  1. I'm very interested in the sentence about Syzygy, and the ritual. There is going to be some kind of planetary alignment, possibly an eclipse, and a ritual will occur. Keep your eyes jammed to your telescopes, I think this might be the plot for the quest that was supposed to be the 150th.
  2. Wow, that's amazing. Jagex really out did themselves this time with the cabbages. All Hail Brassica Prime! I'm going to head over to Oo'glog, and see if anyone's doing it still.
  3. There's probably some guy out there who now loves all random events because he was saved by one whilst being PK'd. :) I'm afraid it's necessary, and you have to admit, they are now far better than what they were before.
  4. In our three dimensional world, the OP is right. One dimension implies another which in turn implies yet another, but does not imply any more. So, in our view of the world, governed by the law of 3-dimensions, a purely 1-dimensional object can't exist. However, when we try to imagine worlds of higher or lower dimensions, visualising is very difficult because we're trying to invent new dimensional systems that we don't live in and have never experienced. However, if we do manage it, an actual 1-D line could exist in a perspective where our apparently necessary three dimensions (from our 3-D point of view) are actually no longer necessary, because we have thrown away our own world view. The dimensions exist insofar as we perceive them. If we perceive them differently, the dimensions are also different. They're not so solid and absolute as we often make them out to be.
  5. No sign of a virus here, and I am pretty sure that all my security is up to date. To be fair, if anybody has the worm, they're not going to be typing about it here, are they?
  6. Haha, that was a nicely placed Rick Roll. By the way, can I please keep my ranking? Pleeeeeese?

I kinda thought that as well. The familiars just aren't as fearsome as they're made out to be.
  8. The scroll bar is more of a decoration than anything, but it would be nice if it only showed items which are traded frequently. I'd really like to be able to make a custom graph of multiple items I want to follow the price of, which I can check quickly. Throw in a logarithmic scale so it's easy to use with items of contrasting value and then I'll be happy. Come to think about it, that's probably something we could do with the Microhelper... :-k
  9. Quick Question: What would the special attack bar look like in stretchy-/full-screen? Should we rearrange the minimap to look similar to the small-screen version, or should we move it slightly to the left and squeeze in the bar to the right of the minimap? As a reference, this is what it looks like currently, for those who don't have high-detail:
  10. Yeah, I've noticed that too, but it isn't restricted to random event headgear. One example is the Davy Kebbit Hat ( ). Also, some hats still make you completely bald until you get it changed at Falador, like the Clown Hat.

I don't approve of Bandits, AFKing there obviously wasn't Jagex's intention, since they state it's against the Rules. If I were Jagex I would have put the occasional bandit in there that was level 125 (Bandit Champion?), which spawns occasionally instead of the normal bandits. That would keep players on their toes.
  12. I just tried it, and it is a very poor minigame. It's very frustrating, and the controls are counter-intuitive. Getting an omni-staff is going to be a real pain. EDIT: The biggest flaw in the game is that there is no process of mid-game re-introduction which would balance the teams if players quit during the game, like what you get in Castlewars or Soul Wars. Often people quit the game because of this, so once someone quits it's a vicious circle.
  13. Wow, these are really good suggestions, I support all of them. #3 should only appear if you have a weapon with a special attack in your inventory or equipped, because I can see the green bar being annoying when you don't need it/are f2p. Another good addition would be some kind of effect (I'm thinking an electric bolt animation) if the special attack becomes available on the weapon you're equipping. It would only be a brief animation, but it would let you know when it's just recharged enough to let another special loose.
  14. Blame Jagex for that, but it does make sense. The High Detail update has made the game feel completely different, in a good way. I remember selecting the 'High Detail' option for the first time, and my dad comes in and says 'What game are you playing now?'.
  15. That sounds fun, I might get round to trying that one if I manage to get into University. I did a bit of research, and I think you're referring to this. It doesn't seem to be too difficult, actually. You'd also end up with a fair amount of Chlorine gas, which you could then use in further reactions. This is one of the reasons why I want to study Chemistry at Uni. That one is actually really easy. You just need equal volumes of a weak acid, a weak alkali and a little bit of Universal Indicator. Mix a small amount of UI in both. Put the alkali in the bottom of the cylinder, and really slowly and carefully use a pipette to add the acid to the surface of the alkali, keeping the cylinder perfectly still, until it's all in. If you've done it right, you'll get diffusion, and over time you'll end up with that.
