Shattered Heart - 2nd Statue - 2nd Hunter stone
Codguy replied to takenote61's topic in Help and Advice
I know it can be really frustrating to get some rocks. I took me 10 farm runs to get my first farm rock, and it was the 21st run to get my 2nd rock. Just keep at it, and I'd suggest just training Hunter the best way possible for you (Chins or Grenwalls if you can) and you'll eventually get it. -
If you have a high Agility level, then at 95 hunter (90 Agility) you can catch Black Warlock butterflies for about 150k hunter and 30k agility xp/hour. At 90 Hunter (85 Agility) the Snowy Knight butterflies and at 85 Hunter (80 Agility) the Sapphire Glacialis butterflies will be comparable to Red Chins at those respective levels. So in terms of speed, I'd say Red Chins/pure Grenwalls (as Morionic said) until 95, and then Black Warlocks if you have the Agility level.

If you have any questions on how to get it to work, feel free to PM me, since... Well, we have each other added  Looks like you've got it started at least.
-
Thanks :) I'll be looking into it more myself once these finals are over  Also, did you drop the logs 1/2/3 at a time or a whole inventory at once? Because I know that if you drop only a few logs in between logs and reclick the tree, you won't lose anytime, but dropping a full inventory will lose time. Also, if you ever get around to trying out boosting your level with a familiar (Beaver) and boosting your level up when you remember with your cape, that'd be cool. I wonder what the difference between using the boosts is and and not using them.

^Biased@@@@ Okay, I'm done on this topic. I find both chats to be perfectly acceptable and lots of fun.
-
o Well, obviously Codguy's chat, AKA'd as FSC, is the best chat, all around. :P So Lady Heinous currently owns the unofficial Tip.It Forums chat, which is called HYT. My chat is the unofficial Blogscape chat, called FSC (Fishscape Chat :P). There's obviously a reason why someone would start the Tip.It Forums unofficial chat, however, the unofficial Blogscape chat was created because a lot of the members of the Blogscape forum were really good friends. So at the start, it was run by Sheynara, Celt23, and Oreo(forget numbers), and like a lot of chats, have been passed down. Nowadays, there isn't much of a difference. For the most part, HYT has more people that chat in it, while FSC has usually been known for a smaller group that know each other a little bit better, from my perspective. But really it's more like two unofficial TIF chats now, owned by two different people. I spend time in both chats, friends with a lot of people from both. And I've both Lady Heinous and I are friends and we sometimes discuss the two chats almost as if we're co-owners, just with two different areas of responsibility, as I see it :P Just to give a bit of insight. Some people hate FSC, some people hate HYT, and some people love it all. So it's up to you to choose what best fits your personality really :) But, FSC is better :D

Ah, I forgot to mention the reasoning behind that in my post. So, since it's possible to cut, say 3 pieces of Ivy within a few seconds (cut, 2.4 seconds and cut again, 2.4 seconds again for the third), some people will say they can get 100k xp/hour or more if they happened to a 5 minute timed run (calculated total xp in 5 minutes by 12 to get xp/hour) and just happened to get lucky with a few pieces of Ivy and ended up with a very high number. Just that there's inconsistency with people doing short timed runs. And also, there are some timed hours that end up being better or worse than others. I've personally experienced as low as ~60k xp/hour and as high as maybe 90-95k xp/hour at Ivy, in a rough hour, while paying the same amount of attention. So it can vary, but obviously the average overall will be a more consistent number. I feel as is 80k xp/hour at Ivy is a pretty good number to use. Most people aren't paying full attention at Ivy anyways, since it's so easy to do other things as well. But with full attention, as well as the Wc level boost (Beaver and Wc cape boost), could probably top 85k, possibly 90k, on average. But then again, no FM xp :P Hope that all made sense lol. My thoughts have been really jumbled lately because it's finals week, and I've got 3 of my 4 tomorrow :(

