  1. Nope, you're just lucky. I don't see why Jagex would further lower the price of such a cheap item.
  2. I went from 89-99 Defence in about 3 weeks at the Armoured Zombies. And I made at least 1.5m, and gained 600 blue charms. Slayer is not the best way to train. It's not even close to the best way to train.

They work like the Frog Token clothes. They'll stay the same if you change your gender, but when you try to equip them they'll say something like "The clothes magically transform", and you'll avoid looking rather ambiguous.
  4. Not really sure there is one. Perhaps ranged, since your projectiles fly, or agility, so you can fly like the wind in a less literal sense...
  5. 80 Construction is useful if you want a... Small Orrery, or if you're far more patient, a Greater Magic Cage. But apart from that Construction is only really useful if you're a masochist when it comes to money. Depends entirely on how nice you want your humble abode to look. To be honest, I'd rather have 26 sparkling rooms than the ability to smith an adamant item nobody ever uses. Guess it'd be useful if you do a lot of Stealing Creation, though.

Find a noncombat clan. No pickpocketing, barriers or combat. There are a few fairly active ones out there, and they're not too difficult to find.
  7. Zero point zip here, after 5 or so years. I once got a one-day forum mute for explaining to someone why they shouldn't use [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation], but apparently I was advertising the website. :|
  8. PKing. I'm really just not any good at it. Oh, and I'm trying to ignore slayer, but the idea of 85+ slayer is too tempting. But then every time I try to train it, I give up after one or two tasks... As for things which seem too ridiculous, I can't really think of any. The game's target audience is pretty young, so Jagex can be excused for whatever jokes they make.

It takes some people 1 hour, and others 10. My personal theory is that the incubator updates with the G.E, or one of its items. Not really sure though, it's very random.

I disagree. I did almost 1,000 hours of PVP from 70-99 defence, playing dozens of hours at each level, and I noticed a huge difference. DD++ specs will tear through a 105 combat\80 defence player in rune, but I don't even bother using them on 99 defence\300+ slash; I hit more with the flail then constant specs. I'm inclined to value 1,000 hours of PvP over a few isolated tests. I might have to try pking sometime...
  11. 1, easily. Godswords aren't good for training, they're for PvP/monster hunting.

I never really saw a difference between 80 and 99 defence, to be honest. Yesterday I was fighting someone with 45 defence and 89 range in my dungeon, and we died simultaneously. That could have been bad luck, but his dark bow absolutely tore through me.
  13. In like 5 years, I've lost about 100k from dying. But then, I almost never fight dangerous bosses, so I guess that makes sense. Oh, but I lost connection at the Aberrant Spectres once, and logged in with 2hp. They'd gone unaggressive right when I'd hit 1 or 2hp. And I was wearing my fire cape. Guess I'm just too lucky to die :?
  14. I haven't changed my password in months. It's a 10-20 character mixture of random numbers and letters, but I know I should change it regularly. But I sort of don't want to, because being hacked would be a way of escaping this evil, evil game. But I can stop playing any time I want! But I must quit... But why should I?! Disregard that :?
  15. The dragonfire shield is fairly pointless - not because it's more expensive than a defender, but because if you're using a bunyip and you have decent defence, you might as well get the +19 slash bonus instead of overhealing yourself on anything other than Nechrayels, or of course boss monsters. But if you're really into maximum exp/hr, you'll be using a combat familiar, so it could come in handy, I guess. Dragonfire Shield pking on a 75 defence pure looks pretty fun though. Bandos armour is used because - well, let's face it, if you have a spare 20m, which a lot of avid slayers/skillers/monster hunters may have, you might as well buy armour which has great defence, strength and prayer, and that you will use for anything other than pietying or mage defence. Sure, rune will suffice, but Bandos armour is just plain better. I'm not saying you should save up for Bandos because rune is terrible, but you're better off with Bandos armour than 20 million coins. But then, you're better off with 20 million coins than a fancy player-owned house, so I can't talk.
  16. Doesn't matter which weapon you use, the defensive style will still give +4 (I think) defence points. The lunar staff gives visible defensive bonuses, and you can use it with a shield, so that might be useful.
  17. This. I don't enjoy looking like plasticine with clinical anxiety.
  18. After a while, even things like the KBD lose their novelty and just become a chore. I suppose for sheer excitement you could hunt revenants in the low-level wilderness. They behave like PKers, and have a few decent drops.
  19. I'd tele to Port Phasmatys, bank all my items, then leave the RuneScape tab open and do other stuff. Let's face it, if you've got the power to PK anyone, anywhere, you're going to go to a crowded area. He'd have no reason to visit 90% of the map.
  20. Agreed. Good debate. :P That was the original premise of the thread. Why did nobody understand that?!
  21. To get a 99 in less than 48 hours you'd need to gain 270k exp per hour, and that's only really possible in buyable skills. His best bet is thieving via pyramid plunder, that would take perhaps 80ish hours.
  22. I personally couldn't give three ducks about torso being less efficient, it looks nice is more fun to use and fun to get. So put that way, Torso IS better than Addy. Lets use a points system. 1 point for effiency, 1 point for looks, 1 point for fun to use, -1 point for embarrisment while wearing Toros = 2 Adamant= A big fat 0 I'm glad people in real life don't cling on to this attitude 'No don't buy that supercar, your ford fiesta is more efficient! in the time it takes you to earn the extra money you could already have driven around quicker!' :| This thread has nothing to do with looks, fun or any other factor than mathematics. In the time it took you to get the torso, you could have gained about 500k experience. To make up for that, you'd need to gain millions of combat experience. That's it. That's all we're saying. We're not saying the adamant chainbody looks better than the torso. We're just saying that you'd gain more experience by buying an adamant chainbody then training than you would if you got the torso then trained. This efficiency does not need to be applied to the game - I stand around in banks a lot, wasting time I could have used to gain experience. I do not, however, argue that doing so is better than training constantly, because I would be fundamentally wrong. And your point system seems a little arbitrary.
  23. Only one side is listening, and it is aggravating us. It's like arguing that the whip is a better weapon than the godsword because it has been textured red and black, and red is the colour for FAST, or that soloing Graar'dor with a rubber chicken is better because it's hilarious. They're both sort of valid points in a way, but they do not address the initial argument.
