  1. Some of these gold merchers are scams, others are just greatly underpaying. The idea is that they buy your gold (because gold has been increasing in value), melt it, and sell it for more. They're merchants. thats all it is. A few of them are genuinely scams where they take your gold and run, but the legit ones usually just take your gold that you don't want anymore and give you some profit for it.
  2. Wait, so the idea of rwting via ooglog shop is to pay someone to work on your account? I hope no player is stupid enough to do such a thing (it's incredibly risky of getting haxed), and I hope jagex knows there are plenty of other ways someone can make money by paying someone else to do their dirty work. Flax picking, tar grabbing, everything that involves picking an item off the ground and selling it.
  3. It looks like a nice update for fansites and clans, but how this will have any use to the average scaper other than a bit of amusement is beyond me. I doubt these things will have practical use, but hey, they sound quite fun.
  4. meh, desperate pvp trickers will just move to f2p and use bronze daggers or bronze arrows with noob bow and full rune armor or some weak weapon. Pjers are way easier to handle in f2p. You cant get 2 hit ko'd. Lets face it, jagex will never be able to take out pvp tricking unless they remove all noob weaponry alltogether or put a limit to fight durations.
  5. I once got 11 ranarrs from a patch and celebrated like I had become Jesus. My friend then said it was nothing new and that 18 was around the max. I average like 6 per seed. What is the max anyway?

[hide=Simo Hayha] [/hide] Finland is a pretty bad [wagon] nation. The winter war was their shining moment: They were severely outnumbered and fought on skis to defend their homeland. Many citizens who didn't fight in the war allegedly burned their own houses down or placed bombs in the chimneys before evacuating to prevent Russians from using the houses for shelter. I really wish I was Finnish just to brag about how badass my nation was during the Winter War. I really don't want to get on Finland's bad side now.
  7. Everyone in my school is making a mountain out of a molehill. Every time someone sneezes or coughs, there is always that one ignorant or joking moron who goes "holy crap he has the swine flu". I don't see the big deal about it. It's not always fatal, and there are some treatments for the symptoms (not necessarily cures, but treatments). Mexico just is a bit too poor to treat every victim, so instead airports and public areas are being closed and hospitals are being overrun and flu victims are being quarantined.

My friend would always have the perfect one that he used whenever the entire class was laughing at something during Biology. He would tell anyone sitting next to him while they were laughing "Hey, you know what's funnier than a mushy banana?" The laughing individual would reply "No, what is it? *giggle*" Then he would suddenly put on an incredibly melancholic face and say "AIDS." Another friend of mine would use a rather twisted up version of unhumor that somehow led to every listener cracking up. He would randomly approach someone he knew and say (with a totally serious face) "hey, making fun of disease victims is not cool". The person would stare at him dumbfounded for a second, then he would continue "You know why? Because I suffer from GENITAL WARTS". He would put extra emphasis on the genital warts part and practically yell those two words, but still maintain the serious face. Of course the listener would be going "what the hell?" but can't resist cracking up anyway. These kind of jokes only work with an ideal setup. If you just randomly go up to someone and ask them one of these unjokes and give them the nonpunch line, they would stare at you like you just told them that you were a Neonazi. You need to pick a time where the victim would feel like a jackass for expecting a good joke, because very few of these jokes actually work on random people with no setup to provide for a good background for unhumor.
  9. I was thinking perhaps Socrates for his contributions to philosophy, or one of the brilliant ancient greek mathematicians like Archimedes.
  10. First of all, it doesn't matter if it was "just ibuprofren". It's a drug, and believe it or not there are school rules that exist that prevent any drug use at school, even medicinal and less harmful drugs without doctor permission. But as for the strip searching, there should be more restrictions on that. In my district they require that when security at my high school strip searches a person, it must be done in a private area with no bystanders (office or bathroom usually), and the principle, head of security, and student's parents are all present during the search to assure that no misconduct was being performed. School executives are not trained in strip searching and I don't think they have any right to do so regardless of the situation. And there was barely any evidence to support the strip search. The only thing that was pointing to her was another student ratting on her. Did the school officials involved even THINK for once second that maybe the student who blamed Savana just did it to pass the blame to someone else? There was NO reason for a strip search here.
