Items like raw bird meat and harpoons aren't "rarely used" (or should I say, "rarely bought") because they are summoning ingredients.

Jagex did say that items will never rise above a shop's selling price or fall below its buying price. However, Jagex also made exceptions for certain unstackable items: Apparently, Jagex has gone back on its word.
  3. Jagex did a piss-poor job with the revenants. Jagex had intended for revenants to replace PKers, but they don't even come close. For one thing, revenants are ridiculously overpowered on F2P. Since when could an F2P player hit over 30 with magic? Also, the revenants' behavior isn't even realistic. They tend to be randomly spread across the Wilderness instead of places where PKers gathered. I also don't recall being attacked by every single player I met in the Wilderness. Finally, their drops are a joke. Whereas PKers often dropped expensive equipment, revenants rarely dropped them. I personally like the idea of "lost souls" as suggested by another poster. They could be the equivalent of 3-itemers who enter the Wilderness for non-PKing reasons. These "lost souls" would only give token drops while the aggresive revenants would drop loot ranging from bronze to barrows, depending on their level. Perhaps revenants could also use a "drop potential" system like in PvP worlds.
  4. This computer has a 3 GHz processor and 512 MB of memory.
  5. I think it's only against the rules if you use it to RWT or transfer something to another account of yours. As far as I'm concerned, the limits are nothing more than technical features.
  6. Hmm, I never changed the RAM on this computer.
  7. Over the last few weeks, I've gotten a lot of "low on virtual memory" warnings and my PC lags a lot. This generally happens after I play RuneScape, although restarting solves the problem. However, the PC lags even after RuneScape is closed. Has anyone else been experiencing this?
  8. I was tempted to try the code but I didn't want to get banned. I think the code only crashed the game if it was type in chat. I entered the code on the login screen (in the username field) and nothing happened.
  9. Does this glitch work on all versions of the RuneScape client? For example, will I be immune to the glitch if I use Firefox?
  10. Anyone remember the "Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm" bug from RuneScape Classic? :D
  11. I guess the price of strange fruit will crash. It may be a good idea to sell them quickly.
  12. One common sentiment of many players is that the RuneScape hiscores are unfair because members get more skills (thus a higher skill total) and many skills are easier to train on the members version. However, check out this J-mod reply on the FunOrb forum: Does anyone think the same could happen to RS in the future?
  13. I may be wrong, but I think the trade limit only affects how much of your drops other players can see; I don't think it affects the amount of items you can pick up.
  14. I really like how there might be worlds that are reserved for high-level players. I'm not too sure about removing the Stronghold of Security, though. The ankous are good XP.
  15. The new skill is going to be sailing! It's not far down to paradise At least it's not for me And if the wind is right you can sail away And find tranquility The canvas can do miracles Just you wait and see Believe me... OK, seriously, though... I think sailing IS going to be added some time in the future, but it won't be a new skill. Rather, it will be a combination of existing skills like some people have said. For example, building a sailboat may take a certain construction, smithing and crafting level while using it will take a certain strength and agility level.
  16. Also, in many cases, the main game is usually larger than any expansion packs. :)
  17. Unfortunately, the free membership seems to apply only to players who were falsely banned for abusing the penguin bug. I was falsely banned in October 2007 for "hacking" someone and the appeal was ultimately successful, but Jagex told me that only those involved in the penguin bug were reimbursed. I also lost my p-mod status, which Jagex has not given back to me.
  18. Great minds think alike! Anyways, I support.
  19. nachalo, konets I agree with Jard_Y_Dooku - it is rather unfair that a player could not get a certain holiday item (tradable or untradable) just because they joined too late. As you said, the problem with the untradable holiday items can be easily solved. However, making such a large change to the tradable items could be problematic and it will upset many players whether Jagex compensates them or not. Another idea is to make the tradable items rare monster drops or mini-game rewards, and when I say rare, I mean extremely rare. For example, the Chaos Elemental could have a 1/50000 chance of dropping a party hat or Mandrith might have a 1/100000 chance of giving that lucky PKer a santa hat while giving them their cash reward. There would be a constant supply of them, but the price would not change much.
