Reuters: Journalist jailed indefinitely in US
America, land of the free*... That's strange, I'm not aware that there is a law requiring you to identify yourself to the authorities in America. He's been identified already, so why his is actually there? :? *Subject to terms and conditions.

Should pure ess and rune ess be re-combined as one?
If the essence was merged straight, surely if you took everyone into account, the winners (F2P essence miners, P2P runecrafters) would far outweigh the losers (P2P essence miners, F2P runecrafters)? For profits, mining is the job of a f2per, it has nearly no requirements and earns a low but steady income. Runecrafting is the job of a p2per, as all of the runes in demand are p2p craftable. This equilibrium is far less forced than what we have now, and I think it is the right thing to do.

7th May 2009 - Development Diary: Tools for Games
Nah, we make our own races, as in try to achieve a goal (which is usually something a bit more complex than get from A to B) before the others do it. It can include slaying a monster, getting levels (notably 99), doing a quest and so on. I'm also personally looking out for a pack of cards, emergent gameplay is awesome, and I'm glad Jagex is encouraging it without giving us a set path. This is one of Jagex's better ideas, I think.

6th May 2009 - Bounty Hunter Wilderness-only PvP
I thought that was the idea. People are supposed to die. :? The Bounty worlds seem to be more successful and well planned than the original Bounty Hunter. I wonder what's going to be the purpose of the volcano now?

Ourg Bones? Are you KIDDING?
No, they're not kidding, the Ourg bones were logical. But, it would be nice if the other GWD bosses dropped something similar.

A child of the 90's, this is what shaped my world.(few pics)
Ah! That's Fort Boyard! That was a great show, they had two midgets running around with keys and Tom Baker in the loft. Oh, and they had loads of tigers in the middle of the place. It was crazy.

Dual Monitor problems
I've just checked with the manufacturers regarding this issue, and it turns out that you can't use a card with VGA and DVI-D ports for dual screens. Curses. Since I guess I've discovered the answer now, I guess this can be locked.

If a law changes should prisoners be released?
It depends on why the law changed. Anyway, I think the prisoners would be allowed to have their sentenced reviewed, and if the law was changed because it was unjustified or whatnot, their remaining sentence would be annulled. I'm no expert on law, but I think this is how it would work.

Dual Monitor problems
I'm trying to install a dual screen setup on Windows XP, and currently have an Nvidia 6200 graphics card with a VGA and a DVI-D output, and I also have nView installed. I also have two identical LCD monitors with optional VGA or DVI-I inputs. The original monitor is plugged in VGA to VGA, and it works perfectly. The other monitor is not doing so well, I have used a DVI-D to VGA adapter and then plugged in a spare VGA-VGA cable, and it all matches up but there is no image. However, the system recognises the presence of a second monitor and it's possible to treat the blank monitor as extra space on the desktop even if you can't see what's there. I already have a load of cables and adapters with nearly every combination of VGA and DVI-I from previous computers, but this is the first time I've dealt with (or seen) a DVI-D on a graphics card, so I have no appropriate cables apart from this VGA-DVI-D adapter. I know I'm doing something wrong here, and the solution might be staring me in the face in the form of yet another cable or something. I don't want to mess up again, because this project is getting frustratingly expensive for what should be simple.

for £100k would you let your parents...
That's a cruel decision to force on someone, but I think I'd let them. £100K is a lot of money and I could do a lot with it. Heck, I could get a faster internet connection. ;) Nearly all parents already know what the average teenager does on the internet already, it won't exactly be a shock. I'm not into the, ah, exotic types of porn, so I doubt there would be too many weird looks and awkward silences after they saw what I've seen, although they would probably end up knowing far too much about me to be comfortable during conversation, but £100K is still worth it.# Actually, to be honest I probably see quite a bit porn less than the average teenager, so I don't think it would be too bad. I haven't even got myself round to looking at the video consisting of twice the number of girls compared to the number of cups, if you know what I mean...

Help for quests. Should you use them?
I personally use QuestHelp if I'm really stuck, and then tip.it if that doesn't help me. Otherwise I try my best to not use a guide, it ruins the experience. However, there's one exception. When I get round to it, I have vowed never to use a guide for ME-PII, even if I get stuck.

