Swing and a miss...
I have to agree. Although soul wars was placed conveniently next to a tele spot (edgeville glory tele), I think it could have been put in one of those obscure overlooked towns. Maybe have the ring of duelling teleport you there to keep the teleport convenience of the minigame, and to make the ring of duelling a standard 4-tele-spot teleportation apparatus.

Friends list policies.
-What type of person will you add? Someone who I've done several activities with (usually pvp trick, monster hunting, etc). -How long will you need to talk to them before you add them? Usually an hour or two is good enough so I can trust them. Nowadays I only add players close to my level or above because don't see how a low level player can be beneficial to me. -What type of person would you decline a friendship with? Someone whom I've just met, someone who wants me on their friends list just for money, and someone who typically acts like a jerk or abuses chatspeak. -How would you break the news to them? The usual "friends list is full, sorry". I'm not the kind of guy with the guts to say flat out "no, I don't like you and don't want to be your friend". -What would make you take someone off your friends list... Them being jerks to me after I add them, or begging me. -...or even add them to the ignore list? Beggers usually because I can't stand them and a few of em have the audacity to try to track me down, so I ignore them.

PkersInc PvP/BH Video 1
By far the best pvp vid I've seen in a while. Epic drops, great teamwork and individual skills, perfect editing and music... And the armadyl godsword from a 1 itemer to finish it all off. That dude must be pissed, he never saw it coming!

Orks in Zanaris
I suppose this thread is turning into a FTP3 predictions thread. As everyone said, the orks were there since around halfway through FTP2 and they just stayed ther afterwards. Maybe ther'll be a zanaris achievement diary with all kinds of tasks including "talk to an ork"? Or maybe they're just sitting there in preparation for their next battle against good in FTP3.

Effective Skilling in PvP worlds (under construction)
Love the guide. I slay in pvp frequently so the tips there aren't new to me, but everything else can be pretty helpful. One thing you might want to note to slayers is that if you're meleeing in pvp, slayer helmets and rune defenders have very low alch values and almost anything will protect over them. Almost all runes will protect over rune defenders, and black d'hide will protect over slayer helmets! Therefore if you have either of these in your equipment while slaying in pvp, you should either teleport/run as soon as a white dot is sighted or if you get tbed and entangled begin to drop EVERYTHING that will protect over these items. I personally suggest bringing neither of these items as well as other ones with low alch values and replacing them with something easier to return. If you have a zammy book, use that over a defender as you can get it back for free. As for the helmet, use anything but the slayer helm as if you lose it you'll have to spend another 600k for the black mask back to make a new helm.

Restart Puzzles After Log Out Should Be Removed
I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this topic, but I do support the idea. I've done over 60 lv 3 treasure trails from slayer, over 80% of them had at least 1 puzzle clue. So I've done a lot in my time. And one thing that bugs me is when you're halfway done with a puzzle and then somethign comes up irl or you get disconnected and you have to restart the puzzle. It's happened to me several times. I don't see how allowing the puzzle to save after logout would affect the game negatively at all, it just helps treasure trails get a tiny bit of convenience in a demanding treasure trail.

PVP Worlds are great for making money on!
I alch while looting in pvp sometimes. I get lots of good pots from them (magic pots, range pots, super atks, etc) and some alchable goodies like mithril stuff. All the while I gain dp by sitting there alching away. Occasionally I get attacked but I just flip on protect from whatever and run like hell into the bank. If I'm in danger of dying, I just drop my money, nats, and alching items and come back for them after I die.

