Hello, free trade. If you don't like the coinshare, free-for-all the boss, sell the loot and split it. If you can't trust your team mates to do so, then they shouldn't be your team mates. That's how it was for many years before Lootshare and Coinshare, and although there were scammers, the need for trust created many tight-knit communities. You speak about this like it was a long time, but it was really only like that for a few months during the era of "very expensive drops". GWD came out in August of 2007, and the LS was created at the end of the year. And we're talking about items worth billions, here, with Nex. Most people have a price, especially with the allure of anonymity. I wouldn't scam friends regardless of the money involved, but how many people can honestly say that, when an item worth the trade limit is involved?

It still makes 4m p/hr+, what else rivals that? What monster yields 4m p/hr? DKs maybe, with a yak. Nothing else I can think of comes close.

The exp weekends are a big reason why MHing has gone to [cabbage]. Herblore was and still is cost-prohibitive for many people to train, but with exp weekends, people who normally wouldn't have a chance of affording OVLs were able to get them. By giving so many people the opportunity to get high herblore, it drastically increased the amount of GWD items entering the game (kills are much faster than they used to be) and the amount of competition at GWD. And more on-topic, I think the main argument here is that we need more end-game items that can be obtained by skilling, rather than slaying extremely powerful monsters for a small chance at a drop that you probably won't get because you have to use lootshare because Jagex-is-[bleep]ing-[developmentally delayed]ed-and-always-sets-the-GE-prices-way-too-low-for-coinshare-to-be-viable. MHing is pretty much dead as a money maker, so I don't see the harm in giving players the ability to create untradeable armor that rivals Torva if they have 99 smithing.

XP weekends killed GWD. Plain and simple. So no, STFU n GTFO if you want another. I abhor the premise of xp weekends because it's so hypocritical. Jagex refuses to drop more tradeable discontinued items because they don't want to make people rich, but they are willing to reward tens of millions of GP worth of free experience just because you played during a certain timeframe? GAH. Also, making it based on XP instead of time is what MANY people suggested after the FIRST xp weekend. That makes it so much less overpowered.

Yea, once you get 800m+, don't go and try to stake it for a party hat or something. Of course. I've learned multiple times not to stake a lot. I was down 175m and I made it all back via small stakes. 5-20m at a time. even now I'm only doing 10-30. Thats under 10% of my cash. Smart man. The higher the stakes, the more likely it is your opponent will try to use some less-than-honest method to gain an advantage against you. Also, of course if you lose a few 10m stakes in a row you can quit and still be in decent shape, but one or two 200m+ stakes hurts a lot. And it's very easy to fall for "gambler's fallacy" and keep on staking big once you lose a big stake, believing your next one will win it all back. I've had several friends and acquaintances get cleaned with that logic.

With the 5% limit, some items will NEVER reflect their true values in the GE's guide price: Party Hats and Ancient Armor come to mind immediately. And with Ancient Armor, it's a real problem because with the low GE prices on those items, nobody will do CS. And Nex just costs too much to do LS. So nobody does Nex.

Make the GE update prices based on the median price the item was traded at the previous day.

My son (the one who no longer plays Runescape) asked me the other day, what's stopping anyone from manipulating prices now by putting, say, a yellow phat up for sale on the GE at 2 bill and having a friend buy it for 2 bill, and wash, rinse and repeat? :unsure: That wouldn't affect what people are paying for in world 2 or the forums. And partyhats are still underpriced on ge and can't move that quickly, so that wouldn't do anything. However the GE guide price is tied together with player to player trades since the limit was removed. If they traded it back and forth for more then the guide price in normal trades, You'd almost think it would effect the guide price. My point was that the guide price moves too slow to effect anything at the moment Even with phats jumping by 5% now? :unsure: Yes. For the GE to have any resemblance of the "real price," it needs to update to meet the median trade price from the previous day.

I'm at a quandary as to which Chaotic I should get next. I already own a rapier, maul, crossbow, and rigour. I can't decide between CLS, CKS, and EEKS. I don't really do much GWD anymore. Mostly, the bosses I do are DKs and TDs. Advice please?

Why would it? It is by far the best melee armor in the game, and when a full set is combined with a DSS it essentially makes you invincible because of the increased amount brews/pony specs heal you. More importantly than the stats is the rarity. Not many new pieces are entering the game because it's just not worthwhile to kill Nex. If the GE prices were closer to the trade prices and people could CS Nex, more people would do it. However, as it currently stands "team FFA" and LS are the only viable methods. And with you only getting 2-3 kills per trip while spending close to a mil in supplies, LS just isn't worth it unless you've missed like a duo or trio divine (or a few of them).

This. You may think you're tricking them, but if you fought someone paranoid like me he'd cover all the bases: full tribrid gear + dfs, pots, steel titan + scrolls, ect. You'd think most people would do that anyway when staking so much money... but I guess they just see lvl 70 and go herp derp easy win no way they'll try to trick me. Im just going to lol at them Steel titan is glitched so it wont attack you unless you attack its owner... other people with irons is who i worry about :P Iron is also glitched, where it doesn't use any attacks other than the scroll or its rare magic attack. This is really irritating trying to use one in PvM.
