  1. Why are people (who are never even going to win an olympic medal in their lifetime) complaining on how it looks? As has already been said, it's only the athlete's concern how it looks and the athlete's probably shouldn't care anyway. It has a nice background story as well, and incorporates Aboriginal arts into a modern installment of an age old tradition of the olympics. Couldn't have gone better in my opinion.
  2. Well I jsut bought 3.6k d bones (they sold instantly at a little below max), enough to get me 72-80 prayer, before the bones go up any higher. I'm not sure if I'll train it yet ot just hold on to the bones till they rise more. I'm debating if I should just train all the way to 85 in case I can't do anything at 80 and I'm stuck when the bone buying rush kicks in.
  3. AM I EPIC??? Lv 7 star (the best i can mine)+mining brawlers+sc pickaxe+all alone in pvp=uber xp! I got 912xp per stardust at lv 7 and 528xp at lv 6. Insane experience. But for some odd reason while I went to bank at the mage arena after being chased off by a pker, the star dissappeared when I returned.... it was halfway through lv 6. I raged.
  4. Wow, I was just about to say that. I think the idea of "other god prayers" is stupid. All the lore type info about prayer atm is that ALL the prayers are granted by whichever god you pray too. Eg if you are zamorakian he gives u protect from melee, if you are sara boy you get it from sara etc. Though i do agree symbol is being de-saradomined to show this genereal status But in While Guthix Sleeps where you have to enter the elite black knight lair, when you fight the knights that use protect prayers for long enough they say something along the lines of "No! Zamorak has abandoned me!" and their protection prayers shut off. So (at least for those NPCs), Zamorak provides them with prayer and Saradomin has nothing to do with it. Maybe I'm just rambling, but perhaps there is a chance for prayers to be supplied to other gods with effects that differ from the current Saradomin prayers.
  5. I recently finished using smithing brawlers, and to save you some time in your guide for revamping the whole section I suggest the simplest method: location: mage arena bank and anvil in bounty hunter your gear setup should be: [inventory] -sc hammer (or normal hammer if you're not comfortable risking the sacred clay) -25 bars for platebodies -knife (to cut webs) -1 piece of food (shark or better) For equipment, just use brawling gloves. Don't bother risking for ep (more on that in a second). I gave up trying to get ep and wearing tank gear a loong time ago for these gloves. The reason I think mage arena is the best is because nowadays clans hang out around the ancient tele spot very often and I jsut find it too risky to smith in that anvil. I tried using brawlers there and found that I got killed way more often there than at mage arena. The good part about the arena is tha if you get attacked at the anvil, just run through the bats until your attacker gets pjed by a bat, then escape through the tele lever. I found that even for geared clawers and ags'ers, I could tank them easily to the lever with just 1 shark and protect melee+piety. Rangers just as easy. Mages are the problem because they can't get pjed by the bats, and they'll freeze you every 5 steps. You'll usually get killed by a mage if he's good so you'll have to suck it up and deal with occasionally losing some bars. I used two smithing brawlers at the mage arena and only died once. I managed to tank every mage who attacked me except for one who finally got some successful hits on me. But I had no problem tanking everyone else. One issue with the method is teleing through the lever. This is exactly why I reccomend you don't bother risking for ep. There are plenty of kids who sit near the lever and hit you just as you tele, and it makes you lose 1/5 of your current ep. When you start smithing, make sure you have 0ep so you have nothing to lose from the kids who try to ruin your ep, and don't bother risking because you WILL lose ep several times every time some loser decides to hit you for fun. This low risk method is just my reccomendation, If you're hellbent on gaining ep from smithing then I suggest you wear d'hide and good mage def gear and make sure you're wearing 75k in risk rather than storing it in inv because you're sacrificing the invy spot for the shark (unless you decide to cut your efficiency and replace some mith bars with sharks)
  6. It's probably not a coincidence that Jagex jsut happened to release a super prayer pot in the herblore update. Nobody asked for it, they just tossed it out. Something's bound to happen soon if jagex throws in a huge update for herblore that steps prayer up with it. I'm probably gonna invest in bones soon...
