  1. I get incredibly annoyed when I'm at some kind of assembly (meeting, church, school gathering, classroom, anything with a large group of people) and EVERYONE turns to a certain direction when they hear a noise that distracts them. Like when we're in class and the door opens and everyone just HAS to see who walked into the room, even if it's just a kid returning from the bathroom or another teacher who needed to borrow some supplies. Even at church when someone drops a kneeler too quickly or a hymnal on the ground and it makes a noise and the whole dang congregation turns around to see who caused it. I just hate how people get distracted so damn easily.
  2. Picture was much more shocking than the interview itself, I never knew what Andrew looks like because if I'm not mistaken his face was covered with a mask in the old picture of the Jagex paintball trip. Interesting read though.
  3. The thing is that if classes were part of the game, they should have been added right from the start rather than now in the big swing of things. I mean, would the classes share the same runescape world or would each class have it's own world with its own cities, quests, skills, materials, armor, etc? There would have to be mega amounts of new content before this update is even worthwhile and rather than Jagex focusing one powerful update to all players in the game, they'd have to make far smaller updates for each race to keep them all balanced. Most quests would have to be rewritten to allow every race to play, and some quests would have to be blocked out entirely to certain races because of whose side the player is on. I mean, would an elf player have access to Tirranwn from the start or would he have to go through every elf quest (from a completely different non-human perspective) to get to his own homeland? There's a lot that needs to be thought about before this mega change to runescape can be put into perspective.
  4. I guess a sport like volleyball or basketball just because I love them both, although it might ruin the fun of the game if i suddenly had the skills beyond everyone else in my school league and didn't need practice and steroid claims start arising and everyone questions where I ngot such skills from. It would be cool for about a week before people started being either jealous, angry, suspicious, or a mix of the three.
  5. I'm on jagex's side of this, I think it is totally wrong to purposely fix minigames just to exploit rewards. Common sense would say if they minigames are crap, the obvious way to act is not to play it, rather than to try to fix the crap game to exploit its non-crap rewards. Minigames are for the spirit of competition and yet players choose to skip the competition and instead choose to create ways to screw competing and give everyone rewards instead. And about the GOP thing, who said no one was against 50-50 GOP? I've been against it and just because I haven't made a thread on RSOF to scream my views only to get flamed by game-fixing supporters, it doesn't mean nobody else is against it. Since when is there an ethical reason to fix ANY game in the history of sports and games? Just because players support something, it doesn't make it right. I hate standing along and watching players exploit these games to reap their own benefit. And on merch clans, just because nothing has been done so far it doesn't mean nothing ever will be done. I'm hoping that Jagex will eventually crack down on them, but other than banning forum threads (which would do nothing, they'd just keep making threads or move cc's if the first cc is closed), they can't do any ingame action right away without first considering what effect it would have on the economy.
  6. I developed the storyline and features of an entire videogame in my mind, with characters and plot twists and game controls and everything. I doubt I'll ever share it; it's a rather trivial game, but I just enjoy having something so vast and creative to expand on when I have nothing better to think about.
  7. Don't know him, but there is a sticky thread where you can post his name and see if anyone has seen him lately, you should try there instead of using a new thread :
  8. That was dumb. :wall: I really hope they had the money there on accident.. Everytime I try to get into the waterfall, I fall off the waterfall 2-3 times. Misclicking and starting to swim, just clicking the tree, forgetting rope..its horrible. lol. I know its not as bad as some of these others, but it gets really annoying. I believe he was one of those kids who believed in the rumor that the more you risk when getting ep, the better your drops will be when you get a kill. If you ask me it was just a load of crap made by pkers who wanted insane money from idiot ep'ers.
  9. Closest thing i've gotten to an epic bonus drop, although with ammy's rapidly dropping price, it might not be very cool. And apologies for jpeg, I guess i forgot to change files when I saved the screenie. This also seems to prove the above theory false that bonus drops always come with the same drops, since plenty of drops have been recorded from aquanites with only clue/other drop or only range ammy and it doesn't mean both have to come together. It's all about the luck.
  10. The question for those who were waiting to sell wasn't what it would crash to, but WHEN it would crash. The drop came totally unexpectedly. It was continuing to go up with not even the slightest slowing down in increase, and suddenly overnight just tumbled. I'm not even sure how that could have happened that every seller unanimously agreed to dump them at min rather than continuing the rise, unless a sole person with a lot of slayed ammies decided to dump and accidently (or intentionally) screwed the whole economy on the ammy. Everyone knew a crash was immenant, but no one knew when. I kept it expecting to see at least a slight slowness that I could take advantage of before the crash, but I guess everyone did the same and freaked out all at once.