"Heal Other"
I think you were just unlucky there. To be honest, if you're using a spell which you know will deal you a fair amount of damage, you just have accept that there are going to be risks.

Swine flu virus
Actually, it's your immune system overreacting that usually kills you if you get swine flu. So you're worse off if you do get it in the first place. ;) Well of course I'm worse off if I get than if I don't get it. I'm not trying to get it. I'm just not feverishly trying not to. I meant you're worse off if you get it and had a stronger immune system, then if you get it and had a weaker one. It overreacts if it's ready for viruses in general, but not the Swine Flu virus in particular, and will make Swine Flu more likely to kill you. I get why you aren't too bothered in extra hygiene precautions, but I was just saying that the 'my immune system is in better shape and I won't be as badly hit if I do catch it' justification wasn't valid. :) Eh, I'm still not worried. Fair enough, neither am I. My school is preparing for closure if the Government locks down schools, which is unlikely but possible, and my AS exams might be postponed. \

Exorcism/Exorcists
This kind of thing happened in my culture too, but it stopped hundreds of years ago as people were educated. So there is no relevant cultural difference to speak about, it's poor education.

MerchScamming Clans
I think the problem is that the GE is too efficient. It's possible to control the trading across every world from a single spot, when before you could only control the trading within your minimap area in your world. Wait. That's it. We need more than one GE.

More worlds?
There's no need for more worlds, there are so many out there already that the difference made by adding a few more would be next to negligible. A better way to do it would be to add new activities that you can viably do for a long time to the game, that way the population would be more spread out in every world.

Exorcism/Exorcists
Admittedly, a lot of murderers who intentionally kill someone else believe that they were doing a good thing. Otherwise they wouldn't kill them. I just wish that people could be better educated in the world. There is no such thing as a curse/demon, and there isn't any logic or reason about why passing water via people's hands then forcing it into her mouth would solve the problem even if it did exist. What were these people thinking?

The BNP - Nazis or just misunderstood?
Ah right, I get your point. We're not a single culture, I agree. We just have a 'family resemblance' (cookie if you know the quote), but there's no single thing common with all of us that's exclusive to Britain. Still, the Welsh, Scottish, Irish and English cultures are worth preserving, even if the term 'British culture' is a bit misleading. Even separate counties have their own mini-cultures that are worth preserving, what's normal for Norfolk is sometimes far from normal anywhere else.

Iphone app. I got that, but what specifically do you do in the app? I'm thinking about getting an iPhone, so I'm interested.

The BNP - Nazis or just misunderstood?
If you go to somewhere like America or Canada for at least a week, you'll realise how British culture has shaped you; and it's not just the language. Generally you don't notice it in your home country.

The BNP - Nazis or just misunderstood?
Asylum seekers are fine with me as long as they are actually contributing as a citizen in England. I just don't think it's fair that people should sponging off of the government without any effort to look for work, that's all I'm trying to say. I completely agree with the BNP when they ask for deportation of the criminal or illegal immigrants. Our prisons are overcroweded enough as it is, without them being filled to the brim with immigrants who just come over and cause trouble. Summery - If you are an immigrant/asylum seeker and coming to England looking for work and a better life, fair play. But if you come here looking to sponge off of the government without any contribution or to complain or become a criminal then just leave. I agree that deportation where possible and appropriate is the right course of action. But it's not only immigrants that leech off the government system anyway, there's plenty of British born-and-bred citizens who also live off benefits when they could perfectly well do a job, and that's the priority that needs fixing. On another note, I reckon we should leave the EU, but it's not because we want to isolate ourselves. It's because we don't want to lose money with no equivalent return and we want to govern ourselves. That is a perfectly reasonable request for a country that is not unstable. It was a trade agreement, that that is all it should be. Finally, British culture is worth preserving, but we should be tolerant of other cultures as long as they are faced with the same level of restriction as everyone else. For example, a Christian should be allowed to wear a crucifix at work if a different person is allowed to wear a turban at work in the same place. It should be about equality, everyone should treat everyone else how they want to be treated themselves. Affirmative action should be equivalent to racism in law and should be dealt with accordingly. I could go on. I reckon there is a way of being somewhat nationalist without collapsing into racism, it's just that the BNP goes over the top and does it the wrong way.
