  1. Would you hark at the man/woman! All of those updates are not implemented because players suggested them, but because they were needed to make post December 10 Runescape even FUNCTIONAL.
  2. Humans were definately around for the God Wars. The first humans came through that portal before Saradomin and Zamorak made their presence known. And the God Wars centered around them, Armadyl, Bandos, Zaros etc etc. That's what I thought, but wasn't Guthix asleep and forgotten during the God Wars? So why did he go to sleep before hand? Maybe we'll find out in another quest...
  3. Well, aren't elves immortal, or at least extremely long-lived? It could be possible that she, like Nibbler, did not travel in time but simply existed back then as well. Or maybe Eluned is Haluned's daughter. Oh, and the quest tells us that Guthix did not create Runescape. Sarah tells you this after you find her brooch.
  4. Anyone else examine the portal in Roger's story? Examine: "There's a cake through here, apparently." Besides the portal reference, we now know that we are from another plane of existence, that Guthix did NOT create Runescape, and that we may or may not have been present for the God Wars.
  5. I'm fat, alone, and a huge nerd. An Epic Nerd, in fact. But guess what? My account is three years old and I have but 1 mil gp and 9 mil exp. Plus, I'm wearing Proselytes with a DDS. So maybe we fat nerds aren't always no-lifers, hmm? And, if I was a no-lifer, I wouldn't have time for my DnD sessions... Think before you post!
  6. I can think of two things that have been nerfed recently: MM caves for Chinchompas and the Al-Kharid strip mine. Maybe Jagex went on a nerf frenzy during he graphics update.

I'ld love to know how you can play a game that isn't out for another 60+ days and hasn't been pre'd by any release groups. Also have you tried upgrading to the latest build of java? Sorry, I meant the Creature Creator. I assume, since the creatures in this game are what you will be playing with, that the real game will have similar specs. And, yes, I have downloaded the latest Java build.
  8. To the guy who brought up Cerebus- I can actually see that working. Considering that we already have hellhounds in Runescape, this Cerebus could have been an exceptionally powerful hellhound that was a pet to Zamorak. Since the wilderness is Zamorak's land, he might have sent his pet to destroy the village shortly onsideringafter the God Wars. I also think the Bible reference is plausible. Look at the ectofunctus; all those people became ghosts because they listened to an evil, lying priest. So what if the villagers had done the same, accepting the protection of a "priest" when he was, in fact, using a ploy to take their souls. Maybe this guy found out about it, but it was simply to late. And, one last theory, since the ghost mentions his family, couldn't his family be the Mahjarrat? They are a tribe which is comprised of people loosely related. Maybe the whole devourer thing could be Zaros's corrupting effects on the souls of some of the Mahjarrat?
  9. My friend tells me whips still look the same. Sausages, anyone?

Answer this riddle, oh wise ones: Why am I lagging on a computer that can comfortably play WoW, Spore, and Civilization 4 Beyond the Sword?
  11. On the one hand, I hate the way our characters look. On the other, my character's head is now the size of my own! Whoopee!
  12. Well, a few days ago they launched their new beta but still haven't fixed the GE, released the borrowing update, or trimmed back random events. Does this seem like an honest company with good priorities?
  13. Hated what little I saw. 130 million players since launch? How many of those have quit, been banned, were gold farmers, or were owned by one person? At best that is a half truth. And, now that Jagex is actively advertising, they'll be spending money on that and won't be able to claim that all of their new subscribers came through word of mouth/
  14. The only reason I still play Runescape is that my best friend plays. That and I can play it while surfing the web, reading, or playing my DS. Quite honestly, I enjoy WoW a lot more and think that it, and the company behind it, are better. Maybe the site also included other elements into their review, like customer support and company honesty...
  15. I think it's the lost soul of a villager from the God War era. Some creature, probably Zaros's or Zamorak's, found their village and, pardon the pun, went to town on them. It then went on to consume their souls and, somehow, missed this guy's soul. Or maybe it just grazed him, making his ghost insane and unable to move past the day of destruction.
  16. You guys are saying that "effing" is a filter evasion, right? But so are WTF, WTH, and a hundred other internet abbreviations that I have never wasted the time and brain cells to learn. But Jagex allows those. Although you shouldn't have insulted them; that was a bad move in anyone's book. Oh, and to the guy who said Jagex doesn't like immature kids, why are they trying to nab the under thirteen segment of the market?
  17. My first level 3 clue came after the update. My reward? A fire battlestaff, 27 deaths, and a rune longsword. In that same clue, I had the puzzle three times in a row. All of them were of the troll...
  18. I am 100% against that statement. I am sure that "free chat" will NEVER be taken out of this game. Interacting with each other socially is what puts the "Multiplayer" in MMORPG. What about Club Penguin or Toon Town? To the best of my knowledge, neither one allows "free chat."
  19. this has piqued my interest.. the name itself is alluring. Please explain what a baconator is all about. Bacon  Echo's picture does a good job of explaining: like 6 strips of bacon or something on a double cheeseburger. =P~ My arteries... they scream in terror! How can anyone eat that and survive? I don't believe they use beef at all. If they don't freeze it, it can't be beef. It would have to be something with a longer shelf life... like roach or silverfish...
  20. Ok, maybe the games themselves are not childish. But I've been to the site. The styling screams 10 and under. That alone is enough to make me feel embarrassed about playing it. Its kind of like playing Neopets. A lot of the games take strategy, but the site itself is childish.
  21. This was taken directly off of the RS front page. When I posted it in General Discussion, I was told, by a moderator, that General Discussion is for the discussion of Runescape matters only and to bring this here. I'm not insulting the mod, she was just doing her job and was totally justified, but I AM pointing a finger of scoff at Jagex. Why? Well, they have advertised, multiple times, Funorb on their RS main page. This may not seem a like a big deal, after all this doesn't affect Runescape, but it reflects poorly on Jagex. I'm tired of them pushing Funorb onto us. If I wanted to join their childish minigame site, I would have done so the first time. I don't mean this to be a rant, I just want to know how you guys feel about this. Do you feel that Jagex should be advertising Funorb on Runescape? Why or why not?
  22. I think better, but not good enough. Compare this to not only other pc games, but to consoles as well. Plus, I've just downloaded the Spore Creature Creator, and, well, let's just say that a single musket man would be more capable of going head to head with a WWII tank then Runescape would be going against Spore.
  23. Before you shoot me for bringing up FunOrb on a Runescape fan site, I must remind you I found this on the Runescape Front Page...
  24. WE'RE not trying to compete, but Jagex sure is. Plus, with Doomhammer: Age of Reckoning coming out soon, Jagex HAS to get their butt in gear to even KEEP the small slice of the market they have. Is it just me or do the new graphics look a little... cartoony? And when I say cartoony, I'm not talking about something for more mature audiences, but something bright and cute. Of course, they haven't shown us Morytania yet...
  25. Helping people is a good thing. Unfortunately, Runescape doesn't really seem to involve much of this spirit. First, most tasks can be done alone, with no help whatsoever. In fact, I can only think of three or four things in game that MUST be done with a group. Because of this, players often go it alone and only cooperate when needs must. Ever played Castle Wars or Pest Control? How much order and teamwork do you see there? How many insults do you hear, often between team mates? This also stems from the many younger players who frequent the site. Plus we also have, let's face it, horrible clan support. The only things that Jagex have seen fit to give clans is a horrible chat system and a lousy minigame, and that was only last year. So, all in all, Runescape tends toward the do-it-your-selfer, not the team player.
