  1. As Omali said, this will begin the new holiday structure. But since members can always do the quest, will this mean the end of holiday items you can only get if you were there?
  2. The corrupt weapons, quite frankly, suck. No special and one half hour of use. Well, at least no special with the Dagger. So maybe Nonmembers could get some sort of non degradable PvP dropped item at like lvl 50. It could still be called corrupt dragon, but it would not degrade but would have weaker stats, and maybe a spec. But the spec would have to be weakened too. If Jagex did this, they should also add something like "Frail Magic Bow" and "Failed Mystic Robes." Weaker stats, non-degradable, and PvP dropped. Plus, you could throw in a few "high-level" spells. Say enhanced versions of current spells with higher rune costs.
  3. Note the short amount of time. Even successful pkers need to bank and resupply... RWTers do not. True. But we have no idea how "short" this time is. Is it a few minutes? Half an hour? Maybe it resets daily? Who knows?
  4. The part about successful PKers getting reduced loot... well, it may prevent some RWT, but won't it punish the skilled?
  5. Quite simply, it is used to throw people off. When the person they attacked sends them running, tail between the legs, the defender will probably be either A. really upset that a self-proclaimed PKer ran from a fight or B. laughing so hard that they suffer heart injury. Either way, they won't be on the top of their game, so the Pure's friend or friends can attack and claim a victory from the distracted player.

What's helpful is that on WoW and I believe WAR, communication between the sides cannot happen. So no insults except in duels!
  7. no spec attack? well they suck even more now... has anyone even gotten any of them yet? it seems like jagex didnt even add them into the game I don't think it is that hard to pick something about the update that you like, but every new thread I see you post on all you do is complain about jagex's updates. There is a forum on tip.it called rants for a reason. The reason Jagex did this is just to give F2P a taste of what dragon weapons do so they might in turn want to subscribe for the full benefit of playing runescape. They give F2P a nibble so they want more. Where do you get more? P2P Yes, but the taste is nasty. Weapons that last half an hour after the first fight with no special? How many F2Ps will really use these? I mean, the Rune Scimmy is 25k now and lasts indefinitely.
  8. Plus, those they have wouldn't be so bitter or less likely to take their guff. Indeed, they used Summoning to try to entice players to stay and look at how THAT turned out.
  9. Since they didn't get anything other than melee weapons, than yes. Why not also give them rotted Red D'hide and decaying mystic robes? Anyhoo, the weapons don't have specs and only last half an hour, so they aren't all that good.
  10. RWT didn't end. I don't know why Jagex thinks it did. It's ridiculously easy to trade money through BH, or through the grand exchange. The value of items, for the most part, can not be determined by a central entity. That is, Jagex can say the price of item X is whatever the hell they want in the Grand Exchange, but if the item is to be produced by players and traded between players, they will do so at a price that both parties find acceptable. If Jagex makes this impossible, either A) Players will find a way to "go-around" the system, AKA junk trading, GE transferring, BH transferring, or B) Players will not complete the trade. Because these methods exist, RWT exists. I know of friends who give you each other stuff using these methods. I have an associate who I believe purchased membership from a such RWTer. There are full RWT organizations still going strong, and autoers have been seen here and there, although maybe not in the numbers from before. But surely the numbers are the problem? Not the few who could still do so, which wasn't many. Trading via BH is easy, however only really at higher combats. RWT via the G/E, imo is non-existant, not in any great depth. Maybe a few people could manipulate prices here and there, but nothing serious. What I was talking about, is mass RWT and people putting money from player-to-player through the new PvP, which is incredibly easy, I assure you. The simplicity of trading via the new PvP will invite many people to do so, and we'll once again face high numbers. Actually, RWT through the GE is considered to happen more frequently than BH transfers. I remember hearing of a method using Red Topaz Machetes once.
  11. All of what you wrote sounds fair except for this. This appears to punish skilled PKers- the best of the best will constantly receive poor drops unless they throw matches. Is that fair?
  12. 1. This is true. But have you heard of Banks? Like in obscure places such as Priffindas and Miscellania (or is it Eceteria?)? 2. Not really. They could have a customer pay a flat rate for x amount of time to kill them. 3. This is also true. Indeed, one might say that the new staff, and equipment suck. Who in there right minds will pay millions to wear and wield items that last for a maximum of one hour and may or may not be used in non PvP worlds?
  13. Ahem. Fishing's origins really aren't important- Runecrafting's are. It could make quite a quest if ever they are revealed. Plus, the Fishing guild is a lot older. Look at other guilds of similar age- most of them are quite useless, though that is not really an excuse.
  14. http://news.runescape.com/newsitem.ws?id=1442 Well, there's your answer! Psst. Psst. I'm gonna let you in on a secret: that does not necessarily work. There have been multiple reports of players killing one iteming ddsers and getting high level drops. One had a pic with a DFS as a drop. This may not be true, but it might.
  15. No? Zaros has been totally forgotten, there were weeks after weeks where Jagex did updates about him/mentioning him, then they just stopped. I remember that! There was this really inconsequential quest released. Can't remember its name, but the rewards were lousy- like 600 exp for all combat skills. The quest hinted at a definite sequel, but alas!, that quest has fallen into Jagex's "Drawer of Really Cool Ideas That Would Probably be Obsolete Upon Release Now" along Priffindas and the Dragon Platebody.
  16. If they do that, they'll cheese off a LOT of players. And is it just me, or is Jagex relying more and more on suspense and teasers? Like how they have TWO upcoming updates in the BTS this month instead of one? Or the way they announced the biggest quest and PvP worlds months before either was due to be released?
  17. And with the rapidly increasing power of computers, those games are becoming increasingly easy to use. Though the cost is generally two and a half times of that of Runescape, most hardcore gamers will be willing to shell out the cost difference. Heck, plenty of casual gamers are too.
  18. I got my glasses in the first grade, a grand six years before I played Runescape. My optometrist tells me my eyes will steadily worsen until I'm in my thirties. And guess what? I can barely make out facial features and expressions from five feet away as it is...
  19. So your friend reported the Hacker? The one who was on your friend's account at the time? Give Jagex's customer service, your friend will NEVER get that account back.
  20. Aside from the flaming, this should not be here because A. It belongs in the Rants forum and B. An identical topic has been made before
  21. There was quite a long period when Jagex could have released Blood Rune crafting and everybody would have gone crazy about it, but they left it too late, released too many ways to generate blood runes by alternative methods, and they're too cheap. With soul runes, it was too late a long time ago, they have no 'real' purpose as most other runes do. Aye, the only real use I've found for souls are quests. That's the only time they're useful in any form or fashion. And by quests I mean not to fight with but to give them to an NPC so you can continue the quest.
  22. What I want are Runescape specific holidays, like in WoW. Stuff like the Varrock Founder's Day or Magus Discoverus (a day marking the discovery of magic).
  23. I feel the need to add that Summoning's mechanics have made Runescape slightly more combat oriented. Of course, there are some good rewards for skillers, but the charms, and many of the seconds, require you to kill monsters. They do indeed, but then there are skills like Magic that require you to skill to train it. (crafting runes) Thanks.. Lord Shalaj Not necessarily. You could BUY your runes, and many do just that. Plus, Magic is both a skilling and a combat skill. It sits on the fence and, at least in my opinion, is weaker for it.
  24. I didn't, though. It wasn't because of the event itself, but the portrayal of Death. He had no dignity- he killed his former servant by accident.
