Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Care to explain that comment? How can a bunch of locations interdect at the digsite (not saying your wrong or they can't, just want to know how). For who/what Jas is. I see two possibilities. You can take the obvious meaning of the oracles words (which is rarely a good idea) and assume Jas is an elder God (which is possible because we know the elder Gods did exist and may still exist). The seoncd interpretation is that Jas is an event. This would be like saying 'the big bang left a black hole behind'. This woudl mean the stone of Jas is the product of some (cataclysimic) event. If I may state what I think the stone of Jas actualy is. There was a series (Young Wizards) I read. And in it they talked about some kind of (world) kernal. This kernal controlled the place/place/world it existed on/in. I think the stone of Jas may be some kind of kernal for gielinor, making it the perfect tool to shape a world, and giving it near omni potent power while in the Gielinor plane.

Star Fail
There are a few ways to avoid clans. The first is PVP. I would not personaly go for this option since I have no desire to die. Now teh second option is all about location. There are two locations where the clans don't normally show. The desert is a prime one, and in my experiance even when they do go for a desert star, it is often only a few people. The best option is the wild, but you will need a party of your own to attempt one of those stars. If you go for stars in Misthalin or Asgarnia, good luck. I use clans to help for a couple reasons. First is I can only build the worst scope, so I would have to stay in my house until touchdown thus ensuring I will never get finder xp, and if its low level star no dust either as it will already be gone. The second is that I only really care for the dust, and I have high enough mining to get the dust I need from 1 or 2 clan populated stars. I can assure you that clans are as much an annoyance to each other as they are to everyone else. Often a good star is ruined when 2+clans find teh same one, which is supprisingly often. I only hunt stars off the prime hours so there are less people on, I would never hunt for a star in the hours where my clan can summon up 50+ people spred over no more than 3 worlds. My clan at least has the sense to find multiple stars that land at the same time, often with another star or 2 lined up afterwords during the same drop period. The only solution woule be worlds where clan chat is banned thus rendering clans ineffective. That orlimit how much you can mine one. I find half of the people in the clans are only there because they are tired of havign their work ruined by clans. Intead they join one and use the benifits of 2 o 3 stars every 2 hours to achive the same effect as one star not touched by a clan. Couldn't beat 'em so I joined 'em.

Underground Pass AKA the Loss of Sanity
I dont even rember the fight. I was busy chaining my computer to my desk so I didn't throw it out the window in blind rage when I failed the [bleep]ing bridge for the god damn [bleep]ing 10th [bleep]ing time. That and I forget the spade half the time and run out of arrows the other half. I once brought 10 arrows, they all failed. I walked back to a [bleep]ing bank and get like 30 more. I get back and lo and behold it works the first bloody time. Then I did regicide. And I had to cross that god forsaken path to the castle in the middel of that ridiculusly large large cave TWICE! The first was ok, but the second, oh no. I failed 4 [bleep]ing times. I failed twice in a row! I got over 3 of the gaps and failed the fourth! I was pissed off! The underground pass and Regicide quests should not be approched by anyone not on valium or happy pills. [bleep] I hate that quest. Almost as much as I hate contact, the only quest I have attempted only to be repetedly defeated. [bleep] contact too! Note: This is not representative of my personality. The above language comes from hours of frustration at teh hands of three quests. The only other quest to cause even close to this much frustration has been DT and I have the sense to take a month off that quest when ever I screw up. There is a difference between difficult and plain annoying. DT is difficult. MM is difficult. Underground pass is a god damn supersized pain in the [bleep]ing [wagon]. The frustration I felt in the underground pass is comerable to the frustration people feel doing one small favor magnified by 10 orders of magnitude because it is needlessly frustrating. Rather than make a hard quest, they made one where people give up to save their sanity. Again note. I actualy like the underground pass. It's a work of art. It only those [bleep]ing maze trails with those gaps that get me because they take so long to try again. II hate those [bleep]ing bridges. They can burn in hell. Aside from that I do think was was meant to be mentaly taxing. And I was not joking when I said chain comp to desk. I actualy got my laptop lock and put the key in another room.

