Tip.it Times Presents: A Time of War
I like the concept, and your general point. In a vacuum, you are absolutely right; what's good for the demand side is indirectly good for suppliers. Unfortunately, in practice the interdependency really isn't there anymore. [*:cui59r73]Summoning has drastically reduced the reliance of monster hunters upon skillers. Creatures like the bunyip and unicorn have cut into the call for food, and titans have made trips go by more quickly. [*:cui59r73]Items like the black mask / slayer helm / salve amulet (e) / godswords / armor have reduced the appeal of potions. Permanent increases to stats and overall bonuses have made the incentive less appetizing or necessary to kill the same baddies.[*:cui59r73]The Grand Exchange destroyed price on potions, because so many herblorists found trading pots too tedious. Given the opportunity to dump potions, they did - and did for a huge pricedown. Super attack, strength, defense, agility potions, super energies... they have not recovered. All of these skills are now cost-out to perform.[*:cui59r73]Skillcapes created such an alluring incentive that many non-skill based players chose to powerlevel skills to collect Level 99's. Whereas previously only a skill based player could be bothered to fletch to make money, the fast experience lured many combateers in with the promise of a huge prayer bonus on their cape if they got 99 Fletching, creating a glut on the market and skyrocketing the demand/price on yew logs. I feel the need to add that Summoning's mechanics have made Runescape slightly more combat oriented. Of course, there are some good rewards for skillers, but the charms, and many of the seconds, require you to kill monsters.

Tip.it Times Presents: A Time of War
As someone said, the Capes caused this. Due to the nature of Runescape, you're going to be making hundreds of thousands of high level items to get to 99. Since most items produced are not consumed nor do they decay, we have a huge glut of products in the market. Even items that are consumed, potions, ranging ammunition, food, and runes, are so numerous that players can't even begin to use them all. Plus, some monsters drop these items as well. Also, many high end items are exclusively monster drops. Not just armor or weapons, but some skilling items, the most prominent being the dragon axe. Plus, with the inclusion of Summoning, a skill that REQUIRES you to fight monsters, this game is looking more and more combat oriented. And, if it continues down this path, the game will be ruined. Why? Well, in terms of combat, Runescape can not compare to WoW or WAR. Sure, the two require better computers, and are almost three times the cost, but they offer a lot less grinding and the combat aspect is a greater challenge.

Jagex is Going to Kill Bounty Hunter.
On a more serious note, many of you will be aware of our efforts to stop real-world trading and how some of our recent updates have been part of that. You may have questions about it: What does it mean? How does it affect the game? How big a problem is it? What are the ways of dealing with it? To answer these questions and more, we'll be releasing a very important Development Diary on the subject Anyone else remember this?

Behind The Scenes - October Edition
Now for my take on the BTS. First off, neither of these updates particularly interest me. I'm no PK'er so check off the PvP worlds. The holiday events have, lately, seemed lackluster. Take, for example, the April 08 one. It was, in effect, an advertisement for Summoning. Anyone remember the infamous Reindeer antlers? I like holiday event items- just not when they look so ridiculous I never wear them. Even items that look good don't often mesh well with any existing set-up. The new update form, quite frankly, does not look good. Sure, big updates are good. But all too often they're hit or miss or focused only on one section of the game's player base. Plus, I'm worried about burnout- can Jagex's team keep up with large updates every month? Not just the programming, but also good ideas? OR, finding that they CAN'T meet their new update schedule, maybe they'll just start producing slightly-larger-than-average updates and calling them big. And one final note. I don't like how they've started showing more of their future updates in the bottom. Last time it was one update. This time, two.

Consistency in combat
Well, you asked for it... In WoW, you can still miss, they can dodge, parry, and block. True, block only mitigates the damage, but the other three ensure you hit zeros. Plus, armor reduces damage dealt by a percentage that you, the player, can see.

