Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
An interesting theory and not one without ground, but take a second look at the museum display The dragonkin are described as "a new terror", and the people were left to "deal with this problem". There's no denying that the dragonkin were extremely powerful, but if they were peaceful, then why were they a problem? Also, Robert the Strong had to "drive them back to their stronghold", which would suggest that they were expanding their influence into human territory. The display, however, could be inaccurate and biased. After all, it puts this event at the start of the fourth age, yet in the original book from Tail of Two Cats, the events were said to have taken place in the first age. So I could go both ways. Please don't misinterpret that remark. As you said, it could be biased. Looking at Regicide, we find that we are manipulated into killing the good king. Jagex seems very fond of twisting their lore so you can never be certain what is true or false. But then, they could be black and white, a clear threat. Only time will tell.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
One more thing. Are the Dragonkin evil? We assume this given our predisposition towards dragons, but the only evidence we have beside that is Robert the Strong's defeat of a single Dragonkin. But why did Robert attack that Dragonkin? If it was because it was evil, was it representative of its entire race? Besides this, we consider dragons evil, but who slaughters thousands upon thousands daily to sell their hides and bones for cash? Who slays who's children while the parent stands helpless to intervene, watching in horror? Not them.

99 fletch>99 str (str is really overrated)
The one forty has shock value. When a player sees that, he goes "Yikes! I could very well lose!" shaking him up a little and maybe causing him to make a mistake. That's the same reason I include an Ultralisk in my horde of Zerglings. It's big, it's tough, and it's a little scary. So even though I would be equally or even better served by more Zerglings for the same price in terms of numbers, I use them to freak out other players.

Bones to Peaches - A very useful spell
... says the guy who inadvertently bumps the thread in an attempt to stop others from bumping it... It was already the first topic of this forum when i posted. Nice one  It was a joke? Pointing out the irony that, in order to tell others to stop bumping this thread, you had to bump it as well?

Does "Skiller" really mean no combat?
A true skiller is a level three with an untrimmed slayer cape. But seriously folks, I define skillers as those who are interested in more than just combat. So, by my definition, most of Runescape's populas ARE skillers.

What would be the best incentive...
Only, and let me make myself clear, ONLY if members also get the Blade of Bureaucratic and Bearacratic Impending Doom with Triple Expediency Stickers of Destruction.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
That's something I'm still not really clear on. It would seem like the dragons have a straightforward reproductive cycle with eggs and babies and so on, but the KBD in the Postbag Letters seems to suggest that there are more to dragons, and their ability to reproduce, than meets the eyes The even more like the Orks. Orks reproduce via spores that are seeded regularly AND when they die. So, even if you kill one, give it a few days, and WHAMMO! little Ork bushes growing in the very spot where he died. So maybe, even though we're killing them, they reproduce through death? Maybe by wearing their hides as armor we give them some sort of power? I'm just throwing out ideas here.

Dragonkin: After the Rise of Lucien
Just somethings to add, based completely on my own experiences. The Dragonkin appear to resemble the Skeksies of Jim Henson's the Dark Crystal. They have a similar body shape, minus the feathers, and have the same fear of death. Their creation of the dragons is to the Old Ones of Warhammer 40ks manipulation of other beings to defend themselves against the Necrons. Most specifically, the Krorks/Orks. The Krork/Ork was intended to be a survival race, capable of outlasting the Old Ones. Similarly, dragons appear to be capable of continuing the Dragonkin legacy due to their ability to reproduce.

The Gods Of Runescape
Oh, there is a sky. But the pantheon of Runescape forbids us from looking up on pain of eternal pain. From each of them and their various hells.

Noobody loves Noobs!
Very true! There seems to be a trend going on: if you were helped out by people when you first started playing the game, you yourself tend to help other new players out! So many people helped me out when I first started playing the game (and sadly, none of them play any longer) and it's nice to put some good energy of mine into the game! Really? Well I never got much help in the beginning. But I do try to help people if the task at hand isn't to large or time consuming. A sort of what comes around goes around. By helping others, I help improve the community as a whole!