High Detail- Not just flashy, its useful!
Sometimes I hook up my laptop to my PC monitor and dul screen it. It look sa little odd in the middel, and there is angular distortion when your resolution is about 2400x800. Views are done from a point, not a large window, so using my setup I things look tilted at the edges. The problem is my laptop was not intended for that sort of thing, so I have to turn the AA off or suffer 5 frames/sec.

runescape=dumb?
've played RS and a few other games in the grade 12 lounge (yes the grade 12s at my school have a lounge instead of home room). Theres sometimes a bit of teasing that normally ammounts to "Randox are you playing RuneScape?". Over the last couple of years people in other grades have seen me play RS. One became a friends for a while, then he switched schools and we stopped talking in game after that (we still say hello sometimes). I once played in the computer lab during lunch when it was populated by little kids, I swaer I was about to recive fan mail . Now in the public schools, id be suprised if school comps allowed RS (though I use my own laptop so I porbbaly could. I immagine that playing RuneScape is between Neopets and WoW. Alot of people get bored with RS in the first couple of minutes or have never tried it thus labeling it as a stupid game.

Sara Sword Vs D-scim+defender
With scim + defender you get a slash attack bonus of +85 and str bonus of +72. The sara sword has slash and str bonus of +82. Basicly the sara sword has 96.5% of the accuracy of the scim-def combo, but 113.8% of the damage (the scim has 87.8% of the str bonus). All in all, I would think the sara sword is faster. If you have been fighting with a whip and sheild (with no att bonus), then using the ss should be like swaping out the shield and whip for the sword. The attack rate is the same, the bonus are near identical.

Avoid worlds 69 and 151
Don't say read the RSOF, most people are because they don't go on the RSOF (or not very much). And don't say find out from friends as that won't help if you logged into one of those worlds. Thanks for the heads up.

Spike, It's freaking me out!
ROFLMAO I rember the underground farm. Be right back. Personaly I think there might be a grain of truth (since wasent the green thing verifyed soem months ago?). Chances are it dosent even hit you (since no ones dieing). I think there are loads of false accounts, and the original idea might be a half truth to. Probably some glitch with lava titan or something.

Screen Snapper
An interesting program with many useful applications for RuneScape. If I may suggest a feture that I think would be invaluble: Give it a feture to create a story board. The idea would be to take multiple pictures of the chat box and turn them into one picture. I was going to do this by hand when I did the ghostly clothes mini-quest, but after a couple minutes I realised how ,uch work that was going to be and found an alternate method. The end result is that I now have a 16 second movie at 10 frames/sec (and I should have made it slower) that contians all the dialog. Basicly, I set the camera focus to the chatbox, started and paused the movie (all using hypercam 2), and then took a still of every diece of dialog. The movie is missing about 7 parts at the beggining. My point is a program that could have turned all that into a few stroy board style pics would have been invaluble. Instead, to view it I have to go into WMP (windows media player), slow the playback speed to minimum, and douple click the play button to advance frame by frame.

Picture of the Stone of Jas?
The fist of guthix looks almost identical to the stone of jas dipiced by Jagex. If anything is the stone of jas, I would vote for that (the FoG)

How do you get an avatar cant get one my self.

coal mining area closest to a bank
The skeleton mine around level 7 wild is possibly the best non guild way to get coal in f2p. I used if way back, and only had to run from the ocasional pker. I know that at least one revenant has that area on patrol, but if you do it enough you might even know when its coming. You also have to fend off the skeletons that give the mine its name. Its not to far form a bank, no further than al-kharid at least (actualy a bit closer). Dangerous, but all you risking as some coal so why not try it.

morphic hammer
Volitile is only good if (a)You have decent levels in everything to get larger amounts of binus xp, and (B) If you don't know what you wan't to train. I fit both catagories so I might try it out.

What is better....
I track str, att, and def (naturaly making those last 3k points take forever). I normally don't track hp, and know its going to level maybe 1 in 30 levels. I like the bonus suprise.

