More Grand Excrement Lies
This just in: Spirit Weed Seeds are 15 k, Spirit Weeds are 7.7 k, and Summoning potions are 150 gp. Can we fix it?!? Now we can't!!!

Skillers Beware!
With small nets, not big nets. The Granite Crab is big net fishing.
-
Skillers Beware!
50 gp cost per spirit shard, plus secondary materials, to yield like a 20 experience for a level 3 pouch...
-
Skillers Beware!
At level 96. Of a skill far more costly than construction. You missed my post? It's a combat related skill :P Just like prayer. Skillers shouldn't have any advantages by this. But it was sold as a skill that would help OTHER skills and the combat bonus would be secondary.

Skillers Beware!
Now, is it just me or does summoning seem to favor combat? All of the listed monsters seem to have paltry effects in way of skilling aid. Look at the Granite Crab: the fishing bonus might be nice, but who REALLY net fishes? And the Rock Lobster, who needs to use it instead of a harpoon when you can get a wieldable harpoon for less effort? Considering the cost of the skill, what use does a skiller have for it? One could quite possibly buy a dragon wc axe for less than the price of getting the skill to level 60. So why should hard-core skillers even bother?

Summoning yes, but not like this.
Ya... Because you need more than 200 mil to get it...

Summoning yes, but not like this.
Has anyone noticed that the "skilling" monster benefits don't seem so great? I mean, not great enough to be worth the summons? 50% of monsters in summoning are withheld until February. So this thread is based on a virtually 50% released skill, which isn't enough for me to believe the skill is already ruined. Where is that found again? http://www.runescape.com But I see no mention that only half the skill has been released. Isn't the Pak Yak level 96 summoning?

More Grand Excrement Lies
Because it's not fair to those who make the items OR those who want to buy them. And because they said they wouldn't do this. :wall: But the GE is flexible, and come tommorow, the price will be higher , and the day after, perhaps higher, depending on demand. I can see the sense in putting a set price on the first day. After all, its up to the players to push the price higher and higher, or lower or lower. Jagex has simply set the scene , allowing players like yourself and others to set the price in the future. If you truly are interested in higher pricing for pouches like alot of others, you will sell at highest GE price, pushing the price up the following days. Welcome to the new, revised RS post 10th december '07 :P CoughcoughWHEEZEpriceceilingscoughcoughHACKpricefloorscough

15 January 2008 - Summoning!
The only thing I like about this skill is the new pets... But then you still have to have a high summoning level for some of them... sigh...

More Grand Excrement Lies
That, my boy, is called supply and demand. Let's say, there are 100 of the new items in the game and there are 100000 people trying to get them (could happen with very rare items). Should the 100 items be sold at incredibly low prices, just because, huh, because of what actually? :ohnoes: Why not? Let me ask you this. Do you think that had there been restrictions all along that we would have this thread? No.. it is just a game and someone is mad because they can't make billions off some poor sap. I am happy because it will mean that I can afford it. So, in essence, we are all being selfish but for different reasons. Qeltar is being selfish because of lack of profits. I am being selfish because I can afford something. It is up to you to decide which one you agree with. I am sure that if I wanted to I could see the argument from qeltar. I just like it this way better. You can only afford this skill with obscene amounts of money and a name like Richy McRich or Scrooge McDuck. Or Donald Trump.

Huzzah! Back when construction came out, I made a mint just by running from the sawmill to Rimmington with items. After all, anything is worth whatever its purchaser will pay for it.

More Grand Excrement Lies
I expected them to do what they SAID they were going to do, and let PLAYERS decide the prices instead of pulling ridiculous numbers out of their derrieres. they said they would allow for some leway, not unrestricted price settings. What leeway? We still have the same trading restrictions on these items as on everything else in the game...

I expected them to do what they SAID they were going to do, and let PLAYERS decide the prices instead of pulling ridiculous numbers out of their derrieres. WILL YOU EVER LISTEN? Look, the skill is new. Therefore people would put INSANE prices. Jagex will most likely remove it in time, and let the players DECIDE then. Let the skill be out for a while first. So... they lied to us?

I expected them to do what they SAID they were going to do, and let PLAYERS decide the prices instead of pulling ridiculous numbers out of their derrieres. I agree. How could Jagex decide the prices without any prior feedback? They should have just not allowed the new items to be traded by the GE until AFTER an established price has been created, i.e. in three weeks to a month.

15 January 2008 - Summoning!
Of course, to me at least, none of the "skilling" monsters seem particularly rewarding...

? Why? What ever happened to the mighty economic gods of Supply and Demand? They will are most displeased! In fact, at some point EVERYTHING will become worthless/cheap. Rune, Dragon Chain, Barrows, Abbysal Whip, all these items were once owned by none but the creme of the crop! Now? They can be bought for nothing/a modest fee! Edit: The gods of Economics will demand a sacrifice... and it won't be pretty...

Summoning too hard to level?
But you have to take into account that you get exp for making the pouches and what not. And if you turn the pouches into scrolls, you get a small amount of exp when you use them. Basically... if they allow Tears of Guthix starting next week, the skill will become slightly easier to level. The main issue is getting the needed resources with hundreds of people running around looking for the same thing. Wouldn't hurt if the shards were a little cheaper though. And I'm sure once I run out of charms... I'll be wishing that old whats his face sold some. Well... this is a major money drain then... But methinks only the wealthy will be able to train this; go to Canifis, buy as many raw chickens as you need, go to the GE, buy as many gold charms as you need, and go to Taverly and purchase as many summoning pouches/spirit thingies as you need. The poor really CAN'T train this...

Did Upset PKers Even Read News Posts?
Those are the same people who were too selfish and ignorant to realize how real world trading was affecting the game and the company irl. Either that, or they were the pkers/stakers who were purchasing gold everytime they were cleaned. Ya. Those fools never realized how much fun it is to click on a tree, get some logs, walk back to the bank, and repeat again and again and again for another woodcutting level...
-
obtaining Spirit Weed?
Wait... I thought Jagex wouldn't put a price one newly released items yet...
-
Summoning too hard to level?
I was looking at the summoning experience per summon... 0.1 exp for summoning the first three monsters... ouch.
-
Noobs say the funniest things!
That's a PLAYER MOD? Wow... selection has gotten lax at Jagex Dungeons.

New-look Desert Lizards!?!
Meh, I've made worse mistakes. And something tells me this is related to Summoning... I wonder.. Summoning! Umm....Old monsters that will be related to summoning getting a graphical boost? Vultures...
