  1. I have another place where this happens. In my POH, while hosting a party in rimmy, I noticed that a hwite dot flashed on my minimap where the entrance is while I was on my top floor, I also could see new people entering, but they only flashed into existance for under a second. So I could tell when new arrivels came, but could only see them for a fraction of a second beofre they disapeared. My theory on this is that the game puts there avatar in the 0 level of my POH's second floor during loading so I know when people arrive, then moves them to level 1 of my POH main floor once they have completed loading. I to greatly support all of runescape existing on the same level 1. Think about it, it there were multiple layers for all levels of a city say, then the ENTIRE MAP qould occupy so much more memory, because there would be so many blocks of memory for empty space. The data array would have to exist as a cube, but most of the cube would be a void (as demonstrated by a RSC glitch). It is much easier to duplicate some parts and work with the 3 (or 4?) levels. About dungeons matching up, the map creator progam surely has a grid, so it would not be hard to make everythign the exact right size at all.
  2. Unless I need to run, I wear black elite armour because I think it looks awsome. If I need to run a bit I swap in spottier cape, penance gloves and boots of lightness (with 3 pouches I can run indefinatly doing this in yanille). I dont use elite in actual combat because its not very good (some better and worse than rune). I used to use ghost as a lightweight casual, but I keep that in my house now. I have been knkown to wear my 'frazy jungle man' get up of: Varrock armour 1 (substitute fighter torso if you dont have), jungle camo legs, green broodoo shield, mudskipper hat, red topaz machete, boots of lightness, penance gloves, and spottier cape.
  3. I got it. I was using a teapot not a kettle. Stupid mistake.
  4. To put it simply I can't make construction tea. I have tried using the kettle and cup on my sink, and it shows the water animation but in the chat box it says "nothing interesting happens", and I can't put the kettle on the range. I have tried putting the tea leaves in the kettle first, and that works, but I still can't add water to the kettle after that, I just get teh same message. Am I missing something? Is this a bug? Do I need to be in building mode (I think I tried this fist, then wen't to normal mode)? I have 55 con, 70 something cooking, and the best larder, range, and sink you can get, and porcelin kettle stuff (I tried it with the one lower down too and that didn't work either).
  5. still using law runes arn't you? Once you have a mounted glory, you never want to use it again, because by that time your house is probably in yanille and its a pain in the aft nether region to recharge the stupid things.
  6. Granite; I think I have seen some people use those. And a neitiznot helm I think.

Not quite. If you have not done cold war then you recive 1 point for each of the penguins you find each week (there are 10 of them). If you have done cold war, then half the penguins are worth 2 points each (these tend to be in areas needing quests such as isafdar, or dangerous places such as the wild). The best clan chat I can recomend is penguins_w60 (where _=space). They have a thred on the RSOD under distractions and diversions, I belive they are on version 16 (since they redo the thred each week). I recomend reading the thred, it will have locations lists, clan chat rules (for example they will eventualy kick you if you are not on world 60), and they list their overflow chats. The xp you get is 25 x [your level], so 25xp for a level 1 skill (per point) 50xp per point for level 2 skill etc. If you have any questions pm me here, I have been penguin hunting for some time, and if I do say so, I know the ropes quite well. My last point, I would actively discourage using another clan chat, riods comes to mind I have have never heard a good thing about that particular chat, and the people in it are stupid (there the ones that walk through penguin trappers thus releasing trapped penguins). P.S. World 60 is actualy the penguin hunting world. Even if you are not in a chat, you can usualy find help there because the clans will normally hunt almost every penguin all the time (wild penguins are an exception, or when everyone on has gotten a penguin already).

The clay pick is identical to rune in all regards (except looks and the xp bonus naturaly). If you wan't to go one step further, you can use a clay staff for extra superheat xp (I think, not sure on this though)
  9. I hate hoping. I will sometimes for some things. But I ahve been able to put up with people who cannon at ankous (whic is a stupid thing for people to do). I might hop for mineing but thats about it. I won't hop if I cannon at yaks, two or three people can hardly effect it anyways (actualy they keep the reloads at least 30 seconds apart which is nice for me). It also depends on my mood. If i'm really happy I will almost always hop, but if not I almost never hop.