  16. The adze needs a special ability to make it a viable choice alongside the dragon pick, and I think the chance of smelting a an ore straight into a bar without the need of coal (and you get smithing xp for it :) ) would be a nice way to save a bit of money on the coal front if you were planning to smelt them anyway. However, if you want just the ores, or want to mine coal, the dragon pick would be better. The whole 'multi-tool' aspect has already been dominated by the morphic tool. The adze doesn't even compare.
  17. Francium is so ridiculously rare, reactive and radioactive that we can barely weigh it, let alone observe it's reactions. The best you're going to get out of the Alkali metals is Caesium, which is still capable of impressive explosions when reacting with water and other substances. Here's something to think about. We are close to completely filling period 7 for the Periodic Table, of which Francium is a member. If we ever manage to discover an element in period 8, the most likely one we will find first is the element after Francium in the Alkali metal group. It currently holds the systematic name Ununennium. Imagine the explosions.
  18. ^^ Great idea. I'd never get mine back, bankspace is too scarce, but I did want to get another one back when I was a newbie. I support.
  19. 1. The high-level sub forum availiable to f2p is a good idea, but nowhere else in the forums. It's bad enough. 2. Done! 3. Sure, good idea. 4. Good idea, but in order for this to be reasonably effective, you should be able to type three lines. 5. I've heard full-screen and stretchy-screen low detail is on its way. 6. I'd like to see what I'm typing, so maybe if you type any letter the little bar which tells you what you're about to say appears until you hit 'enter' or delete the text? Otherwise, good idea! 7. Maybe. I don't think there's enough prayers to make finding the one you want too difficult. It's very visual and the icons are large compared to magic. 8. That should be a graphics option. There's a lot of things that can be done with weather, and it's probably already being considered. 9. Good idea. 10. And put tip.it out of the job? Just kidding. I like this idea. If you really want some quick info, I suggest downloading the Tip.It Microhelper.
  20. Not going to happen. Good armour is going to need good Defence, by definition. I strongly agree with this, but I suspect that the 'Upgrade Year' mission statement was only thought up at or slightly before the start of the year. This might mean that the 'Upgrades', as we move through the year, are going to come in with a lower frequency but larger clumps, because it's going to take significantly more effort and time to do them. This would actually be a good strategy, they would then be able to cover all aspects of the game methodically, from the nearly insignificant to the massive.
  21. What the hell was that? The only information was the title. That's no good at all!
  22. Out-crowd and proud of it. I don't care much for in-crowd popularity at school, I've found my life is much happier if I stay away from it all.
  23. I don't believe you. There's too many lefties in the world for people to consider it abnormal. I'm a 'rightie', as one guy I know calls me, and I'm all about maths and science, and I have the creative capacity of a walnut. The 'left handedness correlates with creativity' theory might well be true, and if it is, it's got something to do with the hemispheres of the brain.
  24. I wouldn't be surprised if you get their eqt an inventory as drops ONLY when you kill your target If that's the case, then it would be a good thing. Your there to kill someone afterall, so why does it matter who you kill? But I'm thinking more along the lines of: - You can only receive full drops from your target - You receive randomly generated based on the alch value of items lost by your opponent who is not your target. I could see them implementing something like that. Why make another random drop system when you could just apply the PvP drop system to non-target kills instead? You could then ditch all of the penalties, because the Wilderness is so big that they couldn't realistically apply, and RWT is next to impossible, but you can still get full drops if you find and kill your target. This could be much better than before.
  25. I think he's doing very well, if we assume that Jagex's change of pace and direction is solely due to Mod MMG. He seems very able to interact with the players, and this has probably caused other members of Jagex to do the same; otherwise they'd look unmotivated by comparison. The updates of these last few months aren't very big, but they are meaningful and helpful. And if that's been achieved, it's a job well done. :) ...so far.
