    Flag Burning.

A black person is a human like your brother, sister, father, mother. A flag is a piece of canvas regardless of emotional value people place on it. Why don't we just make it a Hate Crime to burn the American flag? I mean to me and many other Americans it feels much the same as it does to a black person to be called the N word, or other derogatory and illegal names given to minorities. I don't mean to turn this into a topic about hate crime laws and how I believe they are in violation of the constitution, but since they can at least bend the first amendment here for that, why can't they for the symbol of our nation?

    Flag Burning.

First off please define "Hate Crime". Did you know the FBI had to investigate a fireman for a possible "Hate Crime" a while back because he hung up a soaking wet teddy bear to dry on a string? "Hate Crime" in this country could mean just about anything, it's become a witch hunt. EDIT: I have to ask this: if it's against the law to display a noose to a black person, or call him the N word, even though the latter is protected by the first ammendment, why the hell is burining and spitting upon the American flag legal?
  3. Well if they do this right and make it F2P I just might come out of retirement. But somehow I have my doubts this will be a good enough replacement for the old wild, much must be risked or the victories are hollow.

    Flag Burning.

You got the two switched, Republic is the first one, Democracy is the second.
  5. Did you check if your school had an opening as an assistant to the local tech? Might conflict with your schedule, buy maybe their is something you could do after school or a few hours before to earn a little extra cash. Depends on the school I suppose, mine already had two techs so their was no openings as I understood it.

    Flag Burning.

