a possible legal way to transfer wealth
Disclaimer: I'm not advocating RWT. I've realized that there may be a way to transfer wealth to another player. This method requires you to be a member. I don't know if this still works, but here it is: The player receiving the items must have recently trained construction. As we know, construction is a rather expensive skill. The supplies cost a lot, but the completed products (the flatpacked items) are pretty useless. However, the last time I checked, the flatpacked items are worth quite a bit in the GE. It may be possible for the person receiving the wealth to give low-level items in exchange. Has anyone tried this yet? Basically, you're buying the useless flatpacked items from the person you want to give gifts to.

More Grand Excrement Lies
The trade restrictions and the Grand Exchange are the only tools that Jagex needs to control prices. However, Jagex claims that it lets players control the price. Logically, that statement would make your head spin, but Jagex says that with a straight face. Of course, players can gradually change prices by constantly trading at the upper or lower end of the 5% limit, but nobody is going to sacrifice their wealth by selling far below or buying far above the market price. All in all, the Grand Exchange is .

Summoning too hard to level?
0.1 EXP per summon? Is this some bad joke by Jagex?

The Anagrams translated. I guess they're both solved.
In the event when Jagex posts future anagrams, this site might be useful: http://wordsmith.org/anagram/ Oh, and I bet Robert Langdon would be able to solve these in an instant! (It's an inside joke for those who have read/seen The Da Vinci Code.)

That was creepy... should I be worried? [closed: answered]
Oh, I see. She was probably playing a prank. Thanks for the information.

That was creepy... should I be worried? [closed: answered]
Earlier today, I was talking to a fellow TIF user (Plugpoint92) when a possible impostor, Plugpoint_92 (with a space) PMed me and later started to swear at me. http://s149.photobucket.com/albums/s71/ ... postor.png I asked the person if they knew Plugpoint92 (the real one) and they said they didn't. I asked Plugpoint92 whether she knew Plugpoint_92 and she didn't seem to know them later. The creepy part was the impostor started PMing me at the same time I started talking to the real Plugpoint92. Unless the person is Jagex, they would be unable to monitor who I talk to. Should I be concerned about this?

The 3k Limit is Finalized - Everyone's Thoughts
On a personal level, I bet that at least some of the 300+ Jagex staff are against the update as well. But they're probably not allowed to post their personal opinions under their mod names, as that would destabilize Jagex. However, some of them are probably ranting under their normal player names as well.

dumb questions about BH
In each crater, are there even tighter level restrictions, or is attacking other players free for all? In other words, does the crater act like level 52 Wilderness?

Your first kiss
If you guys think it's bad, I'm 22 and never had a first kiss yet. :oops: Well, aside from kisses from mom. :lol: I do have a funny and rather embarrassing experience, though. When I was around seven or eight, I thought that kisses always went with hugs. Well, one of my teachers hugged me, and well, you can imagine the rest. :oops: I don't think that counts, though. :P

dumb questions about BH
I have two questions about Bounty Hunter. 1. In each crater, can you attack any player, or are there still level restrictions, like in the old Wilderness? 2. Is the pick-up penalty one-time, or does it reset whenever you pick up an item? In other words, if I picked up a non-target's item, waited two minutes, and picked up another item, will I have to wait one more minute, or will it reset to three minutes? Thanks.

A Lack of Communication, A Lack of Respect
I completely agree with Qeltar, but Bobbington2 does have a valid point. In 2006, a Tip.It Times editor accused Jagex of false bannings, and Andrew threatened to sue him, because he claimed that the editor was saying false things about Jagex.

Days of infamy: the worst is yet to come
Several of the RuneScape updates of Q4 2007 were aimed at stopping real-world trading, and none of them were without controversy. On November 20, 2007, Jagex added a 3,000 coin cap to staked duels and caused massive outrage, despite the fact that it also added the tournaments as a compensation. The rioting and rants were bad, but far from the worse. After all, players could easily get around the staking limit by honor/trust staking. Ten days later, Jagex changed the party room such that bankers would teleport players in, thus allowing "noobs" to crash "private" parties. To make matters worse, players are teleported in to the room, so spam-closing the doors had no effect. There wasn't much ranting, because some party hosts liked doing old-fashioned parties (where items are manually dropped) and people could still hold in-house parties. However, then came December 10, 2007. Considered by some players as the day that lived in infamy, Jagex made PKing much more difficult, and changed the game such that items worth over 3,000 would not appear to other players when dropped. I must give Jagex credit, as this prevents players from drop trading, which is against the rules. The only people affected by this are those who host old-fashioned parties, so there wasn't much people upset. However, the PKing update upset many players, and the Rants forum hit a record 1,300+ users online at once. It could have been worse, but many players already predicted such a change and had time to prepare for it. However, today's update may be the worse. Players who regularly staked, PKed, and/or hosted old-fashioned parties probably make up about 25% of the population. To Jagex, these players are, one word, expendable. A loss of 25% of the players will not make Jagex go out of business. However, today's update affects everyone. How many of you have given friends gifts of over 30k, or bought a whip 100k over the street price because you wanted one badly, or had bank sales with greatly reduced prices because your membership was to expire soon? Also, the 3k/30k limit applies to the entire trade, not just one item. If you buy 30k metal bars, you can't pay more than 1gp over or under the street price. There goes merchanting. You can use the GE, but nobody is going to sell Santa hats at the lowest price or buy them at the highest price there. It may not be obvious, but the trading update affects nearly every single player. I guess we'll see the full effects of this soon.

Unbalanced trades -> more f2p quest?
The funny thing is that F2P players are less likely to buy gold. :lol: Jagex cna make it so that F2P players have no trade limit, but that won't prevent a RWTer from buying a lot of gold before joining members.

So I snal mailed Jagex..
Someone should go to the Jagex office and talk to the staff in person. If the company disallows visitors, then maybe wait outside until some Jagex staff member comes out?

Summary of chairity drive. (with snow party pics on page 4)
Wow, does Trapical really have 450m? That's really impressive for someone with only 909 skill total! :D I think he was a party hat merchant back in the day. And no, Trapical did not break rule 12. The drop party is independent of the donations, so no real-world trading has happened.

~~~How will/has the 138 CB cap affect/ed the game?~~~ =~)
I can only think of three cons: 1. Level 126 won't be that respectable anymore 2. Tip.It will have to rediscover the combat level formula 3. Bounty Hunter will need re-adjustments
Tip.it Times Presents: Fame
Very good read. Another point I'dlike to make: unless you make the national news, you won't be "famous" in real-life. You certainly won't get crowds following you in real-life just because you're ranked #1 in an online game. My parents always told me that virtual "fame" in an online game means nothing. By the way, this thread might be an interesting read: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=636062 For some reason, people seem to be more interested in online than real achievements. People always talk about Zezima in RuneScape, yet nobody talks about the person with the highest GPA at my university.
I got arrested.
That officer totally abused his power. This is like a RuneScape player moderator saying "give me your whip or I'll mute you." Unless the officer has reasonable suspicion, you can refuse the search, provided that he does not have a warrant. Also, if the officer is to arrest you, he must read you your Miranda rights. I hope that the officer would be removed from force. I wouldn't do that, IMO. That would give the officer the right to use lethal force.