  11. I'm a happy cynic. I belive the worst in just about everything including myself, and am constantly delighted whent eh world exceeds my expectations. Ok, thats not completly true. I have ccome to excepts that the general public is completly stupid when it comes to scientific issues, especialy journalists. A few clasic mental thoughts on things I have read include "It's dirt. Dirt dosen't burn." and "why are you panicking over PCB's when gasoline fumes are so bad for you one breath of them is possibly in excess of the safe dose for your entire life" followed by anything about how flourecent bulbs make a flying [bleep] of difference. Honestly, if a flourecent bulb is the largest improvement we can find, we are dommed since each successive solution will always be harder and less effective (ie do bigger things first). I shoudl explain the dirst thing. It is in refference to steel drums that contain soil that has some ammount of contamination. Everythign in these drums is a solid, and someone asked what happens if they burn. When was the last time you heard about steel or dirt burning? Before you ask, the contamenants themselves were about as flammable as concrete.
  12. It's not immaturity that bothers me right now, it's ignorance and dependance. Ignorace is such things as the cannon supposedly making you lose points (or not gain points), which is absolute bull [cabbage] and everyone who has looked the gaem up knows this. Dependance applies to every single person who has asked for directions to someolace that is not in a dungeon or otehrwise not on the ground floor since the HD update, and to about half the people who asked directions etc. before the HD update. When I was a newb, younger, and alot less mature and lacking in problem solving ability (compared to what I can do now), I got a newbie map. Then, Jagex intoroduced the world map, and I used that. To be fair, some people couldn't open that map, it was a genuine problem. But most people could have, and ever since it's intigration into the game with HD, there is no reason anyone should ever ask how to get to a city because there is a map that auto focuses on your present location. When people reach the point where they really can't solve problems on there own with resonable effort, they usualy go to goole and find a help site such as this one. Thats what happened to myself. The people who can't do holiday events (or even find teh start point) are a fine example of people who can't help themselves. This may be because they are 8 years old and physicly don't have the mental capacity to solve these types of problems (i'm sorry, if you can't solve a hypothetical question, which comes around 12 years old, then you should not be playing this game), it might be because there mother drank beer and smoked pot during pregnancy, maybe there just stupid. The thing is, if you actualy read the update you can usualy figure it out, especialy if you read the KB article too. People who can't even try to help themselves annoy me to no end, and unfortunatyl RuneScape has had these people from the beggining (they just quit really fast during classic). Honestly, I woudl go back to the community that produced inteligent conversation at the karamja docks in f2p. When I became mems a year ago, all you could get in that area were stupid people who thought they were experts on all subjects, and people who spouted racial slurs like it was the cure for cancer.
  13. After that you can become a collecter of all 7 greegrees (like me  ) and feel the joy of losing 7 bank spaces permanantly. Since I don't think tip.it properly lists all teh gree grees: 1. Karamja Monkey Bones 2. Large Ninja* - I think you have to kill an archer monkey, and possibly telegrab the bones. 3. Small Ninja* - You have to get the ninja monkey summoned by stepping on a tan coloured area in a certain building, and get the monkey killed (if it touches you, you go to jail). 4. Large Zombie - Kill a large zombie monkey, below the temple, or in cave on teh way to gree gree making. 5. Small Zombie - Kill a small zombie monkey. 6. Gorrila - Kill a Gorila that you can walk through. 7. Bearded Gorilla - Kill a Gorila you can't walk through (there are 4, they gaurd a trapdoor in the temple) *means I dont know which bones give big form and which give small form
  14. As a side note, though someone did mention this, mecaws are rarely mentioned, but they make all your herb drops pretty awsome. Take a macaw down to the flesh crawlers in the SoS, and you will understand. If you arent picky about what herbs you take (take all the ones over 1k), you can probably get in 2 trips before the macaw goes away. Or you can camp and get a full inventory of awsome herbs, meaning you should stay until the macaw has 2 minutes left (by this time it has generated a few herbs for you, even without using its scroll, and its going to drop them when it disipears (and while it rarely forges a rannar, it can forage stuff worht over 2.5k). Now, take a macaw to chaos druids (I like the ones just north of ardoungen in teh tower thats hard to theive you way into because its always empty or close to it), where they can double drop herbs, and if your lucky you can get a nice penny for your macaw. Long story short, a macaw improves almost all your herb drops (so you will get high level herbs like you normally get gaum and marrentil, and gaum like you normally get ranarr), generaly be a few levels. You actualy don't get ranarr as mush as you might like (maybe 3-5 in half the macaws summon time if you lucky) partialy because its a lower level good herb (value is not always relflected in a herbs level), but I think you can bring in upto 35k with a macaw if you a bit lucky, 25k at the least.
