  1. This. If this is indeed in the Wilderness, it'll be impossible to kill it because of all the [bleep]ing brain-dead noobs one-iteming you with claws/KS. Also, hooray for more gear that is likely to be way underpriced on the GE and sold for billions on the streets. Gonna be a FAIL update. You can now offer up to 2.1b at ge, regardless of the guide price... and this won't be another Nex I don't think (meaning whatever it drops, you can buy it with money), so I wonder what you're talking about. Depends how difficult it is, what the requirements to fight it are (i.e. 99 slayer?), and how rare the drops are. The issue with the low guide price is that it screws up LS/CS, which many people like to use. I hope you're right about it not being another Nex.
  2. I don't actually expect 99 slayer. I do, however, expect higher than ISW. It'll probably be 95-97, more likely 95.
  3. Just blitz it, lol. It's not that much weaker than barrage, and under the circumstances it would be a lot safer to use. Also, inb4 99 slayer requirement.
  4. I only see one picture?
  5. Good luck, with the dozens of claw/KS one-item prods who will swarm the area, at least for the first few days/weeks after its release, assuming it's worth camping. This emoticon sums up my expectations of this update:

  7. Zaryte bow should shoot swords that are on fire. Cold fire.
  8. CLS > Rapier because it's bigger and looks cooler. Owait. I am compensating for something...
  9. steel titan>>>>>>>>>pony. Your goal is to kill them, not tank them until they run out of runes. Depends how many of them there are. Ponies are also affected by Torva, so each scroll is around a shark's worth of LP instantly.
  10. Sounds kind of risky - what if you actually died or they somehow managed to kill you? Loss of Torva, and Divine? :( Doesn't sound like a good idea. Ragequit IRL. Tbh, if you're so wealthy that you actually own a full set of Torva, there's really not that much that is still stimulating in the game. Torva really is an eleventh-hour-superpower. Its usefulness is pretty game-breaking, but the amount of effort required to get it pretty much means that by the time you do get it, you've beaten the rest of the game to a bloody pulp. So... yeah. Just to give an idea of how powerfu torva + divinel the combination is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NobiaGHJd_g
  11. Anti-luring these kids would be [bleep]ing hilarious if you had a DSS and Torva, as you are pretty much impossible to kill unless the scammers have a large team (more than just 4 people). Play along with their lure and then when the timer is almost at 0, throw on your Torva and Divine and summon a Pony and then rape the [bleep] out of the would-be lurers.
  12. Pro slayers use a ring of stone. Monsters be stubbing they toes on you and [cabbage].
  13. Jagex needs to remove dangerous CWA already. Nothing good about it and it's a cesspool of scammers/lurers.
  14. I find that I liked Jagex much better years ago when they made it seem like they actually gave a damn about the people that played their game. That Jagex, undoubtedly, wouldn't hesitate to update their servers. However, the Jagex of today... It'll be a while before we see this. Lol. I realize they're a company, and as such should focus on profits. However, they also need to balance that with ensuring satisfaction of their customers... Something that, IMO, has been going downhill for some time. But dey brot back da wildy!!1 Dey care abot da playas or els dey wudnt hav dun dat!
  15. I will say it again: Just put Amitoz and Golliv on your ignore lists. They are purposely spouting misinformation to try to get a response out of efficiency nuts, and it is working. Don't feed the trolls, people.
  16. There's a direct correlation between total level and the size of one's e-peen0r. Why do you think so many people are so berserk about efficiency? RS is serious business.

I agree with the sentiment that I'd gladly wait five minutes for a DG to pre-load if it would mean there wouldn't be any door lag. The two biggest server-related issues that plague me right now are door lag in DGing and the "account logged in" disconnect bug. Both make me want to drive my fist through my screen.
  18. Wish I took a picture. Just got 44k xp for F36, because literally half the dungeon was inaccessible due to two mining doors. As a reference point, at my DG level I usually get 75-80k xp per floor for the mid to high 30s.
  19. Their servers have been really struggling lately, and not just the GE database. Every world is laggy, and that "auto-logout" bug seems to be occurring more often, too. Both yesterday and today, I had it happen as soon as I tried to log on. Hadn't be on for hours, and the first log-in attempt to a world: "Your account is already logged in --- *booted to log-in screen*" Infuriating, especially when trying to get into full worlds, as it seems 1 in 5 log-in attempts causes it now.
