Latest entry by K4ylan,
Well, I decided to make another pure, K4ylan Ii. Seriously, I must've made like 30 pures already. And the funny thing is, I barely pk'ed on them. This is the first time I've started seriously pk'ing since '07. I started with 30 atk, 34 str, 29 constitution, ended up with36 strand 30 hp after about an hour out. Only 28 combat, so kinda difficult to get a fight. Not to mention 50 low level mages trying to pj me. Found some good fights, although one guy dm'ed me, then ran
. I got 3 kills, only took a picture of two of them, cause the second one had no drop. Died to a level 30 a little later on. I coulda killed him, but forgot to bring a finishing weapon. Next time I won't be as stupid (hopefully). Anyway, here are the drops, I'll post more later. They're nothing special at all....

A blog of my accomplishments and life.
Latest entry by CannibalAngel,
Hello everyone!
Hello everybody and welcome to my blog! I have returned to the world of Runescape! I have a LOT to catch up on so I am making this blog to track my progress. Lets get started!
[spoiler=Lets start out by telling you a little bit about myself.]
My name is Robert. I am a 25 year old male from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. I currently work for US Bank on there Transaction Help Desk (my official job title is "Help Desk Specialist 2"). I have worked here for the past 2 years. Before US Bank I worked at my local Shop N Save (a grocery store) in the deli. I worked there for 2 years while going to college. I went to college (a technical trade school) where I earned my Associates in Science degree in Information Technology: Network Security and Computer Forensics. I am currently living with my girlfriend of 3 years in a pretty nice 2 bedroom apartment in Avalon Pennsylvania (right outside of Pittsburgh). In the next year or so I plan to start getting IT certifications and looking for a new job. I am going to start with the Network+ exam and go from there. If anyone wants to know more about me just ask and I will try my best to answer.
Now for what you all came here for. My Runescape goals and progress!
[spoiler=I should start by telling you a little bit about my Runescape history.]
I started playing Runescape in either late 2001 or early 2002. I started in RS Classic and moved to Runescape 2 (Now just Runescape and what most people are playing now). I had a blog on TIF back then but I have changed computers a few times and don't remember my log in credentials so I just created this account on here. I quit playing a few years back (sometime between 2004 and 2006). I just got bored with the game and didn't have time to play anymore. When I quit I sold everything in my bank that I could and dropped the rest of my items that I could not sell. I logged in a few times since I quit just to see how the game had changed and if there were any new skills. Every now and then I would buy something like a Halloween mask or a Santa Hat. Something rare and that I could afford. I would keep it for a few days or weeks then log back in and sell it again. One day I bought all of my armor back (I was free to play at this time) and a bunch of runes. I then tried to get 99 Firemaking and bought all the Maple logs that I would need to get that (as it is my favorite skill cape). That lasted about 1 hour until I got bored with it. I sold the remainder of my logs. After about a week or so I tried to get 99 Cooking. I bought the Lobsters to get it but never got around to starting to go for it and eventually sold the Lobsters. This basically brings us to present time.
I will not be playing every day and when I do play I am not going to be playing for very long (maybe 1-4 hours when I get on). I will at least try to be on every Wednesday (as that is the only consistent day that I am off work and I can play for a longer period of time). If you have any questions feel free to post on here and ask!
[spoiler=My current goals!]
Here are the goals I am currently working on:
Training my combat skills through Slayer and Pest Control
(Getting an un-trimmed Constitution cape in the process [i will train Attack, Strength, and Defence to 98 in that order. Hopefully I will have 99 Constitution by then. If not, I should be close so I will just train Ranged until I get it. Then, I will train Attack, Strength, and Defence to 99 [in that order]].)
96 Herblore(I will be making Super Attack, Super Strength, Super Defence, Super Restore, Magic, Ranged, and Saradromin Brews until I can make Extremes. Then I will make all of my Super Attack, Super Strength, Super Defence, Ranged, and Magic potions into Extremes. I will then make Saradromin Brews and Super Restores until 96 and then make all of my Extremes into Overloads. I am going to buy all of the Herbs, 2nd ingredients, and Vials. [i will do some herb farming getting seeds from Slayer and MTK]).

Since I have the attention span of a shrimp, I already set some new goals...
I wanted to get 99 magic through string jewellery, but I deemed that too boring for my taste :D So yea, I'm getting 85 dungeoneering now!
:Why?" you may ask, .... well, I still want 99 magic. So I figured that fire surging frost dragons would be nice exp, and it would get me 99 prayer as well!
...so that's what I will be doing...