Stealing Creation Tactics?
I think you made a whole bunch of high level arrows. One person stands there and takes them, gives them to player 2, who deposits them, and player 1 takes them again and so on. You don't lose points from previous rounds for scoring negative, so if you play to games, each person gets a turn at making massive amounts of points. What you do with millions of points beats me. Since I don't really care for the points as long as I make 20-30k per game (since I now have excess), I normally find a level 3 spot to make myself a prayer pot, summoning pouch and a few summon scrolls. Then I get myself a level 4 spot and make armour and weapons for people and myself. I try to defend skillers, but since everyone has ancients (like cw :wall: ), I normally end up in tactical retreat (ie run back to the nearest safe place I can find). If I stay at a level 4 spot I sometimes make some extra sets of armour for the base, but most of what I do is make food (I can't make any stackable l4 items). If I decide to skill for the game, I go find a level 3 spot and make arrows and/or runes. When I fight, I normall end up in mage hat and bottom with a platebody and l4 scim and staff. After reading this I might go to range armour and a dagger. If the enemy team blockades our base and I end up in there, I deposit everything I have, turn on smite and the prayer for +15% attack, run out and start punching/theiving. When I am about to die I switch to retribution (I can hit at least 13 max doing that). I have actualy killed with retribution. It was a melee guy, retribution hit 3 when I died killing him. I have noticed the smart mages have food making it near immpossible to get their runes solo (need mass theiving and pray they cant do a multi attack ice spell).

What would be the best incentive...
Jagex figured it out already. Its a dual pronged strategy of continues members updates combined with f2p teasers. I am not joking, that is by far the most effective strategy to date, and I belive that teh teasers are a bigger factor in pushing people 'over the edge' than extra content can ever be. F2p teasers include: Type 1: A sample of members only content -Holiday events with a tatste of members content (the chochatrice ring any bells?) Type 2: Activities where members get extra -Holiday events with extra members rewards -The duel arena -The member only sections of skills Type 3: In your face members content in free play areas -Varrock Achievemt Diary -Varrock Museum -Members dedicated section of Varrock -Agility obsticales in free areas -The borders of f2p and p2p -The gnome coptors -Stealing creation That is by no means an exustive list. The above combined with continued members updates is the most effective strategy I can think of, and also the one that brought me to members (specificly the Museum put me over the edge).

Call to Peace
Most people who play RuneScape (myself included) come from a generation of 'babying' or instant gratification. To make a long story short, the prevailing attitude of the generation is that they seem to be imbued with a belief that the world ows them something by defult. I am now 18, I get to see the world a bit differently. In the real world, you must do something to get something in return. The people who play dislike any request from f2p for a valid reson. Despite many p2p'ers beliving in this auto intitlement I talked about, for the purposes of RuneScape content they are now on the side giving something. This clears their entitlement belief about the game, they now see that they are giving something and f2p are not (don't even think about mentioning ads right now; everything in due course). Now if f2p start getting content, p2p can see this as a huge injustice. They don't do anything and they already have a huge demo capable of satisfying many players who never go to members. F2p ad revenues are probbaly pretty significant. But they don't pay for members. I would guess the ads pay for servers and maintenance and possibly some bandwidth. Members carry the rest. Members most certainly pays for development. When Jagex gives f2p something, its not because their nice people (though that was true at one time). The original holiday events even up to the famous easter event where we got the ring. That was a out of the goodness of their hearts kind of thing, holiday good will. Now, we see events with p2p content. I was brought to members by their campain of p2p updates in f2p areas (the varrock museaum was what got me). Every update for f2p now, is an investment. The extra revenues that Jagex gets from the new members pays for the f2p updates. Life is not fair. True. You get what you pay for. True (unless its a contractor #-o ). When you factor in teh burden f2p puts on Jagex with the bandwidth costs, the ads don't pay for a whole lot more.

Winter Jackets?
I am going to assume thats farenheight(sp?). It gets to around -15 celcius where I live (before windchill). Last winter it once hit almost -40C with windchill. I usualy wear a Columbia Jacket. Its liner comes out doubling as a jacket for when its closer to zero and not much wind, and the shell is a jacket for when its above 0C, especialy if its wind or raining (lightly). Its 3 jackets in one  I also have a long black lether jacket thats good to around maybe -5C. And I have a trench coat ( ) for when I wear a suit to church (otherwise when wearing a suit I normally wear the lether jacket).

how is MTK approval calculated?
Mining one coal is ~1% approval. Its a bit less, but since I only leave the kingdom for a few (say 3 days), it only ever takes me as many coal as days since I last mined there to get 100%. Coal is the fastest way unless you have a bad mining level or use somethign less than rune pick.