Oh Wood Master, how I have much to learn! Haha. Yeah, I definitely don't have much experience with Sawmill, and don't have any exact xp rates for it. However, I had just done a quick calculation that could easily be proven wrong. Congratulations on the ADZE, I love mine and got it this last weekend :D As far as over 100k xp/hour, I know this is possible, however, it means every single time you drop logs has to be perfect and you have to be lucky to get faster logs. I only know of a very small handful of people at 99 WC that have done 100k+ at teaks in one exact hour. So that's more of a max xp/hour rather than an average. Also, yes I do use mousekeys, however, I was able to do my timed hour perfectly fine without them in this case.
-
Oh woops, 4 game ticks, you're correct. I'll edit that in. And I'm interested in doing Teaks for WC xp and FM xp, however, I'm just curious about xp rates for the other methods as well, for a comparison. And I hadn't considered fletching at the same time. I forgot you could do things like that. So maybe I'll be considering this in the future.

Advanced Barbarian is faster than Advanced Gnome, as it's roughly the same lap time, but more experience for the Advanced Barbarian course. And it'd probably be best to do Advanced Gnome until you want to move on to Advanced Barbarian. I personally go back and forth, for the change in scenery, as it's about the same xp/hour at max speeds at level 85.
-
83 won't be a huge difference from 80, but obviously the higher level, the better xp/hour you'll get. I'd say start at 80.
-
Alright, so I'm invested in finding the fastest xp/hour with Woodcutting. Normally, people would recommend Ivy, or Sawmill if you feel like concentrating. HOWEVER, I am not looking for recommendations. So, I'm interested in if you have ever timed yourself Woodcutting. And I mean, really timing yourself, for at least 30 minutes to find an xp/hour rate. An hour is best, fully concentrated, if you've done it before. Anyways, I'm trying to decide, on average, if Ivy, Sawmill, or Teaks is the best. I did 90-99 WC with Ivy, and with decent attention, I noticed roughly 75-80k xp/hour. Sometimes I could see it spiking more than that, however, I have some doubts about the average versus max experience per hour with Ivy. Since you cut the ivy at a similar pace to Yews (little faster, obviously), but with a ton of experience, it's a bit more random. As I recall, it's roughly, what... 4 game ticks between each log is possible, at the fastest. So, normally, Ivy is cut slower than this, but it CAN be cut within 2.4 seconds or so from the last Ivy being cut. So this means, if you happen to get lucky, you could get well over 100k xp/hour, but then the next hour, being unlucky, could get you 60k xp/hour. Potentially, if you can cut it every 2.4 seconds, that means that the max xp/hour would be about 498,750 xp/hour without lumberjack. So, that just shows, Ivy won't give constant experience, it'll vary some. So your average and your max will be different. Then there's the Sawmill. I was testing out a few things there at 96 Woodcutting, and I didn't actually time myself very well there, as I was only going to be there for no more than a few minutes really. However, I tested how long it takes to complete a task, and figured out all the experience from what I did, and at about max speed, I calculated roughly 80k xp/hour. Now, this could vary a bit obviously, and it wasn't that accurate. However, I felt as if it'd be extremely difficult to get over 90k xp/hour there, at any level. Maybe 99 could just barely hit it? I don't know. And finally, teaks. Remember when everyone that wanted to get fast experience went and cut these? Well, guess what, they're still really fast. I just did a complete hour timed at Teaks today, and I'm impressed. In exactly one hour, with Lumberjack, Fire Ring and Flame Gloves, as well as an ADZE, with WC cape boost and Beaver familiars, at obviously 99 WC, I got 93,110 Woodcutting experience. This came out to be 37,137 FM xp as well, for a total of 130,247 experience in an hour. This was also 1,069 Teak Logs, 337 of which were burned by the ADZE for a 31.5% burn rate (in case anyone is interested). tl;dr: So, my question for you guys, as I stated before: What are your Woodcutting experience rates for these three methods? I don't need xp/hour rates that people believe, or haven't completely tested, as I've heard and seen lots of different rates myself. So only if you've tested it out for a decent amount of time. Also, if you do have any rates, please post your level at the time, and if you were using any extra equipment, such as Lumberjack, etc. Thanks so much guys. This is just to figure out some hard facts, and not just speculations. Hope this all makes sense :D EDIT: Changed to 4 game ticks. Not sure why I thought it was 3.