There is no spoon?
Latest entry by Neos_Matrix,
Yeah, this is starting to get freaky. I had 5 days left of membership then I left my account in the lobby for 5 minutes. When I came back, it had jumped from 5 days to 34 DAYS. Why am I panicking? Because I'm not entirely sure if my friend that pays for my membership is getting charged or not. So far, this has happened twice. Scared like heck now :ohnoes:

Just... stuff
Latest entry by MstrMonopoly,
10. Kamil (Desert Treasure) - Level 154
By a hair, over Dessous, Fareed, and Damis.
9. Elvarg (Dragon Slayer) - 83
The one. The only.
8. Nezkichened (Legend's Quest) - Level 187
Difficult at the time, not so much now.
7. Decaying Avatar (Nomad's Requiem) - Level 525

The other boss from Nomad's Requiem has 25,000 LP and higher defence than Nomad, and can hit well into the 400's. However, his attacks are made much less deadly by the fact that there are safespots and that he cannot hit through Protect from Melee. However, his defence is so high that the boss fight can end when the player runs out of supplies, and one misclick can result in healing of up to 10,000 lifepoints. This battle tests the concentration of the player. If you, as I did, start paying attention to the chat, you're in danger of having to restart the entire fight over again.
6. Zenevivia (Love Story) - Level 246

Don't let the looks fool you - Zenevivia can easily kill an unprepared adventurer (such as myself on the day that this quest came out). She has a deadly fire pit spell that can deal a lot of damage as well as Blood Barrage. Also, she's not easily meleed without a Dragon or Zamorakian spear to knock her off of her pedestal. If tips and tricks are known, Zenevivia is fairly easy, however.
The top 5 are clearly more powerful than anything before them. These are the only boss fights that might be challenges for a higher-level player.
5. The Inadequacy (Dream Mentor) - Level 343

I personally found The Inadequacy to be extremely easy. However, my friends have assured me that's not always the case. You can start off with its high-200s max hit that's accurate and can't be prayed upon (get the pun?). It also summons level 78's called "A Doubt(s?)", which can hit in the mid-100s.
4. Balance Elemental (While Guthix Sleeps) - Level 454

The Balance Elemental is essentially the hardest "standard" quest boss. It has quite a bit of LP (2750) and hits 300+ with all styles. There are no gimmicks. Like many of the boss fights, this one is DDS fodder if you're on a high level, or a struggle if you're just around level 100.
(If I had chosen to list all bosses from one quest in one article, Dream Mentor's bosses would have gone here.
3. Dagannoth Mother (Blood Runs Deep) - Level 353

This is a pretty annoying boss for two reasons. First of all, the new autocast system makes it difficult to cycle between spells. Second of all, it hits like a truck if you fumble with the interface. Which you will. Oh, and also, you have to fight two level 192 Dagannoth Sentinels beforehand unless you want to bank over and over again.
2. Pest Queen (The Void Stares Back) - Level 599

The Pest Queen, the newest Quest Boss in RuneScape, is also probably the second-most powerful. It absolutely murders anyone who doesn't have a clue about what to do or doesn't pay attention to the whole screen. Also, without a high defence level, it can hit very hard. In addition, it takes the player by surprise if they haven't been prepping for the fight by reading a guide. All this adds up to about 1/4th of the best monster on the list.
1. Nomad (Nomad's Requiem) - Level 699

Surely, you didn't expect to see anyone else at the top of this list? Nomad's 4 attacks in main form (magic, landmines, soul blast, and INFINITY MINUS ONE BLAST) are all capable of hitting 300+, lag results in death, and a simple misclick to one step can also end catastrophically. Oh yeah, and it has 12,500 life points. To make matters better, items are regained upon death, but this is still by far the most challenging Quest Boss and one of the most challenging in the game.