  15. Raw fishing folllowed by cooked fishing are the best money makers on the ge. These are followed by flax and mining, which alternate everyso often for the place of more profitable, and since you cant gather raw and cooked fish at the same time, most people making money gather fish and flax or fish and coal. Fishing set to 10 should pay all the bills I think, since I ahve left mine or maple at the moment and I still make good money. If you can spin 600 flax a day, which is about 5 workers, than everythings grand. If you can't spin the much, send some workers to minign for some coal (either to sell or use at a later date). If you think you can spin more than 600 flax, try taking workers off of fishing and put them in flax until you get more than you can mannage. You are going to be getting your flax at under GE value (I assume, I haven't looked at the MTK and GE price sheets side by side recently), so any money you make from fishign at all is just icing on the cake.
  16. Theres loads on miscellania, and there should be a few around seers or between there and relleka. I would go to miscelania first, but if you can't get there go north of seers and you shoudl find some.
  17. Dont push youself beyond your limit, you could end up hateing a skill if you do so. I tried to push hunter, and got from level 40 to 75 about as fast as is possible to do so (a few hours), and couldn't touch the skill for months because I grew to despise it. Recently I managed to clock about an hour of relaxed hunting, which is about a 3rd of the xp I can make red chinning, but I managed that hour without going nuts so I might ween myself back into the skill (its the only members skill I actualy ever enjoyed training, possibly teh only skill I love). When I was in teh hospital years ago (like 3), I was still f2p, and I got a laptop with internet from the hospital (dial up too), and I fished lobser, and cooked them, and got to 73 cooking and 72 fishing at least in a week or two, from about level 40 both skills. Now does anyone know just how boring and mindnumbing that is, and there is no inteligent conversation any more. Banking takes like 2 minutes or more. Its insane. I still fish, but now its monks and I have a summons to help me fish faster. Its worth noting I sold so much cooked lobster it bought me full zammorak rune armour, which was 2.2m (when I had no starting money) and the lobster sold for 240gp if I was really lucky (usualy 210 for cooked). Thats over 10,357 lobster, my most focused training ever. I was in that hosipital for weeks, nothing better to do.
  18. That actualy seems to be exactly what Jagex intended. More your average player doign average training, you get an item granting double experiance for the time it took to get it making it net nothing. Now, if you can get all 4components of the armour (and the weapon), then it will have a set complete bonus time that actualy lasts longer than the 80 minutes it took to get it. For higher leveled players, it should be possible to burn the items in less than 20 minutes, and for low levels it will take longer. I find clay items really help to banish the monotony of training though, since you spend half the time doing an awsome minigame and still get full xp.
  19. The first picture, Als Wie Zuvor, might have a few charecter quirks (as someone mentioned i'm not even sure if shorts can go up that far), and they all look like there a we bit high, but the picture itself is absolutly amazing. The white armour guy and the green girl especialy.