  20. Long =/= hard, and creating artificial difficulty by giving a boss uber amounts of HP doesn't accomplish much in the way of player satisfaction. Just look at several of the optional bosses in FF12, Yiazmat as the best example. He has 50 million HP and takes quite a long time to beat, but he's not really difficult if you know what you're doing. He is just... boring and tedious. The only moderately interesting part of the fight is towards the end, when he enters berserk mode.
  21. Essentially, yes. Her magic attack rarely, if ever, misses. Her melee attack misses uncommonly, but noticeably. Sacrificing melee defense for ranged defense seems kind of an odd choice. Honestly, risk doesn't bother me. At one point I was tempted to wear a set of Armadyl blessed D'hide and join the teams that required Karils/Arma. Karils has its uses, but I'm not sure Nex is one of them. This. If you don't have at least max cash, you ain't Nexxin, son. At least not more than one kill. o.O That's going a bit far I'd say. I've never had more than a 400m cash pile, and I'm only recently passing 2B bank value, but I've hunted Nex several times. Other than Pernix / more Chaotics, I have pretty much everything I need too... Nex is actually a boss which is a challenge.. like 2005 Jad challenging. Not really. She's actually not very difficult to anyone who's got a good amount of experience with faster-paced games. The hardest part is finding a good and trustworthy team to go with. :\ It takes a good mass of 20 people 4 minutes to kill her... Have you ever been there? Probably not looking at your dung level. Dude, why do people keep responding to him? Put him on your ignore already. He's not even trying to be subtle with his trolling anymore. And yes, I came out of retirement just to post this. Don't feed the [bleep]ing trolls.
  22. I'm through here. There's too many goddamn trolls and the mods do nothing about them. The overall quality of these forums is barely better than the RSOF anymore. I might return a long time down the road, but I probably won't. Most of you won't miss me, and some [wagon] like String and Anonytroll might actually rejoice that I'm gone. Good for you if you do, I won't be around to see it. ;)
  23. On runescape I have no sympathy, a fool and his money are soon parted. Especially since they are lured in by the promise of easy money, if its too good to be true it probably is... but with the rape victim example you are a [bleep]ing moron (and believe me I was being nice with those words). Most rape victims get raped by someone they know and trust, not by wearing skanky clothes in a bad neighborhood. You completely missed my point. Also, nice flame. Makes your rebuttal sooooo much more effective. Seriously, these forums have gone to [cabbage].
  24. This. The entire point of a subscription-based RPG, from a developer's standpoint, is to create a Skinner's Box. They hook you with immediate gratification in the beginning by making it very easy to level. Then as you play more, levels get disproportionately more difficult, but by that point you're conditioned to the point where you don't mind. Therefore, by making it require months/years of playing (obviously varying greatly on how much time you invest) to get max stats, they're benefiting themselves with your continuous subscription fees.
  25. Jagex did want these items to "revolutionize high level combat," but they made them so rare (through a combination of mistakes) that less than 1% of all of RS can actually afford them. Yeah, you may call that high-leveled, but I call that ridiculous. There are a few things Jagex can do to make Nex more worthwhile: 1) Remove the stupid kill count. That'd go a long way towards renewing interest in Nex. People already have to spend an hour or longer getting that damn key the first time, and each Nex kill requires a few hundred thousand GP in resources. Also, to even have a chance of beating Nex, you have to have max combat stats, 96 summon, and 91+ herblore. Those are damn high requirements-- there's no need to tack on a 20 minute kill count, too. 2) Manually adjust the GE prices. If they raised the GE prices of Nex's drops to 1b (and yes I know the street prices are still 3x that, but we can only hope for so much from Jagex  ), I think many more people would be willing to invest the time to do it. At a bil for a drop, with an 8 man team you are each getting 125m for a drop on CS. I think that'd be enough to encourage people to do it. And with more people doing Nex, the absurd street prices of these items would drop some because the supply would increase. 3) Unlikely, but increase the drop rates.
