    Thanks guys. Any brand suggestions?
  2. Restarted after a long while being 'dead'. Nice to see them back. @ lorexvath: Where exactly did you read that I was an 'overzealous' leader? I would like to know who said that.

I think he just wants something that's cheap, reliable, and will get him around the city. He doesnt want to use it off-road or anything like that, he just wants an affordable way to get around.

I suppose I would. Does any one know some good one's I could try?

Some people actually think kicking some one in the gonads is ok in a fight... you do realize a guy can get testicular cancer and die from that right? It's supposed to be a weapon of last resort like WMD's are for nations. If youre in a fight for your life (the other guy is trying to kill you) or if youre being sexually assaulted, then sure it's appropriate, but starting a fight with such a cowardly attack is beyond low. Also if some one did that to me, and I got cancer from it, I would probably come back later on and smash their face in with a brick- or worse. It's been turned into a big joke in this country and around the world; we men have been dehumanized by the media. How would woman feel if smashing their breasts in was turned into a joke?

Well I have only been in a few actual fights, back when I was allot younger and small. Needless to say I did not win any of them, and got ganged up on at least once. But now day's being about 6 foot 1 inch, with a wide build, weighing in at around 240-250 pounds (Fluctuates depending on how much I work out), and packing one nasty punch I figure I could wipe the floor with any of those guys who used to bully me around when I was a kid. Ok so I am a little overweight, but allot of it's muscle. Right now I don't have any enemy's to fight with, sometimes wish I could track down my old nemesis and challenge him to a fight. No doubt he is built very similar to myself, might actually be a little tougher, but I owe him one...

Hello. My uncle asked me to try and find out about motorbikes. He wanted to know what kind would generally be reliable used. He wants to get the kind he does not need a license for, and that would be cheap used (around $500). If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them. Also since this is the only topic with the title Motor Bikes, I suppose you can discuss them in general.
  8. Actually Mr. D we never had a single porn image put on our site thanks to my vigilant efforts. Every account that has been made since... well pretty much the beginning required admin validation. Before I just approve an account I try to check out the Email Address and User Name. If a search turns up a spammer, or some one who is a member of a bunch of porn sites, I ban him, and see how many times he keeps coming back. One way to tell if it's a spammer is if a search turns up multiple results on different forums of the same account having recently registered. Just having to wait to be validated stops allot of these people dead in their tracks... some times I think they are bots.
  9. The only problem their is some people do not have a common sense of decency. We had a few bad seeds slip through the applications system in the past... they sure knew how to make others feel lousy by calling them filthy names- and making obscene suggestions. Needless to say they got the boot quite promptly. I would not say we are exactly G rated, more like PG-13. Still we rarely use profanity, unless its to strengthen our posts. An example would be Damn those guys where good ok so I dont even have many examples to give, because our members tend to refrain from using profanity just out of habit. Now what they do away from the board, and not towards each other is none of my business, I just ask that they treat each other with respect on my board. This includes treating my board with respect and not turning it into a cess pool.
  10. Well I did not watch the video (56k), but I have to ask if these predictions are taking into account the limitations of Silicon based technology? They have already reached an impasse as I recall hearing a year or so ago... just look at the new video cards (9800gx2 for example) they are almost a foot long! Now this doesnt mean they won't find new materials to do this with... but I highly doubt any one of us (unless we become really wealthy and influential) will be able to purchase such a powerful computer. The implications of this should be obvious for any one: Sentient AI- perhaps surpassing our own intelligence many times. Need we all sit down and watch Terminator again?
  11. Well we (or rather I) allow some of the less vulgar obscenity's such as "Hell" and "Damn". I do not tolerate the more vulgar language, or our users (on the board) using words as weapons against each other. It has not been hard to enforce this rule; people underestimate the ability of a community's atmosphere to foster respect, and decency. It's all about what you as a leader want for your clan, you don't have to put up with this stuff if you don't want too. Further more if you have the right people they will not have any problems with your rules about profanity. As for the wrong people: In my case I simply ask them to leave if they cant get their language under control.
  12. Nice toy's but will they play Crisis ;) Seriously though this is a good idea if properly administered. Simply dropping off a laptop to a child won't do him/her a bit of good. Sending them to schools seems like the best idea... or for that matter developing super cheap desktops for schools... Still they are supposed to be reliable in the conditions that these people live. I don't get why people are complaining that this company is giving computers instead of food, medicine, or money to schools. This is a computer company after all, not a food company, nor a medical company. You wouldnt ask a doctor to fix your car, or a mechanic to remove your appendix. In the end they are here to make money, even if they are a charitable organization. By increasing their revenue they can invest more in production, which means more, and cheaper laptops for the intended recipients. What's more who's dictating that they have to be a charity? Creative Capitalism promoted by Bill Gates (one of the worlds most charitable men) is all about bringing the benefits of Capitalism to markets (and peoples) that are otherwise ignored, such as the third world.
  13. Welcome back to the Clan World Apathy! I wonder how well you guy's will do this time around.
  14. Not haveing a Digital Camera to upload a picture of myself with, I have used my best guess and come up with this: Admittedly I am nowheres near as Evil as this guy.