  20. The first 3 times I tried contact I tried maging with water wave, meleeing with whip, then both. Naturaly I failed all 3 attempts since the boss is nearly immune to slash and all magic other than earth (and a few other spells). Basicly I would get him down to 1/4 hp and then I would be eating so much I lose every other attack round. Every time I had to wonder if my ring of life would save me, and it did all three times thankfuly. Then a couple weeks later I went back with clay mage robes, a fury, no teleprt (don't know why), and my trusty Iban staff. 12 blasts later I was dancing on the big bugs grave. When I approched the mage arena from the south west and ran into 5 revs including vampires, wearwolves, orks and a knight. I took shelter in a dungeon, realised I had no anti poison, and then left and ran for my life...into the chaos elemental :wall: After being frozen, teleblocked, physicly assulted, teleported, and otherwise manhandled, I ran for my life south, and I kept running and walking, and I hit 8hp at level 29 wild, and was never happier to see faldor in my life as my ring of life saved me. I die so much in the wild on various adventures that it was actualy worth while for me to get the angel of death as my grave. No I can die at the mage bank fending off an ork, or die at teh chaos alter when the knight bursts down the door in style (I had an knight float right through that door once). The various times I have died on quests. One of the freemy ones got me because I went on a brisge without the rnage prayer on and (since you cant activate prayers on the bridge) died as I reached the safe side. I ahve only died outside the wild/pvp 3 times to date, twice during quests, once to the dark wizards (I thought the mom killed me since I missed the event which I got in the circle). The occasion the ring of life saved me at 1hp. Dont tremember circumstances.
  21. The speed difference between a whip and scimmy is not enough for a different listing in the KB, but they are deffinatly not the same. I think its 7:6 or 8:7, but there is a difference. Also note the KB scale does not actualy start at speed zero. If it did then a 2h would out hit a dark bow 3:1, yet I know the darkbow to be closer to 2:1 with a longbow, which is ranked 1 above the 2h'ers speed 3. My point is that a 1 point difference in speed by the KB is not that much, since it does not produce 6:5 ratio, its actualy claiming closer to 7:6. Anyways the KB speeds are known to be off, and not proprtional. The ranks only show what weapons are faster by comparison, and only if the weapons are not the same rank. If they are, then there is always some unlisted difference.
  22. I don't see why you wory about negative ratios. You already admited that runescrafting exceeds most peoples hourly income, and a negative ratio just means a skill makes money. This data would be even more useful if it were availible in multiple hourly incomes because this affects teh speeds of some skills (such as herblore and prayer), while it is a simple scale for others (like agility wich earns nothing.
  23. I think Jagex had to do something to make them more common before there were massive demands that we be able to tear our prayer books apart and sell the pages off. The books are not worth millions of gp, and never should have reached that price. Appparently Jagex has decided to do something either to the drop rate or to the GE to effect that change.
  24. These people aren't actualy noobs, and I would not expect anyone to actualy know this (I have met one person so far who did without prompting). Basicly, to be 'different' I had my neitiznot helm enchanted by pickupstix and stuck a scroll in it, turning it white litke white armour (goes much better with proslyte that way too). Not many people noticed unless someone had a normal neitiznot helm on close to me. When I passed level 50 summoning, I had my d med enchanted (it goes better with dragon armour). Now for those that don't know, most things turn nice colours when enchanted and used to store scrolls (the rune full helm turns white), except the neitiznot helm which hardly changes at all. Anyways, I effectively have a pink d med. It was ok in BA, almost no one said anything, but trust me, in broad daylight I get asked often enough "why is you helm pink", or "thats corrupt right" (only had that once thankfully). Its woth it though, to not just be another d med wearing guy.
  25. I'd quit right then and there. I would probably cease all runescape related activitys and spend more time in real life and playing some other games I already play more often. If I liked starting from scratch I woudl have more than one account (not counting the one I used to scout the wild for my main way beck when). Oh, and no I did not just admit to multilogging (not saying thats not how I completed sheild of arrav either  ). I actuly scounted, logged out, logged into my main, and so on. Painful. Actualy I have two other accounts because my original second has my name (with a number) and I wanted an original name. The name of that account is a secret I have never revealed, though there is a way to figure it out via youtube.
