guess).

My main goal in my old blog was 92 hunter. I was at lvl 92 when i stopped it. Since i came back in mid december ive reached level 99 :)

Since then ive been working on 60+ all skills, with only 2 summoning levels (which ive got charms for) and 8 prayer levels to go.

I doubt ill update this often and whenever i do upate it it wont be with pictures (nearly guaranteed), but ill probably just update daily with levels and stuff.I guess my most recent level is 77 hp, i got it as i wrote this. :)

Anyway thats that. Theres a high chance ill never do another one of these, or that ill end up doing 5 a day, who knows.

Well, last night I took my bestfriend to the John Mayer show, It was both our first concert, and we both had an amazing time, best night ever!

Side Bar - Working on 54 theving for DT, but my character seems to be stuck at ftp clan wars :P ohh well, no rushh :) Oh and its reading week, so no schoooooool...awesome
