  1. Hmm, a lot of harsh comments here. Chill out guys. But I have to agree, the guide does need some work. First of all, few players besides the impatient noobs seeking an easy 99 will actually judge a guide's ease by the number of steps. Powercutting willows from 30 to 99 is incredibly tedious and takes weeks even if you no-life it. If someone were to try this guide, theyd get to around 40 wc and realize they're not even halfway there, and drop their axe and never chop a tree again. The thing is, people are looking for more in a guide than which trees to chop. We all know how to get to 99 wc the old fashion way: chop trees repeatedly. If you want a successful guide to woodcut, you need to go beyond the conventional methods of chopping, banking/dropping, and then more chopping. Find different approach to 99 that not many people do, and teach people how to do it and show them that it IS more effective than chopping repeatedly. Right now, the guide is sort of pointing out the obvious.
  2. Yeah, but there are sites that will give you an imitation of the RSOF login page so that you make the mistake of logging in thinking you're entering the safe forums. You won't get a virus, but you'll have given off your password to the site owner. This thread owner got incredibly lucky that the scammer was an idiot in not changing the recovery questions. He probably logged in to check out how rich the account was then flipped out when he saw any remote wealth, then completely forgot to ensure his scam was foolproof.
  3. One of the biggest mistakes anyone can make when running from a rev is to panic. As I said already, I love to hunt revs. A lot of times I'd be with a small team of low level players who think it will be an awesome experience. Then a rev vampire comes and they flip out. They are torn between fighting it and living up their manhood or running away and keeping their addy. A lot of times they are so confused on what to do that they forget to eat and die quickly. A few tips when you're running/hiding from revs: 1. Revs can walk THROUGH doors and gates. I've seen low level players hiding inside the zammy altar in 40 wild and think they're safe, only to see the rev vampire walk right through the door and destroy them. 2. Revs can often attack you even when they're off your screen. Even after you've gotten away, do NOT stop running until you've gone a good 6-10 seconds without him throwing another attack at you. I suggest that if you're not a rev hunter, read up on revenants on the bestiary. There was an old guide on revenant hunting in the guides forum here, I'm not sure if it's still alive but you can probably search it. Know your enemy inside and out and don't panic when you get hit by a 25. It's tough especially for low level players who are too used to monsters hitting 10s or less.
  4. I'm always trying out alternative armor/weapon setups for slayer tasks ti find one that works efficiently for me. I tried verac'ing at waterfiends. I failed. The other guys with their karils and zammy spears laughed at me. Another guy at waterfiends was dharoking them. He failed. I laughed. Another tried to use guthans. He didn't even make it to the waterfiends, the brutal green's fire breath 2-hit-killed him. And as jammy said, the jelly/bloodveld killers who wear metal armor and wonder how they get badly hurt. Research a monster before you kill them, and listen to the slayer master's tips...
  5. A waste of time if you ask me, but I'm glad Jagex is stepping up to support idiot customers. Honestly, those lv 40s with "runescape", "zezima", "password", and "noob" as their pass just deserve to be haxed and lose their 50k worth of bank items. And as someone else already said, most account stealers get accounts by means of keyloggers, not guessing it. But I think Jagex has better things to do than protect account safety of lazy customers.
  6. 1. How would they change it? make you unable to kill unarmed players with 26k? 2. There's nothing unfair. Anyone with a buddy can do it. 3. Such profitable drops are rare. Most of the time you'll profit only a little. I tried tricking with a buddy once. He didn't profit off any of his kills, while I made 60k for each one.
  7. When corrupt items first came out, they were incredibly low prices. daggers were 35k :wall: Wish I bought a few. Even though they don't sell well anymore, I still would have had major profit once they finally did.
  8. I would prefer taking an hour off school so that we don't have to wake up as early. No matter how early you sleep, it's always a real [bleep] to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning and it leads to student drowsiness in school.
  9. I am a 107+6 and I don't have any skillcapes OR questcape. I despise skilling and the only skill I train is slayer. And on a lot of tasks the combat exp isn't that great which is why my combat stats aren't that good after nearly 4 years of playing.