Nice lie sir. Red chins are 60-70k hr/at max. Grenwalls can be upwards of 100k-110k. NICE LIE@@@ :P Actually, Red Chins, at levels over 80 on average, are about 40k faster. Grenwalls are more along the lines of 70-80k xp/hour, except with lots of experience doing it and at high hunter levels, can top 100k xp/hour. Red chins, I've been able to get at about 110-120k xp/hour at just level 85 Hunter (requires the right spawn times, your location, your concentration, level, and the number of people around you. Sometimes slightly crowded worlds work to your advantage depending on your spot). Grenwalls ARE slower, assuming you have the same concentration for both, but get more money, and are still decent xp/hour.

I don't believe there's any outfit that will help you Hunt them. However, a very good method, if you don't have pawya meat handy in your bank (very few do...), is to use a Fruit Bat and use its scrolls in order to get your papayas to bait the traps. This will start getting you some pawya meat, which then you can bait 2 or 3 traps with pawya meat in order to catch Grenwalls. If you want to hunt Grenwalls, then you can do it at 77+ Hunter. Doesn't matter all that much on your level, as it's more for epic profit, than just xp. As for the location, I'll link a video for you. And it also shows a decent way to set up your traps, and which ones get which bait. Have fun :) Edit: Some people believe Larupia will increase your chances, but I don't believe this. However, feel free to use it.

I'd have to ask what you're running diagonally for that you'd need to inquire about the speed? In general, running diagonally is faster, but if it's a short distance it won't matter, and at most a game tick or two, depending on the distance.
-
It will only work for one pouch. It is more efficient to cut up the pieces though. It takes a bit of time, but that bit of extra time used up will mean lots more pouches to make.

Oak planks aren't necessarily the "way to go." It all depends on how you value your time, value your money, as well as what you value the experience at. If you don't care about money, have it all, and want fast experience, then of course Mahogany is the best. However, if you have troubles making money, and it's always a burden to spend money on skills, then Oak is a more likely scenario. I used Oak for a while, and hit 90 Construction with Oak. However, I'm planning on going to 99 with Mahogany without SC, as it's fast, and I value my time at a high rate of income, as well as don't mind burning a bit of extra cash for faster experience. At the rates of experience that I get, Mahogany ends up being about twice as fast as Oak, which means it's actually worth it to me to spend more money in order to gain that faster experience. SC Hammers with Construction earn a total of 50,750 experience I believe. So that would be calculated to 9.1 hammers, or 10 hammers rounded. Hope that helps. By the way, only the last sentence applies to the OP's question :P

I apologize for the wait. I ended up getting busy the night I was originally going to test this, and then kept getting busy further on down the road! However, I finally tested out some things. So, even with near maxed out strength bonus, Super potions (didn't want to waste Extremes), and Piety, I wasn't able to get over 250 damage with the flail (not upgraded at all). This was against Vampyre Juvinates and Vyrewatch. However, I was able to hit higher damage (~300) on other monsters with the same setup. So I've added this in and credited you! And, the max hit will increase as you cremate Vyrewatch corpses (every 50), so if you continue, you'll be hitting higher damage :) But this only applies to Vampyre Juvinates and Vyrewatch, of course. Anyways, thanks for the wait, and thanks so much for the information! If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, don't hesitate to PM me or reply :) I will be keeping this thread open for a little while in case you happen to get any of the normal Treasure Trail rewards from Vyrewatch cremation. If this happens, it'd be great if you could take a picture! :D -Codguy

Alright now! So, we've been looking into the matter, and realized that some of the coding never got changed. Silly us  So we're currently fixing this so that everything matches up. If you notice any errors in the future, don't hesitate to say something :) And if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to PM me. Thanks for your help. -Codguy

Since my last post, I'd just like to update something. The Crew has decided to change the ratios to (LP/10)/Level, which will make the ratios no different than they were prior to the Life Points update. And with this, as well as the problem you noticed with ratios in disagreement, lordkafei, we are currently working on getting the coding to be correct. Thanks for your help! I'll be locking this now, but feel free to PM me if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. -Codguy
