  1. this any better http://planetrenders.net/renders/displa ... ?pos=-6600 That render is still not great, I'll give it a try though.
  2. I like it, add a castle or something in the foreground to the right I'd say. And maybe a few little people in the background.

I quite like it, it's pretty dark but has a nice feel to it. I'm not entirely sure what the thing in the middle is either though.
  4. I also thought it said orange at first, it's a pretty nice banner though. The grey background with the scanlines isn't terribly interesting, but I understand you probably wanted to keep it quite simple.
  5. ^ That's one way of putting it, but I honestly don't think you understand the humour aspect of this topic.
  6. ^ Honestly though, if you have some good experience with Gimp/graphic work in general you really shouldn't have too much trouble converting that knowledge to PS if you do decide to go professional at a later stage. I think it wouldn't take even me too long to get used to PS completely, and I'm definitely not the most experienced person around here.
  7. Quotepasta. Quotepasta. Quotepasta. Quotepasta. Quotepasta. Quotepasta.
  8. Yay indeed, looks great. I still use 2.4.5, I really should upgrade.
  9. Works fine now. It looks good, especially if you're going to edit the green sword area. I'd have to agree that the arms are a bit wide though, and I also think some areas could use a bit more shading, it looks quite flat in places.
  10. It's ok, indeed quite simple and the colours aren't too great. I don't really like how the animation starts in the middle either, even though that was intended, I think it doesn't help the flow. Also, most shapes look quite blurry, it would be better if they were sharper IMO.
  11. Looks great, indeed a bit rough but that's not really a problem. My only C/C would be that the left (our left, her right) corner of the cape looks quite strange, maybe it was your intention to make it look like that though. I wouldn't really know if it's accurate, haven't played RS for a long time.
  12. Looks good, the animation is a bit fast but that's not really a problem because it's clear what it is anyway. Nice job.
  13. From one of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games obviously. I hate having to put text on sigs. :(
  14. It's kind of like rating. People give eachother 'classes' (novice, moderate, intermediate, semi-pro and pro) depending on what level they think the art is of.
  15. I think it can help to give the person that is getting classed a general overview of the skill level people think they have, but I do agree that a lot of classing seems to be based just on the person posting the art rather than the art itself, which kind of defeats the purpose of it. But then again, all comments/ratings/classing are opinions, and whether you like it or not, people will always be biased, sometimes not even on purpose.

It looks pretty good and clean. Personally I'm not a fan of the colours you choose, but I'm sure there will be other people who like them.
  17. It doesn't look bad, but it's a bit boring/simple. Some animals or other interesting things would make it look better.
  18. Looks good, I like it a lot. Easy to navigate and clean and professional looking. The only thing I'm not sure about is the font used for most of the content text, it looks like a Times-ish one and I don't really think it fits the more techy look of the banner etc.
  19. It's not bad for a first. To add to what the other have already said, try to establish some kind of flow in your signatures. This basically means that it looks like the elements in a signature seem to be going or 'flying' in a certain direction. This can be hard to get right at first, but it will make your work look a lot more interesting. You can create flow by using for example effect C4Ds, clipping masks, etc. There are many tutorials on effects like these, so do a little search and most importantly, just keep practising and try out different things. Also, if you're just starting out brushing entire backgrounds is fine, but as you get more experienced you might want to try out different techniques. One of them is placing a non-resized version of the render in the background and smudging it/applying other effects. That can work pretty well, but again, just experiment.
  20. The WIP looks good so far, I'm sure it will turn out well. One question though, are these the actual dimension of the picture (second one) or did you scale it down for display purposes?
  21. #1: Kind of busy, but nice style and effects. #2: Looks great, I really like the colours. #3: Looks really good, you should make more sigs in that fractal style. #4: Same as #3, I think this one is even better. The right side seems a bit noisy though.
  22. Tried to do Killer's request but got stuck halfway through. :-?
  23. ^ Agreed, the first and last one could use some more blending. I'd probably say the second one is the best out of those three, the effects are alright but the dead center focal placement makes it quite boring composition-wise. And about the logo, even though it might not be true ripping, it's still pretty lame. Just design your own logo, this only makes people think that you're not able to make anything original and that you can only idea rip.
  24. ^ Um, yeah... Would have been nice if you had actually said you were going to put ugly text all over it when I made it for you. -.-
