  1. Ooh my mistake, I guess I'm interested in it too now =P~
  2. "Cooking - Super speed powerfishing rocktails up to 900k XP hour although it's nearly impossible to keep up at max speed" please elaborate I think he meant it in a sense where there's no delay between catching each rocktail so you're continually catching rocktails, which is theoretically possible but very, very, very (very..) unlikely. Theoretically, it's possible but then we could apply that same concept/idea to many other skills.. we have to take it with a grain of salt and think realistically though
  3. It's more expensive to pay via PayBySMS because there's other fees distributed to the companies doing the services as an intermediary between you and Jagex. Also I can't help but notice you're trapped into this form of payment because you want to sneakily buy some members. May I suggest buying a Runescape membership card or a Gift Credit Card? Hopefully those are better options for you, and there's no traces back to you if you pay by cash at a local store
  4. I'm not sure if another double exp weekend is coming up BUT I was going to suggest that you buy all the supplies now, and wait for 2X weekend. Otherwise I'd say get it now because more people seem to be training/killing dragons during the summer (or anytime for that matter). Yes, another additional EXP weekend will be coming up but who knows when it will be.. could be next week, next month or maybe even next year. I'd say it's better to get the levels now if you have the ability to do so, as they're extremely useful to anything combat related. You won't have to worry about losing it on prayer, since it wasn't included in the bonus EXP the first time around (no modifiers!) There's also been debate as to whether or not Herblore or any other 'buyable' skills should be included in the next installment of bonus EXP time. Everything up to this point is pretty much hearsay, so there's been no conclusive confirmation as to what will or will not be included the second time around. To sum it up, I would advise to train it if you have the ability to do so.. because at this point who knows if it will raise or drop after summer, other people besides you have the same exact plans to cash in on cheap experience after the summer.
  5. The only place Dragonfire Shield really trumps all other shields are Skeletal Wyverns, where even Super Antifire potions can't be used. Even then it's not really needed as it's already fast and effective with cannon, turmoil and extremes. Dragonfire Shield is simply a luxury and you're better off suited with your melee weapon (Chaotic Rapier/Whip) paired with a defender. I'd only buy Dragon Claws to speed up kills when you're able to buy 95 prayer in one go, otherwise it really does speed up your kills per hour and subsequently, your overall exp/hour.
  6. I seriously doubt that players who have most likely magnified their bank worth considerably will not spend their newly found wealth. Assuming that they won't is silly. well some of the merch clan leaders who got tipped off by jmods to this update probably have no need of it... but for the average pker, yes that money will be gone in seconds. I agree that the average PKer would turn around and spend that money quickly. However the average PKer is not going to have a big enough stack for it to really matter. The people I was meaning were thouse who already have huge cash piles sitting in their banks. These are the people who were most likely to have hoarded the boots. They already have more money than they can use. So they'll just have more coins gathering dust in their banks. Concerning the percentage of PKers to other players. If we assume the population of the PKing community is around 5% of the total community, that means the 5% of the community has potential to have stocks of climbing boots. However not ever PKer uses climbing boots. Richer PKers are likely not to. Also, there are a lot of players who, if they lost their boots would just run to the sherpa to get another pair rather than amass them in their banks, or just have a few pairs rather than a stack. So let's say that maybe a third of those players have more than 50 pairs. (please keep in mind I am speculating and not stating this as fact.) So a third of 64,000 is about 21,300, which is about 1.5% of the population. So let's remover the radical factors which are the players whose cash piles are already so huge as to never possibly be used, and whittle it down to about 1%. That leaves roughly 13,000. Now let's estimate that the average number of boots per player among those 13,000, is oh i dunno, maybe 350. That comes out to a cash influx of about 204.75B. That's an average of about 15.75M per person. If you split that pot between the entirety of the 1.5M players, each person would get a whopping 136.5K. I don't know about you, but I don't get out of bed for 136K. Catastrophic? Get real. You have absolutely no proof to suggest that the individuals who have most likely hoarded an obscene amount of boots were those who already have huge cash piles already sitting in their banks. Conversely, I myself have no proof to suggest that the individuals in questions were PKers who have a small bank networth. However, we can conclude that whichever individual had a large stockpile of boots, that they received GP that is disproportionate to the amount they should have received, which to be frank, isn't fair to the rest of the players and the spirit of the game.. something Jagex has been stressing for a while now. Although one of the main issues and concerns with this update is the amount of inflation, and how much of it will affect the economy, many players are forgetting the fact a few select players have received misconstrued and copious amounts of GP due to Jagex's inability to accurately place a proper price tag of the boots itself. Being a competitive game Runescape is, it's not right to turn a blind eye to it as it's money that should have never been. Quid Pro Quo is definitely not the case. Again, you are assuming that PKers were the only ones to purchase Climbing Boots, but this is not the case. It is a cheap, dispensable boots as I have said before - for this reason many people have used the boots as "welfare" gear in many dangerous situations, not only PKers. Your guestimations are pretty much nullified by the fact that they're crude estimates without any real backing. It is catastrophic. Not in the sense of an economic standpoint, but the many, many angry players that have received the short end of the update. In terms of player dissatisfaction, it's been compared to the 2007/2008 updates which were heavily criticized.