And WoW people think we are stupid...
Dude, I have Pagan friend and the day of Halloween is the Pagan new year. I get invited to their parties. And, I know it's [developmentally delayed] because you look [developmentally delayed]. End of. ... Halloween was a day in which the monsters of hades/hell came out for a stroll through the countryside. It was in a sense the new year, because the Celtic harvest ended at that point. But I doubt your friend is a Celt. If not, I believe you may be thinking of the Winter Solstice. If so, full apologies to your blue painted, warrior friend.

Could a tiny F2P Update Actually HELP P2P?
The FOG robes are satisfactory mage armour. Yes... but they degrade. This is annoying. Plus, some people loathe FOG. So that's just a wee bit unfair to them that the only pair of good mage robes come from a minigame.

Could a tiny F2P Update Actually HELP P2P?
In addition to this, why not give F2P one decent piece of mage armor: Mystics. Now, they cannot purchase it themselves, but they can buy it from Members. Ergo, some clever merchants could buy the robes in bulk and sell them for a modest profit.

Newer MechScape concept art
These building sketches look like Tau architecture. Same colors and same style. Heck, I'm surprised there aren't any earth caste doing a bit of maintenance around it.

The Gods Of Runescape
Wrong. Before the coming of the prophet Brutha, yes they did commit many crimes. But then, so does every Discworld god aside from the Lady, the god of Evolution, maybe Fate, and the smaller gods. Om is considered a good god because he doesn't do anything- when your gods are very likely to strike you down with lightening because you haven't been worshiping hard enough, this is a very attractive prospect.

That's nerdy, not stupid. Get your facts straight.

The Gods Of Runescape
WRONG! In Making History, it is revealed that some other force created Gielenor. I believe they were referred to, by Guthix, as the Elder Gods? Guthix found this plane of existance and began populating it. Maybe he created some of the creatures, but it is seen that he brought humans here through a portal. Bandos did something similar, as shown in Land of the Goblins.

Heya all just wondering And dont BS on this
Hopefully the next update will see them all become my loyal, willing subjects. Yes, that's right, bow before the mighty emperor Ravenkana! Like an Emperor Penguin, but minus the tux!

members noobs ftw...
Heck, I'm only 14, and I can remember getting soap in the mouth.. although I do agree with you, although I am in that criteria. Lucky you. It was the belt for me.

Apeshit sacred clay (srry in advance)
Thats probably the biggest load of cabbage I've ever seen/heard in my life, and I work with drug addicted teenagers. If ANYBODY can PROVE to me that F2P players cover every single one of their own expenses, not only will I buy you membership cards for the next 5 years, I'll fly to your country of residence and kiss a ring on your hand. Really? You mean it? But is it worth sneaking into Jagex HQ and stealing their financial records? Nah... throw in some groveling, though, and you have yourself a deal!

True origin of the Jagex name and logo
Doesn't that describe a majority of most early PC, turbografix, Sega, and NES games?

11 November 2008 - Stealing Creation
I agree with the first part of your post they defintaly need to give us some better rewards and to make the proto at least equal to the rune pick ax when its used as a pick ax. I also agree that both skill and fighting should get xp while they play the game. I cant disagree with you more though about the third thing you said if your a low lvl but high skills and you have half a brain you'd know the most important thing beside getting some armour and food would be to always carry barriers with you and they would be fine.I'm not particularly low- I'm level 94- and my construction level is only in the fifties, so I've never bothered with that part. But I suppose that really WOULD help low levels... Thanks for the insight!

"Random" events? [Lock Please...]
It's a harmless bug that harms no one. Since randoms almost always get junk, what advantage does he garner? It's like that summoning bug, where you could bring summons into the G.E. The catch was, that if you moved or did anything, it would disappear. Did that hurt anyone? Give an advantage? But that doesn't matter to some people- people who would rather follow the letter of the law as opposed to the spirit. What I'm saying is that bug abuse should only be reported if it clearly harms the game, harms other players, or gives some sort of advantage. Otherwise, you're just being a tattle-tale, no offense.