  11. Ouch.. another quest with 70+ requirement(s)? I hope that such a requirement is strength or defence or something, because I absolutely despise skilling. If the requirements like these are seen more frequently and if Mark's wish of 80-90 skill req's comes true, the quest cape might be one of the hardest cape to obtain eventually.
  12. I think I'm gonna stick to abstinance for now, just because it's a new cure. I really hope this doesn't get into every young kid's head "oh, they're coming close to a cure for HIV. I can have sex now". But in my Biology class we were just discussing the possibilities of uses for non-coding parts of the genome, and apparently this is what can happen. It's amazing, the new uses of the human genome discovered every so often. I hope this can lead to a promising cure to HIV some day.
  13. Ugh, I'm incredibly weak at weightlifting in general. At age 15 and 160 lbs and 5'10" I can only bench 65lbs and leg-press 120. Although my calfs (calves?) are pretty beastly compared to most of my friends, I can calf-lift 140lbs. Although that's probably because I'm so big that my calfs need extra strength to keep my body upright. I'm not sure if 140 is impressive, but I think it's the closest thing I'll ever get to feeling buff.
  14. wait, so how many cores are there supposed to be? There's only supposed to be 1 at a time and no other can spawn until the current one dies. But somehow every time one was killed it was revived and another one spawned and then we had 5 of them. They are a real pain in the [wagon] when there's just 1 of them because they hop around and everyone adjacent to it gets their hp drained and given to the beast. But when there's 5 of them and they're all hopping madly sucking the life out of every teammate? Chaos ensued. I'm amazed that nobody died then, but some ran out immediatly or teled. We then called a retreat and waited for them to dissappear before we went back in.
  15. My corp team got crashed by a glitch of multiple cores. We were forced to evacuate because there were too many for the rangers to handle and we were giving the corp more health than we were hurting him for.
  16. In many webcomics, the drawings don't have to be all that great provided that we can understand what's going on and that it's humorous. An example id Cyanide & Happiness. Not the best pictures, but the humor kills me every time. I encourage you to keep up the comics by maybe working on adding detail without subtracting from humor. You don't need to be a pro artist for webcomics, but some detail would be a nice touch.
  17. They haven't even planned anything for the 200th quest. Why make a big deal from digging out their secrets when they have done virtually nothing yet? Mod Tim himself said he still wonders what would be done for quest 200, and that he's not sure if there would be a quest like RFD for some time.
  18. The Holocaust was not the only genocide that happened in the last century. Rwandan Genocide, Armenian Genocide, both involved the killing that one group of people determined not contributing to their country. And both killed less than 1 million. And there are still others. I find this incredibly ironic that we're nearing the end of Holocaust Awareness month and all active humans look to the future and say "never again" and now we can even suggest the idea of killing hundreds of thousands of people with a disibility just to rid it from the future. Look up Down's syndrome. It's not always an inherited disease. Its Trisomy 21. A mistake in the gene copying where the offspring gets an extra set of chromosome 21. A mutation. It can happen to anyone, even the healthiest parents in the world (although the mother's age has a factor in the chances of Down Syndrome). Even if we killed every human with Down Syndrome on this planet, we'd still have many being born every day and cannot truly eradicate the disease.
  19. What? When you click it the message appears in your chatbox saying "coming soon". Someone had to have taken the time to write that in and connect it to the clicking of the rest option. I think it was an intentional leak and not a fail.
  20. Thank god, when I saw "anon" in the thread title I was afraid we'd have another 4chan thread on here poisoning our beloved forums. Anyway, Jagex, to some degree, has taken some small measures in preventing total addiction. If I'm not mistaken there is a 6 hour limit to playing runescape before you must log out, at least for a few seconds. There are plenty of knowledge base pages that emphasize doing some activity more than runescape and stopping for a break every 15 mins, and that Runescape will always be there when they return. Obviously Jagex is not going to go out of their way to prevent addictions. There are companies and advocate groups that do that job. And they're not going to ruin their business by warning constantly of addiction and taking extra measures to prevent "no-lifers". But it's not like they're promoting that you play for hours on end. That is a choice the player makes to spend extra time to make their character better.