Latest entry by Frixeon,
These are just going to be highlights of what I did today on RuneScape.
Today, I was cutting willows in Dranyor Village to train my woodcutting. One of the first trees I cut dropped a bird's nest. I never got one before so I picked it up. As I was looking at the options I saw "Search" so I searched it. Inside there was a Maple seed. I wasn't traning farming or anything so I checked the price on the Price Checker ( convenient name, huh? ). I wouldn't believe my luck! It was worth 31k! 31k just for cutting a tree? w00t!
And that my friends, was my highlight of RuneScape for today.

st00f to do with me, pixel or *shudder* the real world
Well, as the title suggests, im annoyed.
My members runs out in two days, and i have no access to runescape in that time, and have about 20m in members items, and a 5m cashpile. I want to to end my members with full sara, zammy, guthix rune, like last time I did- when I get members again, ill sell the items, possibly for profit, possibly for loss- I dont really mind, as im leaving 7.5m cash in my coffers, so the herbs, nests and maples I get from that should make up any losses I have!

You heard right, I've been skilling. I want 2300 total so I'm working on my lower skills that I've always disliked.
Need 85 hunter eventually, working on agility first before I advance with this.

Working on this currently, 80 agility is my current goal as it will allow me to do the gnome adv. with pies and catch sapphire butterflies.

Got 85 banked. Pretty boring to train but I'll get it done eventually.

I also need to make about 30m for 81-85 crafting and that should also net me the effigies for 75 runecrafting. So i have plenty of goals in the works.

As part of the degree I'm aiming to get, I have to do programming courses for the credit, so I'd log some of the stuff I've worked on here. The first major assignment?
"You are selling jars of honey at a fruit stand. The cost of a jar is $5.40 per jar or 3 jars for $15.00. There is also a 10.0% tax added to the cost of the purchase. Write a C++ program that asks the user to input the number of jars of honey purchased and display to the monitor the cost of the jars, the tax, and the total amount due. The cost per jar, cost per 3 jars, and the tax should be constants. Remember for more than 3 jars, the customer will receive the 3 jar price for all multiples and single jar price for any remainder (use the / and % operators to determine this)."
Yeah, this had me stumped until someone told me to use a crapton of variables. Now I made something that works in the console in linux:
#include <iostream> using namespace std; int main() { int jars, sets_3, sets_1; const double priceSingle = 5.40; const double priceTriple = 15.00; const double taxRate = 0.10; // These constants are used. double cost1, cost2, subTotal, subTax, totalCost; /* These are doubles for decimal purposes */ cout<<"Enter the amount of jars you're buying:"<<endl; cin>>jars; // You input the amt of jars needed here sets_3=(jars/3); sets_1=(jars%3); cost1=(sets_3*priceTriple); cost2=(sets_1*priceSingle); subTotal=(cost1+cost2); subTax=(subTotal*taxRate); totalCost=(subTotal+subTax); // These are calculations. cout<<"The subtotal cost of the jars is:"<<subTotal<<endl; cout<<"The tax on the jars is:"<<subTax<<endl; cout<<"The total cost on the jars is:"<<totalCost<<endl; return 0; }I think it's only gonna get more tricky from here on out. I had to tag a few comments in, so...

Kinda surprising Californication can provide such a creative spark, making you think about what it is that youre exactly feeling. Dont know exactly how to say it (as always heh), but sometimes you just feel like youre being screwed over by the universe, God or whoever is behind all this [cabbage] happening to you. Feelings that have been there for so long that have finally gotten an outlet, however secret as it is. Confusion, distraction, yes, no, yes, no, its like riding a rollercoaster of emotions without knowing where or when the track will end. Having lost control of the entire situation, with the ride being coordinated by something other than yourself, you realize that theres nothing you can do except enjoying the way there, making sure neither one of you falls out in the meantime. And then theres that handbrake waiting to be pulled. And even though you know theres no way of being certain of the destination of the journey, and that you could offer the both of you a way out without causing yourselves harm simply by pulling it, its that tiny chance of achieving happiness that keeps you from doing it. Because, lets face it, shes simply all youve ever dreamt of.

My daily adventures and game content reviews.
Latest entry by Silvertaler,
I did my first Dagannoth King raid today, and found it worth talking about on my blog. So here's the little adventure of mine along with a few fellows from my clan.
My friend Bella organised this Dagannoth King raid today as a clan event. For me and her, it was our first time in that dungeon. We were three, and only one of us knew his way down there; fortunately for us he was level 138. We were a bit nervous at first, seeing the kind of inventory it took to fight those Kings and all. Crossing the dungeon alone was a thrilling adventure for us, not knowing what to expect.