glitches in the new minigame rewards
I find the Quality Testing on this minigame appaling. The minigame and its rewards are riddled with a number of bugs on par with construction (not quite but close I think). Now the glitches in teh minigame rewards aren't as bad as at least one of teh construction glitches, you still have to remember construction was an entire skill, this is a little piece of constent in comparison (albiet a very complicated minigame and rewards, but still). The helm turning into bottoms should have been spooted. There is no excuse for the tools not getting: any exp, no bonus exp, less than normal exp. There is no excuse for missing animations/ wrong animations. There is no excuse for the bow being weilded with a shield (surely one of the QA staff should have thought of that). There was a game cripling glitch that caused games to be 1 minute long. Sure, there are going to be glitches, but the number here is amazing. It's like they rushed it into being and gave it a 5 person 2 minute testing. Actualy they probably played a couple games, ran out and tried the tools on an object from each skill, and tried transforming armour and weapons a couple times. Its just amazing some of the things they missed.

11 November 2008 - Stealing Creation
The game being random is nice but it needs resptricting. I have seen it put almost every kiln in the game in one area, then put everything else elsewheres. This made things slow and later it was armies fighting for control of the kilns. I have also seen maps with next to no level 3 resorces. These are painful because while I can make all level 4 melee equipment and l4 range armour, I need l3 for a summoning familiar, barriers, potions etc. The skillers are only needed to score clay (which is actualy how you win). They are not needed combat seeing as most of them cant make l4/l5 armour anyways. I find myself manufacturing alot of l4 equipment for people and in many cases making armour too. I am one of the few people who actualy gives stuff directly. I have needed a tool countless times to avoid making one at low levels and working up (normally after dieing). Never have gotten one. I have taken to skilling/fighting. Basicly I make stuff from normally l3 clay (for arrows), weaing l4 melee/range armour. I use a summons to keep sending all my valubles to teh home base so that (a) not everything gets stocked at the end of the game as that is totaly unhelpful to teh team and (b)I never die with all that stuff on me. When I fight I keep extra food in the summons. If I or it are about to die I send what it carries to the home base. Personaly I feel like scum when I attack enemy skillers.

New runescape banner?
Thats lucien with the staff of armandyl. This was suggested in the recent quest defender of varrock. They also said they were releasing hints on teh quest everywhere, so the banner seems like fair game.

Wow... that is crazy
I was with a group yesterday that had most people capable of fighting orks, and a couple of us were a match for a knight without to big a problem (thats fighting together). We tried to go to the mage bank from chaos alter and go hit by 2 orks, a knight, a wearwolf and a vampire (all revs). We split up and ran since we were actualy outnumbered (the level 38 does not count, he was there for who knows why being cannonfoder for the rest of us) not to mention outgunned. There are pockets of the things in teh member wild area know. They don't seem intent on patroling so I think it might be an end of a patrol route where they bunch up. For once I didn't run right into the chaos elemental.

Im about to get members. What should i do first ??
Assuming you plan on questing, I would suggest getting all f2p skills to 45+ (50+ is better). This will allow you to focus on members skills without needing to raise f2p ones too (for a while). Personaly I do suggest questing, it will help you learn about the members world by doing many things in many places. I would suggest trying to get the alternative transport methods (fairy rings can be invaluble) such as the fairy rings, spirit trees, and gnome gliders. For a specific first thing, if there is any member activity you have always wanted to do (for me it was castle wars), go do that first. For your second activity, pick a quest that you have the f2p skills to do, then get the member skills you need. This will help you decide what skill to try first. For me it was picking quests to do (normally some reward I wanted), getting the skills to do the quest, then doing another. I wanted to try a whip, so I made the money to buy then got my attack to 70 so I could use it (in that order). Quests I suggest: Druidic Ritual (start here) Tears of Guthix (ASAP but get reqired quests first) Gnome Quests (for spirit trees and gnome gliders) HAM series The one to open up mortania (forget quest) Lost City series (eventualy for fairy ring) If you want a better guide. Look at the museum guide on tip.it, look at all the quests that give you kudos, and do those. (sorry about the lack of names. I forget what quests do what).