Their is freedom of speech and of the press. The two both cover words- written and spoken, they do not cover acts of subversion such as burning a nations flag. The right to peacefully assemble is also covered in the first amendment, their is nothing peaceful about burning a flag as an act of subversion or protest. Protest, that's also covered in the first amendment and it is here that flag burning managed to squeeze into it. Here is a short explanation of the issue, and why it is legal in this country: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_amen ... ag_burning I don't like it, and believe it should not be covered under the right to protest, or any other right. The only time a flag should be burned is to properly dispose of it after it has become worn or soiled. A flag is the symbol of a nation, a banner under which armies have marched, and for which soldiers have died. To burn, spit upon, or otherwise desecrate it is to make an attack upon all those who have made sacrifices for it. Please do not tell me about how outlawing this would hurt the first amendment, for it has already been violated with outrageous things such as Hate Crime Legislation. We don't have freedom of speech in this country, only of acceptable speech. We don't have freedom of expression either, only if it's acceptable (putting a cross in cow crap and calling it art is acceptable, while putting a noose in a co-workers locker as a practical joke is not), or if youre a minority (if your black you can say the dreaded N word, if your white you will find yourself facing a Judge).
  7. A: I pretend to be dead for a short while, about ten seconds, then jump up and give every one a terrible fright  B: Because you are showing it off (for me to stare a woman really has to outdo herself with tight, or more likely almost non-existent clothing. C: shout an obscenity at them that ends with Off! D: probably start whatever I am going to say with a throat noise similar to Ahem. Here is a case E for you: Find yourself being bullied by some scum that has you outnumbered. Answer: Evaluate the situation first, determine what assets I have in the area (potential weapons, friends) then decide whether to put the scum in their place. Yes that is quite a militant answer to the question, and I can see why you did not ask things like that... quite different from the others which involve no risk of physical harm.
  8. Well since every one is seems to be intent on debating the subject I thought I would post the link to an article on Wikipedia about the subject of National missile defense: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missile_shield Their is a constant struggle between the sword and the shield. The sword always wins in the end, or so I am told. In other words the Russians, Chinese, North Koreans, and any other hostile nation with nuclear capabilities will if they want to badly enough (and have the required resources) find way's to overcome our defenses. Our best defense is and always has been MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction).
  9. No I don't think they are doing a very good job. Clan Chat is not what it should be, nor is the wilderness. They failed to replace what was lost when they changed it from PVP to PVM (Player Vs Player to Player Vs Monster). Allot of clan's suffered from this change including Militos Deci. Bounty hunter is not a suitable substitute and is not favorable to clan in general due to the combat restrictions placed upon them. Clan Wars was not that good when I retired, don't know if they did anything to improve them. I think Jagex really needs to have it's staff join some of the more popular clan's out their on their regular accounts (not the one's with golden crown's) and actually become full fledged members. Perhaps if they do so they will have a better understanding of what the clan world is like, and what it was before the January updates. Jagex's main priority for clan support should be to bring back the old wilderness; all they need to do is make some small changes and restrictions. Perhaps having it start in level 20 right off would be a big improvement. As for Bots: Jagex needs to lighten up a bit, if a few get through from time to time it's not that big a deal. While we are on the subject of bots and all the obtrusive changes that where made to stop them, I need to ask this: How many of you would be willing to have the bots back if it would bring back the old game instead of this completely different one?
  10. Well like it or not we are taking action over their to prevent the Russians from simply taking over. We are taking control of the air and sea ports for example. I am surprised we haven't reinforced the capital by now to prevent it from being knocked over too easily... not all us Americans are saber rattling at the moment. I was surprised to hear Dr. Savage (one of the, if not the leading independent conservative talk show host) say that we have no business interfering in what he considers a Russian affair. I thought he of all people would be calling us to arms. The Georgian president has made many claims and accusations about Russian persecution of his people in country. These claims include that they are murdering civilians, and putting them in concentration camps: http://www.nypost.com/seven/08142008/ne ... 124392.htm If this proves to be true- to the full extent of these allegations I for one wouldnt mind at this time annihilating the Russian forces their. Of course I am sure I would regret that decision some time down the line.
  11. Well during the cold war it never went nuclear... came close with the Cuban missile crisis. I for one can see a potential for a military confrontation in Georgia, even a full scale conventional war if both sides are crazy enough to take it to that level. However even the Soviets where not crazy enough to step up the cold war with nukes. Worse case scenario: we start world war three with nukes kept in reserve, and ends in a stale mate some years later after millions die on both sides- most likely neither side will be permitted to attack the mainland of the other, or else nukes would be deployed. Still I think it more likely this will be resolved by either diplomatic means, or with a military standoff between our forces and the Russians. The former is preferable of course.
  12. I know this is a little late... but one month has not quite expired yet. I haven't put it in yet, did not really notice. I retired from my position as leader of the order a month or so back, so now that I think about it that's the reason I don't fill it in. Although I have retired I stayed on as the Root-Admin, and am sort of a member in that capacity... But I don't play Runescape any more, so I am not exactly a part of the Runescape clan known as Militos Deci. I am more of a member of the forum community their...
  13. More to the point this helps stop the bombings, as they would be bombing "our" air and sea ports.
  14. Well guy's here is some more news: http://home.peoplepc.com/psp/newsstory. ... 2112830113 If this thing turns into a shooting war one can only hope the two powers involved here have a strong enough sense of self preservation to keep it confined in the conflict zone, similar to Korea. While it is true that our forces are superior in most ways to the Russians one must consider the vulnerable supply lines involved here. Going it alone might not be the best idea, but I am confident we will not overextend ourselves, as any military assets we send there are simply too valuable. I believe an F-22 costs around 90 million dollars for example. Then again I do not have the greatest confidence that our government always acts in the nations best interest but rather in the interests of the elite. In which case the goal here is to justify a serious increase in military spending, and thus the revenue of the Arms Industry. Edit: for that matter we should consider the Russian arms industry and what they have to gain... might not be much though if military spending is already very high over their.
  15. I certainly hope the government has the good sense to keep this technology a state secret for many years to come, at least until we know what it's applications could be. Might turn out to be a gimmick that has no practical uses- can only get it to work in a controlled environment. Still better safe than sorry, I would rather not wake up one day to hear the Red Chinese fleet is off our coast.
  16. Well we might be getting into it with Russia if they keep up the invasion of Georgia. In which case I expect our air forces to be among the first to engage them in hostilities due to their rapid ability to be deployed around the world (just hop from one airbase to the other). Their are plenty of pretenses for engaging the Russian military in Georgia without setting off a shooting war elsewheres. During the Korean War the Chinese sent over 900,000 "volunteers" to turn the tide in the norths favor. Back then we where also taking on Russian migs flown buy Russian pilots. We are long overdue to return that favor.
  17. Looks like the cease fire was short lived: http://home.peoplepc.com/psp/newsstory. ... 1181337897
  18. I wouldnt go as far as to say that we (the US) could not take on the Russians in Georgia. We have ACR's (Armored Cavalry Regiments) that can be quickly deployed and take on entire Russian armored divisions on their own (if only for a limited time). We also have nine aircraft carriers (last time I checked) and I wouldnt be surprised if a task force is on it's way at the time of this writing. But getting involved here may have far reaching consequences, not the least being a hostile Russia. Then again they are not exactly our friends anyways, considering how they intervened for Iran. Why can't we do the same for Georgia? Also no one here has mentioned the obvious: that Moscow may be testing the water, seeing what they can get away with.