When we got to the Kings, it was a bit hard to start the real raid: Bella was the mage, she was the one who had to go in first in order to lure Rex away and she was a bit worried. But it didn't take us long to settled there and start taking care of those huge creatures. At first you feel a bit confused, but then it gets really easy. With Prayer on, you barely get hit. My tortoise ended up disappearing with about eight Saradomin Brews inside, and I couldn't take them in my inventory because I was still full of potions. Lost some money there, but entirely recovered it since we got a Dragon Hatchet drop shortly after. The money was split and so I got 840k gold from that.

Later, the mage ended up forgetting about Prayer points going down and was forced to teleport out, escaping right in time before getting killed. I also forgot about my Prayer points shortly after, lost Deflect Mage and nearly died to Primus; my Ring of Life saved me at the last moment. Guess the lesson we got from this was that these bosses are fairly easy to kill when you're paying attention, but if you let your Prayer go down it becomes deadly.
It's really worth it going down there as a team. The drops seem to be quite frequent, and they're very good drops. The teamwork it demands is also enjoyable. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot whenever you can. ;)
May Zaros be with you!

Latest entry by Gandorf61,
Heh seems odd that I decide to make a blog post about this past bonus xp weekend when my last blog post was about the March one.
Got quite a few levels:

11 herblore levels (cost ~30M, 55M if I don't sell any of the pots I made)
1 agility level
1 runecrafting level
Only played for about 7 1/2 hours as I was working all weekend and only had a bit of time to play. Still happy with what I achieved though, brings me one step closer to 80+ all stats. :)

