    My Runescape Life

I've recently been hunting Dragon/Kingly implings all day long and finally, after making 30+ Mil I've decided its time to take a break and train my combat. I'm still going to get 99 Hunting eventually but I'm going to be working on my goal of maxing my combat now for a while. I'll update this after my first run today and post logs of the drops I get etc. I'm training at the Mighty Banshee's which IMO is one of the best places in game to train. I get roughly 160K-180k EXP per Trip along with around 500k worth of herbs and pure essence. So I make my money back plus more for the pray pots I'm using.

    Trip #1

    Experience Gained - 167,840

    Wealth Obtained - 444,062 GP

    Charms - 31 Green, 9 Gold, 5 Crimson

    Trip #2

    Experience Gained - 181,236

    Wealth Obtained - 517,334 GP

    Charms - 57 Green, 20 Gold, 12 Crimson

I just joined, here is my account signature

Well today i leveled my woodcutting from 77 to 78, plus a few thousand xp more. I also got my fishing level from 62 to 70 last week... so i guess i am into the skilling!! I increased my total xp from a little over 10 million to almsot 12 milion in a week! This is unusual for me since I usually dont play for more than an hour or so a day.

    Just a blog.

BigMcChicken here. Good news: blogging is great.

It's 11:20 here; this is usually the time that I wake up. I'm pretty tired: I didn't go to sleep until one last night.

Today, I took a break from Puro-Puro and tried out something new: Grenwall hunting. I wasn't going to shortcut and buy raw Pawya meat; I wanted to hunt the Pawya myself. At first, that seemed like a stupid decision. On my first trip, I used 22 papayas for nine Pawya meat. I felt I had lost some money on that trip; a few price checks proved me wrong. 22 papayas: ~36k; nine raw Pawya meat: ~45k. I wasn't losing money, and I was getting more experience than I would if I bought the meat, so I was pretty happy with the results so far. I took a second trip with 22 papayas again, and had even better results: 13 Pawyas trapped. That was all of the Pawyas I needed. I gathered my things and went out to the Grenwalls by Prifddinas. I thought catching Pawyas was moderately difficult! Grenwalls are a pain. Given that my Hunter level is only 78 (81 with a hunter potion), I was at a slight disadvantage. Nevertheless, I caught five or six (I was distracted most of the timeI didn't keep an accurate count) Grenwalls. My final results: 119 spikes @ ~141k, one ranarr and one avantoe @ ~14k for both, plus the experience I got. I was very satisfied with the experience; unfortunately, I didn't keep track of how much I got.

Well, that's all for now. It's now 11:40. Time for me to have lunch. I'll still be playing, and of course, blogging my experiences.

I just concluded the entry, but I have something that I just realized that I want to share.

If you haven't noticed already, I'm a hunting nut. I haven't said this yet, but I'm also pretty wise with my money; I'm not cheap, I just don't spend it like a madman. You'd assume that this hobby and characteristic would reflect my actual self, but it's actually the opposite: I hate hunting and I spend my money sort of freely (once I've accumulated a bit, usually a few hundred).

It's a kind of off-topic point, but I think it could be studied a bit. Is it merely coincidence, or am I sub-consciously fulfilling myself? Who knows.

Anyways, I'll be back later to blog some more. If you have any in-game material you'd be interested in me covering, you can message me in-game (Lunula is the display name) or send me a message on here. If I find the request interesting enough, I'll check it out and blog about it.

Hi, my name's John, I'm 17, and I'm a citizen of the United States. This blog covers various things, including my real life experiences and activity on RuneScape.

I have been working on a Venetian-style ceramic mask in my pottery class for the past couple of months.

I will confess that I had some help with the sewing, though. A mould was also used to create the mask itself. Coils were then added to it in order to create a design on its face, and the eyes were cut out in order to look like a traditional mask. Gold acrylic paint was used to accent the coils.

Finally, music sheets were cut out and placed over part of the face and then coated with clear acrylic.

    Enjoy!

The 2nd General of Guthix rambling.

So here I am, playing RS, and I start hearing a rythmic beat and splashing outside my window. I ran through the list of possible causes in my head:

    - Parade in my backyard? no.