  11. a very fascinating read, I joined runescape in '05 so I had little knowledge of the old days. I never realized how annoying skilling was
  12. I'm Catholic and I consider myself religious. In october (the month of the rosary, although many catholics sadly seem to overlook it) my family and I say the rosary every day, and every day outside of october we say a few prayers after dinner and when we go to bed we (or at least I) say a few prayers alone before I go to sleep. Once a month my family goes with a cultural religious group to say the rosary. And of course our family goes to church every sunday. I get really annoyed at people who bash prayer mainly because some of them only know about how many people don't get results. I don't think prayer is about instant gratification; it's more to do with a better afterlife. If you pray simply to get things you want, of course most of the time it's going to go unanswered. God isn't exactly a genie in a bottle. Prayer to me is more about thanksgiving that I have a life I'm confortable with, not a beg or bargain with God. But in the afterlife it's sure as hell (no pun intended) going to make a difference when we face God and He knows how often you've shown your thankfullness, or how often you've expected him to answer your requests. To be totally honest, I don't have answer to why people in 3rd world countries pray for peace or an end to poverty only to end up dead the next day. I don't know everything there is about God's motives, but faith isn't about knowing everything. I can only trust that God his plans, and worry about myself and how God sees me.
  13. I pool in loads of luck money from slayer. That's where I'd say 80% of my bank worth comes from: slayer, and the clue scrolls I get from slayer. A few days ago I got ranger boots (8.5m sold) from a level 2 clue, then I got a sara plate from a level 3 on the same day, then a whip drop on the same day. A few days before this epic luck I got a range ammy and then a sara dhide top from clue the day after. That particular week was one of the luckiest in my career and gave me enough money to buy bandos armor (although now I must wait for bandos to crash). I like the luck factor in the game. It actually makes slayer a random moneymaking skill rather than other stable moneymaker skills to be the end-all for money pooling.
  14. I got a range ammy as well and was trying to wait to sell it at it's peak. Now I regret not selling it earlier, it's stuck in the GE now for me. I made the mistake of expectinng the hype to be like every other new item:it shoots up to a price beyond all reasonability, and then crashes. I didn't expect it to crash at 3m. Sure, it's stats aren't as good as the fury, but players were paying 10m with junk for one and it IS the best range attack in the game, I expected it to go much higher before crashing. I disagree with everyone who called me a fool for waiting, the crash came a lot earlier than expected and there was no way I could see it coming so quickly.
  15. Looks cook imo, I don't see why people are making a huge deal out of it. It's not like the ads are taking up room that was used for something important, all it held was little drawings of the new updates. Good move by Jagex, they probably got a crapload of money from this considering it takes a giant amount of space on a website viewed by hundreds of thousands per day. And for people who aren't seeing the image, I'm in the US so maybe it could be US-only advertising.
  16. I really think Jagex needs to take action against merchants, not simply encouraging players to avoid them. They said the same thing for 26king but nothing changed till Jagex stepped in with more updates. But I guess Jagex has to play it cautiously, they don't want another pvp update where it fixes one problem and causes 5 others. Especially with most of the runescape economy lying in the balance, an aggressive and sudden update from Jagex could put a slight dent in merching clans but they will find a way around it, and players will have to suffer the consequences of such an update. I'm hoping that if Jagex isn't going to take action right away that they at least start PLANNING a fight with these clans. Things like these can't go without response from Jagex. Nothing grinds my gears more than a merchant clan attacking one item and it reverberates on many other items. As someone else said, iron ore may be shooting up because cannonballs were being merched, thus affecting steel bars and the ores that make it, and in turn will probably affect items that are smithed from steel like armor (not like they were a huge part of the economy anyway, but still).
  17. Sailing is one big joke, you know that right? As for a prayer update; I don't really think we need one. Prayer is good the way it is now. I have to disagree. With the highest prayer at a mere level 70, there's little incentive to train further other than making spirit shields and having prayer last longer. A lot of players simply go to 70 for piety and grave blessing and then stop training entirely. I think a few more powerful prayers could be useful to make the skill worthwhile.
  18. Live Q&A is beginning, MMG already answered one question: Oh joy. More changes to the magic GRAPHICS but not to the skill itself. Fantastic.
  19. Yeah darklord I think you missed the entire point of the thread. Reread the first post #-o Oh and welcome to tipit. To thread owner: unfortunatly i do not have any pics saved, but I would like to know: did Jagex even give a reason why they deleted them? Did they just want to save bandwidth or something?
  20. Although I dislike old bumps, I might as well contribute. I ban Steels, Irons, Warped terrorbirds, and Waterfiends. I also cancel skeletal wyverns. Pretty much the really slow tasks that need a lot of supplies, regardless of the money earned. I go for the good experience, the money comes eventually through clue scrolls.
