Impressiveness of the Kill
You mean ranking like in FOG? Cause I don't think a ranking system would be a good idea...

The New Shields
I think the Divine shield is best overall. If you do the math you will find that it blocks more damage for free than the Elysian shield; Elysian blocks 15% of all damage for free, provided you have prayer, and the Divine shield blocks 25% 70% of the time which comes to 17.5% of all damage blocked. When you run out of prayer the Elysian shield stops working, period. The only con, or if you look at it another way, pro, to this is that, unless I'm mistaken, melee has only two 70+ weapons that are one handed, the Saradomin Sword and Abyssal Whip, and range has only two 60+, dragon darts and rune crossbow, that are one handed. On the other hand, every mage weapon, except Arim's Staff, if one handed.

New Tutorial?
Sir Vant: It appears I forgot to bring my gloves. Without them, my hands will be burned! Make me some leather gloves so that, when my hands get burned, at least their juices will be sealed in.

Call me insane...
Same principle, the monsters wont 2 hit us because our armor will become better overtime. Except the fact that the corporeal beast pretty much ignores armor... And what we have is tougher monsters. Not smarter. Just tougher. Bigger, stronger, with more hp and special abilities, but still capable of being soloed. This one is the first that will probably NEVER be soloed, but the tactics for this one seem pretty simple so far: Take a weapon. Take two pieces of armor. Get twenty warm bodies. Send said bodies in to be two hit until beastie eventually collapses from hp loss. Or exhaustion. I was responding to him that no, jagex won't raise HP, they will just create better armour. Just like they did now. About the armor ignoring thing: as long as it doesn't have huge KO power (haven't seen it personally) it's not a problem. It can, normally, hit up to 66. This means that it can two hit anyone. I've heard that it has a special attack that hits in the seventies, though.

Impressiveness of the Kill
I'm thinking PK worlds will work like the wilderness- after you go past a certain level, you can't teleport. And that may be where one-itemers lurk.

Impressiveness of the Kill
In their announcement about PK anywhere, Jagex stated that rewards would be based on how impressive the kills were. Now, what I'm wondering is how Jagex will go about these rewards. Look at revenants- they heal, freeze, teleblock, cast magic and use range, and can hit really, really, high. But what do you receive as your reward for killing them? Usually a few hundred coins. The really lucky might get an obsidian cape. This probably won't happen so my real concern is HOW they're going to rate a kills impressiveness. Obviously they will include combat level. But what about the cost of the armor and weapons? Again, that would be fairly easy, thanks to the GE, to factor in. But what about items in the inventory? Will those be counted? After all, it wouldn't be fair to not factor in potions and food into the kill. But will it count only items consumed? If not a RWT could just take a full inventory, or even STACKABLE, of valuable goods and continuously fight the Gold Buyer. And what about summoning? Will they track summons used? How difficult will it be for Jagex to account for all, or even most of the factors involved in this new style Pking? Factor to few and RWTs will be back in business. Account for to many and the coding will be difficult to write and time consuming and may even be bug ridden. And what if the impressiveness also goes for the winner? Say someone with full rune and a dds somehow manages to kill a guy with dragon and a whip. Will he be rewarded extra for his cruddy armor? And if this occurs what's to stop some yahoo with an AGS, praying protect item, from suiciding against far better armored players in the hope of getting a lucky kill? How would you feel if you lost your fury, full bandos, and dragon boots just because someone got a lucky hit AND was rewarded extra for one iteming? If this is a case, than this could be a golden age for one itemers, something no one wants. I'm no PKer and my desire for this to succeed stems from fiscal greed. But I would like to know how you think Jagex will handle or should handle these obstacles. What do you think will happen?

Tip.It Times Presents: The Plight of the Safe Spot
As Armadyllo said, safe spots are merely an exploitation of the poor pathfinding abilities of Runescapes monsters. But, on the other hand, range and magic tend to be more expensive and get little to no advantages over melee. They hit lower, have to be used with their own armor types or have great reductions in ability, they splash frequently, in the case of magic, and they, as mentioned before, are more expensive. They need every advantage they can scrounge up.

People's Morals
I'd be upset because a random event caused this. Jagex announced they were going to remove them, what, six months ago?

FoG...lol.
Except that people training their mage without properly playing in FoG is part of my problem... so yeah, go find someone else, I'll practice running. So you're putting effort into a effortless game? Right on man, you're cool. There is a point when people actually WANT to have fun believe it or not. Standing in the center being splashed with mana water is NOT fun. IT'S BORING. And I'd rather EARN my place on the hiscores than just have be handed over to me. Aye. If winning was all that mattered than there would BE no hard option on any game.

Is there pride in pixels?
I would say that, yes, there is pride in pixels. But, to me, not in Runescape. I'm not bashing the game itself, just the fact that there is really nothing, no semi-unique abilities or class structure, that separates me from other players except how much time I've put into the game. My character, in a few words, is not unique. And that bothers me.

Granite is going up.
"Granite prices falling like ...Granite!" But that's a bit interesting, a new and bright idea towards Jagex. I never would have figured the situation would be handled in such a way. Actually... no. No it wasn't. The sell/alch prices for granite have ALWAYS been zero. And, thanks to Jagex's RWT measures, the price of what you sell is NOT adjusted to the GE's prices but the prices you buy items at are. So, even if granite came to be worth 10k per block, if you sold it to any store you'd still get zero for it and have to pay 10k to buy it from said store. This is also vexing when I accidentally sell food when selling drops...

