  1. I still prefer the fixed screen to be honest lol. Me too. I play the HD game in the fixed client. The icons are just too far apart in the resizable / full screen versions. I like the short mouse throw distance of the fixed client better.
  2. It's only rearranged if you go full screen or resizeable, BTW. You can play HD in fixed windowed mode and all the icons are where they belong.
  3. The Russian general is just stating the obvious. If war breaks out between the US and Russia, then US hardware anywhere is a target. Poland has moved from the Warsaw Pact to a more Western position. It irritates the Russians because it's so close to their border. It's like back in the day when Cuba invited the Soviets in - less than 100 miles from the US border - and caused the US to get all hissy. Nothing is going to come out of this as long as the US doesn't put nukes in Poland.
  4. It was a stealth update sometime after the GE was created.
  5. Each half is +5 prayer.
  6. Reread the OP - it's not $.30 - it's 30 British pence / $0.95 USD - so your percentages are way off. That's really a 19% increase. So if you end up paying $5.95 for a year ($71.40), they will cut you a break and roll back to $5 a month ($60 a year). I wish Jagex would find a way to sell a year at a time to debit card holders rather than $5 x 12 as month-to-month. You'd think the cheaper processing charges would make them want to do that. And to the horse's [wagon] who spammed the topic with a 100K irrelevant picture - please do not pollute the gene pool. Well, either way an extra dollar a year won't break the bank. That's not a year - that's every month - $5.95 as opposed to $5.00. :wall: :wall: :wall:

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and, with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.
  10. "So, in 2008, we will be bringing you special 'PvP worlds'" Really. It's not like all the worlds are going to become PvP killing zones. But at least those of you who want that stuff will be on your own servers and those of us who don't will be on ours. Yes, of course, those of us not on PvP worlds will tremble in fear, moan, gnash our teeth and worry about wearing our rares. Yes, of course, people will only do GWD on PvP worlds - so they can risk being turned on by their teams. You might be right about prices recovering to former levels; at least for consumables like food and potions. It'll be great - those of us who produce can dump our wares in the GE, make money off of you and not even soil our virtual feet on your bloodlust worlds. I look forward to that.
  11. My theory from personal experience: I spent the days prior to the guild training rc at the ZMI altar. I thought 75 would be a sure-fire level to guarantee entry and all the "perks" a rc guild might offer. As a result, I accumulated a slew of law runes. Thousands. So not only am I not a buyer of laws anymore, but now I am in high surplus and actually could be a seller (if I wanted to sell on the downslope). I doubt I am the only one with a surplus of law runes in his bank at present. :| I also think there's also an erosion of demand game-wide. There are so many ways to transport around now without using law runes - I think demand is dropping because of this newfound ease in getting around.
  12. If they actually follow through and create PvP worlds where you can PK almost anywhere, then I submit that no one will give a flying rat's backside about any of the PvP minigames introduced since the Fall of the Wild. As long as it's optional, I really don't care if they bring back PK or not. Let the e-bullies whale away at each other until they figure out better ways to deal with their frustrations. :D
  13. The AoN binds to only one patch at a time. So you bind it once and just wear/rub it for updates.
  14. I have BOINC installed here, but since I started using my computer as a DVR, I don't run it. Maybe I will again if I can find a good cheap dual-core CPU.
  15. OK - about this Elriss character... Isn't a female wizard a "witch"?
  16. So now that we can pay to have our calquats watched, doesn't this make amulets of nature useless?
  17. I play the fixed size, HD client. The resizeable / full screen modes just scatter all the icons too far apart.
  18. Wait for a ScapeRune event with Evil Bob and his lady beach friend.
  19. You might move them more quickly at 4-dose. Every time I check the GE, 3 dose pots are roughly 75% the cost of 4 dosers. That tells me that the price per dose is the same and it's all about convenience. There's not really any more profit though - a dose is a dose is a dose. :D Personally, I think a good item for the eventual Herblore Guild is a way to quickly collapse 3-dose pots into 4 dosers and empty vials. You may say that I'm a dreamer...
  20. Eh, you can smith gold bars into 2 things: the golden bowl and the golden helmet. Consider this from tip.it: Each gives you 30 smith xp. The helmet uses 3 bars; the bowl uses 2. The helmet high alchs for 0gp; the bowl high alchs for 420gp. That's a 210gp return for each bar, but you do have to high alch them. You can't sell them in a store. So you would basically smith two bars into 1 item and use ½ a nat on each bar that way. Might be worth looking into if you want cheap bars to smith. But at only 15xp per bar, it doesn't seem worthwhile to me. The last time I checked, the interface was hella clunky and you had to smith one bowl at a time. And yes, they can fail.
  21. On average, any given spot on earth will see a total solar eclipse once every 350 years. But it's like dragon chainbody drops; you can have two very close together and they can be further apart. There's another total eclipse in China next July. The NASA Eclipse Site is the best site for maps, IMHO.
  22. Here's some screencaps for those of you who don't get NASA TV, or couldn't hook up to the web site. These pictures are from somewhere in remote China, out near the Mongolian border. Nice prominences. About the middle of it. A nice, calm corona. Diamond ring: put your eye protection back on! Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting
  23. I am watching it on NASA TV; their coverage begins at 6AM EDT.
  24. It's total in far northern Canada, across northern Russia and into central China. It's partial across a lot of Europe; people in upstate Maine USA can see the sun rise in partial eclipse. The official NASA site is being hammered right now; here's the Wikipedia page.
  25. Smiddi Ryak's head is gloriously misshapen during one specific event in Temple Trekking. Please note it's the lumberjack event with no trees; her head is normal everywhere else. Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting This has not been fixed as of 30 July.