I'm a Catholic. I was never taught that the human body was shameful, nor do I think it is. Please. Don't blame a society-wide particular view on one single religion. Or at least elaborate more. That's about the 5th time I've heard it's the church's fault and I think that is an unsupported claim. The church looks down on adultury, rape, and pre-marital sex and all three would be direct results of nudity being legalized for the next few decades until we all got used to it. But the reasons people are driven to these acts because of seeing someone naked was not at all influenced by the church. The church isn't tempting people to these acts, it's human behavior that evolved into abusing sex. You and I both know that if nudity was legalized right now, rape crimes and teenage pregnancies would go up. Don't even deny it. We can't change a society-wide view overnight. It would take decades before nudity is accepted by everyone, Catholic and non-catholic alike, and decades more before it comes to a point where a good-looking girl isn't afraid to walk the streets alone naked. I don't consider the church to be the villian here.
  11. 1. Student 2. No 3. If I had glasses, Harry Potter. 4. Tom Cruise 5. My grades 6. Nothing thankfully. Yet. 7. Waffles. They have little squares embedded that trap the syrup. 8. Anything with Chocolate 9. Nintendo Wii. 10. Nintendo DS. Actually not broken, I left it out on my table and when my ghetto cousins came over they stole it. 11. The idiots in my school doing what they do best -- being idiots 12. Ugh, too hard to answer. Probably a traditional Goan meal my mom cooks. 13. World War I and/or II. I love war history. 14. yeeeeeeaaaaahhhh!
  12. I'm a master healer and have done plenty of runs with either 2 healers or 2 attackers. The only way it will work with 2 attackers is if everyone knows what they're doing. If even one player is weak and clueless, you're screwed with only one healer. That healer would have to constantly accompany the noob player. What I like to do if I'm the only healer is make it my first priority to kill all the penance healers. Then I get rid of all my leftover food and go heal my attacker and defender. If one of them is struggling, I sit with them. The ideal situation is that the attacker and defender can sit next to eachother, so the healer doesn't have to run around. The attacker helps protect the defender from the onsloughts while I keep the defender's hp up and can keep an eye on the attacker as well. Two master healers is often overkill. The penance healers will die quickly, the other players will be kept at full hp, but most of the time the healers will just sit there in case the defender gets owned. It's probably better off having one of those healers become attackers and own the penance that the attacker struggles with.
  13. My only reaction when I read the word "niggles" in the update was "what on earth is a niggle?". It's not the kind of word used every day. But common sense would say that the word used in this situation would obviously mean an annoyance or tiny, unimportant thing. Leave it to RSOF to blow it out of proportion.
  14. If you knew me, you'd know I'm very easily saddened and incredibly paranoid and insecure. I have plenty of friends but I hate to ask them favors or correct them when theyre doing something wrong for fear that they'll do something drastic. When I get insulted, I try my best to put on a false bravado when I'm really hurt on the inside.
  15. Having a regret. Whether it was something small like "I regret going out with that girl" or a real painfil regret like not saying goodbye to a dying loved one, it's very hard to get through the day (at least for me) when I remember that I had neglected to do something or did something wrong and paid the price. I usually have small regrets that irk me for the whole day; I've never lost a close loved one and hopefully will not lose any in the next few years. But I know that if I neglected to say or do something for a dying loved one, it would haunt me for the rest of my life.
  16. I find it interesting that so many people here have or know others who have step-parents. Of all my friends and all of my community that I know, I only know of one girl who has a step-dad, and she lives 10 miles away and only comes here for school. She loves her step-dad though, it's the only masculine influence in the house. She has 4 sisters, a mother, and grandmother all living in one house.

What the hell is with all the nostalgia threads lately? Anyway, I still own a watergun and occasionally take it outside to spray my unsuspecting brothers. Mine has double barrels (or whatever you call the part of the watergun where the water shoots out). The first is a normal pump-and-squirt one. The second barrel has a big lever thing that when you press releases a huge jet of water onto a close-range person. The only downside is the blast uses half your tank, but it's well worth it to see the person's reaction. When I was 8 I used the same watergun at group picnics and the pressure of the powershot would knock little kids to the ground. I dominated the picnic arena... :D
  18. The Runescape craze was what got me here in tipit in the first place. Of course, most of my irl friends have long since abandoned the game and moved on to other games. Me and one other friend are the only ones who stayed. And from 4th-6th grade: Yugioh. Loved that game. 90% of the kids in my neighborhood had a yugioh deck. A majority of my class played yugioh and we'd do it during recess and our snack breaks. One of my friends (the same one who still plays rs) hosted a birthday party where all we did was play baseball at the park and played yugioh in the field house. Good times. My neighbors played it too and we'd duel after school for about half an hour each day. After my homework I'd work on improving my deck with my card collections, trading with my brother and friends and neighbors, and buying more booster packs once every few weeks. Now I have a big tin of cards and I only play with my brother occasionally when I'm bored. And who could forget Livestrong bracelets? A few girls in my class would have bracelets going to their middle forearm. Even the guys would think they were manly by wearing pink ones. It got to a point where the teachers forbade more than two or three on your wrist at once. The kids held a protest because they considered it stopping them from supporting charity because the bracelet manufacturers said the money went to disaster victims. Was a pretty interesting situation.
  19. My stats are too fail for pking. I can only do it with teams. My strength is rather low for my level so both f2p and members pking it's hard for me to get a kill. When I was f2p all I did was pk because I had nothing better to do, but I died a lot more than I got kills. And when I did get kills, the loot was rarely worth any more than 50k.
  20. That Vietnamese Monk who burned himself alive to protest the war in Vietnam. His picture is all over the internet and is now a common symbol for rebelling for a righteous cause. The image is disturbing yet you can't be disgusted because of how admirable his sacrifice was. While we're on the subject of protest, let's not forget the man in Tiananmen Square who boldly stood in front of the tanks. These guys have way more courage than a spoiled bastard like me will ever have.
  21. I'm best at math (geometry and trigonomotry are quite fun in particular, and I think all branches of math are the most useful in life.

I love to daydream. I've dreamed the plots for loads of mental movies and a few videogames.
  23. Explanation for everyone who doesn't get it: some random discussion on a penguin in a mushroom suit in the HYT clan chat. I told him not to post it here, he still did :wall:
  24. Ok we get it. it was mushroom. couldn't you have pmed rip instead of posting this? :wall:
  25. The thing about Communism is that some of its standards have already deemed completely corrupt by Western society. As the current argument rages, one of the big things is whether different professions should get the same wage. In modern, capitalist society, we are told that the harder you work, the better off you'll be. So naturally the first instinct of a capitalist advocate or even the common man in society would be "Doctor getting paid the same as a bag boy? Unfair!". If those same people were born and raised under Communist ideals then they'd believe that their profession choice is not by how successful it would make you but how well you'd use your skills and how it would benefit society, because Communism seems to be less focused on the individual. A common man today would, when proposed with a job, ask immediatly "how much does it pay?". A communist would learn not to do that, that payment amount is not important for anything. So I guess the only way society as a whole would accept Communism is if the ideals were implemented into the roots of everyones brain first, before the whole system was established in a country. Otherwise, people with today's capitalist ideals being forced into Communism would lose their work ethic entirely. Why work so hard every day when you won't earn anything more than the guy who bags groceries for a living?