    - Random wresetling match in one of those plastic pool-thingys? no.

    - Rainy (aka Den) attempting to get 99 Dungeoneering? no. (sorry, couldn't resist :-P )

Acutally, it was hail. Now, this may sound fine at first glance, but let me add the other factors while it was hailing: it was high hudmity, 78 F, raining, and partially sunny... all at the same time. O_O

Confuses me a little bit tbh :P

Denver got a foot of nothing but hail the size of golfballs... go to http://www.weather.com , should be something there.

Also, I took a few pictures... Hope they don't break rules 'cause they are from real life, but oh well...

    [hide=Clicky!]

(remember this is 90% hail, and 10% rain)

I just managed to dual boot Ubuntu and windows 7, so right now I couldn't be happier. In fact, I'm typing this using Ubuntu. My main reason for installing Ubuntu is I love having a ton of free software, especially awesome video editors. Also, I want to be a game and program programmer, and Ubuntu is a much better operating system for practing due to so many FOSS (free open source software) programs to work with.

    A Blog =P

    Well, I figured I'd start a blog.

This blog will have snippits of my real life and RuneScape events, I am willing to share personal details (obviously not too personal, but personal to me) so please show respect when posting comments.

I will start off by introducing myself to those that may not know me, I hope it doesn't bore you too much.

I am a 26 year old female living in Wiltshire, England. I am not married but have been with my partner for over 9 years and we are expecting our 4th child in August. Currently we have a daughter who is 8, a son who is 6 and a son who is 5. The 2 eldest children play RuneScape, and the youngest usually plays on one of the many consoles we own. We are deffinatly a gaming family. In our home we have a laptop, a desktop PC, a Wii, PS3 a PS2 and a DSi.

My RuneScape "career" has been on and off for 6 years, real life has got in the way of things or I have needed a break from the game out of boredom. I was leader of TET a few years ago before my break from the game, so my level's aren't fantastic because I was working hard to bring events to the community, but I am slowly working on them and improving them. I am not a skiller as such, I prefer quests as they encourage you to think and have more skills than just clicking something (no offence to skillers intended, this is just my personal opinion).

    Hurgle-Blergle Bloggity Boo!

Well, Its exactly (minus 3 days) until my 20th birthday and I lose my "teenager" approach. So I decided to set myself a IRL goal, to become physically fit, get a full time job that I employ and start enjoying life like I used to. So for 6 months each day I'll be going to the GYM to work out alot more and hopefully make fortnightly progresses w/ images. I'd take a "starter" image now but I lost the camera somewhere, so I'll post it in a fortnight. I suppose the motivation comes from fastortoise's progress in Working Out / Off Topic.

Wish me luck, I'll need it.

The Life and Trades Of A Runescape Merchanter

Today I started a Grand Exchange noob and ran her to Varrock and into the Grand Exchange.

Along the way I picked up bits and pieces of things that others had dropped - logs, bones, meat, etc.

When I got to the Grand Exchange, I listed 2 of my meagre inventory bits in their F2P slots at max rate and logged out.

One day this noob will be a millionaire, just from merchanting in the Grand Exchange!

    The blog by a noob

This week irl we had a few presentations and a "medium grade" scare at the school. There was a call that told the administration that a bomb would go off in the school on Thursday, May 13 at 2:30 PM. The whole school was evacuated at about 1:15 PM and it took 30 minutes to get everybody safely out of the school and to the fire department where we were supposed to evacuate to. The rest of the day was basically waiting 15 minutes to get a phone and call home saying i was going to walk. I walked home which took about an hour and a half and when i got home the radio was on in my room (i forgot to turn it off in the morning) and it said there was a bomb threat and the school was evacuated. We had 7 RCMP cars at the school along with 1 K-9 unit to sweep through the school to find anything that might be a bomb. Nothing was found #-o

In RuneScape news i gained about 2.6m and blew it all on gold trimmed rune

Well, I had some goals...then Jagex threw me a curve ball that I was unable to resist. I've been using all the play time I have available for Dungeoneering. I've found this new addition to the game to be very enjoyable.