  20. It is very likely that MMG's introduction is merely lip service, but if he was being sincere, then these are my predictions for future updates, ranked from most to least likely: [*:kui1pyzg]Less of that "You must be a member to do this" crap [*:kui1pyzg]Events like drop parties and parades [*:kui1pyzg]Jagex staff will post on fan forums more [*:kui1pyzg]More frequent F2P updates [*:kui1pyzg]Return of activities like high-stakes duelling and drop parties, but with anti-RWT measures [*:kui1pyzg]The ability to turn off the chat filter [*:kui1pyzg]Slightly better customer support On a less serious note... *throws shoes at Andrew Gower*
  21. I saw Lilyuffie88 at the runecrafting guild several days ago. Edit: Paulrat3 (#1 crafter) is also there.
  22. I've been "hacked" twice. The first time was in April 2003. I lost over 50 Santa hats and 30 msks, which were worth over well a billion today. I think it was because I was a high profile target since I was the 40th person to get level 99 cooking. I guess it's also partially my fault since I had a very easy password. The second time was in 2004 right after RS2 was released. I was dumb and fell for the "Jagex blocks your pass!" scam. Luckily, I recovered quickly and lost only a few staves.
  23. In RuneScape Classic, players received the message "You are under attack!" if an NPC or monster attacks them in melee and "Warning! is shooting at you!" if another player attacks them with ranged or magic. However, RS2 does not have this feature. In RS2, it is generally pretty obvious if you are being attacked, but when you are in a very crowded location, such as the center of Fist of Guthix, you may not realize you are under attack until it is too late. Therefore, players should be able to choose whether they want the game to display combat indicator messages, which do exactly the same thing as they did in RSC. There should be another option called verbose mode, which allows the player to see the detail of their fights. An example may look like: There should also be an option for showing the data from your clan members. For example: Of course, "verbose mode" doesn't really have a major purpose, but it would definitely give RS a D&D-like "feel" to it.
  24. Sorry, there was something I forgot to clarify. If the player sells the party hat, they get the low alchemy value, NOT the GE value.
  25. When the Grand Exchange was released, Jagex changed general shops such that items in the "player stock" were at least the GE price. Jagex says this change was made to prevent RWT. However, Jagex overlooked (or deliberately ignored) two issues: 1. It is no longer possible to get goods like uncut gems and coal for very low prices. 2. If a player accidentally sells something with a high market price, they will have to pay that price in order to get the item back! Therefore, I am proposing a new shop system that allows players to get cheap goods from general shops but heavily discourages RWT. The shops should sell "player stock" items according the following rules and definitions: a. A "busy" world is defined as one with over 1,500 players online. b. A "hot" shop is defined as one four shops in high-population areas: Varrock, Falador, Lumbridge and Catherby. c. An "expensive" item is defined as an item worth 5,000 or more GP. 1. For normal shops, non-stackable items worth less than 50 GP and stackable items worth less than 10 GP can be bought at the pre-GE price. 2. For hot shops on busy worlds, items worth less than 5,000 GP can be bought at the pre-GE price. 3. If a player tries to sell an expensive to any shop, they will be given a warning and asked if they want to continue. This warning only appears once per session and can be disabled through the Doomsayer. If the player sells the item, it will not be visible to other players for ten seconds. During this time and this time only, the player could buy back the item at price they sold the item. This is to prevent players from accidentally selling expensive items to general shops. 4. After those ten seconds, the item will be visible to other players at the post-GE price, but it will also appear at one of he four "hot" shops at the pre-GE price. 5. If the player sells an expensive item at a normal shop on a non-busy world, the item will appear at one of the "hot" shops on a randomly selected busy world. 6. If a player sells an item worth over 50k, it will not appear to other players for another 60 seconds. During this time, the shopkeepers will yell "Great deals appearing in ! First come first served!"
