  1. Interesting point. They are from different factions so it makes no sense for any god or group of gods to want to revive them all, without any plan to manipulate them towards a single cause. But that begs the question: Why don't the revanants attack each other? Have they lost all sense of allegiance? If so, might it be easier to convince them to fight for a single god? It seems most likely that Zaros is behind all of this.
  2. That's the idea. They are planning to create bodies out of sacred clay which the 'Holy Ones' will possess and walk the land once more. The head mystic claims he was telepathically led to the portal to the Primordial Realm by the Revenants, but I don't think they have that kind of capacity, nor the knowledge. I suspect that a third entity is at work here, because quite a few gods spring to mind who would happily convince a band of humans to unwittingly make them an army, hardened by the GodWars but with fresh bodies. It sounds like someone's trying to bypass the Guthixian Edicts, and that can't be good.
  3. That's one of the best quotes I've heard for a long time.
  4. Democracy is even less effective in wartime because popular opinion and endless bureaucracy will inevitably withhold from the armed forces the resources they need to achieve decisive victory. It's not about 'decisive victory', there is no 'decisive victory' in war, it always ends in a compromise. It's about defending yourself, and any political structure would make defence a priority because it's in our nature, rational or not, and governments would act accordingly.
  5. But really, how can we be sure of that? We can't do it now, and as far as we know we will never be able to, but realistically we hold an insignificant portion of the knowledge in the entire Universe. So really, anything is possible. You should really read a bit about Einstein. Anything that has mass requires infinite energy to travel at the speed of light. Adding kinetic energy to an object with mass will have less and less of an effect on it's velocity as it approaches the speed of light. When it converges on zero effect, you have used infinite kinetic energy, and the velocity = c. Going beyond it can't be done.
  6. Holy crap that's clever, it converts matter into plasma, then heat and x-rays, then a magnetic pulse, and then finally into electricity. That's got to be really difficult to control at once, all of which has radically different properties, without the stuff dissipating. High energy doesn't like to stay in the same place for very long. They should try it with uranium. I wonder what would happen if someone was in the room at the time? Insta-death?
  7. As compfreak said, there is no way to balance it. Beside it making no sense, you could end up trading for supplies without having to go back to the bank for a very long time. The need to bank frequently balances quite a few aspects of the game, eliminating that causes too many problems for what it's worth.
  8. I've lived in the UK all my life and have never heard of Tiga. It sounds like a good move on both Tiga's and Jagex's part, though, judging from what they do.
  9. It came with the quest update, but it wasn't very obvious. It's a handy feature.
  10. I generally don't have this problem, I just add them quickly, reply and delete afterwards. However, your suggestion would be much more efficient.
  11. Wah, for some reason my reply got deleted. I can't be bothered writing a new really long one. I'll summarise: 1. Forwards time travel is possible, you just spend time close to the speed of light. 2. Backwards time travel may or may not be possible, it depends on physics that we don't know about. Time paradoxes are a problem, but a system of parallel universes might solve them.
  12. C'mon Siobhana, you could have said a bit more about our wonderful site. It's your duty as the Official Tip.It Ambassador! Still, it's good to see that Jagex are getting on with their talks with fansites now. P.S. Good luck Siobhana!
  13. Not so. If we perfect cloning we could un-extinct any non-human organism, as we could take a sample of the DNA from the organism before it dies out, implant it into an egg then use a similar species as the surrogate mother. Easy. Doing it before it dies out isn't "un-extinction." It's cloning an endangered species. And we've already done that. But as I said, there is an extremely high failure rate for the transplantation and any species that can afford to wait on that can probably recover naturally. Look at the buffalo. You can't do it with a similar species either. Human and apes as I'm sure you've heard share 99% of their DNA. But can't reproduce with each other. While you skip the incompatibility somewhat by preparing the fertilized egg beforehand, there are all kinds of problems you could run into during gestation. That just adds another factor for failure. It's difficult, I know. I was kinda joking about the 'easy' part, it clearly isn't. But, all I'm saying is that it would make animal conservation easier if we manage to lower the failure rate, it's not a fundamentally useless scientific curiosity.

I think clue scrolls are really great, but I wish that harder trails should make more expensive rewards more likely and cheaper rewards less likely. Running around, doing a puzzle box, navigating the elf forest, killing a saradomin wizard twice, going into the deep wilderness twice and generally trying very hard not to die should have at least guaranteed 100K of rewards. Level 2's and 1's are not worth the time, in my opinion, and I will drop them.
  15. I'm 16, and not really, they treat me (most of the time) like an average teenager. I drink socially, but I don't go out often at night and I have never smoked or taken drugs. I can't help anyone else because parents, situations and solutions will vary wildly.
  16. I'm not one for fashion, I just wear what's comfortable and only make sure that it looks reasonably ok in public. Jeans are a good bet, but don't waste your money on anything unnecessarily expensive, it isn't worth it.

  18. A nice thing about capitalism is that the government is forced to compete with independent schools. Luckily for us, they do not have absolute control because there is always going to be the better option if the government is unwilling to invest in rational education. I realise that this is not the best possible situation, but it's a convenient little mechanism which draws power away from the government the more they try to take it.
  19. It's another Paul Potts, she's really good. Britain's Got Talent is not going to disappoint this year.
  20. Good education not really about telling people what to think (although I am aware that this still happens, for example, Climate Change ), that's a very poor way of doing it and is the equivalent of political manipulation, I agree. No, I'm talking about the education that teaches people to make their own minds up in an informed and rational manner, which is far more difficult to teach but infinitely more useful. Irrationality is the real problem with democracy, but it is certainly possible to stamp a lot of it out. From my observations, nearly everyone who goes through the education system finishes far from their maximum potential, they are certainly not lost causes. Let's get reasonably close to this potential before deciding that it's not going to work. Anyway, deciding what is best for us is always going to be an open question in any political structure. Nobody knows in absolute certainty what is best for us, and no amount of power, propaganda and covering up of mistakes will deny that.
  21. This is going to happen in the future, don't worry. :)
  22. That's not so much an argument against democracy, it's more of an argument for focusing more on educating people. After all, if people actually knew what was actually best for them, and would vote accordingly, the democratic system would be better and more appropriate.
  23. Drop it, Diango has plenty of spare carrots if for some weird reason you need it again. It's not like it's something that's worth wasting a bankspace for, anyway.

Never open a casket in the Wilderness, it's a really bad idea. Just don't.
  25. Sorry, but that would destroy the game. Credit card companies have threatened to stop dealing with Jagex, and will do it again. It's better to have Runescape with trade restrictions than no Runescape at all.