  21. I think what you all are saying is absolutely sick and twisted and ruining whatever dignity this world has left to the rights of human life. There's a reason that those who support abortion are called "pro-choice" and not "pro-abortion". The mother has a choice to abort her baby, she is under no obligation to do so. You people claim that the baby does nothing and therefore the "products and services are better off used elsewhere". I can't believe anyone has the audacity to say that load of crap. What are we going to become if we begin to start debating over what lives are worth living and what lives are "wasting resources"? Should we get rid of the handicapped then, because America should not have to cater to them? There are countries that are in a far worse state right now. My mom's sister in Pakistan has a speech and learning impediment and was denied an education in a proper school because her teachers couldn't adapt to extra teaching for her. And in Pakistan, it's incredibly hard to find a tutor for such special cases. She lives with my grandmother in Karachi and has never gotten an education beyond middle school. She's been trying to get into Australia to live with my mom's other sister but the Australian government has repeatedly denied her access. Now she's trying to move in with us and can hopefully have an easier arrival. Should we just have people like her and the other handicapped executed just because they waste the services of a special teacher who could have easily taken a different job that benefitted the country more? I can't believe anyone can say something as insensitive and barbaric as killing a human because it wastes resources. If people actually begin to act on such claims then pretty soon we'd end up close to the Nazis in getting rid of human wastes of flesh.
  22. Why is everyone so concerned over whether or not the mother keeps her child? I'm amazed she can still keep her religion, if it were me I might have been sick for days and cursed the heavens for giving me such a sick child. I don't see whats wrong with her keeping it. The baby can't feel pain so it's not suffering by being alive (it's not even conscious) and it will probably not live very long anyways. If she wants to use her money to sustain the child for however long she can, that's her business. Where is this world going to? First giving mother's the choice to kill their baby before birth, and now basically deeming her stupid for not choosing to kill the child? Who are any of you to determine what life is worth living? This mother is probably going through agony just to see her child in that state. All she has left is her God. She doesn't need everyone on the internet telling her she's an idiot to keep her baby alive when she has already made the choice to do so.
  23. They're a species? Hmm... I was always under the impression that they were a cult of some sort. I mean, Hazelmere after Eye of Glouphrie mentioned "the Mahjarret deceiver" who is Lucien. How does one deceive a species? And if anyone paid attention during WGS, the 8 warriors who assembled to fight Lucien teleported into lv 40 wild, and after the battle the two survivors teleported out. We all know that no one can teleport past 30 wild (unless you use Jennica's ring to enter a spirit world portal and then teleport from there), so how did these guys do it? It seems like something terrible happened in the Wilderness in the old days and someone prevented newcomers from being able to teleport in. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you try to teleport past 20 wild you receive a message "ancient magic prevents you from teleporting past lv 20 wilderness", and when you use the wildy obelisks you get a chatbox message saying "ancient magic teleports you around the wilderness" or something like that. Plus the only deep wildy teleports from outside the wild are ancient magics. I'm probably saying what is already obvious, but I don't think we've seen the last of Zaros. And I'm thinking there will be another quest involving Summer's family too, because the ring you get is tied with revenants and if I remember correctly the Mahjarret had something to do with revenants too. And if we toss in the barrows brothers in this future quest? Holy crap, thats one spectacular adventure.
  24. Umm... which country has more Runescape players? Brazil or Portugal? I have no idea. Nor do I know the difference between Brazillian Portugese and Portugese Portugese. Is it like English English and American English where it's just the accent and a few odd words and slang? Or an entirely different dialect? I'm just incredibly curious. As for Dutch and Finnish forums, it's a great addition. I know that actually a lot of people in runescape are Dutch and quite some are Finnish and both have probably been waiting for this update for a long time. I think Spanish should be the next language after these. Although Spanish players aren't a huge player group, there are some out there from Mexico, Spain, and South America. Plus there are plenty of American players who are learning Spanish (I am one of them  ) and it would be nice to have a server that I can somewhat understand. Not a big necessity, but it makes me feel bilingual even though I'm far from it.
  25. Note to self: never be stupid when working for a commercial giant. I love how domino's was instant in distancing themselves from their own two stupid workers and try to file a lawsuit just to show they're still innocent. It's pretty reasonable, but it's still a painful reminder on why YouTube is just not the place to brag about committing a crime.
