  1. What's weird is that they don't even require the volunteers to be a runescape player... we could get random gaming kids off the street without the faintest clue of the game that is rating content that WE have to go through. What I can only wonder is what kind of content could be so big that they'd need testers, yet so unfit to continue any previous runescape updates that the testers don't even need to be active players. Puzzling...
  2. Title made me lose the game -.- Anyway, I get most of my enjoyment from combat. Either training combat skills (119 cmb), training my 85 slayer, or going in pvp to skill or pk in welfare.
  3. I think I'll enjoy this update a lot since I was frequently involved in no-armor deathmatchs with my target. I'd say at least half the fights we'd be interrupted by a random player who dds spec's one of us thinking we will give him loot if we die. Buddy, if it's a dds dm, chances are we're only risking the dagger, and that will be protected. When I get spec'd in the middle of a fight, I then am at the mercy of my target. He can choose to be the nice guy and allow both of us to run to safety and restart the fight at full hp, or sometimes he decides to be an [wagon] and spec me right after the pjer specs me and gets an easy kill if I'm low.
  4. I would REALLY like #9 to be an english word, things like that happen to me and everyone all the time and yet we cannot describe it unless we take up a full sentence. The others are pretty dang cool too. I would contribute more but I'm afraid I am not fluent in any language other than English and I've just started learning Spanish.
  5. The boy scouts aren't that big where I live. We have no advertisements, no roaming recruiters, and nobody I know in my town is one or knows one. If I were a kid again I think I'd want to try the boy scouts just because it sounds like a fun place. But I think it's a bit late for me, even though I'm still a teen I already have my days set with school and extracurricular things.
  6. I'm not sure if it's possible, but if you were shoved into a huge tank full of salt, could all the water in your body slowly drift out of you because of osmosis or whatever the process is? I'm no science expert, but I just thought I'd shove that idea out there. And just to add to the torture, you'd have to have your eyes closed for every minute you're still alive in the pit of salt unless you'd want to endure agony in your eyes while you die slowly. And while we're on the topic of hearts giving out at the worst moments, it reminds me of an old west tale that was apparently true. A renowned police officer was arrested for some crime I've forgotten and sentenced to death by a shooting team. Now the men on the shooting team were his friends and didn't want to hurt him, but the officer didn't know that, he assumed he was going to die. So when the shooting team opened fire, each of them intentionally missed, but the poor officer's blood was so filled with adrenaline and his brain was so panicked since he was convinded the bullets were entering his body and causing damage that his heart gave out entirely and he died, even though no bullet ever touched him.
  7. Meh, now players will just flood the mage arena dd's because it's possible to afk there with a tiny bit of attention given... Jagex finally stopped bolting, but there are still a few methods of semi-afk ep'ing that people will use. Players will always discover ways to get Jagex off their tails, at least temporarily, and Jagex will just keep updating in a vain chase to get them. Pretty good, but hopefully cheapo players will ignore this method since death will cost you your black d'hide. Because if this method catches on, Morrigan's javs will shoot up. BTW, are they guarenteed to hit the ground or do they ocasionally dissappear like other arrows/bolts do?
  8. 2 year old bump ftw? I thought it was a recent thread until I saw people who posted but haven't been to the general forum in ages, then I realized the bump. But I supposed the bumper contributed something, so I don't think it's illegal. Anyway, I don't think many legends have actually been forgotten because their stories have continued to have been passed around even today because players love to be a part of the history of runescape players by telling of great players of old days. Makes everyone feel like a veteran even if they'd only heard of the "legendary player" from a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend.
  9. Haha, are claws crashing again? I feel sorry for those poor claw owners/buyers/sellers who kepe getting thrown around by Jagex's updates. First when prot items was removed the claws began crashing and sold for 90% junk in w2, then suddenly they make the +1 item worlds and they go for 40-100m with junk in w2. Now again claws lose some purpose and they're probably crashing again. I think it's safe to say any sane merchant might wan to think twice before attempting to merch claws again.
