We dont need circus (closed)
This looks like it was written by a 5 year old. Wahh, da update not pee vee pee, wahh!!!! The game isn't going to crash and neither is the economy. You doomsayers need to get over yourself and your "I'm right, you're wrong, because I can make spooky and cryptic messages of DOOM" mentality. "The clock starts and Runescape had its days numbered" ooo spooky, almost out of a fairy tale. Ungrateful child. You sir, should realize that when someone pays for something, regardless of how little, he, as the customer, should have some say in how the product functions. Considering that his sentiments are shared by many others, myself included, about the low quality of this update then maybe, just maybe, Jagex should have thought twice about it.

Do you have friends that think runescape is stupid???
Actually, Runescape skill leveling is far, FAR different from beating Halo 3 on Legendary. A skilled player can beat legendary in a few hours. A skilled Scaper can get a 99 in, at least, a few days. And that's with cooking or fletching, with all materials bought, and no lifing.

Top Banner of Runescape.com Changed
Anyone remember the Castle Wars wallpaper released right before Catapult Construction? With the people wearing helmets other than hoods? I'm thinking this is the same thing, but with Clan Wars.

2nd of September 2008: Distractions and Diversions
That bad, huh? I think this is just something that you're supposed to deal with if it happens nearby. Mining shooting stars sounds fun if we find a hueg one. Aye, but you'll need at least 90 mining for the largest stars. The reason I gave this update such a bad review is because it really won't affect the way I play Runescape. It'll be a cold day in the abyss when I actually get bored enough to hunt penguins.

Banning for unabuseable bugs.
So you're reporting out of petty vindictiveness? Cause I can't do it, you shouldn't either? DESPITE the fact that people who use this bug cannot move, open skill windows, or even talk? I also see your doing this out of some misguided belief that it will aid you in becoming a player mod. And guess what? It won't. People like you, i.e. the tattle-tales/wbms, make many scapers live in fear that anything, anything at all, that could be misconstrued into breaking a rule, regardless of how far-fetched it sounds, and be reported for it, at which they will receive some sort of undeserved punishment.

2nd of September 2008: Distractions and Diversions
This sounds... poorly thought out. I mean, most people, when training don't actively move from area to area. If I'm fishing, I stay with the monkfish, not wandering from there to the fishing guild. The only movement I do is to the bank and back. Now, the shooting stars sound like their good money/exp for the time spent, while I hear the Circus clothes are pretty cool. BUT! The penguins? Not a good idea; you'll have to search the entirety of Runescape to find them all, unless Larry's hints are REALLY useful. Then you'll be rewarded with 65-130 k, depending on how hard they were to find and whether or not you've done Cold War. And I hear the circus rewards are TOTALLY random. And that the audience consistently demands the same thing/wants performances of really high skill levels. That does not sound fun. I give this update... two toes down.

It appears my prediction on that other thread about lagging pop-ups came true! All hail Ravadamus!

Runescape is dying. Topic is back after a few months -LooK-
So... when players start leaving a game like rats from a sinking ship, it doesn't reflect on the game's health? Not that I'm saying this is happening with Runescape players. I don't think Runescape is dying, but it is in decline. Jagex promising updates that never materialize, or don't do so until long after they're promised, updates being posted months in advance just to tantalize players into becoming payers, and "gimmicks" like that front page update about being in the Guiness Book of World Records (Gamers Edition). Add to this that their CS is STILL poor, they've officially called Runescape a game for all ages, and that one of their own executives referred, in an official interview, to Runescape as a "junior" MMORPG, well, it looks like the community, if not the game itself, is in for a downward spiral.

Tip.It Times Presents: The Gold Crunch
With an update of such economical magnitude, I think that just leaving the BTS-update gap for the economy to adjust might be much worse. The GE isn't designed to handle major panic buying/selling. At least this time it's keeping up. Yes there's going to be some pretty big price changes in the future, but change always has downsides and upsides. Every person who benefits, someone else loses out. For example, Essence Miners and Runecrafters. Coal miners and Smiths. Woodcutters and Fletchers. Fletchers and Alchers... You get the idea. I remember when the big Summoning Hype was a-happening. Prices on every hypothetical second rose, rose, rose. And some people got burned on those deals. Although I do agree it tends to be a seesaw like you've described, I think, since it is only possible to buy 100 bows every four hours, the Fletchers to Alchers no longer applies. Unless they meet in person.

kar-ah-jah-mah? kare-a-jama? how do you say those odd places
I pronounce Karamja as "That hellish place with poisonous critters coming out of the wazoo." Ardougne is "Thiefville" whilst I call Falador "City of Garish White Bricks and Garish White Knights." Furthermore, in my dictionary, Varrock is pronounced "Lackovanimalcontrolle." And finally, you have Lumbridge, humble Lumbridge, which is simply "Newb Orleans."