  7. Adamant Boots are pretty decent yeah. Pretty decent defense bonuses at the cost of only +1 strength bonus, pretty insignificant really as most PKing outfits already have a semi low strength bonus (usually around +108ish). I'd be surprised if this doesn't become the temporary replacement for the climbing boots, as they're pretty cheap at the moment (around 5k each?) I have around 50 of them from Slayer though, used to have quite an obsession for them and even dropped charms to pick them up sometimes
  8. This is the saddest part. Not only do they mess up an easy, though unnecessary, rebalance they refuse to admit afterwards that they made a mistake. Making excuses, lying, giving poor analogies and offering platitudes does not rally player confidence. Agreed. One of the concerns that players have been voicing in the past years is how really out of touch the developers and Jagex mods are with its players. The update we have at hand here is clearly representative of that, when they poorly misrepresent the actual price of a single item which has led to catastrophic implications :-|
  9. You are making assumptions about other players without any sources or any justifiable reason to do so. Not only is the player killing player base larger than you think, Climbing Boots are regularly used other than PKers.. they are a cheap dispensable item that many others (besides Player Killers) have used. I seriously doubt that players who have most likely magnified their bank worth considerably will not spend their newly found wealth. Assuming that they won't is silly.
  10. In no particular order: Bandit's brew can be bought the Bandit's camp for 650 gp - raises thieving by one Magpie familiars' scroll ability (Thieving Fingers) - raises thieving by two Abyssal familiars' scroll ability (Abyssal Stealth) - raises thieving by four Summer Sq'irk juice - raises thieving by three when consumed Yellow Spicy Stew (not recommended) - raises or lowers by up to 6 skill levels
  11. If you have a Soul Wars cape (the red one would match your boots better ) definitely bring it over a skill cape.
  12. You cannot buy them pre-coloured unfortunately. Everyone else pretty much got the rest of your questions accurately summed up - to answer your colour question you can paint your Abyssal Whip or Dark Bow in the colours: Green, White, Yellow, Blue and of course default (you'd need to get a cleaning cloth in order to reverse the painting process)
  13. Jagex is a reputable company and they would have no reason to steal money away from you. Also you're pretty much protected from your banking company if there is ever a case of fraud. It's free, but they need a credit card in order to verify you (as DD98 said) so that there isn't a sudden influx of certain people they don't want (i.e. Botters, etcetera) Just make sure to cancel your membership after the 7 days are up or else you will be charged, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing - P2P is a great upgrade from F2P
  14. Sorry to be a nuisance, but I don't think my previous question about Spectrals was answered.. would be nice to know actually since I'm keen on entering the lower end spirit shield market. The question was if there was any street price associated with the Spectral Spirit Shield (..might as well ask for Arcane's state too) and if it is, what is it? Or is it hopefully buyable in the GE at this time? Thanks again
  15. I'll have to say (and by doing so essentially support both sides of the argument) that it is nice that we have the perk of being able to say Tip.it in-game without fears of having repercussions against us, but at the same time it's kind of devaluing that as one of the longest fan sites we didn't have this perk at the beginning. Like Saruman said, I'm sure there's been many people who've been muted in the past simply for maybe telling someone to visit this site for some help. It's been long overdue, but at least we have that benefit now - and who knows, maybe more in the future
  16. I used to use Balmung on Dagannoth Supreme until I figured out that Whip + Defender has a greater DPS than it. So, I alched it for a free 130k odd GP, went back and got another one and alched it again  It was fun for the first few times I went out with it seeing the extremely high hits, but it just doesn't cut it. I would assume the same goes for Keris, but I haven't done the quest for it unfortunately.. I'm not exactly a quest person myself >_>
  17. You have to realize that for many people, the whole idea of the game revolves around building competition with other players. Yes, people should be unhappy because putting aside rumours, there should be no reason that warranted the price of climbing boots to be that high. Certain individuals (could be one, two, or hundreds) have most likely amassed wealth that do not accurately reflect the actual price of the climbing boots, contrary to Jagex's view. Quid Pro Quo - something for something.. which in this case is more like something for copious amounts of wealth that should never have been <_< The reality is that yes, odds are items are going to rise slightly, especially those high end items (bandos, etcetera) - most likely due to paranoia and people taking advantage of the situation at hand. They're going to be the target of those who've amassed newfound wealth. Will it have a huge detrimental effect on the economy as whole? Probably not. Is it an effect that should have never happened? Definitely. Good news for slayers, bad news for others. That's probably because doing a farming run itself has nothing to do with the situation at hand
  18. Infi

    HELLO

Welcome, hope you enjoy your stay
  19. O_O Also, your avatar is really terrifying :-|
  20. Maybe then you can replace your ancient avatar with a collection of dragon defenders instead
  21. Charles Barkley says: "That's a turrible idea!"
  22. That was you? I thought it was very well thought out and very well written. I agree with you completely
  23. I feel you. Here's a compilation of my very rare to extremely rare drops that I've gotten recently: ^42 rune arrow drops right before that drop :wall:
  24. I like having a full bank or nearly full bank (335ish slots used) so I can use the deposit all feature for some skills  So full bank space is actually more beneficial to have in the long run
  25. From the other effigy thread; There's also a sticky in the Distractions & Diversions subforum on the RSOF where lots of people frequent for effigy help/assistance and to offer services also