  10. No...no it does not. +15 Ranged Attack and +10 Magic defense. I don't know if you can count, but son, that to me says that it strengthens rangers against mages. lol. Most mages don't rely solely on magic, as it's best not to. Because this amulet doesn't give bonuses to other defensive stats, it makes them more vulnerable to melee and ranged attacks. If they, the magicians, do not bring a melee or ranged weapon, they should be losing because they are opposite the triangle. Another +5 ranged attack with lesser defensive stats seems like a major drawback to me. The problem here is that I don't think it's fair that the mages HAVE to bring another combat syle in order to be deadly. Meleers and rangers can easily destroy their opponent with just their respective combat style; they don't need to keep switching. But mages still need to watch their backs because now rangers are even more deadly to them, meleers can still hybrid them, and the only way you're going to get a kill with 100% magic attacks is if you're in a clan or miles away from a safespot/bank/tele spot where your target has nowhere to escape. Mages have always drawn the short stick, and this update throws them in the dust once again. I'm slightly dissappointed that Jagex didn't make the aquanite's drop more slayer-based. I was hoping to get an item that would actually make range/mage slaying easier, like the equivalent of a slayer helm for the two styles. Right now melee is and seemingly always will be the dominant combat choice for slayers with range as an occasional backup for monsters that are tougher but can be safespotted. Few players actually train slayer with mage simply because it's slow and costly, and I am still awaiting an update that changes that. I'm sure slayer would be a way more popular skill if all combat types had their advantages in it, but right now slayer is all about damage efficiency since it's so slow to train and thus mage is left out almost entirely from the skill (unless you actually take the slayer master's reccomendation of maging demons or metal dragons, but not many players choose that).
  11. Wow, an excellent-looking bundle of updates if you ask me. If I wasn't on vacation with the family right now I'd definitely be at the new slayer monsters slaying my [wagon] off until I got that ammy. How rare of a drop is it anyways? Love the first part, no more getting pjed while you farcast! Maybe now mages will have an easier time pking! Plus, tag-teaming in single wild is gone. I'm so happy about this. It's the second part I don't think is very helpful. It hurts pkers a whole lot while it barely does anything to stop 76kers, pjers, rushers, etc. None of those people tele frequently in pvp in the first place, but normal pkers will do it very often. Some will either stop pking entirely or will risk a lot less meaning that the price difference between the amountthey risk and the reward from loot is even greater, thus adding to the money that's already inflating the game. I mean, was thts really necessary? Unless Jagex seriously thought teleing from a fight was the biggest problem with pvp right now, and it's far from that. The real problem lies in the high-reward low-risk players like rushers, 76kers, etc. And most of these updates do little to stop them, they just make their job a bit more inconvenient.
  12. No pic or proof. Not my pic, but here's a poorly cropped one from some player. It's very easy to google these things, you know.
  13. I hate my dad's snoring. I can hear him 3 rooms down in the night, and it sounds like he's being strangled. Oh, and I hate twilight obsessors.

Well Today I arrived in Greenville, SC on my way home from family vacation. We were in Myrtle Beach and this is our first stop on our way home to Chicago. I'm staying in a nice hotel that gave free cookies and evening snacks!
  15. What the hell are rules 1 and 2 anyway? I know 34 and 35 (unfortunatly) but the first two are a mystery to me. Do they involve never discussing 4chan or something?
  16. I can understand outrage over a celebrity who got a weak sentence just for being famous (i.e. Martha Steward and Paris Hilton), but this man already did his time, he payed his fines, he left the NFL in disgrace in front of his fans. Now he's gone through all that and gets a second chance, and STILL no one is happy with his punishment? I mean, does anyone think there can be a limit for how much a man has to endure before animal-lovers are satisfied? I can't believe people are actually putting human life at the same level as dogs. He did his punishment fair and square and he will always continue to live his life disgraced because of his crime, I think we can stop giving him hell at least for now. If he says he has no regrets, that's a different story.