Latest entry by DarkDude,
Hey,
As part of being a Platinum fansite (well gold at the time) one of the admins got invited to goto Runefest as a VIP. I was the lucky one that was chosen (Thank you coin flip!). So heres a write-up on what I got to do.
It started on Thursday 26th, at 14:30 UK time I headed to the station to get the train up to London. Had packed the night before to make sure I was prepared, didnt want to leave anything behind. A two hour train ride later I arrived in London, had to change to another station then I had finally arrived at London Bridge station, just minutes from my Hotel. Of course, this being London the second I get off the train it starts raining. After getting lost on my way, about 30 minutes later I finally arrive at the hotel. I check in and get told by reception that the leader of the group is over in the bar. So I drop my things off in my room then head down into the bar where I see a huge group of people sitting.
There Im greeted by Mod Hohbein and Mod Paul M who introduce me to all the other VIPs. About 25 of us in total, including the three golden ticket winners, admins from a few other fansites, Excl, some popular members of the Runescape community and various high level players including Telmomarques. As all of the others had flown in, most of them had been there for a while already, there were a few that arrived after me but I was one of the last. I was given a bit more information on what was happening over the next few days and an updated itinerary and we just had a couple of drinks while talking amongst ourselves. For dinner that night we were to go to a bar at the Globe Theatre, not a huge selection of food available to us but a burger appeared to be the most popular choice (probably 20 out of the 25 of us had a burger) although I went for the gammon steak to be different. After everyone had eaten, most people decided to head back to the hotel for the evening due to jet lag. This left about 5 of us there, me, Mod Paul M, Gertjaars and a couple of his friends. A *few* drinks later and we all decide to head back to the hotel for the night too as we had a fairly long day on Friday. Although based on the fact that Gertjaars now knows me as Drunk guy probably means I should have left a few drinks earlier...
Woke up early on Friday morning and headed down to have breakfast. Basically had a full English breakfast from the buffet, om nom nom. At 8:30am everyone met in the lobby before waiting for the coach that would take us to Jagex HQ in Cambridge. An hour and a half later we arrived at the Player Support building of Jagex (yes, it exists; either that or they rented a building out, a bunch of computers and hired some actors in for the day). We were put into a meeting room, with a table with various pastries and cakes on it for us to eat while we waited for Andrew and MMG for a Q&A session. A few mods from Player support came down during this time to talk to us and answer some questions while we waited and eventually they turned up.
MMG had a few things to say to us before it opening up to questions. Of course, I was the only one prepared with a huge list of questions to ask and that didnt even include the bunch I had myself. Ill post the answers to the questions (that I can do, due to having to sign a NDA) in the next post. Not a lot of interesting information was revealed in terms of future updates and those that were I cannot discuss. It was just really nice to get to ask questions to these two, both of whom seem like really good guys. Both of them genuinely seemed very interested in the game and passionate about it. They just seemed like normal people, and for that matter so did everyone that worked for Jagex.
After the Q&A we were given a tour of the player support building, it was fairly empty on the Friday as a lot of the team were in London preparing for Runefest and the fact that it was a Bank holiday weekend some people had also taken the Friday off work for a four day weekend. We got shown around each section of player support, being told what each part does and various details and numbers of what they have to deal with. Afterwards we were taken back down to the meeting room where two guys from their RWT/Macroing etc. Section came down to speak to us as we were not allowed to go into their section of the office. They told us some very interesting things, as did all of the sections actually and while I cannot go into any detail all I can say is that what we were told is VERY promising in regards to what theyre doing to combat this. Jagex even have an in-house lawyer to help them with action against the various people that run the sites etc.
After that talk we were treated to a huge selection of sandwiches and had about 30 minutes to kill before heading over to the main office. Outside is MMGs tank which Im sure some of you have already heard about, its awesome. Inside we got split up into two groups to take it in turns of getting shown around the offices. I cannot talk about anything which I saw upstairs, but again like everything else Id seen so far that day I was very impressed. I saw bits of Stellar Dawn and can confirm that it does exist and is being developed in a different section to what Runescape is being developed in and Id say had about 65% of the amount of people working on Runescape. After the other group had been shown around we had a short Q&A with about 6 members of the development team from various section, two from content, one from audio and two from graphics. Again, nothing was revealed here and me with my list got to ask most of the questions once more (and this time got to ask some of my own!).
Once that was done we still had a few hours to kill before dinner in Cambridge, so half of us headed into Cambridge early to have a look around there while the others stayed at the offices and arrived later. Cambridge looks like a fairly awesome city, we didnt have too long to look around but the parts we saw looked nice before heading to a pub near to the place we were to eat and we had a drink there before meeting up with the others at the bar for the meal that evening. An uneventful meal later we got on the coach back to the Hotel where nearly everyone just headed straight to bed in preparation for Runefest on the Saturday.
I woke up fairly late on the Saturday compared to the last two days, meeting in the lobby at 9:30 where Mod Hohbein, Mod Poppy and Mod (insert name here) were there. We headed over to where Runefest was to have breakfast with Paul, Andrew, Ian and MMG. Andrew sat next to me with MMG next to him and just discussed various things with them. MMG then spoke to the whole group before we had a Q&A with the three Gower brothers. Again, I was pretty much the only one asking questions and I focused mainly on the evolution of the game. Its nice getting to ask them questions such as when they realised that the game was actually working in terms of being a game people wanted to play, something which Id likely never get a chance to do again. While probably not interesting to a few people there was interesting to me for various reasons and was really nice to be given the chance.
Once that was done we got a quick tour of Runefest, where I was the first to write on Varrock Wall (And of course I wrote a HYT ;)), we collected our goody bags (same as everyone else got, which Im sure youve seen other people post about) and on top of that we all got a special VIP gift. (Excuse my terrible photo taking skills)

Im not going to talk much about Runefest itself, as really not *too* much to talk about. I saw a few of the insider sessions, spent a few hours talking to various Jagex mods and met up with various people. Was really awesome and would have been well worth going to, had a lot of fun and was very strange to just meet other people who also love the game and getting to meet the people behind it was awesome too.
Thats it for my experience really, Saturday night was meant to do a few things but plans fell through so just had an early night and Sunday morning was just having breakfast before heading off to get the train back home.
I will post the answer to the Q&A after Ive passed it through Jagex to make sure Im not saying anything I shouldnt be, until then I hope this write-up is enough. If you have any questions about it feel free to ask :).

Latest entry by Siobhana,

Yeah, bad crop job, I'll live.
So, 2300 total by getting 92 smithing. Goal for bonus xp weekend is to hopefully use my bars and get a chunk of 93 smith done. Then I can do 95 effigies with stout.
Other lvls that should be coming up are 99 mage and 99 summ. Had a plan of getting 99 summ, 99 mage and 2300 total together, but the bonus weekend threw a spanner in *that* idea. Other than smithing, and the obvious circus I think my xp weekend will be spent attempting to catch up on some of my slower skills. I imagine hunter will be packed, but imagine fm/wc with adze, RC with either astrals or ZMI and perhaps a little bit time spent at master farmers. Cannot stand PP so might aswell seize the oportunity for extra xp when I have it. :-)