New Clan wars free-for-all noob fest?
There are two portals, one you lose your items the other you don't. And: A thread about someone being called a "noob"? Wow this is the first thread I've seen about this topic in a whole minute! You guys are slacking, if we need anything it's more "omg I got called a noob in a video game! RUNESCAPE PLAYERS SUCK" Um, no. He's complaining about how people are still playing as if they lose items upon death. They refuse to fight it all the way and instead run when running is absolutely pointless.

People who get mad at price manipulators
Maybe to you price manipulation isn't bad, but to me it is. Consider the people who are most hurt be this: the inexperienced and those who don't have deep wallets. The people who are most affected by these updates tend to be newer or poorer players, those who don't have much power in the market. So, when manipulators make them lose 100s of thousands of gp, though that may not seem that much to you, it is a devastating blow to them.

i summited my money 2 days ago and im still not a mem?
It exists alright, it just sucks atm. Some one said that customer support is either run by monkeys or by bots, can't remember which  Customer support is run by robotic monkeys thereby neatly encapsulating both.

To those of you withholding sympathy for insulting Jagex: Why shouldn't he insult a company when, after you pay them with a method that is RECURRING, they do not fulfill their end of the bargain AND have no customer support links?

The Jagex Store
Yeah. Too bad you can't snap a pencil case in two. You can if you take the two halves and pull them back. The hinges will break. Good luck breaking the non existant hinges of a cloth, soft pencil case.. #-o Oh... I was thinking of the hard block cases. Not the pencil bags. Didn't actually look at it, so I let my imagination run wild. Wild like a hog!

Runescape : good for you ? or bad for health ??
Lucky you... My eyes began to deteriorate in the first grade. And I've seen my optometrist; he said it will continue into my early thirties, at least. Yay for another 13 years of continually worsening vision!

blessed with a curse
I'm getting sick of them and I quite like a good economic thread- the problem is, none of them are good. All they talk about is the here in now crashes that, long term, are no more than mere dips in price.

The Jagex Store
This flashed into my mind upon reading this: A group of adolescent boys, each kitted out in various WoW clothing and paraphernalia, the leader wearing paper-mache night elf ears, approaches a smaller lad sitting at his desk with a Runescape pencil holder. The leader starts the conversation in a nasally, but passable, mobster accent. "Hey, Vinnie, I tought I tole you to stop bringin dat Runescape crap round our turf. Last time we let youse of easy but now..." The largest of the group steps forward and grabs the pencil holder. He than snaps it in two, throws it to the floor, stomps on it, and finishes by spitting on it. They leave, with the leader yelling, over his shoulder, "Dis is da last time, Vinnie! Dis here's a WoW school, soes you best not be bringing dat crud round here again!"

Jagex final blow to free air running
I don't see anything about lying about your skills. To your "I hate the idiot" thing, ha. Because I"m sure Jagex stood around a table and said "Hey, we all hate runecrafters (especially mauranius. Really, what a crybaby), let's figure out a way to ruin the skill! I know it's our game and therefore our passion, but let's ruin it. Why? So some kiddy can tell everyone else that we're ruining it, that's why!" And to retort your suggestion, I hope your next plan of action is to clean up your tears before they short circuit your keyboard and do some research into your argument rather than play the anti-fanboy (The opposite of a fanboy who praises everything, the anti complains about every little thing) We don't need more of Jagex's updates? Who is this "we"? Stop including myself and the other players into your barely intelligible drivel. We don't agree with you because none of your points are valid, they just come back to "omg Jadax hats us! RIOT IN FALADOR, N00BS JAGX FANBOIS" Show some sympathy, please. Just because it does not affect you doesn't mean that you need to belittle the woes of others. And, for your information, the December tenth updates affected a lot more than making .01% of the skill less convenient. What about law runners? Or the Nature runners? Those were MEMBERS that were affected by these updates. And advertising a false skill level IS scamming, regardless of what the rules say. You are cheating another person during a trade-the trade of his essence for runes and for exp for you. Even if it is only 10 gp per essence that they lose, that can break some of the poorer and more inexperienced players.

Are you keeping the Tipit tradition alive?
I've heard, on these forums, that saying HYT is something that you can get a blackmark for- like telling someone about a website that is not Jagex owned. Someone said they asked a mod friend about it so ya. You might want to take this with a grain of salt, though. i'm going to tell you this is wrong based on what jagex told me when i asked them about fansites. you can mention tip.it and stuff as long as you don't say go to tipit, and direct them to the site. this *may* have changed for fansites, but i've never been reported (that i know of) for mentioning tipit, and I've never gotten a blackmark for it. i'm not so sure with youtube though, that was rather recent when i asked, a few months as opposed to over a year when i asked about fansites. you can mention you saw a cool vid, but you can't tell them to seach youtube for (insert vid here) Really? Then the official policy isn't very well kept. I've heard tales of people getting blackmarked for saying youtube or even google.

2nd of September 2008: Distractions and Diversions
I'm sorry, but do you know the habits of most players? The average player does NOT wander the width and breadth of Runescape during an average day. No, the average Scaper spends most of their time in one or two spots, grinding there skills. The only way to find a star or penguins is to actively search for them.
