Regional Preference in the UK?
They're putting the little money the government has left into London only because of the Olympics. Yes, we shouldn't have applied for the Olympics in the first place, but it's the best of a foolish idea. We can't spend any more money on big projects anywhere because we need to cut the government deficit. Hosting the Olympics in London was down to regional bias, it was a mistake, but the government will get more returns from doing it in London than anywhere else. It means that less public spending will be cut in the rest of the country. The article makes the mistake in thinking that if the government can spend £16 billion on something it can spend a further £1 billion on something else. You could continue that train of thought as an argument that the government has enough money to spend on anything in the country which would cost less than £16 billion, which is pretty much everything.

Balmung and Keris...
Keris doesn't have the stats to compare to the whip, and the triple hit is way too rare. Balmung's great on big Dagganoth such as the kings due to the huge strength bonus, but it's still very comparable to the whip and rune defender because of the speed and attack bonuses on the Dagganoth you generally kill for slayer tasks. In my opinion, Jagex messed up when they tried to balance the whip compared to other weapons and should still consider some rebalancing.

Getting the iOS 4.0 update? If you don't have 3GS, 4G, or 3G iPod, you're screwed.
Chip size isn't even the issue right now. If you're arguing that multitasking should have been enabled on the first place, you're taking about RAM. The ARM 11 @ 412 MHz is plenty enough to run the process. The 2G and 3G aren't crippled in that sense because they are better today than they were two to three years ago. That's truly more than you can say about most phones out there. Moore's law counts for RAM too. Computing power was probably the wrong phrase, I was referring to transistors on a circuit. Are they supposed to travel back in time and upgrade the RAM? 4.0 is capable on the 2G, as is multitasking. However, neither (or at least the latter) actually function properly. I'm not sure if you've ever owned either an iPhone 2G/3G and have compared those devices with the 3GS, but the difference is phenominal. As I've said earlier, I've enabled multitasking on my 3G and while it works great for Apple's stock apps, it brings nothing but crashing when used with Pandora and other App store apps. And that is exactly why multitasking is not supported - it cheapens the experience on the phone and totally takes away from the whole point. The 2G and 3G (and every other iDevice) runs Mail, SMS, Phone, and iPod in the background (ie, extremely limited multitasking). The only thing the multitasking would do for these phones is become a switcher - the exact same thing you can do with the homescreen. This is the desired effect of Apple's strategy of developing the generations of iPhone. They held back on the hardware in the first place to make it seem as if they're progressing faster than everyone else. It's akin to supermarkets putting unreasonably high prices on certain products and never advertising it, then cutting those prices to a merely reasonable value and then slapping a '60% OFF' advertisement campaign to give the impression that the price is actually really cheap. And which [phone] company might that be? Google is pretty much null given your above statement, considering that Android hasn't been out for three years. I never mentioned Google. I don't even own a smartphone right now. I'm just saying that Apple should be off the list of trustworthy companies when it comes to its smartphones. I don't think Google makes its own hardware for Android anyway.

IP.
Changing your IP won't make a single bit of difference, and plenty of modems have static IP addresses that don't change no matter what you do. The source of your problems probably lies in a keylogger on your computer, which only sends information one way. It doesn't need to know what your IP address is to do that. A full scan on your anti-virus program should fix that problem.

Getting the iOS 4.0 update? If you don't have 3GS, 4G, or 3G iPod, you're screwed.
Not really. They are two/three year old devices with insufficient hardware to support the more intensive processes. Everything else is enabled. That's the problem. iPhone hardware depreciates way faster than desktop PC hardware, which normally goes from 'completely new' to 'completely insufficient' in six to seven years, following Moore's Law, should the hardware live that long. I appreciate that we're not talking about the 2G being completely insufficient, but it's no longer receiving full OS updates, which is normally something that's 4 or 5 years down the line, not 2 or 3. Apple are intentionally playing the system to get you to buy a new iPhone when you shouldn't need one. You comparing two dissimilar things; you're comparing a nuclear arsenal to convectional ovens. You shouldn't be saying the iPhone hardware depreciates faster, but rather phones as a whole. The 2G iPhone isn't any worse than it was three years ago (actually, it's better, given all the OS upgrades!), but it's not up to standard on running twenty applications simultaneously. Apple actually has a very high standard as far as supporting OSs are concerned. Buy a Samsung/RIM/etc phone and you're lucky to even get an OS upgrade past the date of purchase. Google is pretty good about it too, but you would be hard pressed to go a year without having your phone's OS support being dropped. It's been three years, they can't keep up support forever. 3.1.3 is a great OS to be on. They're not dissimilar. Computing power at any given chip size is doubling approximately every two years. That's the limiting factor for both PC hardware and mobile hardware. They might be at very different levels of computing power, but it's the exponential rate of change of computing power that's the same. I'm saying that the iPhone 2G should have been capable of multi-tasking from the start, but Apple have intentionally made sure that it was only possible in older models. Buy a smartphone from a company that doesn't have such an artificial rate of depreciation.