One thing that almost every MMORPG had that RuneScape lacked is Group Instanced Dungeon Raiding. The closest thing available was group boss killing, if you want to consider camping/farming a single monster spawn as a close comparison to Instanced Raids. Dungeoneering fits the gap with near-perfection. I have very few complaints with this new activity.

The fact that they made it a skill rather than a mini game was a great idea. The most common thing done in RuneScape is train skills. Mini-games don't get nearly the same amount of time players give to mini game (aside from games with xp rewards like Pyramid Plunder or Stealing Creation). The fact that this activity is a skill will generate a continuous flow of players actively participating in the skill. If were a mini game, the population playing the game would be nowhere close to what would be ideal. So I think Jagex made a great decision in making this activity a skill. One or two years down the road, this will still be an activity that people will be playing often because people will want those levels. This wouldn't be the case if it were a mini game.

The activity itself was implemented very well. I love how they incorporated a player's skills into each raid. It gives players with both high and low stats a challenging experience.

    Changed I'd like to see:

    • Improvements with 'Solo Raiding' As this is a skill, I think people should be able to participate by themselves if they choose. I think some better reward rates would've been nice to have.
    • Better Grouping System I know Jagex was trying to prevent people that wanted to 'grind' levels, but it made it confusing for many players. Either a tweaking to the floor system, or a better way to educate players would be great.

Things I'd like to see in the future:

    • Larger Dungeons, Larger Groups I love the way things are now, but I know they could get bigger. As people train this skill more, I'm sure high level updates will be in its future. I'd love to see dungeons that offer larger rooms and larger bosses. I think it'd be great to have HUGE, massive raids that' would require 8-10 players. Perhaps in the distant future, Dameonheim won't be the only place to train Dungeoneering?

MY DUNGEONEERING RATING: 5 of 5

[spoiler=MERCHANT LIST]just a small addition...been so worked up in this skill that I haven't bother with other skills/merchanting

    General Thoughts, Goals & Achievements

Well, Blog Number 3, probably about a week later than I was planning on updating this blog.

Getting that 50 Dungeoneering in the first week kind of knackered me out. So I slowed down a bit, and got myself 90 woodcutting. I think I was only about 200k off, and it's lovely and easy to train whilst watching television.

    alkatrazdtdgets90woodcu.png

In these 2 weeks, I also managed to convince myself that buying 1 month of membership was worth it, as it's cheaper than my normal lunch, and it lets me train skills with less effort (e.g. Ivy's, the Edgeville Furnace)

As I mentioned in my first blog, I only want to train skills that I enjoy and are relatively easy to train.

Unfortunately, I rather liked my all skills 70+ so I think I might end up training Dungeoneering a fair bit more.

So then plan for the rest of the month:

82 Smithing Just so I can smith myself a Gorgonite Platebody.

71 Thieving & 80 Range Penguin Points have got to be spent on something.

60 Dungeoneering All skills 60+ would be very nice.

85 Smithing It is my favourite skill at the moment, cash might end up being a problem.

Might even get round to doing some Woodcutting

Okay so at least there was 1 picture this week. Hopefully there'll be more next week, well hopefully 60 Dungeoneering and 80 Range.

This is where I ramble about stuff :P

I've been wanting to do a blog for a while and so today when I got my 3rd 99, 2000 Total level and 100m Overall XP within about 5 minutes of each other I decided now was as good a time as any to start!

Really I should have got 99 Defence several weeks ago, but Dungeoneering stopped me in my tracks but on the plus side it brought me up to 1999 Overall so it worked out quite well :P

Something very frightening happened to me today.

A friend and I were smacking a volleyball around, when we decided we may as well go down to the sand court and get a game going there.

Knowing that it would be busy on a nice, sunny day at the beginning of summer, my friend questioned whether or not it would be too busy with little kids and obese people to even bother trying.

    At which point I replied:

"It's fine; if it's busy, we'll just hop worlds."

I was not kidding. I was not playing dumb. I honestly thought that Life, My Life, was a multi-server MMORPG for a moment.

I think that I might be taking a break from playing.

    A Slayer's Blog.

