Chaotic Rapier vs Longsword
You can't KO effectively with a CLS. Rapier has KO potential in that it can hit two high hits quickly with time for only one food in between hits. Maul has KO potential in that it hits really high. CLS isn't fast enough to combo well, but isn't as strong as the maul. CLS is not for PvP. There's also really just Sara as far as monsters with sufficient defense to make the CLS distinctly better than the rapier- they're ridiculously close to equal on Bandos. In my experience, I could only eat once when fighting a CLS. But then again, you can always use combo foods like pizza+shark. ...You must lag a lot or be extremely slow. There's easily enough time to eat two rocktails between CLS hits. I can eat 2 between maul hits, and CLS is obviously faster than a maul. Maybe its more like 1.5 eats between each, so you can eat 3 per 3 attacks? It's definately not 2 between each attack. its 1.5 you'll be able to eat 2 the first time, then 1, then 2, then 1 etc. Is maul 2 or 2.5?

It's entirely possible (unlike the theory of a drop-wheel).

There's also really just Sara as far as monsters with sufficient defense to make the CLS distinctly better than the rapier- they're ridiculously close to equal on Bandos. CLS is a little bit better for safe pvp, since most of healing comes from SS in safe pvp and not food Also accuracy is much more important in safe pvp but the difference is hardly noticeable here's an graph showing approximately how good the weapons are in comparison to each other as opponent's defense increases by no means mathematically rigorous but it should give you a good idea. Notice: -- Rapier is a LOT better at low defense -- Rapier is comparable to CLS at high defense (basically the same) -- Maul is better than both rapier and CLS at very high defense Rapier>Maul>CLS The only good reason to get a CLS is that little tail bit at the end: high defense and you can't use maul. Rapier/maul covers everything else That graph is legitimately helpful. Thanks! For me, however, it would have to be Maul>Rapier>CLS

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
I suppose that's one way to completely miss the point of the post... And there's another. The Elysian/Rune Kite was an example of the point I'm trying to make. Sometimes, it's important not to argue the example, but instead to argue the point. If you want me to state what I'm saying flatout, fine by me. Here it is: You cannot say whether or not something is useless if you do not know any of the specifications. So maybe there's boots that increase your max LP and your regen, but lowers your defense. You want to tell me from just that information that it's no good? You want to tell me that from just that information given, you can immediately foresee all the applications and uses? Every niche? Every possibility? You want to tell me that from just that information given, you can run efficiency calculations to determine whether or not a DFS or Divine is superior? What if it doubles your LP and gives bunyip-esque regeneration at the cost of no defenses? What if it gives +50/100 LP restore to any food/drinks you consume, at the cost of adding 5% damage to hits over 200? What if it works like Guthans, and gives you a chance to heal what you hit, at the cost of being the armor equivalent to rune? Is it still completely and utterly useless what you immediately assumed it to be? Of course, I don't know what Jagex has in mind, if they have this in mind at all. It may very well be useless and pointless armor. But there's absolutely no way you could draw that conclusion from such a vague description. That's just ignorance and being trigger-happy with assumptions. That doesn't work when the example IS the point.

Yeah. Let me rephrase that. Is it still possible to get the mug from an official Jagex store? :P Let me rephrase that. Yeah.

What are your goals for 2011?
Ohh sorry I must have gotten this forum mixed up with one that is not a community place for people to talk about their ambitions/goals and give help and/or encouragement to other players. Please take this fruit basket as an offering of my... ohh wait this has not affected you in any way, shape or forum <--- just had to though a very bad pun in there. I am sure this thread comes up every year, but I posted it this year so that myself and others could think about what they wanted to do in the new year. I hate people who hate on people making new threads. The_Gabe, are you really that sour (over something unforunate probably), that you troll the TIF? Cmon.

Dungeoneering XP formula
If they don't change, then they are probably constants for all people; it's hard to tell however with your roundoff error if they are constant or not, and your sample size is quite small as well.

14-Dec-2010 - Damage Soaking and New Hitsplats
Oh. Well, I can see that... But evil/dark/etc. armor that would increase life points? Still sounds a bit like a long shot. Mm I can see that. Something like "cursed" armor, maybe? Boosts life points but lowers defenses or negative damage absorb? That would be quite useless and possibly even determental. I agree with this, it wouldn't be beneficial in anyway other than to be able to safe up more....only to have your opponent dominate you yet again due to low defense I really question his mindset when he was posting that, lol. You can't say it would be useless until you knew the specifications now could you? What if I said: there's a shield that sometimes can absorb a little damage. Am I talking about the Elysian, which is great. Or the rune kiteshield, which really isn't? There is so much wrong with your post, I don't even know what to say. I'll start by saying that the elysian doesn't lower your defences. Secondly, it's base stats are superior to that of the Rune Kitesheild, which makes it better even without the absorption. Please think before you post; the only reason anyone would want to use absorption armour to raise hitpoints at the cost of defence would be pures, because their defences don't exist; and I doubt you even thought of that before mindlessly posting.

My oponion of what is to be done for Balance to be restored.
Your amazing analogical metaphors would make a communist succumb to democracy. im sorry but what is that ment to mean? In an attempt to make himself seem smarter, He has devised some "clever" wordplay in coy failed attempt to make a bit of humour. No. Why are you always so bitter? :shades: i think where getting of topic here. Balance is fine as it is; Ahrims, amongst other mage equipment getting substantial melee absorption only helps it more. I do commend Jagex for trying hard to restore the once-lopsided triangle... but now utopia is nearly self-actualized...

A level 8 with a Fire Cape
Exactly. All this false masking is complete garbage, Jagex wants the mucho monehs, and is only supporting players for they know if they don't waves upon waves of membership cancelations will come upon them. As lacking as the updates still are and as infuriating as their logic usually is, you have to give credit where it is due. Jagex is doing better now than they did for many years in the past. Before MMG took over, high levels were lucky to get two or three updates each YEAR that actually had any relevance whatsoever to them. The vast, vast majority of updates were just worthless filler meant for people who hadn't put in over 200 hours of time on their accounts. While the quality assurance is still abysmal and Jagex still makes absolutely dumbfounding decisions with some frequency, the overall quality of their updates has increased as time has passed. Granted, some of that may be because they dumbed down the game and consequently produced more high levels than ever before, so the median experience has shifted upwards a little. Well, I now fear they are gearing the game towards ever increasing their bar of the new threshold of power. I fear soon Barrows will be obsolete, as will Godswords and the ever-symbolic whip. With them releasing so much more High-level content so quickly, it creates doubt in the veteran; he now doubts whether getting this new released chaotic longsword or Godsword won't be rendered obsolete by a new High-level update. It's being overdone.

03-Dec-2010 - New Jagex Store
The site design and shirts are crappy, not much to discuss there. So how about that [insert sports team]? They going all the way to the championship this year? [insert strategic nonsense and invalid speculation here] so yes, they are going to win!

Klank's on your hands, climbers on your feet! A Fire Giant dropped a Dragon Med for me during a slayer assignment. It was worth about 2 million gp at the time. I still have it. :) Well that isn't very efficient [OMGEFFICIENCYISEVERTHANGOMGWTFBBQ]. Just kidding. I still have my first whip from Abbies. :)

200M in all Skills
http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Spirit_shard_pack The problem with storing wealth in spirit shards is that it's static, although it's a fair trade for high liquidity (unlike rares) Interesting. Effectively raising the Max cash to about 268 Trillion Gp for members. Cool!