This is why I didn't get an iPhone. The things become outdated and unsupported as soon as you walk out of the store.

Dragon Kite anyone?
If it follows the path of the other dragon armour items, it's going to be pretty useless. As others have said, there are defensive shields that will be cheaper than the dragon kite that would be considered equal, if not better, such as the Blessed Spirit Shield. It'll be more decorative than functional for it's price. On the other hand, they could add some other feature for it, like adding a Draconic Visage or something.

Does the internet belong to the US?
This. The Internet, despite being vast, is also fluid enough to vacate countries like the US. It physically can't be controlled by any single entity. Not only will that effort be completely ineffective, they'll also cut off probably the most vital resource that US citizens have. Good fight.

After the Dragonkin/Majharrat, what's next?
Actually, I like it how it is, it's a more natural progression of events, even if it's become a bit slow recently. I don't think it would be right if a whole slew of things happened around Varrock and nothing happened anywhere else for several months. Jagex needs to have more quests that actually change things with real consequences. Taking from the 5 most recent quests, Elemental Workshop III was only a logical progression from Elemental Workshop II, nothing more. Fairy Tale Part III was again only a logical progression from Fairy Tale Part II, and it didn't seem to affect anything in Gielinor at all. Buyers and Cellars was just a few thieves up to their usual tricks. The Blood Pact was just rookie Zamorakians up to their usual tricks. Rune Mechanics was just Saradominist wizards up to their usual tricks. In short, nothing consequential is actually happening here, when there really could be. On the positive side, the time travel thing really has something going for it. I think Gypsy Aris is a time traveller, and if that's right, then she could have had a hand in more past events than she makes out. Also, the way the enchanted key works is very similar to the time bubble in Recipe for Disaster.

Student attacks Hells Angels with puppy
There must surely be one of those German compound words for this. Maybe he was just trying it out to see if it could be done?

15 June 2010 - Ancient effigies
Have you even got one yet? You'll find that it does expand on the lore. Fine, then they expanded by such a small degree that they had to invented a measurement for how smallit is: 1 Idiotium and 10 Idiotium equals one Hardtard. A combo of Gerhard and a reta... well you can figure the rest. You are not contributing to the thread. This is only the latest of very stupid posts from you and I sincerely hope that you stop, and rethink similar posts in the future. The mechanic encourages cooperating with other players, which I like. My only gripe with it is that it's another experience reward for having a certain level, which already required tons of experience in the first place. I want to see experience rewards when you have a lower level and more tangible rewards (tools, abilities, equipment, services) for having a higher level, not the other way around.

The chat filter is fine. It's not an issue any more.

14th June 2010 - Guaranteed Content Poll: Halloween 2010 Reward
I voted for the mummy costume. Nothing says lawsuit for copyright infringement like a co-ordinated 'Zombie Dance' with people dressed as ghosts, zombies and mummies.

Additional Fairy Rings
I agree. Maybe throw this into that house update Jagex is planning. What would be the point because there is already a spell that teleports you straight to your house You forget using it in the other direction.

Awesome Magazines?
Wired and New Scientist are very good reads if you're into science.

Additional Fairy Rings
If I can have a fairy ring in the garden of my house, I will be very happy.

Future Update Thread
I'd like to see them update other forgotten skills like they did with herblore. Mainly: smithing, crafting, thieving, farming, hunter, fletching, well every useless/mostly useless skill Yeah, but Dungeoneering is the only skill that has the potential to also supply the updates needed for all of the other skills.

I flushed my report cards down the toilet...?
And the charred paper flies up in the thermal currents and takes a fantastic journey around the world, floating through deserts, storms, blizzards and other assorted epic landscapes, finally landing delicately on your doorstep as your parents get home. Sorry, that isn't surefire either.

I flushed my report cards down the toilet...?
Never dispose of grade cards in your house. Pocket it, go to a park or something and throw it in the bin there. Unless your school is super sneaky and anticipated this by using some kind of waterproof ink and paper, then you're fine, but in any case you broke the toilet. Good job.