Time for armoury and weapons update for 120+ cb players?
You say the prices of spirit shields make you sick, but then you are willing to work your way to 100m to get a new armor piece? How would you create an armor set for high level players that both prevents low level players from using it and still isn't overpowered? Obviously simply throwing a high price tag on it won't work, the lower levels will have their methods of obtaining that amount. High requirements? That could work, but then high levels would expect their high-requirement items to be incredibly powerful and would not accept anything below insanely high bonuses. If Jagex found a compromise, I'm all for it. I'm a 115 with 30m banked and yet I wear a granite plate and d skirt because I don't think the multimillion gp armor pieces are worth it yet. I also use a d scimmy rather than a whip because the stat bonus difference is miniscule for the over 1m saved, the spec is actually worth something, and you can train str with it efficiently. D scim and rune defender is better than a sara sword for str training, I don't see why anyone would actually use the thing other than for waterfiends. So yeah, if Jagex were to create this update they'd have a lot of compromising to do to make sure that 1. High levels are not insanely overpowered 2. Melee isn't overpowered in the combat triangle 3. Buyers/obtainers of the armor are satisfied with the requirements and usefulness of the equipment. That's sort of hard to accomplish but knowing Jagex, they can figure out anything. If they create such a compromise, count me in to support it while I train vigorously to 120 combat.

About Timmy and the Hacker
Anyway, your email is totally spot-on. There's a reason this game is 13+. Not only because laws require it, but because gullible preteens are more likely to get their account stolen. I really wish reporters wouldn't just write articles like these without thorough research. This is like the fifth journalist who has said nothing but crap about Jagex. EDIT: I'm an idiot. I didn't know the link led to the article itself, i thought it was just the guy's email. I removed my initial ignorant comment.

A sobering picture... The 'Pale Blue Dot'.
How does the quote motivate you? Makes me feel hopeless :? I mean, what it's basically saying is that everything we work for is just to become more meaningful on the meaningless blue spec in the universe that we call home.

I was thinking "Tipit's most awesome tipiter" if that fits  Or maybe have my username be my post rank, just to confuse people.

Coin Drops -- Do You Pick Them up?
Whether you're a slayer, monster hunter, or just an adventurer, we all sooner or later stumble upon one of the most common yet overlooked drops in runescape: Coins. Almost every monster in runescape drops them, from the lowly goblin to the mighty General Graardor. But yet many players have different ways of treating them: some ignore every coin drop that's not worth a lot, and some pick drops worth anything more than a few hundred gp, and still some players pick up every coin drop they get if they can spare the inventory space. As a slayer of combat level 114 and 30m cash in my bank (not including items), I pick up 90% of the coin drops I get. With the exception of the 2-3gp drops from very weak monsters, I usually grab every coin drop I get. From dagannoths to gargoyles to metal dragons, I'm one of the few lv 100+ players who still picks up those little gold pieces lying on the ground. I don't see why I shouldn't, it's free money! Those coins add up. I usually get anywhere from 5-25k worth of coins alone from slayer tasks, and that can really total to something in the long run. So what do you do with your coins? Do you pick them up, or get choosy picking them up depending on the amount lying on the ground, or ignore them entirely?

say what!
There seems to be a hint in the message. Cerebellum= part of the brain. Perhaps they're going to do something with mind spells? How so? You could just flip on mage prayer, or teleport, and if your seriously pvping, I'm guessing you'll be prepared for any type of situation. 1. Many pures dont have mage prayer. 2. Many pures dont train mage. Especially low level pures. And besides, teleporting doesnt solve a problem or erase a threat. If someone is going to teleport every time they see a strong player, they'll be needing hundreds of law runes for the deed, and not to mention the time wasted walking to a pk spot only to teleport and walk back. I think members mage is fine as it is. But f2p needs work. Bind is the only freezing spell in f2p and its only good in team fights. Even then, a mage has to spend 80% of their time ready to bind someone rather than attacking them. I was a mage pker in f2p pvp for 5 months at 108 f2p combat, I know what I'm talking about. And a person has to be insane to go 1v1 pking with mage in pvp. You just will never get any kills, your robes leave you wide open to strong hits, you have no finishing moves, and you'll get the crap pjed out of you if you even try to bind someone and farcast.

Is this a glitch? Penguin in the wilderness... *wants* My first dragon drop ever. In a slayer task too! I came close to crapping myself, although its only 600k. Yes, that is a leaf-bladed sword. I'm a very frugal person, I haven't bought or used a whip in 2 years, always used my trusty d scim. And yes, I have no prayer pots. I just prayer flash at irons, I don't even need pots.