Should Charms Be Tradeable?
Well, technically magic and prayer can be bought, both of which are combat skills. And it does require a load of cash in conjunction with the time and effort.

Blackmarks...
Chinese gold farmers. And black marks are an all around stupid idea. Even when awarded unfairly, it is nigh impossible to have them removed. Once you have them, you'll never get them taken away. They should be removed, over time, for good behavior.

Wannabe-mods
To anyone saying that we need not worry if we're not breaking rules, READ THIS. When Jagex is FLOODED with these kinds of reports, one or two hundred are bound to slip through. Plus, there usage of auto messaging systems sort of reinforces this sort of error.

God book pages, animal masks???? Whats happened!
" Everything is worth whatever its purchaser will pay for it" -Henry Ford. The reason these things are so much higher than the GE price is as follows: 1. The animal masks are relatively new. Not to many of them have entered the marketplace. The God Pages are consumable so you have them LEAVING the marketplace. 2. With the addition of construction based items, as well as the page drops being nerfed, your chances for getting either item are drastically reduced. 3. The GE is not reactive; the prices on it are set far to low for new release items. Plus it is not reactive. Changing once a day on 5% margins will get you nowhere slowly. 4. People are smart/crafty. Why would you sell for the GE price when there are people willing to pay several times that amount for said item? To help someone you will never meet? To balance the market? So combine all of these factors and Voila! we have your answer.

August 26th 2008 - All Fired Up
I see it too. Maybe you get it after lighting all the beacons? Edit: Just checked. Nothing about getting experience on the minigame page.

Re-runs
True, but the whole point of canceling a task is so I won't have to slay that particular monster. I used all my prayer and about 20 monkfish to kill 2 and almost a third dragons. Then I burthorped it, setting me back to square one in terms of slayer points. Owned TBH. Yeah, sorry be cruel like Amitoz, but you got pwned TBH. You should be using prayer pots and anti fires, not monk fish. You should have AT LEAST 80+ attack and a whip while wearing proselyte armor. Super pure sets or combat pots are very helpful. Um... How exactly did you know I was wearing Proselytes? I mean, you could have inferred it buut... its creepy nonetheless. True, I did get "owned". I tend to be cheaper than a famous crab with a famous eater so I sort of didn't want to have to pay for those.

new low from players
What is your beef? Every time I see your posts, all I see are emoticons or a internet acronym. No substance, no point. It annoys me to no end and I can no longer bite my tongue. With Jagex's poor customer support, automated messaging, and strict censor and vague instructions, this sort of stuff happens shockingly often. As one guy said, he was banned, permanently, for uttering the word gay. This either means that 1. Jagex is homophobic or 2. Jagex does not wish anyone to be happy, gleeful, or joyful while playing Runescape. Either way, it's pretty sad.

When will knew spiirt quest come out!
Spirit of SUMMER? Plus Jagex said they would release it before the end of summer. Although, Autumn does not technically start until, I believe, the 21st of September. So be patient, young one. Because a quest has the name of a season it can only be released during that season, right? No, but that is how you're making it sound. It doesn't matter when it's released, a quest is a quest, regardless of the name and the season in which it's released. To quote Navi "LISTEN!" I also said that Jagex told us that it would be released before summer ends. Jagex likes them some puns.

August 26th 2008 - All Fired Up
So does this minigame give good experience for lighting the things? Is there any incentive to play after you get the items? I may only have 55 firemaking, but the rewards look... bleh. The adze is cool, but considering you need level 70 smithing and 59 construction to light all the beacons to get it, well, it looks a little less useful. Jagex made this update look like it was going to breathe new life into firemaking, and make it a useful skill. But all I see are three rewards, all of which aid firemaking (and woodcutting and mining, to a certain extent).

Where is Jagex going with the new poll?
Maybe it is because they can't afford it. That may be part of the reason why they play Runescape in the first place.

Barbarian Assault players
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Barbarian Assault is a good game, well designed, and should be fun. But alas!, the average Scaper is about as gregarious, cooperative, and rational as a Grizzly with a tooth ache and its paw caught in a trap.

Re-runs
I recently received an assignment of 51 iron dragons from Sumona, the lovely devourer turned slayer master. Realizing that this task would be exceedingly difficult for one of my current capabilities, I decided to use thirty of my forty-eight slayer points to have this assignment canceled. After doing so, I requested another assignment but apparently Sumona suffered from a lapse of memory and gave me an iron dragon task; but with a twist- only thirty-one required my slaying expertise! This is rather frustrating- after all, why did I cancel a task if I was to only receive it again, merely repackaged and reduced? The expenditure of those points appears to be, pardon the pun, pointless. Because of this little experience I propose that Jagex program slayer masters to never suffer amnesia and give a player the task he has just canceled. [sarcasm] And if we receive it not, than I propose that we storm the walls, destroy the guards, and burn the citadel wherein the beast dwells![sarcasm]
