Er, congrats? I've never been in a proper earthquake, but that's because I live in England. Not enough decent fault lines. :(
  2. This is on my list of films to see. Hopefully it's as good as the book.
  3. It's the back that ruins it. It would have been perfectly fine if it was just plain black there. Fact is, there exists an unwritten rule about which games are acceptable socially or not, or more specifically which games to advertise in public are acceptable or not. A small portion of young people are very stupid because they impose this rule, and they ruin it for the rest of us who want to do what we want. I'd say 'screw you' and punch them in the face, but it almost never works out.
  4. Making these could be a good job for crafters. I really like the original idea, as well. Good job.
  5. I'm not sure this is a good idea. Gases have a habit of diffusing to their surroundings. In any case, this must never be an excuse to slow down the development of cleaner energy generation.
  6. Wow, the graphics look great! I'm glad to see they're really serious now about Development Diaries.
  7. One of my points were, that not only is it hard for me to find a suitable level to fight (Normally only those equivalent to my level or higher are willing to fight) because of my high level in f2p, but when I do find someone my level, they tend to be complete morons not capable of having a fight. Its not p2p where every tom [bleep] & harry has a level 120+, so its a little harder you see. And I'm not one to complain, instead I just stay away from PvP worlds now as they have little use to me in my current situation. I understand that its very lucrative for others though, and that's just dandy. This isn't the duel arena. You don't have to agree to fights, just attack them.

Why the hell would he want to keep in the good books of work parasites? They deserve everything that comes back at them when school is over. Socially, it doesn't matter. You're better off if people see you as a '[bleep]' in school then watch in envy as you succeed in later life.
  9. True, and I expect that Jagex would try to make sure their virtual world rules agree with stance of UK laws. If something was legalised in the UK, I expect the rules to follow suit, unless Jagex has some 'company philosophy' or something.
  10. 'fraid not. It's called nomenclature, and the only words you get are the ones that aren't composed out of other already mentioned words. You can get away with the digits, a few multiples (hundred, thousand, million etc.) and exceptions (ten, eleven, twelve), but that's about it. It's the same with all of the other scientific nomenclature, as well.
  11. ...that isn't entertaining at all. It isn't even ironic. :?

It's not too bad, but I agree that the site should get a new theme, if not reverted back to the original. Actually, it would be nice if they just saved them and allowed us to choose which one we want to see, like tip.it.
  13. It's called balancing. Everything that has an advantage must have a disadvantage. I think it's a reasonable trade-off, anyway. The increase in productivity in using the pouches far outweigh the decrease in productivity in making the effort to repair them. And about PKers, how are they meant to know you aren't carrying something valuable?
  14. This is always going to be the case. Every generation would look at the next generation's language and consider it as 'damaging'. What we have here is just another example of language evolution, and 'noob' may or may not be here to stay. I hope not, it's a very crude word, but there's nothing any single person can do about it. You're probably right, but I'm sure you'd agree that an evolution into text speak would reduce the wealth of vocabularly, which would handicap the language genuinely. I suppose it's partly just irrational lingiustic conservatism though; good point. You're right too, though, 'text speak' actually limits the linguistic capabilities and elegance of English to favour information efficiency and speed, and it's not right for whoever decides these things to agree to allow it to enter the actual English Dictionary. It's shorthand for the 21st century, maybe it should be consolidated into some other separate but official dictionary, but that doesn't entitle it to a position where it could be used as an equal to other non-shorthand terms. In short, keep shorthand with shorthand, and keep true grammar with true grammer. To hybridise would damage the function of both.
  15. Parents can be stubborn and overprotective (and they have every right to be so), but this is worth a try. If she still won't allow you to drive whilst she is your legal guardian, you're just going to have to live with it. You can own a vehicle, but driving at an age lower than 18 is a privilege, not a right. After all, a significant proportion of accidents occur to drivers under 18, and I'm afraid every parent is going to generalise to protect.

I never realised that people actually gave scientific definitions to biscuits and cakes. Good job, though, it makes sense. A Jaffa Cake is a cake that is used as a biscuit, like a tomato is a fruit that is used as a vegetable. But it's still a fruit. In my opinion, it is indeed a cake. Exactly. I would have thought that the name would have been a dead giveaway, in any case.

  19. Anything other than Net Neutrality being upheld would be commercially unfavourable, it won't break down until people are willing to lose their freedoms, which won't happen. Why haven't people realised this? -.-
  20. Magekillr, can you please stop using the term 'Bigot' when referencing to anybody who disagrees with your views? Whether they are right or wrong, insulting language does not help any argument. It's better to say why they are wrong than to merely insult them and conclude therefore that they should be ignored, otherwise others will make the same argument against you.

Fail. You could have at least have hidden the URL in the link. H1Z1, lol. At the moment, my school is now putting up posters about how to catch and bin sneezes and stuff. I assume that all schools are being told to do the same thing. Still, Swine Flu seems to be on the lower end of the deadliness scale amongst pandemics. It's not too bad, it might kill off a few people who were at the wrong place at the wrong time, but that's it.
  22. I think you're right, the only difference between fmods and pmods will be that they 'patrol' different sections of the game, although their powers will now be transferable. It's good to see that they're updating the offence system, although lets hope that people won't get the impression that they're relaxing the rules a bit. The reaction here is going to be different than the reaction in the RSOF.
  23. i still wanna race sailboats. ;) I want to race and fight pirates in sailboats at the same time. ;) Regardless whether that was a joke or not, this is actually one of the biggest games Jagex is making for Funorb. What, really? Cool. Here's my wishlist for this update: Dice with variable numbers of sides. Pack of cards, and the ability to arrange them on a table. Come to think of it, the Burthorpe games rooms would be perfect for this. Stopwatch with variable conditions for stopping, including XP, location, slaying a monster, obtaining an item, a combination etc. Coin toss, using an actual gp. Some kind of chip system using coins, with variable rules, within the trade limit. A vote tally with variable rules. A system of remembering set rules, and a way to transfer them to other players.
  24. I'll agree with you on some reality TV, Big Brother needs to be publicly and brutally executed, but I think there's some value in some talent shows. Britain's got Talent helps talented yet shy people come into the limelight and realise what they can do, and in this I believe it is a legitimate public service. How else do you think people like Susan Boyle and Paul Potts would start their careers?