Ice blitz has a delay from the attack that lets you attack with melee quickly by "chasing" the spell as it approaches your target. It's excellent for combo's. Brunokiller has an epic video of AGS rushing in the Graveyard forum. He doesn't even use a second spec most of the time, he just uses AGS and blitz for a 2 hit k0. Here's the link: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=782289 From what it looks like, you basically have the spec set, then pot up. Then cast the spell and immediatly click "attack [player]" and you and the ice blitz will hit the target at virtually the same time. Then just quickly switch to the g maul and spec the crap out of whatever hp your foe has left. One day I'll master the technique (first I need all 99 combat stats -.- )

Waterfiends (Chaos Tunnels)
The problem with waterfiends is that they have high defence to everything but crush weapons. You can try chinning and although it's probably the best charm rate available, you'll only last so long before their combo of attacks takes you out. Ice bursting is probably a waste and suicide since mage armor's mage defence is lower than d'hide (assuming you're protecting from range, which you'd have to be an idiot to not use). So soloing them effectively hard to accomplish unless you're a maxed player looking for a faster slayer task. But at it's current state, it may still have its uses. 1. It offers a dangerous result for random teleports, making the CT a very dangerous place. One wrong teleport and you could take quite some damage in seconds. It helps keep the noobs out of the CT. 2. This might be a fun and unique idea for clan/tet events. Mass charm hunting with lootshare? Or even without it? THEN that could be effective chinning because damage is much more spread out. But I'm sure theres an alternative no one has thought of yet. What about the d hally and d 2h spec? That could dish out massive damage (but does d hally even have a crush option?). There has to be more to these waterfiends than scaring noobs and attracting maxed players.

Just How Gullible Can They Be?
I remember in the christmas event ('06?) where there was a christmas tree in varrock. Dozens of players claimed digging at the tree gave santas. Merchants took control of the place yelling "selling spades 5k!" and players of all combat and IQ levels dug repeatedly hoping for goodies. Good times, good times.

Next Language Hint?
spoilt. It must be an anagram for an unheard of language! Jagex is finally listening to the pleas of citizens in the European highlands with internet access to make an entire game cater to them! Garphesnthalogen!

16th February 2009 - Your RuneScape Questions Answered
Probably. In some recent tif events some J mods from Community Management department have showed up to say hello. I'm not sure how they could imagine to "work" with fansites -- ask them their opinions? Design massive new content for entire groups of people like fansites can partake in? Maybe the first runescape GROUP quest?

Soul Wars Worry
To stop the world hoppers, a good idea may be to have it so that after hopping worlds, you cannot join a game for a few minutes. It's similar to the thing they have in SC where if you leave in the middle of a game, you cannot re-enter a game for 2 minutes. My concern is that now someone with incredible patience and absolutely no life could get a lv 3 99 slayer after months of work and ruin the name of the untrimmed slayer cape. Although if one was to have the patience and lack of a life to get 7 slayer exp per 20 minutes and eventually getting 99 after months of effort, they deserve all the recognition they get. So I suppose there isn't a real problem there.

Two click spells? [lock please]
Believe it or not, there are players with old mouses who have to set the options to everything right click since they can't have a different right and left click. Sucks right? So don't make pointless threads pointing out something that very few people care about.
-
Anyone find something a bit off in this picture...
Does this thread really need to exist? First of all theres a sticky for images. Secondly very few users enjoy these "find the hidden glitch/joke" images that simply take up pages of the sticky or the wrongly-posted threads with people speculating what could be wrong.

Confirmed List of Runescape PVP Drops?
When I pked in f2p I usually got green d'hide (any piece of the set), rune armor (you can get any piece of the set), strength potions (I got up to 2 dose), half-pizzas, trout, swordfish, lobsters, green d'hide coif (uncharged), wizard hat, power ammies, and a few other common f2p necessities. A not on the food: it seems like the better-healing food drop you get, the less quantity you get. When I pked trout I usually got over 10 of them. But when I pked swordies or lobs in f2p, I got no more than 4.