  21. But from what I heard, MMG said they weren't planning a new elf installment for this year. Unless they are giving us a hint way in advance, I doubt we should be looking foreward to Priffridnas (sp?) or epic rewards right away. But I don't see why the hint was needed. Unless Jagex decided to release the quest this year, there was no need to give us a hint for something we knew was going to happen in the future. Perhaps they DID go back on their plans and decide to write up a new elf quest?
  22. Ohai dragoon. Lets answer some questions, shall we? I'm not that pro at anything, but I'll do my best [hide=my noob answers]If you think I can pull off some boss group trips to help aid the cash flow, which boss(es) should I go to, what method should I use, and what inventory/equipment will I need? -You probably might not want to trust my answer because I'm not a pro at gwding, but you could try starting with to some masses at any boss (bandos is probably an easy mass) to get a foothold in boss hunting, see which one you like best or one that is easiest for your budget, then attend normal team trips. The good part about masses is that you can gain some lsp while getting experienced in how to hunt that boss. Your supplies won't dry quickly because there are loads of other people to take damage besides you, and you might get lucky and score something nice. Once you gain experience in boss hunting, choose your favorite. The easiest is said to be bandos so you can try going there for a bit, a cheapish and very effective setup that I like to use is full Veracs (unless you'd prefer to wear good armor and borrow a godsword). There are plenty of guides for the proper setup for bandos. If I should work on getting rune defender, what's the fastest ticket earner at Warrior's Guild without throwing my atk/str/def terribly out of sync? -Attacking animated armor sets is said to be the fastest. Choose the attack styles to fight them according to the ways you want your stats balanced. If I should work on summoning for bunyips before trying anything, what's the fastest way to 68 from 63, preferably without losing cash? -I don't think its possible to break even with summoning, but in my opinion the best thing is bloated leeches. They cost a lot of spirit shards (117) but the exp they give saves you a lot of money compared to using twice the amount in gold or green charm pouches. They require crimson charms, so if you can rack up around 1.3k crims from slayer (the cheapest way to get charms), you're set. The 2nds aren't too expensive, raw beef. You can run from the bank in ooglog to the meat seller right across and buy the beef for a bit cheaper than GE price (which is good because it's very hard to buy beef in the ge) and you'll have all the meat you need in around 15minutes. If I should play PC to work on full Void, which set am I after (range?), and how long can I expect 1000-ish points to take me? -The best estimates say that getting the points for full void is about 15hrs, and range is pretty good followed by melee. Range can be used in a lot of places while melee is only good at corp beasts, hallying, and in combat where you take no damage (like praying against monsters). The problem with the last one is that if you're doing it for slayer, you're better off with a slayer helm and good def armor. If I should get fire cape, what inventory and equipment should I use? (inventory is probably covered, thanks Bacon) How long will it take me at my given levels? -This I can't advise you on, I have yet to get a fire cape myself. If I should need to do several of these things, what's top priority? I think the rune defender because it won't take too long and is very useful, followed by getting the 68 summ, then using wartortoise (67 summ) at gwd. You could squeeze fire cape before GWD if you want, and void isn't really a huge priority imo. Lastly, slightly off-topic, what exactly is prayflashing, just flicking on and off fast enough that it doesn't drain? -Exactly. With good timing (like that which I possess) you can do entire slayer tasks without using a single prayer point and without taking damage (with pray melee flash) unless you mess up once or twice and get hit. I only pray melee flash on tough monsters like metal dragons, wyvernsm and black demons. For all other tasks I prefer piety flash so that I can do some extra damage and finish the task a lot faster.[/hide] Hope I helped!
  23. The walls of BH can triforce  If you angle screen right you can get the entire wall to triforce, i couldn't repeat it so i just took this small group.
  24. Even if a celebrity admitted on Runescape to be a player, no one would believe him. Now if they admitted IRL, thats a different story. But few celebrities that big would actually have the time to play Runescape or risk ruining their reputation by admitting it without an expensive endorsement from Jagex. But as others have said, I'm sure there are minor celebrities who play. Maybe local sports heroes or small TV stars or even your local tv news anchor... that last thought scares me.
  25. I don't really get your point. From what I see, you have only a few options when skilling in pvp: Bring just the skilling gear (i.e. brawlers, hatchet, pickaxe, etc) and nothing of any value that could be lost, or bring good tanking/fighting gear to fend off pkers, or bring the gear and 75k risk and not care whether you die and lost the 75k. The first option is for low-loss skillers who just want to skill and not bother with EP, the second is for players who want ep but want to protect their money, the third is for players who want ep but don't want to or cba to risk extra on armor and supplies for self defence. I don't see how a skiller in pvp is forced to get EP, he has several options of how to go about skilling depending on his risk level and budget.