  17. That can't happen, elevators are made so that even if the cables snap they'll stop, I saw a tv show on the discovery channel about it once. I'm not talking about the cables snapping. I'm not sure how they do it, but some people (kids in particular) somehow manage to accidently fall down the elevator shaft, and land on the bottom, then the elevator comes down and crushes them. I've seen it several times on the news. I think it has to do with the doors malfunctioning by opening up before the elevator arrives, and they don't pay attention so they just walk in and plunge down the empty chasm, then the late elevator comes down and finishes the job with a ton of crushing force on their poor body, all because they didn't look before they stepped.
  18. Life_hated or something like that, a level 2 account lol. Forgot how it happened, some kind of obscure punishment in RSC or something. He had kids following him everywhere thinking he was a J mod. Quite amusing. And I have heard of several accounts that had all their stats wiped from an old punishment in RSC, but were still allowed access to guilds and things. Would be quite odd to see a level 3 in the Hero's guild, but it's apparently happened.
  19. Bee. so when you say "/b/lackout" or another wort where /b/ replaces the letter B, do you say "blackout" or "bee-lackout"? It's always confuzzled me.
  20. I think falling down an elevator shaft, then getting crushed by the elevator would be a really crappy way to die. One of mankind's ultimate floor-scaling conveniences becomes your nightmare when it crushes you at the bottom of a deep pit. Your screams bounce uselessly off the walls of the shaft, and ultimately your death is caused by an unsuspecting old lady who wants to go to the ground floor to leave the building, completely unaware that the button she pressed to go down has completely sealed your fate.
  21. Sick, horrible, everything bad you can imagine in one sad story. And to top it all off, Nancy Grace gets on the case. Freakin' wonderful. If the girl's life wasn't already ruined from rape then abandonment from her family, it certainly turned to crap when Nancy Grace decided to get involved. And I never heard of 9 and 10 year olds getting involved in rape, but I guess in this society there is no age limit to sick crimes like this. Whatever religion the family is, it won't matter, so I think you can guys should drop the whole discussion on what religion they could be. There's no excuse for the crap her family gave to her.
  22. I am always surprised when someone on Forsakenmage or back then in Tipitchat/Lightning revealed that they were females. There's quite a bunch of them. For weeks I was under the impression that Lightning was male. It seems like the old days of runescape had a lot more female population, but it's probably because a lot mkore females rose through the ranks to become famous. Rab was female, right? 1st player to join runescape. A lot of the top players and well-known p mods are female. Like 10 chat mods in Forsakenmage chat are female, including Forsakenmage herself. The reason that women on this game have such a bad rep is because of all the men who pose as women either for the lulz or, back when trade limits were nonexistant, to get boyfriends who gave them free stuff. It seems like tipit has a rather large female population. I'm not sure why that is. It always gives me quite a surprise to see that someone in the pictures thread in OT whom I've long thought to be male is actually a woman. Happens to me a lot these days.
  23. I don't think making the world round would be a good idea, it would add a big limit to the size of new areas to be added since they must fit into the globe rather than the world map simply expanding to incorporate it. All new locations would either have to be small to fit into empty areas, small islands rather than giant landmasses, or underground. For a while it might be cool to have the world as truly round, but in the long run when Jagex has added more and more updates, it might end up being crammed.
  24. eh, I'm generally a cautious person in pvp, I've learned never to accept random clan recruitments in the middle of the wildy unless the person is mass advertising to get a big clan. Because when people come up to you personally and ask to join, it's almost always a scam.
  25. If there was, I would NOT like to be seen by all the cool/bullying kids walking into the theatre alone to see the movie. If this movie comes out, jagex might have lawsuits up their [wagon] from kids who got beaten up for entering the Runescape theatre. Although thinking of that is a rather funny prospect...