Your Type is ISTJ Introverted Sensing Thinking Judging Strength of the preferences % 44 62 25 1 You are: Moderately expressed introvert Distinctively expressed sensing personality Moderately expressed thinking personality Slightly expressed judging personality Okay... I think it believes I am some sort of an idiot... Just because I don't "easily" grasp something doesnt mean I don't with a little effort. I should also point out that they want money for the other tests... On the plus side they did put me in with Harry Truman and Queen Elisabeth the Second. Also I read the thing and it sort of figured me out... say's I am a "Inspector Guardian". I am not that Anti Social though, I can tolerate people, I just don't enjoy the company of strangers who won't give me the time of day.
  20. Thank you very much, it works
  21. http://www.usatoday.com/news/world/2006 ... -van_x.htm Yeah, 'cause it's not like the United States executes [developmentally delayed] people, or holds people indefinitely in overseas prisons without bringing them up on charges.... or executes foreigners without giving them access to their consulate.. Yes the Chinese sure do love their death vans... I almost thought for a moment their you where agreeing with Ginger and put up an article about us doing something. On another note Georgia has pulled out of South Osseta and is asking for that cease fire again. The Russians claim they have to verify that Georgia has indeed pulled out: http://home.peoplepc.com/psp/newsstory. ... 0300090174 Any one want to wager that Russia will continue its bombings in the mean time?
  22. I do believe the picture has been stretched (too high). Please keep in mind that the sample provided is not of even height and width, so you will have to compensate in order to avoid distortion.
  23. Well need we go down the list of human rights violations of the Russian Federation, and the former USSR? If you disagree with the government over their you end up in a gulag, or worse. That and it would not exactly be good for my country (the United States of America) to have an old adversary restored to its former glory.
  24. This is indeed lousy news. I do not know which side is to blame here... probably both, but if the reports of Russian aggression into Georgian territory and the bombing of their cities is true, then it is the Russians who have crossed the line here and started a full scale war. I read one article that said Georgian websites are down due to cyber attack; sure enough I can't get them up. I think we need to consider sending the marine expeditionary force to Georgia to get the intelligence we need about exactly what is happening their, and keep the Russians from overrunning the country. Naturally we should not take any aggressive action against the Russians until we have the full picture... something like Desert Shield. Of course that's up to our leaders, but we really shouldnt let the Russians get away with taking Georgia out- not if we have interests over their. The Georgian military is to say the least dwarfed by the Russians. I heard Georgias president offered a cease fire yesterday I believe, but Russia is saying they never got it. The Russians do have a track record as masters of propaganda, one might say they can start a war and make it look like the other country's fault.