  7. I was thinking the exact same thing. At first I wondered why jagex even bothered to put that caption saying it wasn't a hint. Nobody brought it up yet, it seemed like they were intentionally starting controversy. But then I realized that if they didn't add it, RSOF would raise hell expanding this tiny picture to something gigantic. To my knowledge, the only things I remember Jagex denying, and then releasing was dragon plates and forum avatars. But both of these were denied at least 3 years ago and only recently were they released. Things change. Now since Jagex refuted horses coming out from the most recent red herring (if you can even call it a red herring, its more like a coincidence that players blew out of perspective), I doubt we can expect horses any time soon, at least for another year or two. So stop getting your hopes up.
  8. wow, some of those old pics brought back some nostalgia. Old hp bars <3:
  9. I disagree with the prize being given to Obama. Although I have supported him in the election, I really think it is too soon to call anything he has done a world-peace movement. Sure, he's done some great things in his presidency. But isn't he basically fulfilling his duties as the president by doing so? He hasn't done anything extraordinary in my opinion. He beat out over 170 candidates for the prize simply because of star power. But I suppose no one has the right to question the motives of the committee anyway, it's not really an award that represents public opinion nor does it cost the public anything to give it to him.
  10. Frankly I think it would be better off if non-combat skills had bigger impact in PvP. It adds a lot more twists to fighting. Players who made their accounts for things outside pking (like me) can have just as good chances winning a fight by training noncombat skills as a pking account can by training his pking stats. No more is Pvp all about maxing strength or range to have a good win-loss difference, everyone could use exotic strategies combining combat and noncombat for unique advantages. I was looking foreward to more noncombat-skills being introduced into combat.
  11. I'll try to find my picture, but I once got a watch from Chuck E cheese and tried to read the manual (the strip of cardboard, rather) for how to set it up. The problem is, the manufacturers in China didn't put any spaces in their words, and kept misspelling and using awkward words. I gave up translating from engrish and had to figure the watch myself.
  12. About time it came out in India. With its massive population, Jagex is sure to score big bucks in the country. I'm interested to see if they'll add more India servers, or possibly a Runescape version in Hindi or one of the many languages of India if they get big business. But here in the US the current India world lags like insanity. But on busy days it's sometimes the only open world for lootshare for boss monsters, so some teams need to be gutsy. I was in an India world Bandos team once, I did not enjoy it at all. Our tank got redbarred at least twice (but thankfully never died). But back on topic, I'm interested in seeing how all this turns out.
  13. Wow, I would say I'm gonna throw my 40m at herblore training in hopes of being able to use these new epic pots, but right now probably every herblore material is going to soar and be impossible to buy. Ima wait till the hype dies down and use my own materials for now. Good thing I have a bunch of super energies, I'm sure theyre going to shoot up now since they're ingredients for the spec pot.
  14. I'd try to make like a Bucketlist style ending to runescape, trying everything I haven't done before. Pking in good gear, soloing bosses in good gear. In the last moments of Runescape I'd like to enoy playing a game of castle wars or something of the like, just to end the game on a good note. I dont think I could live with myself if I ended the game by dropping or dying with everything that my 4 year career worked to own.
  15. Very good clicking skills, I really need to learn to switch like that and then I can pk well enough. EPIC LOOT. 10/10
  16. Finally, no more TIF withdrawal symptoms for me *wipes foam off mouth*! Anyway, I instantly took a liking to the deflection style, it looks very sexy. And by the way, I hope yall save your forum pictures because in years to come we can repost all these for lols. "Wow, the boards used to look like THAT?! Ugly!" I think I only got one screenshot so I better save that. I'm still exploring all the new features, I hope to be used to everything by tomorrow or the day after
  17. Eh I've been working on leg pressing a lot more lately (I play volleyball, lower body workouts are much more important than upper body). At 170lbs age 15 (yeah I'm a tiny bit fat, but I'm also rather big at 5'11'') I can leg press 250, which is below average I think but still above most of my friends
  18. I think claws are at a fine price. After all their only use is in PVP, and getting fast kills in high demand monsters (like monsters that are just released). As long as their only shining moment is in PVP and there aren't other uber uses, then I think it's fine. After all, it's practically useless after the spec.