Behind The Scenes - October Edition
I'm sorry to get a little off topic, but can titan scrolls be attached to the types of enchanted helms? I know that Jagex's definition of a "combat familiar" is a little sketchy at best... Because, well, if they could...Attach scrolls to your helm beforehand and don't summon your familiar. Then, go out a-hunting for some tantalizing prey, summon your monster, and start hacking away at the unfortunate target while your summon randomly beats the crap out of your opponent via scrolls. ^^ But the helm changes color when charged, so they'll have SOME warning. That's the reason my helm of neitiznot is always charmed- the glowy look is awesome.

Zemouregal and the Staff of Armadly + Mahjaratt Speculation
Or some big birthday party from 1 of the mahjaratt? Why does it always have to be this "easy" to what happens: the majharatt aren't really known for their loyality: each have their own agenda they want to fullfill! - It doesn't seem very likely they would summon somebody to lead them! (just like zemouregal doesn't want to work together with lucien..) Yeah but the mahjaratt basically ruled runescape. Then Zaros was overthrown and one by one they were killed or imprisoned or driven into hiding. They are clearly vengeful and power hungry and the most logical way to regain thier power would be to resurrect Zaros as in the absence of Armaydal no-ong (seemingly) is powerful enough to defeat him. So under his leadership they would have free reign once again For the second time, Zaros is the Empty Lord. Also, a few of the Mahjarrat heading north do not serve Zamorak. Akthanakos for one. Akthanakos, Azzanadra, and Sliske are the known Mahjarrat who remained loyal to Zaros. As you said, they have differing loyalties. So this leads me to two different theories. One, they're going to form sides and fight for the supremacy of their leader, though this strikes me as overly simple. Or two, they're putting they're differences aside to conquer Runescape. As it has been said, they used to rule Runescape. Maybe they wish to do so again, only minus Zaros or Zamorak. Zemouregal also said something about Lucien wanting to take charge. Of course, not all of them strike me as evil. The camel one, Athanakos right?, seemed to be grateful for the aid you give him during Anakhras lament.

Zemouregal and the Staff of Armadly + Mahjaratt Speculation
Regardless of who he is, Zemouregal makes me think of Skeletor. I hope in the next quest with him, we get to wield Armadyl's staff and shout "I have the POWER!" turning into an almost obscenely ripped warrior who would than proceed to beat him until he cries skeleton tears.

Trade Limits Raised
Of course, no one CAN trade 60 k until the next quest is released...

Next skill that's officially been killed - Prayer
Dead? I'll believe it when I'm attending Prayer's funeral and the Saradomin priest prays... er... beseeches the gods for the protection of Prayer's soul.

Defender Of Varrock - 29th September 2008
I give this quest a 6.2 out of 10. It was almost embarrassingly short, your character played not but a supporting role, the rewards were all exp based, and there was little new information shared. I expected, due to the fact that this was an organized attack on the oldest established city of Runescape, that this quest would be a little longer and a bit more epic. Alas!, I was disappointed. The requirements, the copious amount of quests and vast range of skills, reinforced my expectation. In short, though the quest would be good, due to the content contained within I feel it fell a bit short.

Gold Famer's Return?
Thank you! For anyone who says its easy to transfer, your just as good as the RWT we tried to abolish. We get RWT out and we [bleep] and moan about the rules, and yet the real players CONTINUE TO CONTRIBUTE AND BREAK THE GOD DAMN RULES! Redundant? I think so. So, heres your solution, the next person who says "I know a way to transfer" I expect a full typed paragraph about how you do it, how effective it is, and a screenshot of a bug report. If you dont, Ill gladly report you and submit a bug report myself. Unfortunately, I do not believe that that would be a bug. And, furthermore, I believe that the thing your describing could not be posted on Tip.It's forum due to its nature.

Defender Of Varrock - 29th September 2008
Plus they drop natures, cosmics, bloods, herbs, noted pure ess, and noted oak planks. To me, this sounds like some sweet loot for monsters so easily killed and readily available.

