I've got the best solution for this problem... I make sure that I always get the first hit. If you're better and faster than them, they can't annoy you.

Secondly: Just because you don't like pking doesn't mean that people who want it back are stupid RWTers. They are players who want to be able to use their favorite feature again. Third: Do you also think that the student protestors in the '60s and '70s should have all just shut up? A much bigger issue, but the same principle. This is from waaay back, but it REALLY freaked me out: I was standing on a balcony/porch ~15 feet above the ground, with my back to the door, and everything was in black&white, except for splashes of glowing rainbow-colored paint(Imagine a puddle of oil, but much brighter), and I could only see for a few meters. A stick figure about ~3.5 feet tall suddenly appears in front of me, holding a palmful of blood. Then I woke up. So yeah, I really have no idea why I dreamed that, but it was scary at the time..

Eh, I don't really mind much, seeing as how I never bothered with staking or merching. So I'll just be doing the same as always. Slayer, boss killing, Fishing and RCing are probably the best ways to get money these days, but with the monsters you need to have enough cash to keep yourself in supplies until you get a decent drop. If you can afford it, Barrowing is probably the best way, unless you have awful luck..

Why are they so eager to implant them in babies? Because they can provide anyone with a huge wealth of personal information, and with the included GPS, can track any person with a chip anywhere in the world. And by remove, I mean kill/detain for 'an indefinite period of time'. If I had to guess, I'd say the CIA would be behind it. Yeah, probably the best thing to do is sell your stuff except for a few items for skilling, and just keep making money. I dumped everything I owned a few weeks back, and I'd have made ~250-300k profit if I bought it all back today, so I'm going to keep it sitting in my bank for a while.

Miniclip itself isn't evil; it is simply a portal that twisted creatures known as young children and gold farmers used to gain access to our world. Probably the worst thing that miniclip could be blamed for with any basis in fact would be the influx of goldfarmers; the more people play, the better RS looks to the farmers. The kids mostly seem to hear about RS from their friends, lie their way past the character creation, and go out into the world... Only to find that they don't know how to play, mainly because they are eight.. with the typical attention span of an 8 year old. Miniclip isn't the root of the problem, its a scapegoat.

They took out some really bad scum, but in the process they destroyed pretty much all the kindness left in the game. And I just LOVE how they tried to soften the blow by spreading all that hype about summoning just before they broke the news. "Hey kid, here's a new toy! Oh, yeah, about that crash, we don't think you'll ever be able to walk again..." But the worst part of it is... 3k?! 3,000 lousy gp... When was the last time you thought of 3k as a lot of money? Level 10? Even 50k/15min would still be reasonable, it would take 5 hours to transfer 1m that way... I mean, its nice that they finally did something, but they did a lot of it in a way that was bad for the game. As for the pures, well, maybe they'll actually all quit this time...But note that the people at JaGEx didn't remove NH pking, they just changed it around. It just sucks that clans can't play 'for keeps' any more.

Correct. They essentially murdered a VERY unique game economy, something that is truly special. They have killed kindness in the game they were trying to 'save'. The assist system does NOT replace giving out free sets of iron to new players, selling stuff to friends at discount prices, giving gifts and having drop parties among a small group of friends/clanmates. There isn't any room for growth and development in the economy; prices can only change by tiny increments over a VERY long period of time. They killed everything that made Runescape good; the community (bad as it may seem), pking, staking and, really, the second 'M' in MMORPG. All for the sake of a vendetta. Personally, I really don't think it was worth it. They destroyed some really awesome stuff, they knocked a chunk out of their profits, they lost hundreds, if not thousands, of long-time players. And they tryed to make us forget by releasing all the stuff about summoning right before they broke the news. -.- Basically: "Guess what Billy? I got you a candy bar at the store!" "Oh, yeah, Umm... I kinda ran over your dog..." "..But I got you candy!"

See the post count? In ~ONE DAY. The past few updates have basically been JaGEx burning down a house to kill the mice. They wrecked so many important, unique features of RS in only a few days, and they expected us to accept cut-rate substitutions. For what? Because they decided to pursue a vendetta against a VERY small group of players and some groups of slightly unethical people. I think that possibly the ONLY good thing to come out of these updates is that it's virtually impossible to scam people. If they want to go this far, could they at least come up with GOOD replacements for the missing features? Runescape has changed from being an MMORPG into a hybrid game that allows tiny amounts of interaction, basically on the chat screen. A modern text adventure... And once again; WHY 3K?!

Great read, and right on the target. I'm seriously considering quitting for quite a few months, if not years, considering how much crap they've forced down our throats. The real issue is with the trading, it pretty much eliminates any form of help or skill-related trade. No more handing out piles of coins, cakes, and sets of full steel in Lumbridge. No more trading sets of materials for end products. No more loaning items to friends. No more giving gifts, unless they happen to be exchanged at the same time, and they are virtually the same 'value'. No more staking. No more all-or-nothing clan wars at the gdz, where the winners go home with glory and piles of loot. No more monster-hunting teams. No more player interaction... It really is sad that the JaGEx staff are willing to drive off thousands of loyal players, and trash important, long-loved features of the game, just to keep a few spoiled kids from wasting their money on gold... If this really is what they want in their crusade, could they at least take a different route? :| And seriously, 3k.. What. The. Hell. :?:

You think thats hard? Try selling an obby shield.. or anything obby besides the cape, for that matter..

Keep it. It weeds out all the kids with attention spans of under 5 minutes.