  19. I think they should add some alternative methods to training prayer that is as efficient (if not better) than current methods. I mean whenever a new prayer is released, the story is the same: all bones, especially dragon, shoot up in price. People crowd house parties in search of guilded altars. When uber uses of the prayers are found, prayer pots and their materials will be bought up in seconds and prayer training itself would hit a standstill with all the merchants. All dragons would be crowded. If jagex released alternative methods (even if they are just as expensive, it doesn't matter) of prayer training, we wouldn't have such an economy-dependant skill on our hands and then there could be VAST areas of room for expansion without screwing the economy.
  20. They could easily make a monster that is discouraging to solo, simply by making it so at least 2 or more people had to do damage in order to receive a drop from the dead monster. But jagex prefers the fun way: making monsters insanely powerful, just beyond the reach of players with current gear, that makes it insanely difficult to solo. But as more gear is released, soloing becomes easier. The KQ became easy to solo when verac's was released, not sure about the KBD because I'm not sure when it was first solo'd. Boss monsters in the GWD were soloable within the first few weeks when players started exploiting weaknesses after just a little bit of cooperative testing. It took the corp beast quite a while since the obvious solo gear is insanely expensive: full vesta with vesta long or statius with warhammer, and a divine shield. If jagex continues to use their brute force strategies for creating hard monsters, every monster will be soloable sooner or later. They choose to do that just to encourage players to keep trying.
  21. I agree, I'd like to know in advance the level requirements for quests. If I plan to continue maintaining a quest cape (my only skillcape for now) I'd like to have an idea on what I need to work on. I found it very useful when the requireents for the chaos dwarf quests were pre-released because I found I was a couple levels short of one of the requirements so I quickly trained up so as not to be left behind when the update was released. The only problem I forsee is that if too many players manage to get the rewards for a high-req quest early on, the rewards and content released afterward could be exploited at an incredibly fast rate. This is obviously a big issue for 80+ req quests, for surely a quest with such high standards must have insane rewards to go with it. And if too many people have those levels ready to go, the mega-rewards can be accumulated by too many people at once and totally exploited. And I'm sure high level skillers will take advantage as an excuse to complain that their advantage for heavy skilling is ruined thanks to advanced notices for eager questers.

  23. Brine Sabre anyone? I think it was last year it was mentioned in one of the BTS's (back when there were still BTS's) that the brine sabre would get a new mega use soon enough. I guess it's gonna take ages for that tiny mention to be true, but I'm interested to see what kind of room this will be in. All that green, could it be a guthix room? And perhaps your required to use the underwater diving helm and pack so barrows aren't an option, and maybe brine sabres are actually effective. I think I'm gonna buy one brine sabre (its pretty cheap isnt it?) just for now because it's sure to shoot up once the update releases.
  24. I think we have Gilbert Gotfried for that meme, he said the same thing about Bob Saget in his comedy central roast that . I wonder how long it takes till Glenn Beck actually comments on this allegation that he raped and murdered a girl in 1990. Sooner or later every meme-starter comments on his meme, like Xzibit's Tweet-fit on Yodawg.
  25. Well at least a quarter of my sophomore class plays the game along with several teachers. Besides that, there are a lot of brown people jokes. Brown is used colelvtively to describe anyone from India and the Middle East. No one thinks of it as racist, its just easier to say brown than to say "of the heritage of India and/or the Middle East". I'm brown, I really dont care. I love brown jokes.