Tonight is quite possibly the most [developmentally delayed]ed night I've had in a few years. My best friend, Robbie, had just dropped his date off, so he picked me up and we went to our friend Josh's house to hang out with him and Keir. We got there and discovered that Keir was very drunk. He's manic depressive, bipolar, and well on his way to being an alcoholic. He's only twenty.

So we're all discussing Robbie's date and Josh's recent hookup when Keir says that he's going to go to the bathroom. We continue to talk for about fifteen minutes when we realize that Keir is taking an abnormally long time. Josh tells Robbie to check on him, then Robbie tells me to do it, then Josh agrees and tells me to do it, too. I, being lazy, decide not to do it. Remember this.

A few minutes later we hear this giant thud. A second later we hear an even bigger thud -- I'm talking house shaking crash, and we hear Keir say "oh [cabbage]." So we get up, knock on the door, and open it to see that the ground is covered in blood and Keir has a small gash on his forehead. We sit him down, toilet paper to the gash, tell him to apply pressure, and we angrily interrogate him. He says that he was doing "elevators," which I guess is some stupid thing that makes you pass out. He apparently passed out and hit his head on something (we still don't know what), and now he looks like Harry Potter (literally; he has the thick, black rimmed glasses and everything).

Keir isn't even phased. He's not crying, complaining . . . nothing. He's drunk, yeah, but he's not that drunk, so this struck me as pretty amazing. He's rambling on about something when he removes the toilet paper from his head. All three of us kind of jumped a little. His gash is more like a gaping wound, and I'm pretty sure that we could've seen his skull if we got close enough. Robbie just says "hospital," and we start gathering Keir's stuff and preparing to leave. Keir is complaining about his dad finding out, getting stitches, etc, etc, so Robbie tells him to shut up and stop whining. Josh asks his younger sister to clean up the mess while we're gone.

We get to the hospital, check him in, and wait for twenty minutes before they call him back. This kind of pissed me off, 'cause we've got this guy who's covered in blood and has a gaping wound in his head sitting here bleeding all over himself. He finally goes back, so we wait . . . for three hours. Mind you, this whole thing started at about 2AM. It's now about 6AM, and I just got dropped off about thirty minutes ago. Keir got stitches, a CT scan, and a sheet of paper titled "medical advice" that said in HUGE font: "STOP DRINKING ALCOHOL." We all laughed at this.

Moral of the story? Keir is a [bleep]ing idiot. He's going to have a gnarly scar for the rest of his life.

A glimpse of what it means to be me.

The mind is a powerful tool.

It can be used for innovation, intelligence and fun. The many joys of having a ethical and intelligent thought will never be able to be grasped due to the unimaginable. The mind can create scenarios that could never happen with just a simple thought. Oh the power this thing can have.

But as the cheesy super hero saying, "With great power comes great responsibility." This line brings out so much more thought when considering the mind as power. Also the saying goes as "Knowledge is power" so it just reinforces the fact. Our mind comes with great responibility. But what kind of responsibility do we have with our mind?

As a thinker, I like to contemplate thoughts as they pass through my mind. Why do we communicate the way we do, why do Americans have a task orientated thought process, what color does a smurf turn if you choke it? Questions are all around us and I believe it is our duty to hear them. You would think I would say to answer the questions, but life isn't here to figure it out. There are just those things that can't be answered. Since there are questions that won't ever be answered, then why bother answering any questions in the first place? Understanding.

With understanding, our horizons reach so much farther. A deep appreciation concludes an understanding and with appreciation, life can be fulfilled to its utmost. Without life at its utmost, it leads us to an ever ending quest to seek out an answer that we can't find: "Why?" The ambigious 'Why' can never truly be solved except in this one rhetorical thought: "Why not?" Students will moan and gripe when a professor answers a question with a question, but the students aren't the only ones learning in the classroom. Asking questions in return of a question just continues the thought which we already defined as power.

Also to consider with too much thought, our minds can become corrupt. Intaking what we shouldn't ruins what we have been churning in our heads and eventually make it bad. So having the responsibility of knowing what to put in and keep out is the most important thing we can do to keep our power safe and valuable.

I guess what I am trying to say is that our minds hold the power. It has the key to unlock joy. And by guarding our minds will allow us to keep this power, the key, which is joy. With joy, the possibilities are unimaginable. :)