Be ashemed
There is still a small army of Brits fighting to keep faith in our language. Oh, do you accept foreign, but thorougly Anglophile troopers? I daren't go as far as calling myself elite, but I am in possession of a degree :. Here, here! The continued degradation of the English language, though it is no longer spoken exclusively by the English, must not continue! Sign me up!

ghosts
What annoys me is that they attack people in the Wilderness Agility Course. I never knew of ANY PK'er who would do the same. Plus, they can do the obstacles. Though I can beat them, they're a drain on my resources. And at that depth of Wilderness, the Knights and Dragons can attack...

Worst Slayer Tasks
Metal dragons. I simply don't have the combat levels to deal with them efficiently. For most other tasks I can find a alternative to the powerhouses.

Circus Info
Tried the method of doing all 99s with emotes in between. Here's my results: Magic, lvl 66, failed four times, final score of 864 Ranged, lvl 53, failed three times, final score of 1048 Agility, lvl 59, failed zero times, final score of 1480

Consistency in combat
But that's totally irrelevant- what he's talking about is a lack of consistency. Since we have no range in which we hit, you could just as easily get string of ten max hits or ten 0s. If we count zeroes as misses, this would still give your character a chance of hitting ten ones. Looking at most other games, we can see that a system in which you have a max and a min hit works just dandy. Of course, Jagex could tweak the system to allow your character to hit his median damage the most often...

The Truth: Now "Nerdy"...
Being a nerd is great! You can use proper grammar, words that are more than three syllables, and you get a free pocket protector upon joining the NPS (Nerd Protection Syndicate)!

Black list of bad words
Is the second part a joke? If not, suddenly I'm scared.

Defender of Varrock - New Quest Released Today!
Anyone remember the necromancer by Port Sarim? Maybe, after this quest, he might reveal something more about necromancy. Maybe we might even get some new necromatic summons! Skeletal Dragon, anyone?

They didn't stop at miniclip...
No leet-speak or Caps On Each Word or misppeelings FTW Totally agreed. People get mad at me when I tell them stop talking ly1 1h$. High-Five! Joined when I was 11 in late December of 2005. Now I'm 14. I'm glad you like literacy, because that will be sure in heck useful in high school. I kid you not, in the IB program, i read (we do peer to peer editing) a paper that was written in internet speech. I hoped he changed it, because meh teacher would've been so mad. (it was actually a pretty good essay too  ). So yah, don't fall for the tempation. Your awesome, man. I'm in Gifted, which is like IB, but with more freedom. Literacy is one of my strong skills, and every kid in my class freaks out when I type. xD. Well, my Civics, Science, Math and Reading classes... and homeroom. Gifted classes=same people for every class. But hey, at least people can understand me and not understand d0z3 ppl wh0 tlk l1k d1s. Leetspeak is annoying, but not as much as bad grammar and spelling. Given I can barely understand it even if I try, I can safely ignore it. But when people type like Trolls, as in monsters not posters, I can barely stop myself from giving a scathing lecture as to why good grammar and spelling is important. Example: "Wat dat ting? Can I by id from you? Pleaze?"

RuneScape Cash shop
I thought half of the point of those items was a token to say 'This is proof that I was there'? Sure, it's not an advantage, but those items would suddenly lose what makes them, them. Aye. The only way that would work was if the items sold were a different color or had a slightly different appearance than the originals.

Tip.It Times Presents: A Lack of Clarity, and Nerfing
Wait: so we have to prove our innocence these days? Seems like the world is upside down! YOU ARE ALWAYS UNGUILTY FOR ANYTHING UNTILL PROVEN OTHERWISE! This is one of the most basic rules to a clean goverment: it prevents power abusal! What he says is that Jagex had prove that you did something wrong... So tbh there is no reason we should believe banned people saying that they didn't do anything... I don't say that every single ban is fair, but we have no reason to trust those who have been banned... But what reason do we have to believe Jagex? Their track record isn't all that clean... They don't usually lie outright, but they're a HUGE fan of weasel words. Remember the exciting new PKing games? Or, more recently, the quest that was supposed to completely revolutionize Firemaking? I also remember them banning some guy for his name, despite him having played for 3 years. The name in question would take a dirty and/or juvenile mind to see it as offensive.