And I thought us Yanks had it bad. They actually jack up the price of diesel by 50%?!!! Are they out of their minds? One poster mentioned Welfare, and I would have to agree with him if that's the case in his area. A person is supposed to at least try to find work in order to qualify, unlike Social Security.
  16. Well said Mr. Pez. Perhaps regulating how much alcohol an 18-21 year old may consume would be one alternative to banning the consumption altogether. I myself enjoy a glass of wine with my meals, and don't see anything wrong with consuming the drink in moderation. Personally I would like to see it legal for well... every one (yes, this means children) to have a nice glass of wine at dinner, or before the go to bed to help them sleep. It's much healthier than taking a sedative. Indeed some say its actually healthy to drink certain kinds of wine.
  17. ^^ The Prince- great book. I just finished reading "What if? 2" It contains a series of essays by different experts about how history might have been changed as a result of events going differently. Some are major such as decisive battles, others are so obscure such as the last chapter "What if Pizzaro had not found potato's in Peru?" That one was real good, said the potato is the unsung hero of the industrial revolution.
  18. Well I don't do much in the way of Push Ups, or Bar Bells, but I do swim every other day for well over an hour at a time. And let me tell you: Swimming builds Muscle! Seriously guy's, swimming- if you do it right works wonders. So does walking for 30 or so minutes a day. Now just laying on your back and taking a nap while in the water does not count, you have to do your exercises. My personall favorite would be an odd backstroke I like to call the Trireme (after the old Greek and roman ships). Simply lie on your back, try to keep your head (nose at least) above the water, and use your arms both at once to propel yourself. With proper form you can reach surprising speeds in a calm body of water. Fighting a current however makes this allot harder. To do this right do not use your legs as a means of propulsion, try to keep them togeather. Just thought I would share with all of you a great way to get in shape that is actually fun instead of painful. It won't do everything (like give you that 6-pack you always wanted) but it's a great start for any one who is out of shape, or wants to build up stamina.
  19. Just lowering the age to drink to 18 I am in favor of. Changeing any other laws like saying it's ok to drink and drive however I am not ok with. on another simmiler note it was kindof funny when I was buying a cheap cigar last week... they asked for ID and said I had to be at least 21  I am older than that!
  20. Yep, like they said. Spybot currently covers pretty much all kinds of spyware, with the exception of cookies. What Spybot can't deal with Ad-Aware generally does.
  21. I am using TipIt theme skin. I have not had this problem again since the day I made this topic. Either it was something Spybot fixed, or some problem with the forum content on that day. Killife mentioned it could be from an Advert. I would agree with him on it's being a possibility. Might want to check the Ad records on that day and see if any have not been repeated since. Of course this is your Board so its rather silly of me to be making such suggestions. Just trying to help put ideas out their.

Magekiller do you just copy and paste that everywhere you go? I have heard (at least part of) that exact same statement word for word at least once and I could swear it was from you. You should really work on the spelling for that thing. I realize English might not be your first language, but after all this time you should get someone to go over it and work out the spelling mistakes. Or perhaps you have a large text file with different paragraphs that you like to use to make an argument with... yes that must be it. Would explain why a search did not turn up that same speech. In which case I have not heard it word for word in the same order, you just switch the universal argument paragraphs around a little. Yes we are moving towards becoming a nation like Mexico. And it is not simply because of the Tax System we have. Other things contribute to it such as NAFTA, and Illegal Immigration. What are your opinions on those?

    Taxation

We are getting allot of post rather quickly :D OK so I live in the United States. Everyone seems to think we have low taxes- we don't. Americans on average spend a quarter of their yearly income on taxes in one form or another. We have just to name a few: Income Tax Sales Tax Property Tax Income and sales tax are the one's I can live with, but why should some one be taxed for property? I mean you are not making money off of it unless youre a farmer, or own a business. Back during the early day's of our nation many prominent Americans where apposed to this one, yet it is still here. Frankly I don't know why we still have federal income tax. Can't the government just responsibly print the money, or nationalize certain gold and silver mines to back up the currency? Of course we all know they can't, their too irresponsible as it is. I would like to see a flat income tax replace all federal taxes as a start to tax reform. Of course so would lots of others. Such a tax should start at the national average say's I, and be reduced proportionately the further down from that level of income an individual makes. I also think the government needs to be held more accountable for it's wasteful spending practices. Instead of this we keep paying our taxes and grumble a little if they add new ones. Oh we also have some very unjust taxes such as Inheritance Tax AKA Death Tax. Another idea to reduce the need for taxation is to raise tariffs on goods brought into our nation. Instead we have NAFTA- the North American Free Trade Act. Our people are becoming unemployed more and more as manufacturing jobs are shipped overseas partly as a result of this act.

'In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes." ~ Benjamin Franklin Hello fellow TipIters. I was surprised to find that no topic dealing with the subject of taxation exists here. So I decided to create one. I would like to know your views on this subject, and if we are lucky we may have a rather lengthy discussion that just won't die out on the matter. So here is your chance to submit your views on this issue. Happy posting.
  25. Err... did this topic just die? Seems this happens allot around here. Well I will give a try to breathe some more life into it. Let's see... what can I say to get [bleep]e peoples interests? I know! How about we start a grassroots movement to get this to happen right here at TIF? Probably would be a conflict of interest some how... Ok scratch that one. We got allot of people agreeing that BHM needs changing, or to be removed altogether. I think that's why this topic pretty much died out, not enough arguments; too many people agreeing. How is it in other country's that had slavery? Do they take an entire month each year to remember all this stuff?
